: as his skin can not create any melanin, it is completely white, to the extend where it has a near sickly pale blue hue. His skin is slightly thicker than that of a normal human, making it a more consistent colour without being able to see too many smaller veins beneath it.

: a bright turquoise, and from up close you can see circuitry lines in them. The circuitry (the base colour stays the same) glows white when it is activated and showing data to him, blue when it is enhancing vision, and red when he is focussing on hostile life-forms or enemies.

042/13, or Saami as he is now called, is notorious for being a bit too honest and optimistic in people. With his military background, you would expect different, but he is friendly and will try to help anyone he can, sometimes a bit too much. Often he views himself as a "failure" and values his own life less than that of another, doubting his position in the group and thinking they are annoyed by him or consider him weak.

At earth he is in a dilemma, as most treat him like a robot, and expect him to behave like one. It is true that his brethren are mindless and the stigma around Artificial humans aren't exactly good, as their minds are off and programmed exactly like a robot. Having to survive around this stereotype Saami has become very rational, and often while at earth or in the vicinity of humans will shut down his emotions completely and goes into "robot"-mode so he doesn't attract attention from the common folk.
On board the SSE-Lullaby, he is recruited as the main pilot and as a scout. Even if he wouldn't do much good at the frontline, he is very, very proficient with sniper guns, urban exploration and can bend himself in ways that would break a normal human. Swift, agile, and precise... with perfect eyesight and hearing, yet his biggest downfall would be his physical weakness. Don't expect him to lift rocks or heavy objects, as it would quite literally break his back.

His flying and driving skills are superb, certainly helped by his improved vision, hearing and reaction speed. Despite being literally infused with them, he isn't an expert with computers, and unlike what is commonly thought, he can't mentally hack into any technology. What he can do is relay what he sees and hears to the main ship, like a walking camcorder of some sorts.

If it ever would come to close combat, he is proficient in styles of martial arts that redirect force, like Judo, Crane style kung-fu and Jiu-jitsu. Either he would kill by silently striking a killing blow before combat, or by jumping in and out poking the target until it bleeds out or gets exhausted. One fierce hit from the opponent can take him out though, so he has to be very careful. For these fights the weapons he uses are light calibre twin plasma guns, and if that doesn't work he still has a last resort in knives and daggers.
Short descrition:

An INANES made in a laboratory, he was an accident never meant to be in the first place. His "father" lost a child in an accident and illegally attempted to recreate his son by using the wrong DNA in the super soldier program. The error was detected only once the new life had already been found and was growing inside the artificial womb, and the researches decided that if it was viable, it would perhaps be worth investigating and putting through training.

This particular model was different from the others in that it was very frail and physically weak from the start, and it was initially decided he would be denied physical training after his mental training was done and to be given another purpose at the facility as a servant or helper.

After he was 'born' though, it turned out that his speed and agility were unpreceded by any genetically engineered super soldier, and a new purpose was laid out for him, namely as a cosmonaut. It was easy, you take a mindless robotic human that is technically failed, so his death won't have any impact, yet his reaction times are good enough to warrant some use. He would make the perfect explorer, since none would even care if he died, himself included.

The problem here... this particular one wasn't mindless, though at the time none knew it yet as he was trained and raised to behave equally to his brethren.

The boy sat on a chair in front of an empty table. White clothes, white floor and ceiling, three white walls, and a reflective surface. The only colour was in his eyes, and it fascinated him, he could not look away from that strange oddity in his environment. Where he was, what he was, not even to speak of who he was. All empty concepts. His head was blissfully blank like the room... except for that speck of colour he just couldn't place.

"Your code is 042/13:46692 you answer to any combination of these numbers. You are 12 years old. If you understand, nod." The sound came from above, and instinctively he looked up. There was something else though, other sounds, in the background of the loud noise up high. And from behind the mirror. His hearing switched, focusing on what could possible be behind there, yet he was still looking up to the ceiling.

"That's odd. Do you think he is faulty?"

"His bodily functions appear fine, maybe an error in mental training?"

"Let's try again to be sure."

"Repeat. Your code is 042/13:46692 you answer to any combination of these numbers. You are 12 years old. If you understand, nod." This time he heard it from above again, yet now he knew what to listen for he also heard it from behind the mirror. Instead of looking up, he looked to the origin of the other sound. Slowly he raised a hand and pointed at himself, turning his head sideways like a puppy seeing snow for the first time.

Me?

"Is he... questioning us?"

"How does he even know we're here?"

"What in the world. Get Paul, have him take other tests."

The reaction was odd. He didn't like it, it didn't sound right. New men came, and took him to another white room. The hallway they led him through was white, nothing on the walls, the men were covered and cloaked in white. He wondered, they had the figure of him, but not the face. Were they meant to be that way? Questioning. The word had sounded strange, and now he knew what a question was, he just had to avoid it. No questions.

This time, there was something on the table though, a box in colours. Nearly immediately his eyes grew big, knowing that it was like his own eyes. Other colours, other different things, so they would have a name, and then his would have a name too. In front of the box laid four shapes, and in the box where shapes too. Quietly he sat down, as was instructed, and he looked at the mirror in anticipation. Listening.

"He questioned you? He is programmed, programs don't question."

"I swear sir, he did, he really did."

The colourful box was so much more attractive than the words. Slowly his hand raised to the shapes, one with five sides, one that fit perfectly in the hole with three sides. Still looking at the mirror he listened.

"Wait... what's he doing? That's not protocol. Why isn't he following protocol?"

"See, I told you sir. I told you."

