Emily blushed again and Logan smirked a little, but then she nodded. "We keep it secret from our siblings, so long as yours doesn't bring it up to them I think everything will be fine." She pointed out. A faint note of sass in her tone that usually only Logan or Nathan had the joy of hearing from her. In fact the closer Logan had gotten to Emily, he realized she could be quite sassy and sarcastic, you just had to get past that shield she kept up around herself.

"I'd say it's up to you. We'll go out there regardless tomorrow, but if you want to have a ride to make it quicker, then I'd say get your brother on board, it's not like we're going to tell him it's not a school approved field trip." Logan said with a smirk as he absently reached for his pen, twirling it between his fingers as an unconscious fidget. He was often fidgety though. They both looked up at the knock on the door and watched in faint amusement as Kael's sibling came to pick him up. The teacher looked between Ban and then Kael but nodded. Of course she had known what Kael had done and was not surprised that he was sent for to be taken home. She reminded Kael that the art club was always open to him though should he feel the need to express himself again.

When art club had finished for the day, Nathan came to pick up Emily and offered Logan a ride home too. Logan took it of course and he and Emily talked about their new ideas for the comic they were writing. Both were looking forward to the next day though and getting to go to the abandoned area to show Kael what it was all about. It

The next day Hayden walked to school with Logan, stopping by the middle school first as he went in, and then making her way towards the high school. An old red truck pulled up beside her as she walked along the sidewalk. She looked over, raising an eyebrow in question. She recognized the truck as Nathan's, having seen it plenty of times. She came to a stop as he did and watched curiously as he rolled down the passenger side window.

"Hey, want a ride the rest of the way?" He asked her. Hayden shrugged, but then nodded, climbing in. She remained silent for the first part of the drive after thanking him for the lift. Every now and then she could feel Nathan look over to her and she could practically feel that he wanted to say something.

"Is something the matter?" She asked. She looked over to him.

"Nah, I just...well I wanted to apologize for yesterday, you seemed pretty uncomfortable with Ban." He said. He was dying to ask her why that was, why what the new kid had said seemed to have affected her so much, but decided for now to keep those questions to himself. "And to point out that you're being awfully quiet with me again. I thought we had gotten past that this summer since we ended up hanging out more?" He added, smiling this time. Hayden smirked a little.

"We did...I'm just a quiet person." She pointed out. Nathan chuckled.

"That you are. Though you don't seem shy like Emily, you always just seem to be watchful." He pointed out. Hayden was taken aback by his observation. Just because he was friendly to her didn't mean she had thought he was paying that much attention to her. She shrugged.

"I like to observe." She said simply and Nathan chuckled a little again. She had been much more talkative with him over the summer, but he supposed their siblings had also been there as a buffer of sorts and it had been a few weeks since they'd seen each other, at least until the day before. He didn't think anything of it though, he didn't mind that she was quiet and he knew she wasn't being intentionally vague with him. The rest of the drive was spent in relatively comfortable silence as Nathan pulled into the school and parked. He offered Hayden a smile as they walked in together, catching quite a few stares from the other students as they passed by.

"Thank you for the ride." Hayden said, offering a shy smile before splitting away from him and going to find Delilah.

Claire stepped inside as he opened the door for him, offering a word of thanks as she looked around briefly and then back to Michael as he spoke to her. She nodded her understanding. "Got it, I'll...I'll see you later then I guess." She offered him a small smile, stepping further into the house and looking around a little more in-depth. She liked Michael, he seemed like a good guy and she felt just a little more hopeful than she had when she had first been told she would be sent as a gift. She was still a little uneasy, and not overly thrilled that she would likely have someone always watching her and reporting back to Garrett, but she knew that was to be expected. Once Michael was gone, she took her time wandering around the house and exploring every inch of it. She was genuinely curious but the new space she would be calling home. It was a nice home, simply furnished and decorated, but still warm feeling. She went to the bedrooms until she found the one where her minimal things had been brought. None of her clothes had been brought, she would have to buy new ones here so she smelled more like this town. But she had books, journals, sketch pads, and stationary...though she wasn't sure she would have much freedom to even be able to send letters to her family. She put them up and then returned to the living room, this time with one of her books to read either until someone came over, or until she decided to go to bed.

Delilah smirked as Ban arrived at school before she approached him, "Do you always get here this late?" she commented, even though it was still not even time for the first bell.

Ban sighed, he had dropped his siblings off at school, even though he was supposed to run and let them take the bus. Delilah had already made sure that she had something on him, which he didn't really care about, but his father would be upset to find out that she told everything. So, Kael convinced him to take their mother's car, so that he could pick him up later and Ban knew that he would have to play the dutiful boyfriend to Delilah if they were going to make everyone believe it. So he brought his mother's car and made sure that he was ready to play his part, "Actually, I have been in the parking lot for a bit." he said, as he stepped closer to her, "Until there is a way around it, I thought as the boyfriend, I should act as such. And as a girlfriend, you should." he said in a challenging way.

"I thought you would think so." she smiled, knowing that if he was going to play along as if it was the truth, she could at least do the same, which meant playing his little information game. "You help me and I help you. That is how things go in a relationship, right? So, I will help with your little spying, but there is another thing you have to do for me."

Ban rolled his eyes, he sighed, "And that is?"

"Ask my parents if you can take me on a date." she told him, "They like that proper polite stuff and you have to bring something for my mom and brother, you know, like a responsible boyfriend." she teased with a smirk. Ban was going to figure out a way out of this, she was sure that he wouldn't stick to her for this deal, and that meant she had to get as much of it as she could.

"Fine." he sighed as she grinned, she took his hand and he held on to hers to make it look like they were together. He played along, for now, but he was sure that his breaking point would come soon.

"Good, then we all will go to the movies, Nathan and Hayden and you and me." she said with some amusement. When Hayden come up to them, "Hey, Hayden, you up for a trip to the movies?" she said as if it was a natural thing. It was a place Delilah hadn't been in so long, she wasn't sure if it would be any fun, but Hayden had invited her before. She figured they should start small. "Logan has Art Club right? We can go and pick them up afterward."

Heaven nodded, Jacob was holding on to Kalvin in his arms as they waited at the door. Heaven had heard about the new wolf, she was excited to meet her and hoped that she was nice. Heaven was the welcome party, when Oli was away, it had been something they were natural at and it became their thing. Kalvin had already crashed when they were on the way and Jacob happen to have been the reason that Heaven had made it there with Kalvin. Jacob took responsibility for Heaven and Kalvin when Kal was away. After all, Heaven had been like family since they were pups and Kal was a good friend.

Jacob had always been the one that hung around Kal, because Chris was there. It was strange for him at first, but he wasn't shy, he made friends easily and when Heaven was younger, he had to be sure to watch out for her. Before marrying Kal, she was an orphan that was placed in Jacob's family and that meant that she was his responsibility, like any younger sibling would be for an elder. But because he was so friendly and close to Chris, most believed that he was a spy for Garrett. So, they were careful around him, most packs believed this too, but Jacob just brushed it off as bad intel and tried his best. There was no way that he could tell them he wasn't, they wouldn't believe him. And when it came to it, it wasn't completely a lie, he served his Alpha, and his Alpha could see and hear everything he did, whenever he wanted to. But Jacob was never the one to offer the information if he was asked not to.

Hayden raised an eyebrow as she approached Delilah and Ban and saw them...were they holding hands? Her gaze flicked to Ban as she coolly looked him over and then she looked to Delilah, moving to walk on her friend's other side as they made there way to go into the school. She was less surprised by Delilah and Ban holding hands than she was at Delilah's offer to go to the movies. But all of it she made sure she would ask Delilah about later. "Yeah, that sounds like a lot of fun actually." She said, she glanced around to Delilah to Ban and then again to their joined hands...it was actually really freaking her out a little. Knowing her best friend, she was sure this had to do with the plan Delilah had mentioned but they both just looked so...at ease. It was throwing her off. "I assume you mean the three of us?" She smirked. "Do I get a chance to play at being the third wheel?" She asked playfully, a teasing grin pulling at her lips as she looked ahead again, unaware yet that Delilah also planned to invite Nathan. Even if she was the third wheel, this would be amusing to see. She loved watching her best friend work.

