Strange black figures come in through the mirrors. They are shape shifters, but they don't shift. They steal your appearence, slowly draining your energy. Don't let them touch you, don't look in a mirror, don't let them copy you. They are called Dividers. If you are touched by one, they steal your profile, and you become a black figure, with no colors, no details, nothing. Just a shadow to wander around, acting as a Divider and stealing energy from other innocent humans in hopes to gain your anatomy back.
Dividers arn't all bad, though. Some Dividers are good, acting as gods and helping people. If you see one in a mirror, which can be reconized as a rainbow color mirror person of yourself, they act as your guardian angel. They will protect you from evil Dividers or grant you a wish. One condition, if they protect you from a Divider, they die. If they grant you a wish, they must return to their world and can no longer help you or anyone else. If they come to you, they will announce, "I am the Shining Light of Hope, here for your protection and well being."
The humans still fight back. Humans with Guardian Dividers joined together once, to fight off the other-worldly creatures. They are known as Uprising, which at first is not large but grows as the world weakens. The Guardian Dividers each take the form of an animal or other as a disguise, not stealing but creating the profile. Most take the form of the human's greatest desire, others take the form of something they can protect the human with, such as a predator.
To defeat an evil Divider, you have to strike the point on each of them which is red. It could be anywhere, on their hands, arms, chest, head, anywhere. They dissolve into dust if they are defeated. If the guardian Divider is defeated, they transport themselves and the evil Divider(s) with them back to their realm. Then they no longer serve the human as a partner.
