WIP - regardless of whether you're interested or not, suggestions and feedback welcomed
Patient Zero was heralded as a miracle. The dead returning to life, with vast improvements to dexterity, reaction time, and strength. The seizing of further aging. Nocturnal vision. Faster regeneration. The Rebirth virus, even as it rejected 70% of it’s hosts, leaving them cold and dead and the need for regular blood transfusions, had many contemplating taking the risk. Breaking the quarantine zone of the sleepy town of Farthing Michigan, for a chance at ‘redemption’ or superpowers.

And then the virus evolved. Instead of the bio-luminescent blue of the originals, the new victims’ eyes varied from pink to red. Some grew horrendous, thick, claw like nails. Changes were made to the amygdala, frontal lobe, and cerebral cortex, rendering them still able to reason, but horribly violent and unstable. And the teeth. The most horrifying part was the teeth. Any adult teeth were soon pushed out of the way for horrendously sharp fang like protrusions. The hospital was turned to a blood bath. The National Guard were overwhelmed. The quarantine was broken. A national state of emergency has been declared. And a task force assembled. To end this menace before they evolve any further.

So, one could play as:
-A citizen, arming themselves at night and banding together to have a normal as possible life.
- A member of the new Taskforce 333, Military specialist, or an original infectee.
-An unaffiliated original infectee
-A violent and unstable ‘New Type’, trying to escape, or just have as much perverse fun as possible
-A Hunter/Crasher: An outside force. Regular humans, with a Kill spooky shit first, ask questions later attitude. They’re here to ‘help’.
-Researcher, Doctor
-Anything else clever that gets my approval

Please let me know if you have any suggestions or are interested!

So, Urban or small town?
This is a question that need resolving. The Virus has spread all over the United States, but it has a low infection and survival rate.

Also: Monstrous infected are slightly weaker and slower than the originals, but they make up for it with their weapons, numbers and ferocity.
Both can take more damage than an average human.
Both have an aversion to silver.

I kind of like the idea of a small town for this.

Here's a sample CS:

Original/Empowered/RebornName: August Zachary. "Zero"

Age(Chronological): 16

Age at Turn (Permanent Appearance): 13

Gender: Male

Orientation(optional): Unsure.

Height: 4'11

Weight: 95 pounds.

Physical appearance: August is small, even for his young age. His build is fae like, which puts him at a strength disadvantage even against the supposedly physically inferior 'New' types. He has fair skin, and the trademark glacial blue eyes (though often dampened by contacts) of the empowered or reborn and his mouth and nose are both diminutive, though both are quite pert. If not forced to wear tactical gear by Taskforce 333, he can usually be found in a blue hoodie and a tight pair of jeans. He'll rarely show any sort of skin aside from his face, and he keeps is dark brown hair shoulder length.

Personality: August is an odd bird, but it's mostly just because he doesn't remember a life before turning, unlike most of his brethren. He's been nurtured and trained by Taskforce 333, and is very shy around outsiders. He has self confidence issues due to his comparative weakness to others of his kind, even with his excellent mutation. He's eager to please, and fiercely loyal, but he's often embarrassed due to his lack of societal understanding. He has great capacity for empathy, and killing someone in the crossfire would destroy him. He however has been conditioned to not view himself, or the enemy as human.

Items often carried: A Gps Tracker, high durability smartphone. A journal, which he writes in on orders from the unit psychologist. A small amount of candy. Comic books.

Weapons: During a Taskforce operation: An MP5, with silver plated ammunition. A bowie knife, also plated.

Notable Skills: Marksmanship. Climbing. Mildly talented at covert actions.

Extra Mutation(ONLY ONE): Invincible Skin. For short periods of time, "Zero" can render himself to being cut or stabbed anywhere he has flesh. This does not include his eyes. It also doesn't protect him from blunt force. Being shot by a bullet will knock him on his ass. Being hit by a bat or blade will break bones.

Relations: The Taskforce is his family. This is all he knows. Sgt. Yates is a sort of maternal figure.

Other: Amniesia. But has muscle memories from his old life.

Current Goal: To please his handlers, and to blend into society.

Alignment(Taskforce 333 or independent): Taskforce 333

Backstory: Zero is one of the precursors of all of the reborn. He might not be the first, but he's the first that the U.S government is aware of. He was experimented upon in a government blacksite, until Taskforce 333, namely Sgt. Yates intervened. He didn't have a name. He was just "Zero". Taskforce 333 named him. He originally served as a mascot and choreboy, but he took an interest in their work, and has been working for quite some time for the privilege of joining them in the field.

Hunter/Crasher

Name: Ronda McAllister "Lady Liberty"

Age: 31

Gender: Female

Height: 6'0"

Weight: 180 pounds

Physical Appearance: Ronda is a rather large woman, standing at 6 feet and having a muscular build. Her skin tone is simply Caucasian, her eyes are green, and she has shoulder length blonde hair that she keeps in a short ponytail. Ronda's face is fairly clean and free of blemishes, save for a scar on her left cheek she earned in a fight. She wears jeans, combat boots, and a leather jacket with the American flag emblazoned on the back. Ronda almost always wears a black bandanna over her head and a Kevlar vest under her jacket, and she'll wear another bandanna, this one patterned after the American flag, over her face when she needs to do anything that might compromise her identity.

Personality: Ronda is a red blooded, patriotic American, through and through. She'd be more than willing to die and kill for her country, and she sees it as her duty to serve America. Aside from that, Ronda can be very aggressive and takes charge of whatever situation she's in. She's determined, stubborn, tough, and she'll never go down without a fight. Ronda has a bit of a softer side too, and can be caring and even motherly towards those she cares about.

Items often carried: A photo of her and her old unit from when she was in the army, her black bandanna, and flask of tequila.

Weapons: Remington 12 gauge pump shotgun, Desert Eagle handgun chambered in .50 AE, custom brass knuckles engraved with the phrase "God bless America."

Notable Skills: Extensive knowledge of weapons, hand to hand combat, mechanical repair

Relations: John McAllister (father), Mary-Jo McAllister (mother), Luanne McAllister (older sister), Victor Samuels (former squadmate)

Current goal: To help keep the virus at bay to the best of her abilities.

Motivations: The virus is a clear threat to the entire nation, and Ronda sees it as her duty to protect her country.

Backstory: Ronda was raised in Knetucky and comes from a large military family, and she enlisted herself at the age of 18. Throughout her military career, she saw combat numerous times, and was thus hardened by it into the person she is today. At the age of 29, Ronda suffered three bullet wounds and was sent home with a Purple Heart, effectively ending her time in the army. After that, Ronda decided to live a fairly quiet life as an auto mechanic out in Georgia. When the virus became a major threat though, Ronda knew she had to stand up to it, and took the mantle of "Lady Liberty," a sort of vigilante persona, and swore to defend her country against the virus.

Cool. One more good CS and I'll start the thread.

That, and if you have in an opinion on this matter, pls respond.
We already decided small town. It started in the north heartlands. So, I figure we'd be in a small town a ways off, that has a low infected count. But where in the united states do you guys want it?
Northwest, Southwest, South, South east, or maybe east coast?

The Midwest might be a good idea. There are plenty of small towns there, and we could just say that whatever small town we're in is near Chicago so the location could be fluid between a small town and an urban setting.

That sounds like a good idea. Illinois? any objections?

Just two things. Appearance age can't be older than chronological age, and somewhere in the backstory, I'd like to see how he turned.