Protocol, another scary word. What was protocol? Was that person protocol? But how could he be following protocol if he was over there? Oh no. Questions. No questions. Silently he looked down at the shape in his hand. He couldn't ask questions if he put it in the right figure. And so he did, and he looked up at the people in the mirror with anticipation.

"How? None of them ever broke protocol like that."

"I don't know sir."

Did he break something? Shape and protocol. Link. Try again. This time he took the figure without sides, that fit in the hole without angles.

"042/13 Stop. Put it down."

Motion, picking up the shapes. Picking up the shapes wasn't right, breaking protocol, not following protocol. Doing things without them telling him to? Try again. Still listening he moved further, and then dropped the shape in the right hole.

"He did get them right? Would a bug in the program cause this?"

"Even bugs follow protocol, it's the most basic. Though perhaps he can't understand instructions?"

Instructions. So breaking protocol was him moving without instructions. It still felt bad, but he had to try one last time, to be sure. If he knew he could do what they wanted. No more questions, and breaking protocol and not understanding instructions. Slowly he took the last shape, one with six sides, that fit in the hole with four sides.

"042/13 Stop. Put it down."

And he did. Right in front of him, in the middle. There, he understood instructions, followed protocol. It was bad to break things. With bright turquoise eyes he looked up, staring at the men through the mirror. Waiting.

Yet slowly something clicked in his head.

Why. Why was he doing this? Why instructions and protocol?

No. No questions.

No breaking protocol.

A well-trained, well-disciplined mercenary from Earth's Megacities, he's been known to be hired for jobs deemed too dangerous or too costly for private eyes or the android cannon fodder of the Military Police. An aggressive man quick to assert himself as Alpha male and quicker to challenge anyone who opposes that. His extensive experience with the shadowy underlings of Earth Governments and wealthier clientele have taught him to be slow to trust, never take anything at face value, and always concentrate on the job at hand, everything else is a distraction. All of this adds up to a man that has an unshakable will and determination to accomplish whatever need be. Ironically, Garrett possesses many mannerisms that a yearling Father would possess. He is overprotective of companions, compassionate to those who don't piss him off or challenge his authority, and often tutors others on the simpler aspects of life.

It is unknown what the cause of his Irrational fears are, but many times they are debilitating. If an enemy flees into the dark, Garrett will halt pursuit until he can lighten his way or obtain a night-vision apparatus. Water seems to be completely unreasonable however, refusing to ever step near the sides of boats, is sick at the sight of ocean, and can be thrown into panics if he ever fell overboard into a body of water.
Hired as Security for the ship and it's crew, Garrett comes prepared for a firefight in a custom built suit of Power Armor deemed the 'Tin-Can'. The armor stands at approximately 10ft at it's tallest point and is made of poly-laminate composite to allow for superb protection while remaining relatively light in weight. Capable of withstanding over 2500 Joules of kinetic impact, the Tin-Can renders Garrett with a significant resistance to small arms fire, 10-micron-thick silver ablative coating can reflect laser and other heat-based emissions, damaging the composite surface but keeping the wearer alive, at least for the first few hits. While wearing the armor, Garrett can lift things 10 times heavier than the average human could, however it's cumbersome appearance does it justice as it is very difficult to maneuver in(movement is limited to a slow awkward jog at best and the heavy plating forces the wearer to have klunky, 'robotic' movement of their limbs.

Outside of his armor, Garrett is still a skill combatant, well trained in 'keeping your goddamn head down', something many dead enemies seem to be lacking training in. In close quarters, he doesn't have any formal melee training but is still a dangerous opponent as he will patiently wait for an opening before slamming a powerful haymaker into your face.

Outside of combat, he is a skilled mechanic, has a basic knowledge of first aid, and can track animals and people alike with the deadly efficiency required of a Mercenary.
Much of his past in unknown, what is known is that Garrett's family was born in the High-Rises of the Upper-Class and he attended prestigious schools and colleges. It isn't clear what drove him to begin his mercenary lifestyle but many affirm that it was the loss of his wife and child at the hands of a disgruntled employer.
- Known Personal History-
  3460- Garrett Marshall is born in an Earth Megacity known as; Ishtar. Both his parents are upper-class citizens, wealthy, and safe in the high rises of the City's residencies.
  3476- Marshall is admitted to a prestigious College that could not be normally afforded by most citizens, compliments of his parents. Majored in Biological Engineering, was youngest of his class.
  Marshall and a Jacklyn Rose Caldwell had a Daughter, Ellie, in December of this year. Marshall and his Daughter share a birthday.
  3478- Legal record shows he married Jacklyn Rose Caldwell in April of this year.
  3481- Is employed by a Private Technology firm, was put as assistant manager of Android Developments.
  3482- Marshall reports his employer for misuse of Government funding, illegal waste dumping, and utilization of off-world slave workers. Firm is dissolved and CEO's lose billions in lawsuits and legal fees.
  Four months later, Jacklyn and Ellie Marshall are found murdered in their home. His former employer is the prime suspect but disappears off-world.
  3483- Marshall detained for an attempted suicide, three months after his family's death. He was sent to a psychological facility where he was arrested for abuse of a controlled substance (Methamphetamine, Heavy use of Alcohol), as well as an assault on a volunteer worker.
  Released from prison in October when ruled his weakened mental state was the cause of the outburst.
  November 13th, Marshall fails to attend his mandatory therapy session, disappears off-world.
- Criminal Record-
  3483- Arrested for controlled substance abuse and assault, released 8 months later.
  3484- February- First true offence as a Mercenary, Illegal trafficking of stolen Androids. Marshall escapes custody.
  April- Participated in a pirate attack on the SSE Constellation. Later escaped custody.
  July- Marshall commits a murder as part of an assassination contract. Escaped custody.
  December- Participated in a raid on a outliner settlement, unknown if he personally killed anyone, no survivors found at the settlement.
  3485- January- Illegal distribution of Government Issued weapons and armor, murder of an Undercover official, vandalism. Marshall escapes custody.
  May- Marshall evades Military Police and flees to a new sector after a year and a half of operations.
  June- Murder of a known Slaver on an pioneered planet- Marshall expunged as part of the official Government bounty on the Slaver. Marshall escapes custody when arrested for prior crimes.
  December- Illegal Trafficking of slave laborers, murder of SIAD operative during the raid to free the Slaves from capture. Marshall evades capture.
  3486- June- Prime suspect for the murder of former Employer, James Fairview and his family. Avoided court hearing. Marshall evades capture.
  Marshall disappears from Official Record at this point.
- Mercenary Work-
  Much of his Mercenary work is unknown, though it is suspected and highly likely he has commited more illegal actions on Jobs he took that is not on Official Record. He is regarded highly in the community however as reliable, loyalty to employers, and quality of his work. Most commend him as one of the best.
  Government Jobs- Under alias' Marshall has been later discovered to have participated in many Government Mercenary jobs as well.
  3485- June- Marshall turned in the bounty for a known Slaver, his alias failed and he was detained for prior crimes. Marshall escaped custody.
  August- Hired as additional guns for a Military Operation on the planet Verdoon, Marshall followed orders to a T, in spite of the Commanding Officer's iron grip on his men, Marshall allowed smugglers to steal a majority of the ammunition for the forward base on Verdoon. When questioned Marshall responded; "I was following orders. They didn't steal any of that alcohol the Captain locked up from his crew did they?" Marshall released on technicality, his contract dissolved, paid for the time he spent.

