In myRP, Life Untold, I have plans to add mechanics for just about everything you could think of for a virtual reality MMORPG setting. A realistic and dynamic world with graphics so good it literally is virtual reality. A full weapons list and stats, armor list and stats, Player Character stats and Skills for each weapon class, a detailed "First Time Tutorial" for new players to acclimate themselves to the RP world, realistic physics, elements of enchanting, alchemy, hunting, farming, fishing, athletics... Basically you name it and the RP will have it in spades.
This is the largest RP I had ever designed, but I need help. As a single individual, I cannot be expect to think of everything on my own so I am in need of ideas for everyday life Skills, Companions (non-combative mounts like horses), and other things as well. If you check the RP and don't see something that you think should be there, tell me about it and we'll discuss adding it to the RP.
With your help, the RP will have more content than ever before detailing all walks of life that take place in a medieval setting in the MMORPG world in Life Untold. Outside of the game, your character lives in the modern era in 2015, and that too will play a role in your experience in this RP. You will be expected to keep track of how long your character remains logged into the game world and log them out accordingly for their real world life with school, work, or what have you.
You'll have just about everything you ever wanted in an MMORPG including a system that never lags or boots you offline because of a server error or too any users (unless this website itself goes down for server maintenance or something)! Your character can literally go wherever, do whatever, and play the game as they wish. The in game world has a primary narrative, but it is optional. If your character wanted, they could enter Life Untold and never touch the storyline beyond the introductory tutorial which all Players go through. Once in the game world, the sky is literally the limit as some of the mounts and such are capable of flight!
With all of this said, and hopefully your interest piqued, I have a few things to say as a disclaimer so you know what to expect out of me as the GM of this rather ambitious venture and what kind of person you are about to involve yourself with (no pressure!):
1) This RP, being as detailed as it is, will have a HUGE learning curve.
It will take most players a good while to read through the mechanics to the point where they understand how it works properly. In that respect it's much like a real brand new MMORPG game. There's a learning curve to those too, and this RP is no different.
2) If you need time to read through all the information before you dedicate yourself to the RP, then please take all the time you need. I will never rush you to join the RP. There is always time and room for that later if the RP starts without you because it starts the same way for everyone.
But please... If you find that the RP is not to your liking, then tell me straight up. Saying you're interested and then just vanishing when you find out that it's not to your taste or expectations is an outrageously horrific sign of disrespect. You won't hurt my feelings if you tell me that you aren't interested after having the chance to see what the RP looks like. I've been role-playing for going on 17 years now. You can't hurt my feelings because my online skin is too far too thick.
But I'll give everyone this warning: If you tell me here in this interest check or in the RP's Out-Of-Character page when the RP goes up that you're interested, and then you disappear without a word you will end up on my "Ignore" list. When you are on my "Ignore" list, you are banned from joining any RP's I create now or in the near future no matter how many times you ask someone to message me and tell me you're sorry for whatever it is you did that put you on my "Ignore" list in the first place. I have no tolerance for disrespect, nor do I forgive and forget. If you end up on my "Ignore" list, you're stuck there and you're not getting out of it.
A little common courtesy goes a long way folks, so don't be that person who says "Hey, I'm interested!" and then just disappears without a word. Nobody likes, respects, or wants to role-play with people like that. At the risk of sounding like an intolerant jerk on a computer screen, I keep it real. And to reiterate, I have no tolerance for disrespect.
3) If you need time to create your character and can't do it in a day like I did, take all the time you need.
The Character Skeleton for this RP will be very, very dense and require much more time than any character you've ever created before. I can say this with confidence: Everyone who joined Life Untold, either on this site or the first time I tried it on another website, loved their characters so much that they kept their drafts handy in case another RP came around which that character could fit into with minor adjustments. If you don't fall in love with this character on a whole new level and make you need to post regularly to see where their journey takes them in this MMORPG RP world, then this RP didn't do its job properly.
4) I'll say it now, and I'll say it loud and proud: I'm a strict GM.
With an RP of this magnitude, I have to be strict. There's A LOT of information involved and that means that until the players have grown accustomed to how the RP works and flows, I'll have to moderate quite a bit of your early experience. Questions are always, always, always welcome, so please have no fear of asking.
I'm a strict GM, but my patience far and away eclipses any other trait I possess. I am forever available for answering questions so that you understand everything as thoroughly as possible.
So, now that you know a little more about how I operate as a GM, hopefully I can expect to see some interest for this RP very soon! I know I sound like a stiff when I talk about certain things, but ask anyone who has been role-playing with me for a while and they'll tell you I'm just as energetic and comedic as I am strict about my RP's, if not more leaning towards the goofy side of life.
