INTRODUCTION
Underworld Dive is a fantasy roleplay set in a modern backdrop. Deep below the Earth, entirely different fantastical worlds exist separated into layers as you travel further down -- from medieval kingdoms, to abstract realities, and if you would believe the rumors, even heaven and hell. There are various guilds divers can join to quickly form trustworthy teams for expeditions, but contract divers are just as common.
It is highly encouraged for players to create lore on the fly and build their own story arcs!
PLOT
You are a diver, an individual -- licensed or otherwise -- who makes trips into the underworld. Some dive for riches, others for artifacts of untold power, even more still desire to learn the truth of this world. Whichever the case, you find yourself in a position to accept a suspiciously high-paying assignment from a local guild. The mission is this: Travel to the fourth layer with your package, and deliver it to the client. And of course, do not open it under any circumstances.

LAYERS
- Layer 0: Earth
- 2031 Earth. Layers are a known phenomenon and are a target of vibrant social media discussion. Government action has been scaled down to a handful of covert agents, as any kind of en masse armed entry is heavily resisted by the rulers of the first layer.
- Layer 1: Wonderland
- A bizarre and colorful world often compared to the pages of fairytales. Much like Earth, Wonderland is host to a vast spectrum of environments, cultures, and strange sights. It is largely (but not entirely) governed by three factions: The King of Suns, the Queen of Moons, and the council of Diamond Knights.
- Layer 2: Ex Machina
- While just as strange as Wonderland, Ex Machina is a layer dominated by unmanned machines and artificial constructs. The Gearmaker, the supposed 'God' of this world, is often discussed but rarely seen. Moving through this layer is like solving a puzzle, and competition between travelers is fierce when those same puzzles are packed with restrictions and rules enforced by deadly means.
- Layer 3: Ashen Grave
- A bleak, apocalyptic world torn asunder by decay and corruption. Nightmarish creatures fused with haywire machinery dwell in the darkness, and in a twisted landscape full of hidden traps and reality-bending phenomena, no one is ever safe. Most adventures end here, but if word of mouth is to believed, this layer only scratches the surface of what lays below.
- Layer 4:+ ?
- Travel across the third layer is infrequent, so there are varying clashing accounts of layers deeper than Ashen Grave. Some say there is no fourth layer, others say it goes dozens or even hundreds deeper.