- Rea is notorious for being a bit too loud and optimistic. With her small town background, she is used to being the center off attention.   Rea's blood line has tendencies toward depression, and for most of her life, she thought she was the end of it. When she got into high school, she started getting extremely depressed for weeks at a time, and it affected her school work, but everyone told her it was "hormones". When she started college she started seeing a therapist and it saved her life. Now, she knows how to control her symptoms, but occasionally she gets stages of mild depression. Other than those few blocks of time, Rea is generally an extremely happy person.

She has a weapons belt, on which she keeps her gun, gloves, and photon blade, as well as her helm in its condensed state. Her clothing is made so that is able to be used in deep space, with the help of her helmet, which also serves as a comm-link, targeting system, and air purifier. Her helm can circulate air for about 5 hours before needing a recharge.

Adira's Very quick-witted, not too quick to trust, and she's willing to take risks. She is kind and caring, and quite humorous when she wants to be (she can sweet-talk her way into anything and put anyon eat ease) , but when she's needed for command, she cracks down. She does not kill unless there isn't really any other option. She feels the need to help people, and knows the limits of the Military Police, so she tries to act as her own Police, using methods outside of the law. She is motherly and protective, and her morals are very strong; she favors the, "You messed up, here's what you did, here's what you do next time," style of leading (Known as high interaction) but she'll shift to low interaction, high command when needed. Very self-sacrificial.

  Appeared first time as an illegal hitch-hiker on a Scientific Research transport ship leaving the icy planet 502, she used remarkable wits in hiding in the Engine room and discreetly watching and learning from the engineers. She managed to befriend them and prove her worth as a crewman. She recorded her age as approximately thirteen. She quickly soared through the ranks of engineering. When asked how by the head engineer about how she knew so much, she said, "I study in my free time." The engineer recorded that they later found that in her quarters at night, she read on engineering and watched videos on it, only socializing occasionally, however, when she did, the Captain records, "She was marvelously well-spoken, confident, kind, and well-liked by the crew." The crew came to treat her as a younger sister. When asked if she had interest in other areas of the ship, though she was one of the top crewmen for engineering, she said, "Yes, all of it."

She'd been discreetly working in the engineering, and had, unknown until later to the engineering chief, stabilized the core processor, basically saving the ship. She was to be dropped off at the nearest outpost, but proved her worth in engineering and medicine. The head Doctor logged complaints about the nurses training her, but later logged hours spent training her, adding note that they were out of begrudging boredom. She began as working with logging the medicines, learning much about the meds, and excelling past the hired assistant, then cleaning the equipment, then basic trauma. The head nurse notes that she was well-liked by all of the crew, and showed exceptionally good leadership and judgment. Adira wrote her age down as fifteen. It was about this time that the head Nurse, going through the records, realized that Adira had somehow managed to dodge every physical examination. When Adira was asked, she shrugged it off as an accident, and dodged the next three attempts of the crew at getting her a physical examination. The fourth try, she was caught, and proceeded to fight off the crewmen who came to restrain her, in an insane, noted as "seemingly fear-driven panic". She was eventually subdued through the use of narcotics. The Chief Nurse herself conducted the examination, finding

Attire: Casually, she’ll wear a light jacket, or a sweater unless she is assigned some kind of uniform. When having found some new kind of environment, or if she is joining an expedition with risk of battle or danger, Lydia will take to exploring with a suit such as the one shown hither~

Lydia’s small build makes her a useful person to slip through crowded or nearly-claustrophobic places, even though she typically prefers to do the opposite. She has thick, somewhat wavy black hair that is cut short just above her shoulders, and eyes that have an opposite, almost ghostly hue. Her young facial appearance is one that is a blend between Asian and American features, giving her a look that is considered rather cute, though she doesn’t necessarily like that all too much, as some people don’t take her as seriously as she’d like. She also wears a pair of brown-rimmed glasses to correct her farsightedness.

