Having given air support to the naval fleet, Malik brought the bird back over the city skyline. She spotted the debris flying near her passengers' drop-off point, then something smaller. She turned her attention to a familiar blonde woman with a military overcoat—Balalaika. "Beckie, did someone call for Balalaika out here?" the pilot questioned. "Powerful little contraptions," he muttered while watching the sweep of the surrounding area. Other agents appeared in clusters of five or six white dots, but one anomaly made him furrow his brow—or, more precisely, two. One was on the move. The other was barely noticeable, vanishing as suddenly as it appeared. After a moment, the former also dropped from view. The only noise that came from the supervillain was a suspicious hum.
