Village Hidden in the Dark

Yellow shards slammed into the jet-black hair of a rather droopy-eyed student, her thick lashes touching her cheeks with every soft blink against the hot sun. She was stranding with her legs shoulder width apart, her hands poised behind her back like most of the other graduates around her. A thick yawn escaped her lips. Mei, a doe-eyed pink haired girl, was murmuring something incoherent to the bored-looking pupil.


When would she get a clue? In the whole class, the chattering klutz of a ninja had to pick a fancy with the most introverted girls in their grade....


Why?


"Mei." Tsukimi finally spoke softly after over a half hour of the girls seemingly endless mouthfuls-- "Shut up."


With that she continued to stare blankly towards the front, however a tight squeeze in her chest told her something wasn't right.


Something was terribly wrong... oh very very off.


The clouds had begun to suddenly roll in, almost out of nowhere, beginning to darken the skies.

 

[Sakuto]

An alarm went off signaling a code black, Shinobi Joinin were rushing over to the front gates as an unknown assult was coming for us...to exterminate everyone and everything


"What is this...What is this insaine chakra in the air?!" Zero Had suddenly woken up his mangkeyo sharingan activated his whole body shaking in fear. "What the hell is this feeling in the air?!" He kept yelling as he raced out the door and got to the top of the highest building to see a terrifying sight... Demons rushing to the fillage gates and I run back into the classroom


"EVERYONE GET YOUR ASSES UP NOW!" He yelled


"Demons are coming!

The sound of the siren split deep into my eardrums causing my hands to instinctively slam into my ears.


A flash of a dream I'd had the night prior grasped hold of me for a brief moment.


Burning burning. Flames licking the skies. Screaming, screaming... yelling...


"The children!


The children!!" A woman screamed to my left, her wrinkled features giving me the impression she was an elder. I glance quickly to where she is pointed, and I act without thinking. My hands shoot up, and a wave of thick salt-water rushes in and pushes a cluster of small kids out of the way of rubble tumbling to the ground. I grab hold of Mei's small hand, who is half-in shock and half stammering to herself. I take the lead, hopping over the concrete pile and dipping down to huddle the young into a small crowd. There are tears and running noses everywhere and one boy has soiled his trousers.


"Mommy!" One girl missing her front tooth yells, and Mei smiles softly, somehow being able to take the emotions of us all and cut the anxiety out. She may be weak physically.... but she can sure calm a city.


"Everyone Follow Tsukimi! If you can't run fast enough one of us will carry you."


I nod once, my lips pressed tightly together. I can feel the Demonic whispers flitting in the atmosphere, and the stench of burning flesh within the heart of the city is making my eyes water.


I end up carrying two small children in each arm and another on my back, our swift movements managing to allow a safe maneuver towards the distant shout of a fellow student, Zero.

 

[Sakuto]

Once all the innocent are in


"Thanks Tsukimi, Stay here, I'm gonna go help fend these creatures off" I say as I close my eyes then open them showing off the rinnegan


Some of the demons break in and I Start destorying each and everyone one of them using my Lightning ninjutsu enhanced with my rinnegan abilities

I nod at my peer, staring intently as he bounds forward. Dark figures, almost like animals created from black fire and ash, scatter in surrounding us.


I work quickly, using the shadows along the trees to shroud me and the little ones in a thick blanket. It's heavy along my shoulders as I crouch down my arms around them. Mei is grasping onto me, knowing each other since a young age our ninjitu is familiar. If anyone stared long enough without breathing they could catch a glimpse of us under the camouflage, but someone gliding along would only see dirt and rubble. Every muscle in my body is strained, the murmuring and soft sobbing of the children has stopped. They're sleeping under me, but the sound of the growling demonic foxes, wolves, bears....


Have stopped....


My eyes open, the smell of burnt hair has clouded around us... and more demons begin to block the path behind us. My heart is now racing and my lungs have become tired.


I let go of the darkness around us, and we suddenly are pulled back into sight, a few demons laying in ashes around me.


I glance up at Zero, making all the children join hands as we run past him towards the only exit. He's been using his ninjitsu.


I let Mei run ahead, squeezing through a narrow opening in the wall surrounding the village.