Extra: Just ignore the little person in the picture for the suit. Also, concerning that, her helmet acts as a ‘regulator’, but she’d need to travel with an air tank. At her side in an unfamiliar environment, she always brings with her at least two firearms, but most likely as many as can easily be carried.

- Lydia is a somewhat kind person, not one to go too far out of her way for another, but not one to immediately become distasteful to someone if they get in her way, though she can be quick to determine people based on their actions towards others. Now, if they get in the way of her gun or her research, that is an entirely different story of short-lived yet absolute terror.
  
  More often than not, Lydia’s interaction with people is little more than anything business- or ‘mission’-related. With someone that she knows well, such as a friend, she’ll be kinder and more trusting, and she might even loosen her almost constantly semi-formal manner. That professional mask can also slip if she is confronted with something that extends beyond her range of comfort.
  
  In a research or battlefield scene, a drastic swap will take place. Lydia will be more than focused on her goal, which is either in the sights of a gun or bound for a clipboard and paper. She’ll stop almost at nothing, going to extreme and risky lengths if necessary, even if that means risking herself. On occasion, she’ll risk another if and only if there is no other way to sate her goal, but will almost always do what she can to avoid such things.
- Lydia once was associated with the Space Division, doing what she could to one day join the extensive teams of researchers. Thought she is passionate about that line of work, the laboratory ironically proved to not be a setting that she was most compatible with, and therefore volunteers for missions or visits with The Outliners wherever she can, preferring what she calls ‘field work.’ Lydia has a passion specifically in physics, biology, and an interest rooted minorly in both terrestrial and alien, intelligent and predatory behavior habits. Because of her all but obsessive interest in biochemistry and biomechanics, she is probably one of the best-suited people for a medical role, although she typically prefers watching how different samples of things react to other different things, or maybe to some of the different acids over there...
- She is surprisingly skilled with ranged weaponry, from old-old-fashioned technology to the most modern that can be offered. With a small bit of practice, she’ll more often than not strike her mark.
- With a minor interest toward arts and stop-animations, one could probably find flip-book animations and stories sketched in the otherwise unusable margins of her notebooks. She is also an amateur at digital arts.

- Not many sources (if any) can confirm this, but she claims that before she came to study with the Division and volunteer for some missions with the Outliners a few years prior to now, that she lead a majorly uneventful home life, and will detail nothing unusual or out of the ordinary. No, nothing like volunteering for the Outliners or testing weaponry for the Division. Although Lydia sticks by this story almost religiously, there are few people who don't have their doubts about this.
- If one were to look through the records dating past three to four years back, of any and every academy or school, one would find no 'Lydia Camden.' When she began to volunteer for Outlier trips and testing experimental things for the Division, she initially had to twist a bit of truth about her age. With a complexion and height such as hers, even in her twenties it would be easy to mistake her for a teenager, so it was a reluctant choice to have to take her word for it. Such was the same for her record prior to her rather sudden appearance. When she began her work, some suspected that it was simply a sudden jolt from being a boring, average-beyond-belief student all through her education as her own account tells, but searching for someone such as that in the records of the past has already proved fruitless. Therefore, although without proof to back up her life-story claim, they didn't have much option. With no known living relatives to consult, the only hint to her past was her complete and absolute dedication to her investigation of biology and her peculiarly excellent skill as a marksman. A skill that was allegedly developed someplace other than on the various missions she turned up for, as noted by the Outliners.
  
  Since then, she's been little more than obedient (occasionally straying off-course), and always accounted for among the general populous, along with her ferocious ambition.

- Gatlin has always been quite the troublemaker growing up. She always played by her own rules to go against her father, who is apart of the High Senate. She decided to hop aboard the SSE Lullaby when offered a job to get a new taste of life outside the stuffiness of Empire life.

- Gatlin was born to a member of High Senate, Ulysses Weeks. Her mother was never in the picture and Gatlin never asked about her.

When she was little, she preferred to break things and put them back together in a better way instead of playing with actual toys for kids.

She got an expensive private education, but was forced to study things that she wasn't interested in. Ever since she was a child, she wanted to do something that involved traveling and spaceships. But that wasn't expected from the daughter of a Senate member.

Her teenage years were full of rebellion, trying to find herself apart from her stuck up lifestyle.

Soon after, when she was around 24, she and her father had a falling out about how the Solar Empire treated extraterrestrials and resources so she moved out, finally.

She started a small mechanic shop, where she built and fixed spaceship parts and androids.

I have a few problems with this CS, the first most being that as this is semi-closed, I asked for awesome. What I see is nearly Mary Sue rebel mechanic, it does not wow me.

A hyper-intelligent N'thagn, he is regarded as remarkably insightful even among his fellow N'thagn. His memory is infallible and he need only see/hear/read/taste/smell/ect. anything only ONCE and he will be able to remember it off the top of his head with ease. He is a curious creature, fond of learning of other species and cultures but is cautious how aggressive his research tactics are in order to avoid conflict. N'thagn Anu is easy to make friends with (if you can get past the transparent skin) and is extremely loyal to those he regard as friends. However ironic the saying is; "he's only human" and he has his set of flaws. When meeting new people, Anu is quick to judge them. He takes first impressions to a whole new level and once he has formed an opinion of you, it is difficult to change that view. Finally, N'thagn Anu is NOT a fighter, N'thagn have evolved for intelligence and stealth and are ENTIRELY incompetent in combat. Even the highest trained N'thagn special forces rely on advanced technology and high-tech weapons in order to stand a chance against even a rookie squad of human soldiers.

