Lorekeeper
Please note this is still a WIP but I'm seeing how much interest there is in the meantime. There will be fighting, schooling, adventure, and so forth. Sandbox RP is encouraged as well as the main storyline! There may just be humans, to keep things simpler, unless people really want something like elves.
The Night Market
A city of six million people, Levlock is a sprawling city that comes alive at night. The most popular area is the Night Market, home to street food vendors, clubs and stalls selling almost anything you could want. The Black Market is rumoured to move around from week to week, trading human lives and illegal goods. What isn’t known, is that witches and wizards use The Black Market for less nefarious means. Save for a small percentage. It’s the perfect place to get abstract relics, antiques and books for research and casting.
Everyday people, or Mundies as they’re called by the magical community, have no idea that magic exists. Wizards and witches keep their wands transfigured into everyday items, often pens or pencils so they don’t seem out of place in hand. They don’t wear robes or pointed hats, they fit in with all aspects of Mundie society. Back alleys are sometimes filled with the sounds of laughter and the sound of wood hitting wood as broom fights break out, out of sight of non-magic folk. Pets kept in pet-free homes are transfigured when the Landlord drops by for an inspection. They do street performances for money, their wands transfigured into items that don’t look out of place during the performance.
Magic comes in with puberty and for Mundie families, their children are offered a place at a prestigious and exclusive boarding school. Alongside regular school lessons, students are taught how to deal with their new powers and how to remain secret around friends and families. Magic use in public is discouraged, but students are taught how to cast secretly and safely.
Although the safety of Levlock is under threat, newspapers report strange sightings people can’t explain and people are going missing. At first, nothing much is thought of it until photographs begin to surface.