My multicolored eyes meet his striking hues and I stand there for a moment. "I'm not letting you do this alone."

 

[Sakuto]

I smile Softly "Then Help me out" Im charging up my chakra for one huge attack and I place a shield around the others so the demons cant get to them

**OOC: I had something planned with Mei and the kids they're making their way outside the village is that okay?**

His vocals wash over me, and I nod, my stoic expression dipping a little as determination makes my brows furrow.


I can feel his chakra build as it charges, my own spilling itself into my veins.


I take the first move, my first three fingers flying to my lips. My teeth sink in hard and a warm liquid splashes against my cheeks. The pain is dull, and the wince has thinned over the years. My movements are swift and slick, my blood hardening into multiple senbon forming between my knuckles. I send them flying hitting three dark fox-demons to my left

 

[Sakuto]

"Alright get out of the way!!!" I yell with my chakra charged up densly.


I wait for you and the children to get out the way and the remaining demons charge at me


"Take this you Fire breathing destructive basterds!!!!! ALMIGHTY PUSH" I scream at the top of my lungs as a huge force Pushes back all the remaining 200 demons"


"Now take this!!! Gale Style: Shining destruction!! " A huge beam of pure chakra fires out from the palm of my hand killing all remaing demons saving the village and I fall on my knees passing out on the ground having used up too much chakra at once

**OOC: isn't the point of the raid for the village to go into ruin so the remaining students have to look for Sakuto to train them in order to become Jonin to kill whoeveritis that destroyed their home??


Also Mei and the kids are already outside the village there's no way to "protect" them. So I'm going with the idea that he took out a shit ton of Demons and passed out is that cool??**

((That's what I assumed *nod*nod* okay so everything is sorted!! ^-^))


There are flashes, multiple streaks of electricity whizzing in the air. I crouch down behind Zero, his silver hair whipping about. Static raises every hair on my body and I close my eyes tightly, watching the colors dance behind my lids as the chakra from my peer engulfs the enemy.


My breath hitches in my throat once everything is silent. My lashes open into slits, eyes widening in time to watch my subordinate collapse.


I leap forward, catching his head in my hands swiftly before any more damage can be done to him. I stare around us, a cloud of dust obscuring my vision for s few long moments. The bar is in ruins, a bathhouse is aflame, I can hear heavy cluttered footfalls from a distance. My heart is ramming hard against my chest, and a twisting sickening feeling has suddenly laid heavy stones in my gut.


I push all thoughts aside, grabbing hold of my unconscious companion and throwing him over my shoulder I sprint off, my legs working so hard I can feel my bones threaten to split from the bottom of my bare feet. I push off with my Chakra and leap over the wall, landing on a pile of rubble before making my way into the forest.


A small worry about Mei tickles the back of my throat but I ignore it.


I saw them escape. I saw them survive. She could have run for help from an elder, probably hid the children.


I keep telling myself all of this while simultaneously searching the grounds below. The treetops are my best bet for safety....


A quick figure sifts through the canopy before me. Too fast for my eyes to process before....


"Oomf!" The wind is knocked out of me, and I'm struggling under the weight of an unconscious ninja.


Before I have enough time to regain any leverage, deep black eyes are staring into my own. Bright red hair brushes my forehead, another student. Rinn grits his teeth at me his nose screwed up.


"You're lucky I smelled you under all that demon blood" he growled pushing Zero off me with his foot.


"Have you seen Mei!?" I ask as soon as I gather my wind. But the look in his eye makes me want to rip his eyelids off.


"Tsukimi...." I cut him off


"Shut up." I don't want him to speak anymore.... I don't want anyone to say anything.


A flood of feelings I'm not familiar with takes over me, beating into my chest hard.


I take no caution as I brush past him and with all my remaining energy.... I slam my fists into a thousand-year-old oak and continue until my blood is coating the bark, and my skin is shredded....


And even after... I continue to beat in the poor spirit sobless tears clouding my vision.

 

[Sakuto]

I mutter "Tskumi..Stop....please..."


I start to wake up from unconsciousness


"I can still sense her chakra not far from here and a group of them too.. If we get there in time we can all escape..theres too many enimes.." I Say weakly as i start forcing myself to get up

Soft weak words creep into my ears, shaking my haze. I take a deep breath, my body stilling as I feel Zero's eyes on me. I refuse to let either of my peers see the rare expression of anguish on my face. The truth is... I could feel her Chakra as well....