Biological Advantages-

-N'thagn's skin is transparent as are most of their internal organs. Essentially it allows them to easily blend in with the environment in order to avoid conflicts.

-The N'thagn have evolved six fingered hands which grants them a surprisingly powerful grip, despite their usual frailness and weakness. Many say it's easier to beat a N'thagn to death than it is to pry something from it's hands.

-Eyes like a cat, the N'thagn have tapetum lucidum inside their eyes and can see clear as day even in the darkest of areas. Their eye sight is also attuned to notice the slightest of movements, primitive N'thagn used this to avoid predators, modern N'thagn use it to read body language. A N'thagn can read a person with 97% accuracy.

-Male N'thagn have two section ribcages that allow them to bend their torsos in a manner that would snap a human in two. It is unconfirmed as to why this has evolved, but the N'thagn use it to their advantage and can contort their bodies in small spaces in order to escape.

-N'thagn legs are what are known as; "digitigrade". Essentially it means that their weight is held on their 'toes' rather than their feet and the N'thagn can run extremely quickly, with almost no noise. They can also sprint in short bursts reaching speeds up to 80MPH.

-Hearing is attuned to hear 'more'. Nothing is actually louder to them than the average human, but they may hear the breaths of an enemy around the corner where a human may not.

Psychic Abilities- Hyper intelligence has unlocked a myriad of psychic abilities for N'thagn. Though more prevalent and powerful in females, males have also evolved these powers. There doesn't appear to be a rhythm to the abilities other than females generally have them more often and they are usually more powerful than the male equivalent.

Cosmic Presence-

Anu can sense the 'cosmic presence' of people he has emotionally attached to. Essentially allowing him to 'sense' where they are at all times and know their well being. The process is instantaneous after an undetermined amount of affection Anu as accumulated for a person.

Sui Perlucidum-

Essentially it temporarily fogs a person's mind and makes Anu that much more difficult to detect. The effect only lasts about 3 seconds but it is usually more than enough for Anu to sprint away.

Minor Psychokinesis-

Anu can manipulate objects that contain a certain percentage of Radium inside. Though this seems to severely limit the ability, however it can be extremely useful in removing radiation from an individual's body or disabling nuclear weapons.

Weaknesses-

-Frail bodies, N'thagn can be killed if punched hard enough in the head or chest.

-Use of psychic abilities temporarily increases their metabolism, essentially forcing them to consume their already limited muscle mass in order to burn enough calories to remain alive.

Unfamiliar with human culture and weapons, they are likely to underestimate them and die, or overestimate them and run away.
Born and raised on the Muskeg world of Th'rth Ra'fgn, far from the reaches of Empire space, N'thagn Anu was raised among the incubation class 413/A/54 (First number is in thousands, the class number, the letter designates a certain field of education they will specialize in, last number is the number of students.). Raised to specialize in Genetic Manipulation and Alien Biology, the moment Anu reached 'adult' maturity (roughly 24 months for males, 7 years for females) he was assigned to a Expiditionary vessel that specialized in locating and abducting intelligent species for genetic manipulation and experimentation. The morals of the N'thagn hung in the grey area as they would conduct horrible experiments that can horribly mutate intelligent species and cause immense pain, all to find a way to improve N'thagn cellular regeneration by 0.07%. However, their experiments were always done in a medicinal or purely scientific manner, never used directly for war.

N'thagn Anu spent the first 200 years of his life unaware of human's existence, the N'thagn made first contact with humankind and their empire not twenty years ago. It took them only a few hours to learn enough of the human's spoken language and in the twenty years since their discovery, N'thagn can fluently speak nearly any Earth language and many N'thagn have been assimilated into Earth Culture. As for Anu, he didn't meet any humans (though he had read up on their biology extensively and was intrigued on their similarities) until just a few years prior of 3487. The meeting was short and it was to return some pioneers who were adbucted for experimentation, the pioneers now possessing a few tentacles on their head and a morphed skeletal structure. In that short exchange, N'thagn Anu made an impression on the Empire Doctor and kept in contact with her for a few months after their meeting. Anu eventually returned to N'thagn space and lost contact with his only human friend (though he hadn't been attached enough to trigger his cosmic presence).

Two years later, his vessel was contacted by the Empire of humanity and he was requested to come along on an exploratory mission due to his knowledge in the medicinal and biological fields. Anu gladly accepted, anxious on exploring human-kind and their interactions.

- Nadanya is a girl with a manual, just like the machines she repairs. Her grandmother was an Alphirian Stormrider, a tribal alien race now mostly assimilated with the empire. Yet, her heritage shows clearly, mainly in her temperament and strong beliefs. She is a very religious person, but it is more of a worldly type of spiritual; spells, nature gods, chi, etc. her main practising religion would be Buddhism, and when she isn't jumping around in an electric rush she can be found doing yoga and meditating.
  
  Don't get fooled though, she wouldn't even understand what the words calm, level-headed and friendly debate mean. One word that's too long, too complicated or too 'smart-ass' and she will get mad at you, not stepping down until you admit she is right (whether she actually is or not). This narrow mindedness has led to her getting her ass handed to her several times through engineering school though, and as it stands she has become a little less eager to explode over the years.
- Nadanya is the Engineering Department commander, making sure every machine is well oiled and runs as expected.
- Her heritage allows her some special abilities with electricity, first of all allowing her to see it, second to usurp it, and third to create a small electric charge. The electricity she obtains keeps her awake and active, kind of like caffeine or a sugar rush, and with a steady supply of electricity she needs no sleep whatsoever. In this state it isn't unusual for her to talk the ears off of your head on whatever bad omen she saw passing by today. The charge she can make can't kill, or even seriously hurt, but it can paralyse you (like a stun gun) for a few minutes.
  