"Ban, just so you know, Mrs. Rein likes flowers...specifically peonies and snapdragons. There's a florist not to far from the shop Mr. and Mrs. Rein run." She offered. There was a very slight edge to her tone that normally only Delilah would have been able to pick up on. She didn't like Ban, there was something about him that made her very uneasy. She was sure that was just because he was a new person and she knew nothing about him, that always made her a little uneasy. So she would offer 'help' in whatever scheme Delilah had, such as making a suggestion as to what kind of gift he should bring her mother when he went to ask her parents to take Delilah out. Even if Hayden didn't suspect Delilah had something planned, she knew Maria and Nigel well enough to know how they liked things and that they were old fashioned. She also knew enough to know that there was no way Delilah was going to be allowed to the movies if she wasn't being asked out by a military brat.

When Claire smelled new arrivals, she couldn't help as her heart started to race a little. She could sense there was a female and two males, and that helped to ease her just a little. She figured if it was Cass, the female would have just broken in somehow and caught her off guard, and if it was anyone else she had thought it would be a lone Male. Even so as she went to the door she was cautious. She opened the door carefully, being wary of whoever might be waiting for her, and was noticeably relieved when she saw who waited for her....well she didn't know them, but when she saw the small child, for some reason that helped to put her more at ease. Not to mention, the male and female with the child seemed slightly more relaxed than many of the other wolves she had met so far....not that she had met very many yet. These wolves must be....what did Michael say their names was? Oh, the Benedicts, that was right. After all how many others would there be coming to see her who had a small child.
"Hi, Michael said someone might be coming over, won't you come in?" She offered. She opened the door wider for them, allowing them inside. She offered them a polite smile. "Is there anything I can get you? We don't have much here yet, but the house was stocked with a few things...oh! I'm Claire, by the way." She said, offering them another smile.

Ban could feel the uneasiness between him and Hayden, but that was something to be expected. Delilah smiled, "Great. So, " she turned to Ban, "Now you get your turn. See you at lunch?"

Ban sighed and nodded, "Yeah. I'll find him." he said, as he let go of Delilah, and moved through the crowd.

Delilah grinned, "Nice add on." she stated as she moved closer to Hayden, "And your secret is safe." she assured Hayden. She had planned to tell Hayden sooner, but they hadn't really got too much of a chance to talk when it was boiling in her head. She had details that she had to figure out and that included stuff she still was figuring out. But she grinned, "Nice suggestion. My mother won't know what hit her." she said excitedly to be able to finally be out of the house. "So, what do you think? Should we eat as a group or do you want to just get to know Ban?"

************************************
Ban was quick to find Nathan, it was, after all, his skill. He understood Nathan had friends, something he had noticed before. He just had to find the friends that he would be around and that was not too hard. "Nathan." he called, not really caring to get too close to the group. He motioned Nathan over, "I have to talk to you." he said, "About your sister." he added. It wasn't just the fact that his brother had asked him to pick them up, but it was something that he had to talk to Nathan about if he was picking her up. Not to mention that he had to ask him about the moves, all things he really didn't want to have ears on him for. He didn't like when people knew about his life.

Heaven smiled as she walked in, Jacob comes in short behind her carrying Kalvin, "No, thanks. I just wanted to welcome you to the pack." Heaven smiled when she was in, she motioned Jacob to the living room and he moved through the room to the couch to lay Kalvin down. He sighed when he did and Heaven spoke, "My name is Heaven Benedict and that little boy is my son, Kalvin. This is my brother Jacob Seph. My husband hasn't come back, but I am sure he will be happy to meet you when we have the ceremony." she said as she stretched out her hand, "I am kind of the welcome crew. Kalvin normally comes with cookies, but we, unfortunately, had a busy day." she smiled.

Jacob came to the two women, "Hi. Sorry for the late call. I am just going to take a quick lap around. You are pretty much near the pack range edge, don't want to end up getting any danger around here, when you are alone." he offered a smirk before he started first to the back of the house.

"Jacob is kind of protective. You get used to it." Heaven offered, "Claire is a very lovely name? What pack are you from? How has your first day been?"

Hayden frowned a little. 'Find him?' What had Ban meant by that. She shook her head a little and then smirked, linking her arm with Delilah's. "Thank you Del. I-I know it shouldn't be something I should be so worried about, but we've tried hard to get away from that life, I don't want it to be something others know about." She said with a sigh. She knew Delilah knew that, but she was still ever so grateful to her friend. But then she smiled. "Besides, I'm sure it doesn't hurt to have a good excuse to get your parents to let you out of the house." She said with a laugh. "I do want details though, anything and everything you can tell me so far, I want to know it all." She grinned mischievously. But then she thought about Delilah's question.
"Wait...what do you mean? Like just you, me and Ban versus just me and Ban?" She asked. Still unaware that Nathan was part of this. She thought about it a minute. "I think as a group will be better this first time. I don't think I want to be alone with Ban yet....but I do want the opportunity. I want to see how he acts when it's just us" She giggled then. "Of course I can also imagine that'll be a pretty silent meal if it was just the two of us. But what kind of friend would I be if I didn't make sure your new boy toy wasn't right for you?" She asked in mock sweetness, casting Delilah a grin. Only with her best friend did she act like this, let this side of her out. And compared to Delilah she was pretty tame, but it was still more than most anyone else saw.

=+=+=

Nathan looked up from the friends he was chatting with. He was surprised that Ban had come looking for him and offered a curious smile as he excused himself from the group and went over to Ban. When Ban mentioned his sister though, he frowned. "What's up? What about my sister?" He asked. He wasn't sure if he should be worried or not. He hoped it was nothing. Emily and Logan had told him about Kael, the new 'friend' they had made during art club and had helped him connect that Kael was Ban's younger brother. He assumed it had something to do with that but it didn't stop him from being a little concerned. Emily was his baby sister after all and he was protective of her.

Claire felt herself almost immediately at ease with Heaven and Jacob. She was still a little wary, but there was something about them that let her feel like she could actually relax around them. She watched as Jacob went to check things out and then to the exhausted Kalvin and smiled a little before returning her attention to Heaven.
"I don't mind." She said to his protectiveness. A small part of her couldn't help but to wonder if it was also a way for them to make sure she was staying in line, but she would say nothing of that, it was to be expected after all. "And I look forward to a chance to meet you husband. It's nice to meet you though." She said, leading Heaven to the kitchen where she could still see her sleeping son but where they could also talk without having to whisper so as not to wake the sleeping child.

"Thank you, Heaven is a beautiful name also." Claire smiled a little more broadly this time. "I came from the Autumn Pack, it's one of the ones that practically borders a side of Moonlight. It's been...and adjustment. There is still so much I don't understand about the pack or how its run. I am eager to learn though, if this is to be my new home, it's only right that I become acquainted with it as soon as possible. Do you work in the town?" She asked Heaven curiously.

Delilah smirked as she leaned into Hayden, "I mean for lunch." she chuckled, "I mean, you two have to play nice, for this to work." she grinned, she had no use in teasing when she was in the plan. The focus was to get points A and B and end the plan with her victory. "Since mom and dad want me to date a military brat, I made a deal. Ban is my boyfriend, so I won't tell his little secrets, and I will help him get others' secrets, like a good girlfriend. Also, you secret no one is ever going to know, he won't tell it or mention it ever again, trust me." she grinned, "Plus, I get to get out of the house and store, with him as my boyfriend. It's a deal. One he couldn't refuse, his parents are military and the way he moves, I know they taught him stuff they shouldn't have. They could get in real trouble and maybe even be ruined, as parents and military personal if anyone found out. It would crush his whole family what I could tell people, but I won't, as long as he plays my boyfriend perfectly." she assured Hayden, "And that is the plan, for now. Things are going to get rocky, after a while, so I have to make sure my parents don't find out about the deal or they will never let me date again." she pointed out.

*******************
Ban shrugged, "My brother told me that she needs a ride because they were going to spend some time together with some kid name Logan. Told him that I would clear it with you first." he stated as if it was nothing. After all, Kael told him that h made new friends and wanted to get to know them a lot better, "Apparently they convinced him to try something new, so they have an art club after school." he stated. Then he sighed, "And since that is the case, I wanted to be sure that was fine with you and to invite you to the movies while they did that. So, we could hang out, if Kael was going to be with them. If they are good kids, that is? Kael is not good by himself."

