The water slapped against the base of the Pirate Ship splashing up into the salty air at the docks that day. It was early.. the sunrise stained the sky in vibrant pinks and oranges. Many of the men and women here had traveled by land..choosing to leave their own ships in more discreet areas where they couldn't be found and stolen. More nonchalant and arrogant of the pirate horde pulled up their boats next to the ever colossal and lead treasure ship. Carved into the side of it were was its name. The Havoc.
"Hm.." a tall man about 6'4 grumbled to himself. He found the name of the boat to be over dramatic in nature. Almost frozen steel blue eyes pierced through hooded eyelashes, and his wide soft lips stayed in a stiff smirk. His name was Atlas Belguard. One of at least one hundred other infamous pirates that were stepping aboard this ship today.
It was obvious this adventure was one where no one could be trusted. Why were they all here? A year ago a fleet of royal ships bearing "treaty" treasure to another land had been lost at sea. Word got around rather quickly in the black markets. In the ears of pirates, bandits, thieves, and gypsies. The fleet contained many lifetimes of treasure.. and one single piece of their ships had been found in some exotic islands a thousand or so miles south of where they docked now. The most skilled of treasure hunters were needed for this mission. And in return.. apparently they would all get an even share.
Atlas laughed to him self in amusement. Well that was just bullshit... but he was going to be damned if he didn't miss out on this treasure. If there were ways to cutthroat and cheat for more gold..he was going to do it. And with a smile. He was a handsome man. Too regal in nature to be naturally seen as a pirate. His soft long brown hair sweeped soflty along the sides of his high cheek bones. His ivory skin was kissed gently by the morning light. Broad shouldered and slender, his stature was strong and demanded respect. It was an interesting day.. and he knew the days would only get more interesting. His hand relaxed softly on the handle of his gun. However he came off as completely self assured.
He ran his free hand through his hair and stepped on deck... looking sadistically forward to seeing some familiar faces.
The waves rocked the boat gently, as Evelyn looked off the side to see the commotion. People were ohing and aweing as the pirates came in. The smart people were running away. Her face stayed hard, and emotionless. As if she was a painting. The wind gently blew across her porcelain features. The sun shined, making a gleam in her sky blues eyes. She stopped the ship right in front. She knew that showed confidence, and strength. She turned around to her crew, and coughed to get everyone's attention. "This is it!" she paced the shiny deck. "This is were we get the treasure, that captains before of dreamed of! They say we have to share, but im not planning on it. We'll trick this pigs into handed over the treasure, then we'll make them beg at are feet." Her voice was high, and girly, but it had a solid frighting tone to it. "Carry on, ill retrieve you after I gather the news of whats happening."
Like she was going to share, she never shared. This was her plan to become the Queen! The chance to rule over everything. Her red lips curled upwards creating a smirk as she walked off the boat. She could already see heads turn. She was something to look at. Her bright blue innocent eyes, her red lips. Her pale skin, she was curvy as well, she looked like a doll. Something completely fragile, which she made it seem like she was, but she was one of the infamous pirates. One of the pirates that mother warn the children of. The soulless pirate, that people coward and bow to.
She walked forward, she walked straight to the main meeting house. This is were the most famous pirates gathered. It rarely happened, but every once in a while the pirates were to discuss things. This was one of those time, she examined the room. It was fill with at least 10 captains, important captains. She took a seat, the one that the previous captain of The Rika sat. She was the new proud owner of The Rika. Other captains, took her for granted the first couple of years that she started. They thought she couldnt do as much because she was a woman. She proved them wrong, completely. She proved that she was a force to be reckon with. Which also paved the routes of other female captains. Sadly none of them were as high as Evelyn. Not yet at least.
She looked forward, to the main Pirate. The one who was the pirate in the book. The one who put other pirates to shame. He was inspiration to every pirate, and if you didnt respect him. He would kill you instantly, but he was becoming old, and frail. This was his last adventure, he knew he couldnt do it alone. He knew no pirate can do it alone, so he gathered the best and the brightest. To pair up, and send on the mission. Evelyn hated to work with other people. She would be fine as long as she was paired up with The Havoc. They fought constantly over power.
As the bodies crowded in the meeting hall it took him no time for his eyes to land on the lovely profile of Evelyn. A subtle and yet sinister glow sparkled dangerously in his eyes and he slithered through the crowds towards her. They were constant thorns in each other paws. Always one-upping each other or beating each other to their tasks at hand. He knew this time would be no different.
He remembered her entering "the life" when she was only seventeen. Just a handful of years back. His lust for her hand been automatic. Such an innocent face with an evil brain..and Atlas was positive that the young woman had no heart. Eventually he had to try to void from his physical needs that she was indeed an ideal looking woman, and see her more of a nemesis.
"Evelyn..."he purred softly, his long arm draped around her shoulders. Atlas looked ahead, at the King of Pirates mumbling in the background,"Who knew you would be selected for such a task...Its a little above your skill grade..dont you think?" he curled his arms over his chest now. Closing his eyes with regal snobbery. And a smile to match.
"I suppose you're here for us all the have some eye candy..."