  Aside from that she knows how to handle herself in a fist fight, even if she isn't trained in any martial arts or self defence. She is mostly street smart, and her fighting skills came with that.
- Most of her hobbies have to do with tinkering, and no matter how neatly kept a place is, she always manages to somehow get herself some spare parts to work with. If she isn't being insufferable, she might actually offer to fix your gun, or armour for you.
  
  A more worrisome hobby is perhaps her belief in spells and magic, knowing how to do anything from hand reading to tarot cards and her most beloved possession is a wooden wand. Don't be surprised to find several handmade dreamcatchers, charms and prayer beads in her room.
Nadanya didn't live a very exciting life, her family being middle class on a suburban colony. This didn't mean she didn't try to make her life more exciting though, and from a young age she loved anything to do with electricity and technology. Much like her mother and grandmother, though with far less strong abilities, lightning and electricity attracted her.

Her mother already was a technician, specialised in repairing medical equipment. Nadanya went with her for repairs from as young as 10, learning a lot about technology before even going to school for it. It wasn't surprising that by the time she had to make a high school choice she went for the best engineering academy around.

What was a surprise however, was her love for space and spacecrafts, be it in her own, odd manner. She always explained her need to go out into the wide universe as a mission of self-fulfilment and to find proof of her convictions, believing the gods were among the stars. It was no wonder these odd beliefs didn't sit right with her teachers or classmates, combined with her tendency to become defensive at only so much as smelling criticism, it wasn't hard to see why no many people liked her. That didn't take away from her determination to go and see the stars though, it did however, ruin her chances.

After a particularly rough stint with another student where she had paralysed someone, the academy kicked her out before graduation. This disappointment combined with her unfulfilled desires led her to run away to some of the more backwater colonies. Repairing spaceships for pirates, mercenaries and merchants all alike.

It wasn't until she reached Arid Harbour in her early twenties that she turned around, finding a job repairing the ships of the local military, and eventually working her way up into the space division. Having calmed down, she reapplied to the academy and was allowed to finish her education, securing herself a nice, comfortable job on the engineering department. Before being assigned to the Lullaby, she was part of the groundcrew fixing it's predecessors.

About a month ago, by some odd coincidence, the originally assigned head engineer didn't make it, and had she been promoted to the head of the groundcrew at first, she suddenly found herself getting ready be part of the on board team of the Lullaby instead. Sure it wasn't anything fancy like commander, but she was ecstatic to say the least that she could finally go into space. Knowing the risks not holding her back, and she gladly accepted.

His father raised him with a sense of discipline and excellence for the sake of his own political career. While his Mother, taught him the finer points of life such as how to act at dinner parties, formal dancing, piano and violin lessons. Hayden went to the best schools, got the best clothes, always had the best money could buy. In truth though, Hayden didn't like the "High life." He preferred working with his hands and wanted to go out and see the galaxy instead of being groomed to govern it from behind a desk like his father. In all honesty, I don't like it that much. The character just isn't fleshed out enough, and you said you wouldn't make him like someone else, but what I see is the child of Tony Stark and Isaac Clarke. I don't see anything in there I haven't read before, in fact, your character is nearly exactly the same as the other engineering application I had and rejected, except it was a she.

The format aside, your style of writing just doesn't flow. You just list things off instead of writing about the character. If I can't trust you to know how to write about a character, I can't trust you to know how to write in character either. So I commend you for trying, but it just isn't there yet. Keep practising and don't let this put you down, because it took me a lot of practise too to get where I am today, and I am sure the same goes for everyone else here.

  Saundary is in the Navigation's Department simply because of her passion in the meteorology and sciences category, mapping being one of the things she has exceeded in. Calculations tend to be a struggle for her, and she knows this, but it does not stop her from persevering and working hard. In fact, she stresses out when she gets a calculation wrong, and she does well to make sure it does not show.
  
  Due to her academically praise worthy talents in meteorology, Saundary is specifically stationed with Geomagnetic Storm watch due to the disturbance it can bring to space travel, launches, and much more. Geomagnetic Storms are dangerous, hazardous for humans because of the exposure to radiation, and dangerous for the SSE-Lullaby because it often damages electromagnetic energy thus disturbing navigation systems, transmitters, and the main electricity grid. The very fact that Saundary knows what to do in case such a Storm takes place comes in handy. Although the engineers should also be very prepared, and well equipped regarding such a situation, for Saundary mostly focuses on beating the storm rather than face it.

  Saundary is a very flexible woman, she cannot stretch her skin to that of a flexible band, but she is so much so that she is light on her feet. Her jump suit designed to move as a second skin, which is great since she does not see herself wearing any armor any time soon. Even so, it does not mean she is not already well acquainted with machinery, for she is, but prefers knives over guns. Guns never felt right in her hands, only when they are a necessary tool do they feel dangerous and excite her in a strange way. Specifically, even for her age, she is quite childish yet also very dangerous.
  
  Due to her being an Alien, part human, although her kind has just about three to six abilities, she has only two.
  - Cloaking: she can not only cloak her thermal energy, but she can also camouflage herself. It isn't perfect or like invisibility, but if she stands still she will be hard to spot.
  - Night sight: although she has ruby eyes with golden embers. They glow a leafy green color, just to help her see in the dark. Relatively similar to a cats.