Heaven smirked, "Yeah, I work at the diner. It is owned by the Shaffer's Coven witches. I am a waitress there." she said to Claire's question. She sighed, as she looked back at her son, "Yeah, this pack is a lot more complicated than a few that I have heard of. Garrett is a hard wolf to get to know or like, but he does his best to keep his pack strong and everything he does is for his pack." she smiled, as she looked back at Claire, "We all do our part to protect and serve the pack." she explained. "I was an orphan, not sure who my parents were, they could have been from this pack or from a different pack. But there is an orphanage that is Damian works in, he is a witch. Before him, it was actually Garrett's post, when we had a different Alpha." she chuckled, "Spend a few minutes with Garrett, in his true form, and you will be surprised that he knows what it is to be gentle. But that is where he met Alice, his Luna. And she still actually still works there. Garrett's last act as in the orphanage was sending me to the Seph."

Heaven sighed, as she smiled at Claire, "Be careful. Garrett took over and he plays the nice guy a lot, but he is just as bad and worse than the stories that trial around about him. When he took over, he didn't just kill the Alpha, he killed the Alpha's Luna and eldest. He tossed the youngest into serving as his spy in the police force and brought back the dark ages ritual that links all wolves to him. He is no one the pack fears, he loves us, but those that are outside, like you. One wrong step and he will kill you without hesitation. Your pack can't protect you anymore and the fact that your Alpha walked out with our own and not in a body bag is something you should be impressed with. There have been several packs that have wanted to ally with us, but the only ones he has allowed to do so, are those around us. Those on the other side, he kills their Alphas, if they come here or sends Cass, and she enjoys it. " she warned, with concern in her eyes, "You seem like a sweet wolf and I wouldn't want to remember you that way. Cassandra is primal, her mind is not right and she thinks like we did when we were first created before we started to group into packs. She is not someone that you want to face off again." Heaven reached her hand out to Claire, with a half-smile, " What your step, okay? I would love for you to fully join this pack and hope the best for your pack because the Moonlight Pack was once powerful through respect alone."

Hayden laughed as Delilah corrected her misunderstanding and shrugged. "I'm playing nice." She said with a grin. "I told him what flowers to bring your mom after all." She hummed in thought. "I suppose I could have lunch with just him, for just a short time, maybe you have to drop something off somewhere leaving us alone for like five or ten minutes, and I could hint at what he could bring your brother before you come back. If your parents are going to let you go out with him the first time they're ever hearing of him, he's got to really woo them." She said, still smiling. Her smile faded a little as Delilah explained her plan to her, an eyebrow raising as she told her pieces of the secrets she had found out about Ban. Well that explained a lot and explained why she was so uneasy around him. She knew he couldn't know Delilah told her any of the serious stuff though, even if it wasn't in detail. Not if she wanted her friend's plan to work.
"Don't worry Del. I'll make sure I do whatever I can to help your plan go for as long as it can....if only so we can hang out more outside of the shop or my house." She said with a partially teasing grin.

=+=+=

Nathan blinked, not really sure what he had expected to hear - possibly far more surprised by Ban's invitation to go to the movies more than anything else - but then he shrugged. "I don't mind. Logan is Hayden's younger brother - the quiet one you met yesterday." He knew there was no point in clarifying that, Ban seemed to have an excellent memory. He was curious where the three would be going that they needed a ride for art club, but he knew sometimes Emily and Logan liked to check out different places for references. "But yeah, I don't mind them all hanging out. And as for the movies....uh...sure?" He eyed Ban a little uncertainly. He hadn't seemed to like Nathan at all the day before. "Sounds like fun. I can meet you at the theater after you drop the kids off if you want?" He offered. He was curious if anyone else was going to be there or not, the most he had seen Ban interact with anyone the day before was Delilah and Hayden and from his standpoint, that hadn't exactly been an interaction that would make him think either girl would be present.

Claire listened carefully to everything Heaven was saying. She was interested to learn, and even if it was just a little, it was still something. Besides, Heaven seemed like a really nice girl and she was interested in what she had to say about everything. Claire did tense a little as Heaven explained what would happen if she stepped out of line...if her pack stepped out of line. She supposed she wasn't too surprised though, not with the rumors she had heard about the Moonlight pack...though it seemed many may not have been rumors after all. She also found it curious when Heaven mentioned Cass. She thought Michael had said no one knew about is sister? Perhaps she had misunderstood, though she did know it was clear not to talk about the female, so even if Heaven seemed to know about her, Claire didn't ask about it.
"I'll be sure to be careful. It's my intent to become part of this pack as much as I can as an outsider. I'm was sent to be a token of goodwill after all, to be Michael's. If I mess it up here, I'm dead either way, so being useful and fitting in is my only choice." She said quietly with a small shrug. Either her screw up would be bad enough for Garrett to have her killed or she would be deemed useless, and even if she were lucky enough to only be cast out, she would not be allowed back to the Autumn pack. Her failure to her duty would result either in being disowned or killed. She was worried about the fate of her pack though. If only because her sister and best friend were still there and for them, she would do anything. "Maybe I'll get to see you around more? Do you think I would be allowed to get a job here?" She asked. Maybe a job at the dinner would be a good one. Lots of people to keep an eye on her and lots of ways for her to be useful. Or perhaps there would be somewhere else she could work to be of use to the pack.

Delilah smirked, "Oh, I can get out of the way, if you think you two can survive each other." she said with a plan in her voice. She could take the chance to talk to Nathan about what he thought of Hayden. From what she heard, Hayden was at Nathan's a lot and that made her a little concerned. Nathan was the good guy in school, but outside of school, she had to make sure that Nathan understood that she wasn't going to let him take her best friend. Not to mention that she wanted to know what they had so much time to do. Logan and Emily were friends, that was fine, but why was Hayden always there and who's idea was it? Delilah had her own secrets to find out and she was going to make sure that her best friend never got into any situation that could make her memories of her father come back. Or worse.
****************************************
Ban nodded as he listened, that explained a lot. There was something that he felt was wrong, but there was something about how Nathan said it, that made him think that Kale might actually be in good hands with the other two. "Fine." he stated, as he sighed, "Just making sure. Kael has lied before." he stated, more as a standoff comment as he looked around, there was some strange glances to him and Nathan and he motioned, "I'm guessing the attention is normal for you." he stated, in a way to make small talk. "I have to take Delilah home and then I will meet you there. Kael said that they should be done in two hours, so I just need to pick them up at some address, he will give me after school." he told Nathan.
************************************
Kael found Emily with Logan, coming up behind her, he bumped her shoulder, "Hey. My brother will pick us up from the building. I just need the address before school is done. And apparently, he is probably going to be with his girlfriend. So high schooler named Delilah, so I can middle seat." he stated. He smiled at the pair, he had wanted to take the window and have Emily in the middle, but while he was still new, he was going to have to make sure that Logan was cool with him hanging around. After all, the last thing he wanted to do was get into a fight. Logan was kind of a cool kid to be around. "So, did you guys bring your 'art' supplies with you?" he grinned.
Heaven nodded, "I am sure that you will be expected to get a job. Find a connection with its place, so that you have something to be loyal to." she stated as she sighed, "Sorry, if it sounds like things are really bad, I don't mean to worry you." she said as she moved to take a seat. She motioned to the chair near her on the table she sat, "Seat. Jacob should be back soon. We can talk about what it is like to be in the pack if you want to know?" she offered. She knew what it was like to be the wolf that was more to keep the bond of the pack with the witches than as a warrior. "I am not like Jacob or my husband, but we all play our part for our pack. I can let you know what it is like to be the other wolf of the pack and Jacob can let you know how being a warrior works here. You can be what you want here, you know? As long as it serves the pack." she assured Claire.

There was a lot that the pack did as a whole, and warning Claire what it was like to be part of this pack was something she felt she should do before Jacob could come into earshot. Heaven loved her pack, but she was not blind about what her pack was. Her pack was ruthless, vicious, and never took prisoners. They were the thing to be afraid of in the dark, that was what they had become since they lost their Alpha LIne and had another start. And that was what she wanted to be sure Claire understood, that as long as she was loyal to this pack and not her old pack, she should be fine. "Micahel isn't a bad guy, he is actually pretty sweet. He is not really built for being Beta, but for now, that is what he has to be." she stated, as she smiled, "You know, I am sure that Chris will be happy to let his brother go on with his life a different way when he can. But for now, Garrett wants his own to be in the leading spot. Until Chris takes over, Michael has no other option, either. You two are probably not of a fit than just as a gift, would have it." she commented.

