Fantasy Unnatural Academy

Osto blinked in confusion. "Sorry," he told Jessie. He doubted that anyone had heard him, but still. He noticed it was getting late when the waitress arrived with their food. He thanked her, and set about eating up. He had his money ready to pay. He decided to ask Jessie another question. "Jessie," he began, "do you have a bathing suit?"

Jessy was squeezing lemon juice obto her fish when she blinked and shook her head " No... " she then began eating

Osto chuckled. "I could always get you one, if you like," he said. He was enjoying his lunch. He also knew the dance would be on soon. He would tell Jessie soon.

Jessy blushed " No thank you....i ll just go buy one when I have the time " she sipped her drink and went back to eating almost halfways done now

Osto nodded. "Almost time for that dance," he said. He was almost done with his steak. He wondered how long he have to wait until he could go. "Will you wear the dress?"

Jessy nodded " Um...sure, ya.....yes " she glanced up and saw he was almost done, she blinked and ate a little faster

Osto smiled, and finished off his lunch. He stood up. "I'm done," he told Jessie. He reached into his pocket, and pulled out his cash. "You coming Jessie?"

Jessy quickly finished eating and wiped her mouth before getting up and pulling out her money to pay for her food " Yup "

Osto nodded, and paid for his meal. He waited for Jessie to pay, and realized he should change. He decided he should, and began thinking about what he should wear.

Jessy paid and headed towards the door " Come on, Osto... you wanted to go to the party...so lets get going so we have time to get ready " she blushed pink but chuckled

Osto smiled. "I'm coming," he told Jessie, and followed after her, hoping to find something good to wear. When he finally arrived back at the academy, he turned to Jessie. "I'll be getting changed," he told her, "see you soon."

Jessy nodded " So, well meet out here got it? " she didn't wait for an answer as she headed off to her room

Osto sighed, and went back to his room. He began looking through his stuff, and found a grey dress shirt and black pants. He put them on, and looked over himself in the memory. His dress shirt was pressed against his chest, showing off the outline of his chest. It was almost see through. He exited his room, and waited for Jessie. However, he still had something nagging at his mind. It was an interesting technique, one he didn't know Bone Mages could do. He wasn't sure if he could do it, but would look at it later. In the meantime, he would just wait for Jessie.

Amelia, in opposition to most students, had quite enjoyed her day, and rather than with hope, looked at the night with a certain amount of fear. Her hard work had let her avoid the memories of the darkness within her, but as the night came, she would become less and less able to control herself. It was such that, with trepidation, she had gone to the store to buy a dress. The lady suggested a dress, and she bought it, discovering later that it hugged her somewhat too tightly, and sometimes had to tug it over her knees. She decided to simply wear her ceremonial dress, and no makeup. She started walking to the church, secreting her acupuncture needles all over her body.

Jessy slipped off her day clothes and put on the dress, looking at herself in the mirror she messed around with her hair and ended up curling it and putting it into a loose bun letting a few curl fall down in front of her shoulder and down her back. After that she out on some makeup and dug around for some shoes, finding a pair of black flats she pulled them on and grabbed her purse, it was small and was made of worn out black leather. Once she finished getting ready she put on purfume and headed out the door to the front of the school looking around for Osto she quietly opened the door, seeing him she blushed pink and asked " Ready? "

Osto directed himself toward Jessie as she stepped outside. He inhaled sharply. She looked...."You look beautiful Jessie," he told her.He felt himself turn red, before nodding. "Yes," he continued, "I'm ready." He took her hand in hers. "Please don't pull away this time, Jessie." He lifted look into her eyes, letting her see that he was pleading for her.

Jessy blushed a deep red when he took her hand, seeing his pleading expression she swallowed " O-ok " she whispered and gave his hand a gentle squeeze as she walked down the steps coming up next to him

While Mikkish was off trying to tell me about the party, me and Mr. Nakashima had made our way to the woods on the outskirts of town. I was hesitant at first when he said we'd just walk through the streets without concealing our weapons in any way. However, no one really paid much mind, maybe a few nervous glances, or they'd go out of their way to avoid us. But no one actually stopped us. When we got there, he gave me a small list of ingredients to look for. Nothing too difficult or exotic. Just some wild herbs, fruits, flowers, and any wood that I could gather. I knew what everything on the list was, I had gotten a book from the library on the local plant life and studied it when he mentioned doing something like this.

I was kneeling by some gardenias, plucking them and setting them in the pack with the rest of what I had gathered, when I heard a stick crack behind me. I froze for a second and slowly turned around. There was a wolf standing behind me. It was larger than the size of a regular wolf, about three quarters larger. It began growling and five more began walking out from their hiding places among the trees and plants. "N-Nice wolves... g-good... wolves...!" I slowly stood up, facing them. I had left the scythe against a nearby tree... just a few feet away... my bow was on me, but there wasn't enough space between me and the wolves to let off a good shot in time.

