GABRIEL
He pulled the strap of his backpack in a tight fist as he held it closer to his back, a soft grunt emitting from his chest as he stepped off the bus that drove his sister, him, and their close friend Logan, to the base of the mountain. He wore jeans that were rather big, and a black sweater, His black hair gelled and spiked slightly. Carefully he stepped away from the bus, letting his heavy boots sink into the soft snow that covered the entire mountain, and Oregon in general due to the their usual freezing winter.
He looked back toward his sister, her tan skin rather pale now. He knew she was dreading coming back to the mountain, and he understood why. Kassidy had been unbelievable close to Veronica and her twin sister Jasmine, and when they went missing Kassidy refused to talk to anyone for months and months. He smiled at her lightly, and she forced a smile back, yet he knew she was upset, he could see it in her caramel colored eyes.
He sighed rather heavily, his breath flowing from his mouth in the form of condensation. Holding one strap of his back tightly in his fist, trying not to show his fear as he carefully took another step forward on the trail. "Better hurry, it won't stay bright for much longer." without waiting for Logan or Kassidy to reply, to continued forward. The pair trailed after their older friend, admiring the scenery silently.
LOGAN
He was hesitant to step off the bus, yet followed after Gabriel in mock confidence, showing the calm he didn't feel. Instead every ounce of him screamed for him to stay on the bus and to get back to Medford, back to the small town they are from, the small safe town. He heaves a sigh, stifling it slightly as he catches Kassidy's gaze, her eyes are sad, and her skin is not its usual glowing tan. He grits his teeth, feeling sadness clutch his stomach as well, and anger boiled inside him. He carefully walks after Gabriel, both of his hands holding onto his own backpack straps, allowing the bag to be held tightly against his back. His dark gray sweatshirt rubbed against his skin, and didn't quite shelter his body from the icy gust that blew lightly, carrying small flurries with it. Yet he work about three pairs of sweatpants, which was uncomfortable on the bus, yet worth it now. He exhales softly, watching his breath turn to white condensation and as it's carried high above them by the wind. That's when his gaze catches on figure perched high above them, hidden by darkness. "Hey Gabriel. Look" he looked toward his friend, yet when he looked back the figure was gone. He gasped softly, looking up at the other trees. Gabriel stepped up beside his friend, following his gaze, "What? you see some sort of ugly bird?" the larger teen chuckles, it was an insult not many would understand. Logan takes pictures of birds for his photography class, which Gabriel thinks is beyond lame. "Yeah.. yet it wasn't uglier than you." he retorts, before smirking. The pair chuckle, and shove for a moment, before carrying on up the path towards the cable car that will carry the trio towards the cabin.
KASSIDY
She follows after Gabriel, her older brother, and Logan, their goofy friend. She wears her dark pine colored snow jacket with a fox-fur hood, that her grand mother had bought her specially for this trip, her slightly torn blue jeans, and olive colored boots. Her beautiful, long brown hair is pulled back into a high, slicked back pony tail that is curled perfectly.
She stiffens as the icy wind flows over her body, yet she welcomes it after a few seconds. She can feel her cheeks become a light pink as the gust stings her warm face. She blinks a few times, as she hears Logan tell Gabriel to look up in the trees, yet she, and her brother see nothing. She watches the two spar slightly, and she smirks. She remembers back when this place wasn't riddled with fear, and everyone was excited to be up here for a good winter break.
Soon the trio reaches the cable car station. Gabriel and Logan walk rather quickly towards the rather run down station cabin, to which Kassidy follows slowly, not really wanting to leave the snow just yet.
They were the first here, apparently, as the door to the small station was locked. Gabriel grunts as he digs through his bags to get the key. Kassidy on the other hand happens to admire the dark mountains in the distance, the sun was already setting behind them, and the last few rays were stretching out across the sky as the sun was dragged down slowly.
Eventually they get the door open, to which the trio huddles inside and shuts the door tightly behind them, leaving it unlocked for their other friends. They then sit in the station, looking around for a bit while they wait for the cable car the reach them. It wasn't too far away, so it would only be a few minutes, Yet Kassidy was starting to get an eerie feeling and decided she will feel safer whenever the cable car arrives to take them to the trail that leads up toward the cabin.
LILY
The young blonde walks up the trail slowly, her backpack slung over one shoulder lightly, as she clutches her snow jacket tightly to her slender body. Her blonde hair ruffles as a gust of wind blows flurries in her face and she curse sunder her breath lightly as her face begins to sting from the cold. She walks rather quickly, leaving small prints in the snow behind her. She is walking carefully when she hears the bushes to her left rustle. She ignores it and continues on her way, when the bushes at her right rustle, this time louder. She swallows hard, walking faster now in fear of some sort of animal, or worse. She is speed walking when a massive blur of black shoots in front of her, a cry cuts from her throat as she stumbles back, and her foot slips on a rock that had iced over under her. She falls on her bum, her icy gaze wide in shock, yet her path is clear again, as if whatever had startled her, did it on purpose.
