The modern world is a carefully crafted illusion kept in place by the wealthy and powerful in order to allow the continuation and continuity of mankind. So long as everyone knows they can go to sleep at night and wake up in a world of logic, where one bad day can't cause the friendly doctor down the road to turn into a murderous cyborg surgeon obsessed with giving people their ideal bodies, or the weather ladies breakdown doesn't cause her to become a living radio that predicts storms that shouldn't happen and make landfall only hours after they are 'reported'.
A world where agents of powerful corporations fight an eternal shadow war against both twisted creatures and other groups in order to secure the artifacts created by the death of those odd creatures that spawn from the statistically small group of people born with the unravel gene. Where the only difference between the agents and the things they hunt was a split second decision to try and claw back from the edge of the pit before it swallowed them in totality.
Once you enter this world you will never have the comfort of tomorrow, of living in a world where the laws of physics are anything but a laughable suggestion to beings born of despair, where the entire world could be shifted on its axis because of a rogue agent's use of an artifact to change the summer into a winter wonderland in order to sell their backstock of jackets.
Acircorp are not the heroes and neither are you, but normality is their niche and its CEO is more lenient then most. You aren't lucky to be here, because if you were lucky you would never had found out just how little control mankind has. All you can do is keep to the shadows and ensure that the lucky ones can live in the shadow of ignorance and never awaken to just how close they come to the worlds end day in and out.

Welcome to the world of Unwoven, a modern horror fantasy RP where players take the role of agents of the massive corporation Acircorp in their mission to enforce a sense of normality over the world and keep the existence of the phenomenon that could bring ruin to the world under wraps.
To give a brief summary of the world, there exists a certain genetic marker that can appear in people known as the Weave Gene, which typically remains largely inactive unless the person holding it undergoes a immense and long lasting trauma that triggers it. Once triggered the persons body will undergo a breakdown on a cellular level before being forced together by an 'Ideal', the sole driving force behind the new being that takes their place.
Those born with the gene that undergo this transformation are called Unwoven, and their forms, abilities, and level of danger are utterly random. Its a cosmic dice roll between something that hunts after a victim or two at a time to a thing that could bring a country to its knees. Once discovered the Unwoven are hunted down to either be captured and studied or eliminated, usually with various groups trying to reach them first. When an Unwoven is killed they leave behind an Artifact, a piece of their being with some form of reality breaking ability tied to it. A knife that can close wounds, a flashlight that allows one to see into the past, or even a pendant that pauses aging.
In some rare cases unwoven can maintain their human form and memories if they manage to pull themselves together right before the moment of breakdown, leaving them somewhere between a human and an unwoven, somewhere between both worlds but not truly belonging in either.