The wolf in front of me pounced. I quickly lunged out of the way of danger, toward my scythe, the jaws snapping only centimeters away from my face, I could feel its hot breath...! These things were going to kill me! "Mr. Nakashima! Help!" I cried out at the top of my lungs. The next thing I knew, a loud crack sounded through the forest... a gunshot. The wolf that had almost just taken a chunk out of my face fell to the ground, a large, shredded, smoldering hole in its skull. The wolves growled and faced Mr. Nakashima... well three of them at least, the other two focused their attention on me. In that small moment of confusion for the wolves, I quickly grabbed my scythe from it's resting place against the tree.

I turned to the two wolves focusing on me. I clumsily brought the scythe in front of me. "Why did he think that this was a good weapon for me!?" One of the wolves pounced, and I quickly sliced at it... and the blade connected with its side. It let out a cry of pain and was sent off to the side. It nearly ripped the scythe from my grip... Thankfully I had managed to keep hold of it.

The other wolf charged at me. I brought the scythe forward, holding it horizontally, and with both hands, just as it snapped its jaws down on the grip. It was trying to rip the scythe from my hands. "S-Stop!" Out of desperation... I let one hand go of the scythe, and then grabbed the dagger in my pocket. "I'm sorry!" I slammed the dagger into the wolf's eye. The wolf howled in pain and let go of the scythe. "I-I'm sorry...!" I swung the scythe and buried it into the side of the wolf's neck. It fell to the side, no longer moving, no longer breathing... The dagger was still sticking out of its eye socket

I didn't have time to celebrate my near death experience, or mourn over the animal that I had just killed, before I was suddenly knocked over from the side. I had the foresight to guard my throat with my arm. It was the wolf from before, the one I had dug my scythe into... the wound in its side pouring blood... it wouldn't stop. But it wasn't about to die, not without killing me first...! It bit down on my left arm arm... no... biting isn't a good enough word for what it was doing. It was crushing my arm between its jaws, rending my flesh apart, crushing my bones, breaking them... it felt like it was trying to bite my arm in two. that might've been the plan. The pain was agonizing, spreading throughout my whole body... My vision went red. I let out a loud cry of pain... was... this the end...?

No... no...! NO! I couldn't die here! I refused to die here! Adrenaline pumped through my system as I grabbed the wolf's face. I dug my thumb into one of it's eye sockets as I rolled us over so the wolf was beneath me. it howled in pain... it opened it's jaws just enough for me to slip my arm from between it's jaws. Blood gushed from its eye socket as I pulled my thumb out. I quickly got up and kicked the wolf in its wounded side, it cried out in pain again.

I jumped back and quickly picked up my scythe with my one good arm... the other... it was useless... just danging there. I couldn't feel anything from it, aside from the pain from the wound. The wolf staggered to its feet, glaring at me with its one good eye. I could feel it... it's overwhelming hatred. It knew that it was going to die, but it wasn't going to do so without killing me first...! It growled and started running toward me. I raised my scythe unsteadily and as soon as it was in range, I brought it down on the wolf's neck with the last of my strength. Thankfully, it was enough force to bury it right down into its throat. It fell forward and I fell to my knees. "I'm... I'm so sorry..."

I held my busted arm. I looked between the two wolves that I had just killed, and then examined my arm. The damage was terrible... the skin around the bite was completely torn up, you could see right down to the bone where the wolf had bitten me. I suddenly wretched and leaned over to the side, vomiting. I coughed and wretched for a few seconds and then stared at the wolf's corpse for... I don't know how long, in a daze... I eventually snapped out of it and remembered that Mr. Nakashima had fought the other three wolves in the pack. "M-Mr. Nakashima...?" I called out. The bushes nearby rustled, I froze up for a second. Did they come back to finish the job? Did they kill Mr. Nakashima...?! I let out an audible sigh of relief when Mr. Nakashima walked out from the foliage, as far as I could tell he was perfectly fine.

He looked at the scene before him. The arrows that had fallen out of my quiver when I fell, the three dead wolves, and me, kneeling there, covered in blood, my arm hanging limply at my side. He reached into a pack at his side and pulled out a small crystal vial filled with a green liquid. "You're injured, drink this." He knelt down beside me, handing me the vial after opening it.

I nodded and brought it to my lips and downing the whole thing in one go... it didn't have a particularly nasty flavor... and it began killing the pain, the feeling in my arm began returning to me. I looked at my arm and watched in fascination as the muscle and flesh began to seal together, my broken bones began fusing back together. "T-Thank you... I'm sorry." I looked down at the ground.

"There's nothing to be sorry about, you didn't bring the wolves. However," His voice grew stern. "Never let go of your weapon, such a mistake could kill you, you're lucky that they didn't tear you to pieces. Just be more prepared next time, you did well." He sighed and helped me up.

"Y-Yes sir." I began to recover my lost weapons in silence... first, the scythe, pulling it out of the wolf's neck... the dagger in the other wolf's eye... and finally the arrows that had been scattered around with my encounter with the second wolf. I gingerly wiped the blades clean with my sleeve.

While I was busy doing that, Mr. Nakashima had already begun skinning the wolves, taking whatever might be useful for alchemy. Their pelt, their flesh, their claws, their fangs, even their bones... Over the years he had become efficient at this task. "Joe, over here." He gestured for me to come and watch him skin the next wolf once I had finished retrieving everything. He began talking about what I should take and the best ways of skinning animals, and then ordered me to skin the last wolf in the clearing.