Feel it fading.


I press my fists tightly against the trunk, my wounds quickly absorb the blood I'd shed hardening slowly to create a thick almost indestructible plate along my knuckles.


Tears dry long clean streaks along my face, I smudge the grime along my skin to hide the evidence.


I loom over Zero, helping him to his feet without saying a word. It's taking everything in me to keep my composure... because I can almost feel her heart slowing.

 

[Sakuto]

Ill use the last bit of my chakra to teliport us there and we should beable to save her"


I teliport everyone to the location where she was injured and a dead demon laid beside her and I rush over using some of my remaining chakara to heal her


"We arent to late! we can still save her" I shouted almost out of breath from my Chakara almost being empty

It takes me a few seconds to take in the surroundings. Small limbs and bodies are scattered in front of my eyes. Pools of blood are soaking into the earth, flesh entangled in trees and ash. Rinn wretches next to me, his lunch squelching against the ground at the sight of the dead young.


Mei is laying on her side, pink hair stained red. One eye is closed, half her face sitting in a scarlet puddle. Zero's Chakra is pumping life into her, but one of her legs is missing, and the gaping hole in her gut glistens under the sun. I fall to my knees by her side, grasping her hand so tightly I can feel her bones groan under my grip.


"Mei...." my voice cracks, and her opened yellow hues shake when tears begin to form.


"Tsukimi.... the.... they killed so many." She coughs harshly blood trickling from between her teeth. She weakly pushes Zero's hands away from her, grimacing as the pain seems to overtake her senses. "Try and save the children." She whispers, her chakra working against us to keep us calm. Her chest is slowly rising and falling, eyes scanning nothing, seeing nothing.


"Mei stay with me!" I shout, but her stupid block has kept my mind from allowing anger in.


She squeezes my fingers tightly once more before it goes limp.


Her chest falls... and she lets go....


The chakra releases me and I'm overwhelmed with so many different conflicting feelings I almost groan audibly.


"You could have saved her!" I scream knowing well that it wasn't Zero's fault, but my logic and judgement are clouded in red and I instinctively grab him by the collar.


Rinn jumps in, smelling of bile and sweat and he grabs my shoulder only to get a cheap blow to the stomach.


"F--- uck" he wheezes and stumbles back.

[Sakuto]

I lay there weak


"I'm..s-..sorry" I say weakly unable to control the tears flowing out of my eyes as I slam my fist into the ground causing a huge crator"


"Whoever did this will pay, they will pay with there lifes" I say under my breath and after awhile my chakara comes back and use my rinnegan to put Mei's dead body back togeather and I pick her lifeless body up


"Lets go Tsukimi, we have to find a new place to live"

Staring blankly at her limp body, her eyes are staring back at everything and nothing at all. I'm numb now, no tears even form this time...


It's strange... how I had cried before she had even slipped away... and now that she's gone....


I glance sideways at Rinn, who is nervously rebraiding the rattail under his left ear.


"We need to find survivors." My voice is low, and rings with something malicious and sad. I grab Mei's body from Zero, tucking her close to my chest.


Rinn uses his earth style jutsu to creat a deep hole in the ground. I look away and dump her lifeless corps, never glancing at the grave as my peer covers her eternally.


I'm silent as we trudge through the bramble, a small hand near my left foot is clutching a scorched doll and the strings attached to my heart tighten.

 

[Sakuto]

"isnt that" I say as I clean off the doll


"Lets keep this..." I say softly as we keep walking back torward the village seeing dead humans and demons everywhere

I look away when Zero plucks the doll from the dead girl's severed hand and stare off into the puff of black smoke rising from the far off burning buildings.


Rinn is covering his nose with the sleeve of his shirt, his sensitive nose catching whiffs of copper, burnt flesh, and singed hair.


"Zero, let's get the fuck out of here...." he wines and I shoot him a glare from over my shoulder that he ignores.

 

[Sakuto]

I give the doll over to you


"Not untill we go back and try to look for some survivors


We get back to the village and spit up looking for survivors through the wreckage
