Not a bad set of numbers. Not fabulous, but still not bad.

So I want to make sure, can Garudan's use cyclone's?

I will be taking the STORM Commando either way, what MOS should I take?

What sort of missions will we be undertaking?

To be 100% by the book, no, a Garudan cannot use a Cyclone. However, using my SUPREME STORYTELLER POWERS, I am going to say that they can do so, but you'll have to deal with the issue of having altered armor to fit your unique foot shape and the needs of your special atmosphere.

As far as MOS goes, the sky is the limit for you. I've been talking to Psychie, and she's going with her Paraxian with a Intelligence Specialist MOS, and is also picking the Jack-of-all-Trades Natural Aptitude bonus to get the Scout/Sniper MOS as her bonus set of skills there.

There will be many infiltration missions for you to deal with, sabotaging enemy equipment and going in places where the larger mecha of the Alpha and Beta just won't work.

Haha thank you. Yes that makes will make things a bit better for my Garudan, which I am definitely leaning towards.

So maybe something technical for MOS...what MOS would be best suited for understanding enemy technology?

One of the Mechanical packages would be good for that; such as the Mecha Engineering one. Normally, the Storm Commando can't take that MOS, but if you do what Psychie did and pick the JOAT Natural Aptitude, I'll let you get that one.

Also, you guys get to start out with your native languages plus English from the Marine Training. It doesn't make sense to me that you wouldn't know how to speak your own native lingo without having to spend an extra skill on it.

on page 25, is the list of skills everyone gets

oh wait yeah there is no native language...funny

In the book, it gives you English as your everyman skill, but I want to make sure you have your racial native language on your sheet, too.

Sweet. I presume that in order for us to know the other languages, like me learning Garudan or Zentraedi, it will take a skill.

Well, I gotta get to work, but I'm off the next two days to be able to answer any questions you guys might have and to add to the Lore thread.

I am very tempted to roll some numbers for a Bear Man and see how the two sheets would differ. Sherwood Sherwood Would you mind if I tossed the dice to see how a Karbarran would come out?

2d6 - 10, 10, 8, 10, 8, 7, 10
3d6 - 14

Hmmm. As I work on my Karbarran, I am starting to really like this character. I'm thinking that the Bear Man might be the one I go with instead of the more narrowly focused Paraxian.

Its up to you to decide which one you wish to pull in. I'm flexible.

Tell me about your Bear Man. What OCC did you decide to go with, and your MOS package(s)?

I wrote him up as a Marine Technical Officer, with the Storm Team Basic Training and Combat Engineer MOS's. I also added EOD Technician with the Natural Aptitude Bonus.

Ok, that's cool. I can work with that, assuming you pick your teddy bear for your character instead of the Amazonian.

I am also contemplating upgrading your armor from the older CVR-1 and -2 to the CVR-3, and include some of the newer Cyclones for you to go ahead and operate instead of making you wait for the upgrades. The Super Cyclones will still be a bit down the line for you, though.

Oh well good thing I go back to check up on this thread. Making a Garudan technically skilled was...difficult..as they are not as technicially inclined (coming from a tribal society with a lower technology) so now i can go more the scout combat role with them. I will get dice rolls and such here tomorrow.