Hayden smirked a little. "I think we'll manage, at the worse it'll be awkward and silent." She said playfully. She may not be trained like Ban was or have the skill that he did, but she was an observer, and she was relatively decent at reading people...well normal people. Ban seemed anything but, but she liked to believe even the silence could offer clues about someone if you were looking. She could handle a lunch period alone with Ban. As they entered their homeroom class, Hayden changed the subject a little now that there were more prying ears.
"Does Elliot still like those little model cars and planes? Maybe I should suggest something like that as a gift for him." She offered playfully. She adored Elliot. He was nothing like his sister, and Hayden didn't spend much time with him except for when he happened to be at the house the same time as Delilah and Hayden when they hung out, but he was a sweet boy. He had showed Hayden his collection of little model cars and planes and trains the last time she had been over. Many were toys, but he enjoyed collecting them.

Nathan raised an eyebrow, still sort of surprised by the whole interaction. "I mean, I've never known Emily to lie, though she's pretty quiet and shy. Logan can have a little more of a...wild streak, but he's protective of Emily. Even if they were lying he wouldn't be okay with them doing something that could put her in trouble." He said a little uncertainly. He knew that his ex had taken Emily to the abandoned buildings, knew that she and Logan still went out there sometimes and that they tried to keep it a secret. Usually when he knew they were going out, he'd make sure he was extra alert to how long they were gone. However, it didn't occur to him that, that's what they would be doing this time.
Nathan looked around as Ban pointed to the students who looked to them now and then and shrugged. "They're harmless...well as harmless as teens can be." He muttered. When Ban mentioned Delilah, Nathan wasn't so sure he had heard right.
"Delilah? Delilah Rein?" He said in utter amazement. He might have even laughed out of shock except that didn't feel right either. He just let out a small huff of amusement and shook his head a little. "Okay, yeah that sounds good. I can give you the address to the theater if you want, but it's pretty easy to find. It's at the center of town practically." He said.

=+=+=

Emily startled as Kael bumped his shoulder against hers, looking over quickly and then unable to help as she smiled when she saw him. "Hey man." Logan said by way of greeting, around Emily who now walked between them. They veered to the edge of the hallway so they were out of the way and Emily pulled out a spare sheet of paper while Kael spoke to write down the address for him. She stopped midway though and both she and Logan looked to Kael in surprise.
"Delilah?" She said, her surprise evident. She shook her head a little and finished writing the address, handing it over to Kael. "Make sure no one else sees that, they'll know where we're going...especially Delilah." She warned, a little bit of worry creeping into her voice.

"Dude, is she going to be with us when your brother drops us off? She's my sister's best friend." Logan explained. Delilah wasn't the type who would be bothered by them going out to the abandoned buildings. Logan wouldn't worry at all except for her loyalty to Hayden. He wasn't sure if she would spill to his sister or keep it to herself. He'd never been able to figure her out except to know like everyone that she was a bit wild and protective of Hayden. He also couldn't help but to smile though. "But yeah, have a good stash of supplies hidden away." he added triumphantly. He kept some in his locker and some in his bag. As long as he was on his best behavior he wasn't worried about any teachers searching either and finding the various cans of spray paint.

Claire listened curiously to what Heaven had to say. She nodded some. "I would love to hear anything and everything you can share with me." She admitted. She was nervous, but she didn't have the choice to fail. Then she smiled. "He seems sweet, I do look forward to the opportunity to get to know him better. I was actually pretty nervous about who I was being married off to. I didn't have a say, wouldn't have, but I am relieved that it is to someone who seems so sweet." She admitted quietly to Heaven. "You know, if it's okay, I would love too if we can meet up again...especially if you and Jacob aren't here long tonight, it would be nice to have a friend." She added. Maybe it was bold of her to presume she and Heaven could be friends or that the female would want to be. But she seemed so genuine and kind, and a little more understanding of Claire's position of an outsider, that Claire was very hopeful they could become friends.

Delilah sighed, nodded with some annoyance, "Yeah, he just got a new model car to build, yesterday." she assured Hayden, "I swear, he takes so much time wasted on those things. He needs friends." she said. Delilah loved her brother, she just couldn't help dislike the attention he got. Their parents loved Elliot, he listened and behaved, he had a smart and safe habit and loved being in this town so much, he wasn't even planning on leaving for college. Delilah heard him talking about going to the little college a town over, just to stay near this stupid town. Delilah had other plans, she wanted to have a life away from this place. She wanted to explore the world and see what it had.
********************************
Ban looked at him curiously, "Yeah, that Delilah." he answered as he looked back at the 'harmless' teens, "There is nothing harmless about annoyances like that." he stated. The attention was something that he didn't want. It was why he didn't want anything to do with Nathan, but at this point, he didn't have a choice. So, he would do what he had to do. He turned to leave, before stopping and saying to Nathan, "Be careful with that." he said, "I never let it get to the point, but Teenage Girls are not the type you want to ignore." he said. It was a fact that as a teenage boy, he knows Nathan wouldn't understand. But Ban had to grow up faster than any teenager, he knew what teenage girls could do to each other. It would make being around another girl hard. He made a point to seem unapproachable, but Nathan was the opposite, he was an open door.
*********************************
Kael smirked, "Good." he said as he walked with them, "I wouldn't want to waste any time." he said as he thought of something. "You know, we should have a competition. See who is the fastest." he smirked. Kael had a lot of practice with spray paint, he did it on some frames all the time, in his room, because that was the only place that his brother let him do it. But he liked to win and that meant that he had to have a challenge, which is what he was sure that his new 'friends' could be.
Heaven smiled, nodding, "Yeah, we are going to be good friends." she assured her, "But wait until you meet Oli. She is a strong well wolf, well you have to be to have Chris as a mate, I guess. Garrett and Oli bump heads a lot, in fact, but she was really sweet and she will like you a lot, I think." she said as Jacob came in.

"Everything looks okay. But I found some tracks. You okay to stay here?" Jacob asked Heaven as he walked in.

Heaven nodded, "Something bad?" she asked curiously.

Jacob shook his head, "I don't think so. But it's hard to tell until I find out what made the tracks. Probably just an animal. But I want to make sure before he leave." he nodded to Claire, "Micahel will link with me when he gets here, so I think to be safe, you and Heaven should stay here until he does."

Heaven nodded as she turned to Claire, "We will be okay here. If you want I can check if anyone is nearby. I am not much of a fighter, but Garrett has the border patrolled by members that are. " she said as Jacob left again. "Just as a precaution." she suggested.

Hayden giggled a little. "Well, then I'll make sure to mention that to Ban too...if he wins over your brother, your parents will be completely sold." She grinned. She knew it would take time for him to win over Delilah's father, but if he could win Elliot and charm Maria early on, and then of course keep it up, then Delilah might be able to get away with this for a little while. "Oh, speaking of, while you two are off to win over your parents, I have to run by the flower shop to get some stuff for my mom, so I'll meet you guys at the theater okay?" She offered as she pulled out her notebooks.

=+=+=

Nathan, for all his popularity and friendliness, was rather unaware of how horrible teenage girls could be to one another. He knew they got in fights, knew they could get into petty competitions and arguments, but he hadn't witnessed the true extent of how awful they could be to one another. He watched Ban curiously, but then nodded a little, showing that he would take to mind what Ban had said. He wasn't overly fond of some of the attention he got anyway. Maybe he'd take Ban's advice and be a little more careful about how he interacted with people.

=+=+=

Logan grinned and nodded. "Excellent." he praised at the idea of a competition. He loved that idea, it would add an exciting challenge to the whole thing that he was looking forward to. Emily just rolled her eyes a little and then looked to Kael.

"You have to be more specific than that if you want it to be exciting. Fast is good and all, but how much detail you can put into it to make it extraordinary in a short time I think would be more interesting don't you?" She asked. Logan looked to her in surprise. She was still shy and withdrawn, but she had been more open and forward with Kael than most new people. Heck even more than she had been with Logan the first few months of their friendship. But art was her domain, it was where she felt the most confident and evidently the most competitive too.

"What do you suggest?" Logan asked, grinning again.

"Fastest is part of the competition. But it's timed and in that time you have to make the best piece." She offered, glancing between Logan and Kael.

As lunch time came around, Hayden found Delilah first. As far as she knew, Delilah would help instigate getting her, Hayden, and Ban all in one place, and then excuse herself to leave Hayden and Ban alone to...bond? Or at least pretend to bond for the sake of Delilah's plan. Hayden wasn't sure what Delilah would do while she was gone or what excuse she would make. She wasn't even sure if Ban would stick around once Delilah had left, but Hayden supposed it was all worth a shot at least.

