I think a step by step would be nice. I'm pretty lost...

Okay, no problem, let me see what I can do.

All of your Attributes start at 1, which a is bit below the human average.
You have 60xp to raise them; it costs 3XP to raise an Attribute to 2, 6xp to raise an Attribute from 2 to 3, and 9xp to raise an Attribute from 3 to 4.
So if you want, for example, Fitness 4, you would just spend 18xp - leaving you with 42xp.

A simpler method is to pick the Attribute you want to be strongest and make it 4, choose two Attributes you want to be at 3, and set the rest to 2.

Skills start at 0, and you have another 60xp for those
Learning a new Skill costs 2xp and increases it to 1.
improving a Skill to 2 is only 1xp, so it's usually worth it.
Improving a Skill to 3 is 2xp again. So for 5xp, you can get professional competence in a Skill.

Things get a little complex from there - you pick a Skill Focus for any Skill you want to improve to 4 or higher. It's a specialization, something you're well-trained at.
For example, a character might have Artisan 3 - they can do a little sculpture, a little painting, a little etching reasonably well. For 3xp, you can add a Focus - like Embroidery 4. They can do the other things well, but they are excellent at embroidery.
You can increase a Focus to 5 for 6xp, and raise it to 6 - the absolute mastery of a Skill - for 9xp.
You don''t have to max out a Focus before getting more, though. Someone could have, say, Embroidery 5 and then buy Painting 4 for another 3xp.
You can pick any Focus that makes sense, use your imagination.

If it's easier, I can recommend seven Skills that a Peerless Guardian would use and you can just raise those to 3, then add Focuses to them at 4.

We'll worry about Advantages after that.

Does that help?

Don't be discourged, I'm happy to keep helping until you get it.

If you need any terms explained, just ask.

Do you have an idea of what kind of person your character is? Feel free to look at other characters for guidance..

And if anyone here has suggestions to make the information more digestible and easy to read, please tell me.

I have quite busy couple of days ahead of me, so please forgive me if it takes me a while to get my character sheet done

Quite alright. Remember, too, that if you like I can handle the mechanical part of the sheet for you based on your character backstory.

Just a quick question, I know you told me to ignore the advantegas part, and that's find, but what about the combat section? I'm almost done with the other two. I'll post it when I'm done with that and then I'll edit it if necessary. I ended up just putting in your backstory, just because I'm not familiar with this world and even with the lore provided I didn't want to step on your toes, so I hope that's alright.

Perfectly fine if you want to use the provided backstory, but you're welcome to make changes as long as you keep the initiation as a priest. If you step on my toes, I'll just make suggestions for changes or take your ideas and run with them. Check out Epiphany's backstory for an example of throwing in your own cool ideas, and if there's something you'd really like to add and aren't sure about yoi can always ask first.

Offence
Melee = Dexterity + Melee Skill
Ranged = Dexterity + Ranged Skill
Unarmed = Dexterity + Unarmed Skill

Defence
Defence = Dexterity + Defense
Parry = Defence + Parry Focus
Evade = Defence + Evade Focus

Speed: Fitness + Athletics
Initiative: Speed + Composure
Combat Pool: Speed + Dexterity
Physical Soak: Fitness OR Strength; whichever is lower.
Magic Resistance = Willpower

Oh, add +2 to Soak for your stone skin.
Metal is taboo in the City, so I suggest a wooden shield and war club.
Although if you like the image of a morning star, I'm completely onboard with giving you a magical wooden version with living thorns for spikes.

For the combat part, when you say "parry focus", do you mean like a chosen focus from the skills part, like where I put "wooden shields" as the focus?
Damn, I was going to change the name, cause I copied her page earlier when I wasn't sure how to write it. I'd be cool with that, but obviously it's up to the other player.

Yeah, I mean it'd be a Skill Focus instead of the raw Skill.

Ah, I see, thank you. Now for the 'advantages' part, how does that work? That's the only thing I have left. Thanks for helping me through this!

No problem, it's why I'm here.

Your Advantages are broken up into three types.
For Familiarity, pick three Social Skills and either a social group or kind of interaction. When you use those Skills in that situation, you get a bonus die. For example, maybe your Familiarity is Interrogation - +1 Empathy, Persuasion, and Subterfuge when interrogating criminals.

For Knowledge, pick three Mental Skills and a field of expertise. For example, Architecture - +1 Academics, Craft, and Lore when planning construction or investigating contruction (when would I use that, Grey? Secret rooms).

For Training, pick two Physical Skills and one weapon-based Focus. I was actually going to give you a cool martial art for this, but since you opted to use a club, your training might be Guardian Arts - +1 Defense, Athletics, and Melee (Club) in combat.

Yeah, sorry I'm a bit boring. This is one of my first times in a dice based RP, and I haven't been a part of a campaign like this in a while, so it might take me a while to opt for more interesting options, I'm treading new water here, so I hope my straight-by-the-books way of looking at things for at least the near future isn't too bad for you guys.

It's perfectly fine. This was written to be an introductory game and you won't be the only person learning. You've done great so far, especially for someone brand new.
Down the line I'll run weirder games, and if you want to join me, you'll hopefully get the experience and confidence here to really cut loose. :)

Alright, I believe I'm finished, please let me know about any changes you think I should/need to change, and once again thanks for the help!

Looks good to me. Thank you for your patience; I know it's been a lot to take in.
I'm always looking to refine things and every opinion is useful, so don't hesitate to let me know if you think something could have been better or easier.

Now, we just need to work out some prior relationships and get the last characters in, and we're good to go.

Sounds good! And to be honest, so far I'm pretty glad you're the person to interduce me back to campaigns like this, I tried to jump into a few a few months back, and the refusal of the GMs to accept criticism/their unwillingness to explain their world are one thing that turned me off of them, before we even got to start the campaign. Your willingness to explain your world to people who don't understand, and basically not just sayin "if you can't understand then fuck off!" is super helpful and made me genuinely want to learn about this world. So kudos to you sir! And keep up the good work!

Thank you, sincerely. That's stuff I really try to focus on. Can't just say people are welcome if you don't make them welcome.

Unrelated, you may all notice your sheets get edited slightly today, but that's just me cleaning up the BBCode for clarity.