  - Reading; she loves to expand her creativity, anything that she learns that is particularly new to her, she quickly jots down in order to construct into, what human's call a Haiku, or Poem, later on. Her new favorite are Sonnet's, but it is fairly difficult since literature that was a requirement in the Twenty-First Century is almost dead to Society.
  - Singing; Saundary doesn't think she's a great singer, but she knows she is a great hummer, and sometime's she believes that maybe her voice is worthy of a crowd although she knows that is unlikely. To her race singing is a plead and a prayer to their Une, but to her it's a remedy to her happiness. Thus she hums instead.
  - Swaying; She can't dance but she often stands on her toes and lifts her hands relatively high above her head, and about, as if she was something peculiar. She likes to feel like a different Mystique in her own skin, that and she's clumsy.
  - Animals; she's only been to Mars twice and that was to visit her grandparents. Within that short amount of time Mystique has come to admire animals very much and has always wanted a pet, but never found the time to get one.
  - Thinking; she stares out at nothing, anything, and although she is sometimes scared of the dark, she believes the galaxy is a very beautiful place. She just thinks, there's nothing in particular that she thinks about simply because she sometimes thinks of nothing and is just admiring what she believes is admirable. Sometimes, because of this, she often thinks she is Wise due to her extraordinary way of thinking, no matter how clumsy her personality seems.

  - Food; She's picky, and loves fruit. She just doesn't like Watermelons, they're very weird to her and they taste weird too.
Summary

There is honestly not much to say about Saundary.

Saundary was born with lavender hair and silvery eyes. It was the most appearance for a Mystique born into Nobility, however she wasn't, she was an Earth Citizen. Her mother, an Alien, and her father, a Human, fell in love a little after Mystiques were coming to Earth in hopes of survival of their dying race, only three hundred in total, nothing grand. They easily blended in with Humans, their features no different from theirs, only seems more suited their skin was a little thicker, and they never gained weight -- they were always fit. When Saundary was four, her mother dropped her title of Nobility for they were no longer on their planet, and they no longer needed such a thing since their living arrangements were quite sufficient, her grandparents enjoying their time in Mars with a small handful of their kind. Consistently traveling to Earth, the Moon, and twice to Mars with her Father, a Professor, Saundary learned what she never thought she would about herself. She was different, mocked and taunted because of how she contrasted against others, but not as bad as full blood Aliens, surely. And because she was so different and still held her head high above the nonsense her peers threw at her back, she became her own person. Although struggling because of her ruby eyes that have her appear as though she was some stoic, blood thirsty monster, she came to be fascinated by all things Average People would never understand - Life. Thus, when she graduated from the Academy and was placed into intermediate training for her new job for two years, Saundary became a woman with a lot to learn on her growing plate of maturity. Leaving her intermediate training at eighteen just to prepare herself for a job worthy of excitement.

- -Jack had a simple life from the moment he was born, spending ample time with his family while going to school. It was a small town kind of lifestyle and everyone knew everyone so there was very little conflict, if there was any at all. From an early age he found that the chemicals that made up life were his passion and he followed it all the way through college and into the field.
- -Born to a wealthy farming family on Mars he enjoyed the good simple life right out of the womb, growing up in a caring and nurturing environment. Jack never complained about his lifestyle and never encountered conflict while living at home and attending local schools. His upbringing was that akin to country living back on earth, albeit a little more sophisticated due to the wealth that is family kept. As time passed Jack graduated from High School and knew, after years of playing chemist while others played doctor and police officer, that he wanted to go to Earth and attend a college for chemistry.
  
  After a long farewell he set off on his chosen path and attended The University of Space Exploration and Investigation, hoping that one day he could get aboard a ship and study the chemistry of the galaxy. While in college life was much different from life on Mars, Earth had a great many more challenges than his home and Jack had a rough time of it. There were several occasions where he was mugged, and one particular bad experience that landed him in the hospital. While attending his usual class he accidentally set of a chemical reaction that splashed a volatile mixture up and down his arms, leaving burn scars to this day. His life on Earth definitely wasn't easy, but he endured it because it was the key to his future.
  
  After four years in college he finally graduated and went home to celebrate, spending several months there before deciding to set off on his journey. His parents were nothing but supporting and he loves them for that, knowing that no matter how far he traveled they would always care for him. Now Jack seeks a job aboard any vessel that will take him, but he has had a hard time finding one that wasn't already full up on crew. So, in an act of desperation an irrational though Jack signed on with the military space division in hope that it would open up more opportunities for him to get out there and do what he loved.
  
  His time in the military wasn't all that bad really, being designated a nerd was just about the worst of it. Due to his academics he didn't have to take part in all of the physical training normal soldiers endured, rather he was pulled aside and thought basics such as point the bad end away from you and pull the trigger or pull this thing and throw that away. He never truly cared for guns or weapons of any kind so things like that typically went in one ear and out the other. It wasn't long before it was over and he was about to get his first assignment aboard a ship, the SSE-Lullaby, and the day he got this news was the second best day of his life.
  
  The absolute best day of his life was his engagement to Rebecca, a young and talented forensic annalist whom he met while attending college. It was one of those moments where you just know that the other person is the one for you and no one else mattered. Throughout is time in college their relationship started as a small slow growing seed, both cautious to enter into a full blown relationship due to their career paths. Even though it wasn't a solid decision Jack knew that he might end up gone for months at a time and that put Rebecca off for the first two years, their relationship consisting of late dinners and movies and not much else.
  
  It wasn't until their third year together that they both made a choice,the choice to be together no matter what happened. And with that their budding relationship bloomed into a beautiful engagement that lasted until the week before Jack left aboard the SSE Lullaby. That week they were married and promised that no matter how far apart they grew psychically, emotionally they will always be side by side. They have maintained sporadic contact since the ship left and the further from Earth they get the harder it is to send messages to one another, but Jack knows in his heart that Rebecca will be there when he returns.