Claire smiled. "Michael said something about her too. I look forward to getting the opportunity to meet her." She said. She looked over to Jacob as he came back in, tensing just a little as he mentioned that something had been outside. She wasn't sure why it made her nervous. Most wild animals weren't going to mess with a wolf and even in human form she could extend her teeth and claws still for defense when needed.
Either way she was relieved the Jacob was looking into it, and though she hated to admit it, relieved that Heaven would be sticking around too. "Thank you Jacob." She said, offering a smile. She offered thanks to Heaven as well.
"I think we'll be fine, you don't have to go check. I am curious though, what are the rules here about shifting?" She asked. In case they needed to for some reason for defense, she wanted to know, but she also figured it would be good to know for just in general as well.

Delilah sighed, "Okay, but don't be late. I am pretty sure my parents are going to swing by to make sure you will be there with us." she said.

**********************************
Kael smirked as he looked at Emily, "I knew there was a reason I liked you." He said as he placed his arm around her shoulder, and Logan's, "I think we are going to make quite a team." he smiled as he walked with them, "And here I thought moving schools was just going to be as dull as military schools." he stated.
**********************************
At lunch, Delilah had told Ban what she had learned about her teachers and classmates so far, as per their deal, and when they got to the table to wait for Hayden, she explained that she was going to let Hayden and him get to know each other. There was no point in lying to him, Ban was going to figure out, with an excuse, that it was a plan and that he was being trapped. But that was why they had decided to do it, because he had to get used to Hayden and Delilah and the way that they worked.
Heaven smirked, as Jacob nodded, but still went to check, she looked to Claire, "The only rule for shifting is to kill what sees you shift unless it is one of us. Garrett very admits that no human can see us shift and if they do, you have to kill that human, unless it is a coven witch. And don't shift if you don't think you can bit what you are attacking" she stated. She was sure that Claire would be okay after they left, but Jacob was going to be sure. "But Jacob will check anyway, after all, for the time being, you are the mate of the Beta, making you the second most important female in the pack. And unlike Oli, you can't refuse the protection." she pointed out.

****************************************
When Alpha Richard was home, before he entered, work sighed, as he made sure the knot was tight. York and Cora had come ahead, the enforcers of Garrett that made sure to get to the pack Alpha's home before the Alpha did. They had tied his family up in chairs facing the door and stood behind them, waiting for his arrival. They felt him enter the pack and they knew when he was close. When he opened the door, York sighed even deeper, "I wouldn't move." he said, "We are just here for a chat."

Cora smirked, "But if you do move, your mate will be the first to feel every step." she assured the Alpha.

"Alpha Garrett sent us." York stated before Cora could explain what she meant, "After what happened with the other pack, it is important for your pack and for you that you understand just how close you are going to be watched for the moment."

" Alpha Garrett doesn't want you to get any ideas." Cora stated. "The mark you have is more than just your free pass into the town, after all. As he explained."

"Cora," York warned, she was a little on edge, they had come from a mission that needed more force than this one, but he understood why she was on her guard. They were supposed to come together because only one would not be able to deal with Richard alone and even the both of them might not survive a real fight with this Alpha. "Sorry if this is a little extreme, but you have to understand, we had more plans for the last pack, and for what they did, they didn't end up on top but at the same time, we had to change those plans. We have plans for your pack too. Best for you to be there when we fulfill them. For the benefit of your pack and ours. So, each pack must get this treatment, I'm afraid."

Hayden promised her friend she wouldn't be late to the theater. She showed up to lunch a little later than she'd planned, but not so much so that it was too noticeable. She smiled brightly when she saw Delilah, but her smile faltered a little when she saw Ban. She offered him a nod though and then took her seat. She had brought her own lunch that day and pulled it out of her bag now. She waited to say anything until Delilah had left and even then she wasn't really sure what to say.
"Delilah wants us to get to know each other better. I don't trust you, but I want to make sure things go well." She finally said, deciding to just be honest. She also wanted to feel out a little how much he knew about her...or at least how much he would reveal he knew....she didn't expect much. She looked up to him, meeting his gaze, studying him.

Nathan didn't go out to the courtyard for lunch like he normally did. In fact he was held back by one of his teachers for a little while to go over and assignment and when he was finally let go, he didn't really feel like eating in such a busy place. So he found a nice secluded and quiet area where students sometime ate their lunches and settled in. He didn't know Delilah had planned to come talk to him, but he wouldn't mind either.

=+=+=

Emily tensed a little as Kael first put his arm around her shoulder, but then relaxed. Logan had noticed and only seemed to put on that smile once he saw her relax. "I get the feeling this afternoon is going to be a lot of fun." Logan agreed. And even Emily smiled, excited for what was to come. She felt like she was breaking so many rules and she didn't like that feeling, but she was also excited to see how things turned out with Kael.

Claire nodded, taking in what Heaven had said. So shifting was okay, just don't get caught. That wouldn't be too bad. Richard had been very strict about shifting around humans, though the town they shared with them was a little bit further away from the compound in the forest where she had grown up. At Heaven's words about her importance, Claire's surprise was evident. She hadn't thought about that part of it all.
"Oh...I...well then I guess I should really be thankful for yours and Jacob's protection." She said with a small smile. She wasn't entirely sure how she felt about that fact, but she didn't plan to make things difficult for Heaven or Jacob.

=+=+=

When Richard arrived to find his mate bound and held captive, it took everything in him not to immediately attack the wolves with her. He wanted to tear them limb from limb for even touching her. He wanted to rip out Garrett's throat for the insult of sending his wolves to threaten him and his pack. He let out a low warning growl to Cora and York, fighting every instinct to lunge at them and tear them to shreds.
"I made an alliance with Alpha Garrett. I didn't plan on going back on my word. Does he really think I am so stupid? Especially with my pack as weak as it is? If I thought we could take him on I wouldn't have called for an alliance." He snapped. Granted, he had planned to use the alliance to learn as much as he could about Moonlight, but he was not stupid. His pack was still weak, badly so after a war they'd had with one of their other neighboring pack. They desperately needed Moonlight and its protection. But even if he'd had ulterior motives, the blatant showing of disrespect to him still made his blood boil....though not as much as seeing his mate, wide eyed and terrified as she was used as leverage to keep him under control.
"If you have nothing else to insult me about, nothing else to share for you alpha, then I suggest you get the hell out of my home." He snarled, the very growl seeming to rumble along with him as he stared down Cora and York. He was fairly certain he could take both of them, but not with his mate being held hostage.

"I have noticed." Ban said as Delilah left them and he listened to Hayden, "But Delilah told you about the deal and for the sack of my siblings, I will make sure that it does." he stated as he sighed. "Look, we only have to play nice and act like friends in front of her parents. Keep your side and I will keep mine." he said. There was no point in trying to make her understand what kind of guy he was, he didn't let anyone know what kind of guy he was, because that was something that could backfire. He had always been the caring child, the reason his father wanted to get it out of him, was because he had a big heart, as his mother told him. He was responsible for his siblings, and anyone he was responsible for, was more important than anything he had, to him. The fact that Hayden wanted to understand him, was fine, but there was no point to him, they hardly knew each other and he didn't see a reason for him to know her if he was just playing Delilah's boyfriend. It might be different if he was her boyfriend, but since Hayden knew the truth, there was no reason to lie.
*************************************************
Delilah found Nathan and she was not shy about approaching him, she glared at some girls that saw her and watch them scatter as she did. Delilah didn't ask to sit down, either, she sat beside Nathan and looked at him, "So, what is up with you and Hayden? You spend all summer together and then you two act like it never happened? And obviously, that means that I have to find out what happened and what you plan to happen next? Because you must know by now, that I am not exactly the type to let things go." she smiled at him, but her tone said that she wanted an answer nd a good, honest one too.

Heaven smirked, "Well, Jacob is very good at protection and while Kalvin is here, he can be a little much. I can't really protect you, but I can keep you company." she offered. Heaven wasn't a fighter, she was supposed to start her training when she was 17, but she had gotten pregnant before then and she never had the time that she needed to learn. Instead, she was the mother, she could protect her child, but that was all she was really good for and that was what she was going to be. She regretted the fact that she couldn't protect Claire, but she was grateful for the child she had and the power that he was sure he would have.