She had never actually had feelings for anyone. Not even a little blush around anyone, she never had time to find interest in someone. She needed to gain power at thats all she believe life is. A fight for power, to be at the top of the food change, but if she had to choose a person it would be Atlas. He was very attractive, both his looks and his personality. She had felt lust for him, but always blocked that up with hatred. There were many men after her heart, but they didnt understand was that life was a machine. People are born, people dye. Wars rage on, all of it is for power. Only the stupid people live for romance, and lust. Her mother did, and since her father didnt feel like he had all the power, he killed both of them.
Just then she heard him, she attempted to ignore him, but sadly the pig came over to her, and decided to talk. Oh how he got on her nerves! The snobby attitude, always trying to beat her. Even though she had so much hatred for him, her heart twisted when she thought of him. He then wrapped an arm around her, and said something snobby. It was no surprise, so she kept her face emotionless, not letting him see the anger boiling inside. She chuckled, it was cold absolutely no feelings in it. "I see your still in doubt." She quickly pushed his arm off of her. "Your in doubt of my power. Thats a mistake, on your part. You'll get whats coming to you eventually."
She looked up at him. She was short maybe 5.6, this also made her seem like no threat. Just all her appearance gave her that innocent, damsel in distress look. "Eye Candy? I know people find me attractive, but that makes them even stupider, like you." She shot daggers at him with her eyes. "Im here only because of my power, if you don't believe me, that lowers your skills. A good pirate should be able to notice everything around him...or her. That's better for me! The less you notice, the less competition I have, the easier it is to retrieve the treasure. But I didnt look at you as competition in the first place. So please, go sit down. You have bothered me enough." Her voice was still cold, but anger was running through her veins.
Atlas's eyebrows raised in faux hurt,"My, my Evelyn... so quick to put a dear friend down." he spoke ever so calmly. However her shallow insults did find their way under his skin. His naturally spoiled nature caused him to be quick to offense. But his diplomatic personality would never let it show. As it seemed to be similar with the lovely Evelyn.
"You keep speaking of your "power". Well apparently the pirate king thinks there are 200 other pirates just as powerful as you... so don't believe for a second that you are more special than anyone here. I make sure to keep in mind that I am better than you."Atlas stooped to softly grab her chin, his face moving very close to hers. " I hope you remember that to be true too." his steel eyes gazed into her eyes.
Evelyn laughed dryly again "I do not consider you a friend." He didnt take any offense to that, or it didnt seem like it. That made Evelyn heart skip a beat, and made her blood boil. He shows no weakness, he was truly competition, but Evelyn would have never say that out loud. She had no idea how to feel about Atlas.
"When have I ever said that I was better then anyone here. I said that you, were not my competition, and its true. Ha your better then me! If you were better then me, you would have killed me by now. Or you would have stolen my treasure. Your all bark, and no bite." He then grabbed her chin, this made her angry, and she showed it on her face. "Get your filthy hands of of me! Your a complete and udder pig!" she had yelled that, the room went silent, and people began to stare at them. She was so embarrassed, "Go sit down your making a fool of us." her cheeks were bright red, from the eyes staring at her, but she put on her emotionless face. She hated when people touched her, even if it was an accident. It reminded her to much of her nasty father.
Pig. She used the word so freely that it was easily shrugged off by young Atlas. He paused,"Hmh."he muttered with that ever entertained smirk that rarely left his lips. He unclenched his fingers from off of her chin. Her angry condescending remarks were brushed off.
As the room went silent it could be observed that most of the other pirates were entertained...or just plain annoyed that the meeting was being interrupted. The Pirate King; Ullyses turned his almost blind attention to them. From the dulled over grey eye not covered by an eye patch he squinted at the two, "Yar Evelyn and Atlas...Do ye have a problem with wot i'm saying to ya all?"his deep voice bellowed angerilly. Although old, he stood large in size and stature. Completed with an eyepatch, a peg leg, and a raven sitting on his shoulder. The raven cawed in emphasis of his masters anger.
Atlas's put his hand over his heart and closed his eyes. The other arm wrapped around Evelyn's head and she pulled him into his chest into a tight one armed embrace. "Ullyses... you have our full attention, sir. We just get a little passionate when we first see each other after a long time. You know how it can be..being old lovers and seeing eachother once again." he purred mischievously. The room was filled with snickers and guffaws.
Keeping her close, he pulled out a chair and sat down on it pulling Evelyn onto his lap. "You have our full attention now."
Evelyn, became silent as the pirate king spoke. "Yes im sor-" she was cut of as Atlas pulled her into a tight embrace she struggled, trying to pull away. Her heart was about to explode. Her cruses muffled since he was holding her tight. Then he pulled her on his lap when he sat down. "No Ulysses, sir its nothing like this. I hate him, completely. She struggled, but finally got free from his grip. She stood up fixing her hair, "I never had any relationship with him." he face was again cold. She felt the eyes on her, she walked to another chair.
She sat down, far away from Atlas. She looked towards the pirate king. "Im sorry about all that, you have my full attention."
As the meeting went on, the pirate king discussed his what was happening on the sea, and that this was his last adventure he was having. He then started to discuss the main adventure. He began pairing teams she waited, and hoped that she would get someone she could get along with. Most of this men didnt like her because she was a female, it wasnt 'normal' all that the girls were meant to do was to make children. There were a couple of pirate, including the pirate king who thought is was fine. She waited nervously.