As I had watched him skin the wolf, I felt ready to throw up again. I was thankful that I already had and there was nothing left in my stomach. I reluctantly knelt next to the last wolf and gently stroked it's fur. "I'm so sorry..." I whispered. I took a deep breath and pulled out my dagger. I had always hated the thought of hunting... I hated it even more now... the only way I could even begin to excuse such an act is if the animal is used for a practical purpose, not just for some trophy. I began to work, feeling nauseous.

Mr. Nakashima watched me work in silence. Every once in a while correcting something that I was doing wrong, or when I looked at a loss to do next. He thought back to the fight. He had managed to deal with his wolves in just a few minutes. They weren't any match to his skills or magic. After he had dispatched them, he returned and watched from the shadows, ready to intervene at a moment's notice if the wolves were about to make the killing blow. But, thankfully, he didn't have to.

"Mr. Nakashima." I broke him out of his thoughts. "I-I'm done..." I got up and showed him my pack, grimacing a little, I had packed up all of the... bloody bits in small towels so then it wouldn't contaminate the other ingredients in the bag.

He nodded and went through it all. "Good enough." He shrugged, there were a few things that I had missed, however, it was okay, especially for the state I was currently in. "Let's go, I think we've gotten all we needed." He turned and walked back toward town.

I must have looked like a real mess on my way home, everyone kept looking towards me and backing away... not that I could blame them. Guy covered in blood and holding a scythe... not something you want to get close to. However, we made it back without much trouble, a questioning from some concerned officers, but, they quickly backed off when Mr. Nakashima intervened. Guess this wasn't the first time something like this had happened with Mr. Nakashima.

When we got back, he took the pack he had given me, but he let me keep the scythe and dagger... they were just some weapons he had made for people that either never came and got them or weren't able to pay for. I guess that was nice of him... But whenever I glanced at them... I remembered what I used them for. I walked upstairs in silence, not looking at any students that I passed by. I walked into my room, propped the scythe against the wall, unstrung my bow, and set it next to it, along with the quiver of arrows. I then knelt beside my bed, pulled out my suitcase and got a new change of clothes. I went to the bathrooms and showered.

On my way out, I simply dumped my bloody clothes into a garbage can. I wouldn't be able to get the blood out, it had been too long for me to wash it in time. I felt bad, but if it hadn't been so much, then I could live with it, but it was just smeared on there... I sighed softly and went back to the room, lying on my bed, feeling exhausted. I shut my eyes and fell into a dreamless sleep.

Osto found the 7th street church shortly after leaving the campus. He could feel the cool night air, and breathed out softly. He gently squeezed Jessie's hand, and intertwined his fingers with hers. He stopped in front of the doors of the church, and turned to Jessie. "You can go in first," he told her.

Jessy fought the urge to jerk her hand away and let him intertwine their fingers...his hand was warm, gentle...almost soothing. Once they got there and he told her to go in first she blinked and her cheeks flushed pink " OK " she let go of his hand and headed into the church

Amelia found the church, arriving just in time to see Jessy and Osto enter first. She hurried in, and dignifiedly surveyed the room. So this is what a church feels like. She felt amazing in here, but at the same time felt like a piece of her was being torn away. She shrugged the feelings aside, and began to try and figure out what types of dancing there were. She basically beautified her Pinans and Katas until they were whirling but controlled spins on the dance field.

Emanating from the church was a dim, blue glow. Considering this was a "church party," Mikkish saw no need to come in late. He was, in fact, a little early.

Many people already stood in the buildings entrance, chatting. Mikkish overheard words about other parties, where to buy pot, and who got laid. On top of that there was a liquor table in front of the pews in the main service room.

On the stage where the preacher would be, a dj was setting up his equipment. Just as Mikkish discovered this, the lights in the church changed color to purple, and a few white beams shone down before twirling.

People started dancing. More people began flooding in. Smoke began to rise in the air from various blunts. The party had just begun.

Smirking, Mikkish made his way to the liquor table. As he was getting a beer, he spotted Amelia, and decided to grab another.

"Whats up, Milly?" Mikkish shouted over the music, holding out a beer for her.

Welp it was close to time for the party in the flier. I got dressed as the rest of my things were put away. I glance at the flier one more time to make sure I knew what area to go to. "...Hmm well alright." I put on my boots tucking my knife in before leaving my room with a smile and heading out. It would take me a bit to find my way to the church but I made it there eventually. Guess be the looks of it the party started. First things first I walk to the liquor table and grab a cup before finding a place to sit and listen to the music for a bit.

Osto observed the interior of the church with interest. He watched the various people dancing in one manner or another. This was his first dance, and he had no idea what he was supposed to do. So, he decided to simply get a drink first. He walked over to where he thought the drinks would be, only to find large quantities of liquor. He grimaced. I don't believe I should have any alcohol. He decided to ask Jessie a question. "Would you like to dance Jessie?"

Jessy blinked " Um...sure if you want to, but... " she paused and mumbled something inaudible looking down at the ground half embarrassed half nervous