***********************************************
Cora smirked, "He looks like he wants to attack." she challenged.

York sighed, as he looked at Richard, for a moment glancing at Cora, warning her to stay quiet, "No." he said as he turned back to Richard, "That isn't the last of what we have to say." he told the Alpha. "This was not an insult and you might not be stupid, but you are not exactly unaware of how our pack is." he said as he stepped towards the Alpha, Cora staying beside the Alpha's mate, "But you will. And this is the threatening part. Because I promised to deliver every detail my Alpha wanted to be clear to you." he stated, "Your gift, was good, but if you and her step over your design lines, we will return her slice by slice, and then, you will know a part of the Moonlight pack that only one other Alpha, knows of. Your mate, will not be tied up, your pack will not be left untouched and just to be clear of that. In two days, your war buddy, the pack you faced that still has some numbers on you, will be an example of what will happen to your mate and every pup in this pack. So, I would take a trip there, because wolves rip their enemies apart. But the beast you will find, will wipe everything to pieces and play with it like a child trying to figure out what makes it tick. You haven't been insulted just yet, but you will be if you don't take this threat seriously and made sure to visit that pack. The river of blood will make your stomach turn, as it should. Your alliance to the Moonlight is only as strong as your loyalty to the agreement." York raised his hand and Cora untied the Alpha's mate, "We are here to protect you. But that doesn't mean we can't destroy you. You have what our Alpha wants and that is the only reason that you exist. I'm sorry, but you needed to understand, just how much my Alpha is willing to do." he said, as Cora smirked.

"Have a good night." she moved passed the Alpha, "We will see you at the enemy's territory in two days, be ready to take it."

"As a gift, from us to you. For your loyalty. And again, sorry for the mess. Your mate was a little surprised." he said, with some remorse, before turning to his mate, "Thank you again for the tea and again, I am sorry about this." he gave a half-smile, "My Alpha can be a little much." he offered before he left, behind Cora.

Hayden smirked a little and sat back. Normally she was discreet while she studied the people around her, she didn't bother with Ban. "You know we'll be around each other a lot...at least at the start. Delilah's parents, should they approve of you as her boyfriend, won't let the two of you on your first couple of "dates" without me there." She warned him. Whether Delilah wanted her there or not, but part of this was for them to spend time together too. "Oh, and by the way, Elliot, Del's little brother, loves model cars and planes and trains. The flowers for her mother and a gift for her brother will win you almost instant favor and make things easier going forward." She added, keeping her gaze on him. No, she wasn't as discerning as he was, or as outspoken and tough as Delilah, but she would still do whatever she had to for her friend.

=+=+=

Nathan raised an eyebrow, a small smirk tugging at the corners of his lips as Delilah approached him in her very forward way. He was surprised by her line of questioning though and let out a sigh as he sat back. He looked at her a moment, studying her, and then he shrugged.
"Most of our time spent together this summer was acting as baby sitters to two thirteen year olds who definitely didn't need to be baby sat. We didn't exactly spend time just us together it was always with Em and Logan." He started. Had Hayden said something to her? He wasn't really sure where this was all coming from...well not exactly, he knew Delilah was protective of Hayden, but he wasn't sure if that was all this was. "I'd like to be her friend, but..." He hesitated, then decided Delilah was the only one he'd ever admit any of this to. "I graduate next year, then I leave for college. A relationship beyond friendship with an under classman would be difficult. Besides, Hayden made it seem pretty clear she wasn't really interested in anything, that she was just being polite because we were put together so often during the summer. She...I can't figure her out, she'd not the most open person, and I don't know how to handle that. But Delilah, I have no intention of hurting her. I would like to be her friend if she wanted it too." He said. He didn't know how to explain the summer. Sure he'd spoken to Hayden more then than he ever had, but she was always so guarded. Every now and then he'd bring something up in small talk and it was like she would withdraw and he didn't really know what to do in those moments. But he tried to make sure she was always comfortable with him around and he thought he was making real progress. They the week before school started they didn't see each other or speak because of their schedules and when they got to school it was like things had gone back to how they'd always been before. Polite exchanges and nothing more.

Claire grinned. "I don't mind that, I would really like the company." She said. She was just trying to remain hopeful that nothing bad would happen, at least not that night. And if it did? Status or no she would fight to help protect Kalvin and Heaven, she wouldn't want the child to lose his mother because of some stranger. "Well, I guess if we have time to talk, is there anything about the pack that I should learn right away?" She asked curiously.

=+=+=

Richard paled as he listened to the two wolves. Sure, he didn't care if his enemies were slain, but the brutality that they hinted at? What sort of monster did that just to make a point to their allies? "I understand." He finally said as Cora walked past him. It took fighting every instinct not to snarl and lunge for her. Then he looked to York as he apologized for the mess. His calm demeanor and politeness in stark contrast to the warnings and threats and the mess they'd made of his house. Once his mate was free, she ran to him. He took her in his arms and shielded her away from the two wolves as they left his house.
"Alpha Garrett will get what he wants from us, I have no intention of turning against him....and I will be to the enemy's territory in two days." He growled. It wasn't a threatening growl, just one that escaped him after trying to hold it in for so long. His anger only increasing as his mate began to cry once the two wolves were fully out of the house.

Ban nodded, "I can think of something that might interest him. My father used to bring my brother military models, a few haven't been open." he said, as he thought of how some were just gathering dust. A few that had been made, Kael destroyed when his father decided that Ban was more important to be around, or at least that was how Kael made it sound. Ban glanced to Hayden as she wanted him, "You want to know how much, don't you?" he asked, his face was calm and as ease, as he leaned in, "About why you are here, that I know about?" he added, more in a whisper. He promised no one would know, but the way she looked at him, there were questions she wasn't asking and she was trying to figure him out.

***************************************************

Delilah looked at him with suspicious, when he explained it, and then she smirked, "Of course she is." she said as she snagged something from his plated, "I had to kick some girl off Hayden's path, just to get her to talk to me. Not that I was trying to, I just can't stand bullying. Hayden was just a bonus." she explained. She had not even thought of being friends with anyone, not with her reputation, most people stayed out of her hair and when it came down to it, she was really hard to deal with, for some. But Hayden was different, she was cool and she accepted Delilah and her ways. That meant that Delilah was not going to let anything like what happened the first week Hayden got to the middle school ever happen again, or what happened to her with her father, but he wasn't going to tell him that. "She has a lot going on, being the one heading her home, since her mother works a lot, so she is obviously not going to have so much time for a friendship with someone like you." Delilah pointed out. As she glanced away from him, thinking of his comment about going to college, "You know, Ban is going to be leaving too." she said more to herself, then frowned, this plan was going to have to be updated in the next two years, "I wonder......" she paused and thought for a moment.
Heaven thought for a moment, before she smirked, "Yeah, witches are your allies, when you get assigned one, be very nice. And you will meet other beings in this pack if you haven't yet. We are pretty friendly with a few, so be nice to anyone you meet, at least until you can tell the difference." she advised, not sure how much she was allowed to explain to Claire on her first day. "But you should really be worried about Cass. She is a little one-minded, hard to control, so you should know not to look her in the eyes. If you do, do not break eye contact unless she does first." she had seen what happened to those that did, those that were in the same pack as Cass knew not to do it from the situation that ended another wolf's life that way. There was a lot that was figured out with Cass by the sacrifice of another wolf, not always from another pack. Which was why Cass never was the one at the meetings and another reason she could not be Alpha.
*********************************
"Garret said to play nice." York stated as they walked through the pack, Cora waved the wolves that came with the Alpha, to surround the pack.

"It's not a threat if you are being respectful and polite. My father didn't understand that and if you don't, then you are going to end up just like him." Cora stated as she smirked, "Besides, York, It would have been nice for you to really lose that temper of yours." she chuckled.

York sighed as he rolled his eyes, "Just because she amuses your blood lust, doesn't mean I will." he said as he looked around, noticing that there were wolves poking their heads out to them. They had got attention when the wolves had arrived, it wouldn't be surprising that they had some guess as to what Garrett had sent them for, but the last thing he wanted was to be the face of fear in anyone. "Hurry up." he said as he broke into a run, Cora followed behind him as he did.

As they ran they slowed a little, as they smelled her, Olivia was just behind them, and then she had stopped....

Oli stopped in the back of the Alpha house and sighed as he knocked, she stepped back, knowing that when she got there she would be too late to stop the enforcers. She was hopeful that the Alpha would see her. When she heard of the Alliance and how close it was to home, she turned back on Cass and tried to reach the pack before York or Cora, but they had been ahead of her. She was a Moonlight wolf from born, but that didn't mean that she was just going to follow her Alpha blindly, no matter who it was, even before she was to be Luna.

Hayden nodded, Elliot would love something like that. He didn’t have any military models the last time she had seen his collection. At Ban’s question, she nodded. She didn’t see a point in lying to him. She resisted the urge to lean in more, afraid that he was just dangling that he had the information but wasn’t going to tell her anything and leaning in would just further put her under the power he held. She didn’t like that, she hated that feeling. So instead she took another bite of her food.
“I do wonder.” She said slowly. “Would you tell me if I asked?” Even that was hard for her to ask.

=+=+=

Nathan raised an eyebrow, he hadn’t known Hayden back then when she first moved to town. But that she was bullied...he felt a very brief flush of anger and then he clamped it down. Delilah had taken care of that years ago, but it still annoyed him that it happened. At her comment directed at him and how Hayden wouldn’t have time for someone like him, he only smirked. “You know I’d be more than willing to help her with some of that stuff.” He found himself saying, speaking the words before he let himself have a chance to decide if he really should. Maybe he would anyway? Offer to help more with some of the back and forth stuff with Logan and Emily from their clubs and school and anything else. But her next comment caught him, he’d been wondering about that.
“You and Shaffer...that’s...well your pairing is very odd.” He said with a grin as he looked to her, handing her another piece of food.

Claire nodded as she listened, taking note of it all. “I can be nice. I don’t see a need to be anything else, especially as the newcomer here.” She said softly. And then she thought of Cass. “I don’t know how much you can tell me...I must have misunderstood when Michael said no one knew about Cass but his family...but how often is she around? My interaction with her earlier is not one I’d like to have again if possible.” She said with a sheepish smile. Maybe she’d ask if she could learn how to fight...not that it would matter against someone like Cass.

=+=+=
Richard tensed when he heard the knock, growled softly when he smelled another Moonlight wolf. He moved past his mate and to the door. Couldn’t they just leave him and his family be for the night?! He flung the door open, staring coldly at whoever stood there waiting.
“What is it now? I already said I understood my place with Garrett.” He snarled. As he stopped speaking he finally took in the female. She was a different one than before but she was still Moonlight pack.

Ban sighed as he nodded, "Yes." he said, motioning her closer, "I don't need to hide your secret from you and there is a question I want to ask." he said as he thought of how to explain it. He paused for a moment before he whispered, "Your father abused you and your mother and you ran away. But what makes you think that he won't find you?" he asked, looking at her clearly curious, "After all, it's not like you have gone completely unnoticed, you are friends with the most popular figure in town."
***************************************************
Delilah took his offering and nodded, "Well, I guess it would, because it is his second day, but we are together and that is all anyone needs to know." she said with a smirk, "What can I say, that talk yesterday made it clear that we are the only pair like us in this school and it's attractive." she teased, as she leaned towards Nathan, "Besides, I would love to knock some girls around, seeing the way that they look at him. Being his girlfriend, just open some doors that I am only too happy to walk through." she chuckled.
Heaven smirked, "Oh, we all know Cassandra, but anyone outside of the pack doesn't. They have all been killed, including the doctor that helped deliver her and Christopher." she sighed, as she thought of how to explain, "There is a group, we call the enforcers, they are usually the strongest of our pack and they kill who and whatever the Alpha says. Cass is one of them. And she gets sent out a lot, checking on the packs that interest the Alpha, so you probably won't see her around a lot." she explained and then smiled, "But that doesn't mean you shouldn't be careful, she does pop up." she stated, "And if you tell anyone in your old pack about her, she will end up visiting them, so you should be careful never to speak of her unless spoken to of her. Just to be safe, until you get a feel for who you can talk to her about."
*******************************
Oli nodded, bowing slightly, "I am sorry about what you have been through. My Alpha is a little too extreme, but our pack is not like this, not all of us." she said as she reached in her pocket and handed Richard a ring. "The Alpha from before, before Garrett. He used to give gifts to his alliances, a way to show gratitude for the bond he hoped to build. This isn't much, but I want to withhold that tradition. Fear and intimidation is Garrett's way, I don't want it to be the last of the Moonlight is known for." she explained. Before she waited for him to take it and when he did, she stepped back and bowed, "Thank you very much for the alliance, and I hope that you remember, we are Moonlight, but we are not all cruel." she stated, "I will leave you alone, now."

Hayden wasn’t sure how she felt about his willingness, but now she did lean in. They had chosen a spot to sit that was back a little from the other chattering students so they wouldn’t be bothered and their voices were low enough amongst the chaos of high school lunch that there was no way someone would hear them. She sighed. “We’ve been here...three years...four years?” She frowned and then shook her head a little, that wasn’t so important. “My mother seems to think that if he was going to follow us, he would have found us already. He’s good at that kind of thing I guess.” She said darkly, her tone suggesting she did not at all agree with her mother. “As for my friendship with Delilah...I don’t exist when people interact with us or her. They see only her, it’s like I’m not even there. I remain her shadow, she protects me and I will always have her back too. But if my father finds us, it’s not going to be because of my friendship with Del.” She said quietly. In part too because anything that would get Delilah’s name noticed beyond the town, Hayden hadn’t been a part of but that had only happened once that Hayden could remember since she’d been there. It even got into the town newspaper. Oh, her parents had been furious about that one. Hayden was pretty sure she didn’t get to see Delilah for almost a month after that stunt. “Did you have other questions? I would like to know how much you know.” She said.

=+=+=

Nathan laughed at that. At her comment about some of the girls she’d be able to push around. It didn’t surprise him, but it was amusing to him. He wasn’t sure he fully believed her reason for why she and Ban were suddenly together, but he also didn’t see a point in pushing it, she wouldn’t tell him anyway. “Well, I’ll be sure to keep an eye out for the entertainment. Though knowing you it won’t take long to knock some of those girls down a few pegs.” He said in amusement. Ban’s words came back to him. Delilah was very different from those other girls, but what would they go through against each other to get Ban’s attention?

Claire nodded, understanding beter now. That seemed like a pretty safe bet, to not speak of Cass unless spoken to about her. And she would be sure to stay on alert. She shook her head a little. “I won’t say anything to them. My little sister is still back in my pack and my dearest friend, I mean she may as well be my sister...I’ll do everything in my power to make sure my actions don’t put them in harm’s way.” She said. Cass hadn’t liked her, would she pay a visit to the Autumn pack anyway? She tried to dispel that fear.

=+=+=

Richard looked to Oli in surprise and with suspicion. Was this some trick or was the female being sincere. He didn’t know and he didn’t like that. Regardless, he couldn’t afford to insult the pack and so he took the ring, bowing his head to her. “I appreciate the gesture.” He said, working to soften his tone and make sure the appreciation was in it. He returned her bow as she left and once she was gone he shut the door and returned to his mate. The events of the night had him rattled and he slept very little. He’d wonder what kind of bargain he’d gotten himself stuck into, but without the alliance there was nothing stopping moonlight from coming in and taking what they wanted by force. This was just the lesser of two evils.

Ban smirked, "About how bad it was for you? Because anything else, I know, is not really something I will tell you unless it is about you." he stated as he leaned back, "After all, if I traced you all the way back after four years, to where you used to live, then how long do you think it would take him?" he stated. He had a lot more help because he knew how to trace people, but when it came to the facts and the well of a man like hers. Ban wouldn't be surprised if the man that once terrorized Hayden and her family would find them. "Not to mention, your little secret is not something you have hidden well."
**************************

Delilah smirked, "Right now, he is with Hayden, I am sure that will be a trigger al on its own." she said, as she smiled more. It was part of the plan and she knew that it was something she should have told Hayden, but she wanted to make sure that girl didn't give it away. Hayden wouldn't be in any danger, because Ban wouldn't let that happen, Delilah made sure that he wouldn't. But it was just a way to make sure that everyone else understood that what she had was not for them to try and take away. There was no reason that she was going to be able to hold back the fact that there would be someone trying to get Ban's attention soon. It was just important to make sure it was very soon and she dealt with it.

Heaven stayed with Claire until Michael got home, and had Jacob get Kalvin as she said goodbye to Claire, "See you for breakfast." she said since it was clear that Michael was still taking her to see Cass and meet Oli in the morning.

***************************
In the morning, Micahel knocked on Claire's door, he took the couch until she gets more comfortable. There was no reason for him to sleep with her if Cass already saw her. "Claire. My mother sent some close last night, I left them for you in the bathroom." he said through the door, "I will wait for you in the living room." he said. He didn't want her to feel like she was trapped, even if she was.. He had to make this work, since he hadn't found his mate, it was important that she accepted him wholeheartedly, as his mother told him, so he didn't push.

Hayden stiffened, but somehow managed to keep her expression neutral. She didn't like Ban, and she hated that he knew more about her. "I know a lot more about who that man had been...probably still is, than I think you realize." She said coldly, it was making her uneasy sticking around Ban, being alone with him. She was about to ask what he meant about her secret not being well kept when two girls came over. Upper classmen that Hayden didn't recognize, though apparently they recognized Ban. They ignored her completely as they turned their attention to him.
"Hi Ban, we're in chem class together, I don't know if you remember. You know, you seemed to really have a good grasp on the material today and we were wondering if you'd be willing to help us out?" One girl asked. Her tone too sweet, her smile forced innocence. Hayden just sat back, rolling her eyes a little even as she watched in faint amusement. She glanced to Ban, curious about his reaction. She was sure that part of why the girls were approaching now was because Delilah had gone and had seemed to stay away, even if they didn't know yet that Ban and Delilah were "dating."

=+=+=

Nathan tensed a little again. Hayden was alone with Ban? He didn't think Ban would do anything to her, it just surprised him that Delilah would leave them alone together. "A trigger?" He asked, taking another bite of his own food. "What? To see what girls approach him? Delilah I could name nearly the entire tenth and eleventh grade of girls who would be brave enough to approach him as soon as you weren't hanging around." He teased.

Claire knew she should have offered to share the bed with Michael, it wasn't fair to make him sleep on the couch, but she hadn't been able to bring herself to do it last night. She had never shared a bed with a male, even if all they were doing was sleeping and it had set her on edge enough that she had agreed to the arrangements for that night. She knew she couldn't force him to stay on the couch though - even if it was comfortable - and resolved herself to either offer to trade places with him the next night, or just suck it up and both sleep in the same bed. Even so, as he told her where the clothes were, she was grateful to his kindness.
She went to the bathroom to quickly wash up and change and then she met Michael in the living room. She offered him a shy smile. "Thank you." She said. She meant it for everything and for how he had been treating her so far. She had been worried about the kind of male she was being paired with and knew she couldn't have asked for a better match given the circumstances. "Will I be meeting your mother? I would like to thank her as well for the clothes." She said.

Ban was taken aback by the girls when he was about to say something. He looked at them with a raised eyebrow, for a moment he didn't say anything before he glanced to Hayden, "If you believe so." he said before returning to the girl that spoke to him, "I don't have the time to hold anyone's hand on intro information. Best to ask Nathan, he seems to have the time for....you." he said politely as he sighed, "I am going to continue my conversation with Hayden, now. Please don't upset her, I am pretty sure this was staged." he commented before adding, "And hello, by the way, but you should have said hi to Hayden first since she is the one I was talking to." he stated as he turned to Hayden again.

**************************************

Delilah smirked, "I know." she said, "I can name half a dozen that wouldn't, just because I knocked them on their asses already." she said as she looked at her watch. "So, up for a walk?" she asked, he had mentioned watching and she needed to witnesses the Golden Boy, to show that she hadn't started anything. The last thing she needed was to get in more trouble when she was trying to go out.

Michael smirked, nodding, "She is going to meet us for Lunch, later. Oli is excited to meet you, so Chris is bringing Cass and Oli with us to meet at the diner. Heaven works there, so we shouldn't be late." he said as he reached out his hand. He wanted her to take it, so if Cass lunged for her, he could move her out of the way. "I will show you a little of the town, before having to meet with my father. I can take you where you want to go if you want." he assured her.

Hayden was amused. She may have been uneasy around Ban, but it was interesting to watch. She raised her brows at his remark to her as if the two girls hadn't even spoken to him and then as he addressed them next. The girl snorted as he mentioned Nathan. "We did ask him, he said he was busy." She said, rolling her eyes a little. It was true, though they hadn't tried hard either, her real target had been Ban. Her surprise at how he reacted was evident though and her gaze flicked to Hayden, as if just realizing she was there. Hayden's eyes widened just slightly and she cast what may have been a glare in Ban's direction. She was okay remaining unnoticed. Then she looked back to the girls, mainly the leader who had put a pleasant expression on her face.
"Hayden. What a pretty name. I'm so sorry for being rude like that. My name is Winter, and this is Cali." She gestured to the girl beside her who gave Hayden a smile. She looked back to Ban. "you must be a pretty good friend, she's lucky to have an upper classman who cares so much for her." She added. Hayden almost burst out laughing at that.

"He's practically like a brother." She said dryly, giving Winter a smile that was too sweet to be genuine, though only Delilah would have known that...or ban she supposed. The statement was one she was sure only Ban would understand. Delilah was like a sister to her and if she and Ban were "dating" then he would be like a brother-in-law figure...even if they weren't married. It was perhaps a small jab at him and came out before she could stop it. She felt...cornered...even if the girls' attentions had turned back to Ban.

=+=+=

Nathan grinned and nodded as he packed up what remained of his food. "I would love to take a walk." He said. He quickly packed everything up and then slung his bag over his shoulder as he got to his feet to follow Delilah.

Claire only hesitated a brief second before taking Michael's hand. There was something reassuring about it and the sense of security it offered as he led her out of the house and in the direction of the diner. "I do look forward to meeting Oli...and your mother. Your father...I suppose I can safely say I am intimidated by him." She said a little sheepishly. "I would like that though, to see more of the town." She added.

Ban sighed, "Well, this was a good chat, but as I said, you don't want to upset her." he stated, but he didn't make it clear that he wasn't talking about Hayden. Instead, he looked the girls up and down for a moment, before he politely smiled, "And Hayden and I are in the middle of a conversation. There were at least 16 other students in Chem, I am sure you will find someone to teach you, what 1 plus 2 equals." he said before he sighed, as he looked towards Hayden, but it was already too late.
**************************
Delilah smirked as she led the way back towards the table she left Ban and Hayden on and the moment they could see it, she saw the girls. "What did I tell you?" she smiled at Nathan. She sighed, "I say, a few more seconds, just to see what happens." she smiled, turning to Nathan to see what he thought.

Michael smirked, "Don't worry about my father. He will keep from hurting you, and he plays the easy-going Alpha with most, so you will be fine. And if my mother likes you, I wouldn't be concerned with my father. After all, mates have this connection and it is a lot stronger the tougher the male seems." he teased. He sighed a little, wondering what would happen when he broke the bond he was supposed to have with his mate when he married Claire. He regretted the fact, Claire was nice, but he wanted to mate that was his, over a wolf that was given to him. And his father didn't care for the fact that Michael wanted more time. The only thing he could do was to hope to find his mate before the bond with his mate was taken from him and Claire and he would never really feel that bond. But he was going to be responsible and hide it best he could. If there was one thing that he was good at, was hiding how he felt about something. He had learned from time with his father, he smirked at her, "Here we are." he said as they got out of the tree line, to the parking lot of the diner. He sighed as he led the way, "Stay close, okay? At least until we seat down."

Winter gave a chilly smile and then looked to Hayden. "Sorry again to interrupt, I'll see you around." She said to Hayden. Hayden just stared back, but said nothing. She followed Ban's gaze and noticed Delilah, smirking a little, then she looked back to Winter and Cali and then to Ban. "You know you could just tell her you're taken." She muttered under her breath to him. Winter didn't hear, but she noticed where both of them looked.

"Uh, Winter..." Cali muttered. Finally Winter looked too and saw Delilah. Instead of backing off right away like most girls would have, she tossed the freshman a smile. Then she looked to Ban. She had few snide comments she wanted to make, but she was trying to win Ban over, and she didn't imagine those would work. She didn't leave though, instead waited to see if he'd flat out tell her to get lost or if Delilah would approach them.

=+=+=

Nathan sighed as he watched the scene unfold, then He looked over to Delilah and then back to what was happening. A few more people had started to watch, mostly the ones closest who were curious about how things were going to turn out. "Wouldn't now be the time to step in if you're wanting to give those girls a piece of your mind?" He asked with a raised eyebrow as he looked to Delilah once more.

Claire appreciated his teasing and it helped to ease her a little more. She knew that the mate bonds could be quite powerful, but she had never felt like she had been born with that bond within her. She knew a few wolves were born without a predestined mate and few were born with a bond to a race other than wolf and they felt that bond differently. She hadn't heard as much about those ones, but it was part of why she had been okay being chosen for this duty. But Michael was likely giving up his true mate bond and she couldn't help but to have wondered how hard that was for him.
As they entered the diner she nodded. "I plan to." She assured him. Cass made her uneasy and really, Michael was her closest ally right now. Heaven and Jacob she was sure could be too, especially Heaven, but the female would be working, which meant she had just Michael to rely on. She was more than a little grateful to have him at her side.