Activated, a sonic generator in the rod excites the crystal, causing it to extrude a cutting edge much sharper than any honed metal, but far less destructive than photon enhanced weaponry. The blades are incapable of penetrating anything but soft <kevlar style> armor. Any hardened armor is impervious to them.

  Sitting back in her chair, Rae began to absently pluck the strings of her I'niri as she contemplated the choices that had led her here.
  
  "T'vir, you and T'viri are going to die if we don't do this!" Aylyssa Ormene snapped, glaring at the reluctant Solvirians huddled across the makeshift table from her. It had been two weeks since their air transport had crashed as they tried to evacuate the dig site in the Mnarn Basin ahead of a massive dust storm. Two weeks since her husband Kent had joined T'virn, the groups transfer neuter in the Beyond, and two weeks that T'vir and T'viri had been without the hormone stabilizers that all Solvirians required to survive without breeding during their annual heat.
  
  "The risks..." T'vir began.
  
  "Less than .001 percent chance of any genetic material transfer," Aylyssa interrupted. "I'm not a transfer neuter, and I'm certainly not Solvirian, but I'll take my chances if it keeps my friends alive."
  
  That choice had had consequences. T'vir and T'viri had lived, as had Aylyssa, though the experience had been traumatic, but when the fetus had been transferred to a replicator so it could develop normally, the tiny cluster of cells that had eventually become Rae had been discovered. The Solvirian medics had been awed, while the attending human medics had immediately wanted to remove the forming embryo for study. Aylyssa chose to remain on Solvir, placing herself in the hands of the Solvirian medics. Eleven months later Rae took her first breath as Aylyssa took her last, the strain on her body finally taking its toll. T'vir and T'viri, who had never left Aylyssa's side, welcomed the young hybrid into their home, naming her Raewynne T'vir Ormene, a mixed name to suit her mixed heritage.
  
  As Rae grew, it rapidly became apparent that while her appearance was mostly that of a human female, internally she was more similar to a transfer neuter. She didn't grow hair, instead developing the sensor tendrils that had earned the Solvirian's the nickname 'Gorgons', though hers were thinner and much more numerous than a typical Solvirian. Initially she was the same pink as a human child, but as she aged, her skin faded to the same white of her Solvirian parents. Fortunately, Rae also inherited the protective membranes that protected Solvirian eyes from the harsh light of their F class star, since she loved to accompany her parents on their archaeological expeditions. T'vir and T'viri made certain that Rae knew everything they did about her mother, and they attempted to expose her to the small human society that had grown up around the spaceport city of Jorkin, but after the first few attempts made it clear that the youngster was not welcome among the fully human children, Rae's exposure to human society was conducted as an intellectual exercise in the Halls of Instruction.
  
  Rae was just over 9 (16 Terran years) when a rather disturbing facet of her dual heritage reared its head. T'viri had requested that Rae retrieve a package from Jorkin containing specialized gear for their next expedition, and Rae had happily agreed. The difficulty had started after she had retrieved the package from the importer, and was loading it into the ground rover to head home.
  
  "Orr.. What's this then?" a gravelly voice had growled from the alley beside the import shop. "Looks like the little freaks all growed up ere."
  
  "You be right," a scruffy human teenager had agreed, moving around from the front of Rae's rover. "Damme if she ain't."
  
  "Chop off dem damned snakes n put a wig on er n she'd be worth a nork or three," the first voice said, it's owner moving out of the alley. A rough looking human of indeterminate years, his coverall torn and stained. "None'll miss er I says. Ship lifts in an hour. Make her ship's doxy we will."
  
  Rae's sensor tendrils had risen out of reflex, and she could sense the teen reaching for her even as the adult began to approach her from her front. Something, happened. It was as if her blood was suddenly on fire, scorching her from within, even as her two attackers seemed to slow down. It seemed as though Rae had forever to reach into the rover and grasp a shovel. Spinning, she applied the flat of the shovel blade to the temple of the teen, who's eyes were just starting to widen at her sudden movement. As he began to collapse, still in slow motion, Rae turned and stepped behind the man, delivering the same treatment, and watching dispassionately as he too began to crumple. Sudden agony ripped through her as time resumed its normal flow, her body joined her would be attackers on the ground as the fire inside her threatened to consume her very being.
  
  Rae awoke three days later in the hospital. Her would be assailants had fled offworld, and the importer had rushed her to the hospital where her normal body temperature of 105 had been discovered to be 130. Hurried therapies had reduced her core temperature to safe levels, and batteries of tests had revealed the cause of her speed and near death. All Solvirians had a vestigial gland located around the main artery between the lungs and heart. In times past, this gland had produced a potent chemical mix of oxidant rich compounds, nerve conduction boosters, and the Solvirian equivalent of adrenaline called Xviltnir, which translated roughly into Speed. It was an evolutionary throwback to when the Solvirians were ambush hunters, who attacked their prey with lightning speed and accuracy. In modern bodies however, while the boosting effects were profound, it raised the body's core temperature to dangerous levels as the massive flood of oxygen rich compounds were processed to power the lightning fast movements. Brain damage or death was a very real possibility as the bodies temperature soared. A few seconds were survivable, but anything over 15-20 seconds would most likely be lethal. Removal was not an option, as Rae's body had been exposed to Speed and all its components. Some of the compounds were now necessary for her body to function, so she would now have to learn to control her body's release of the Speed.
  
  It took nearly two years of painstaking training for Rae to gain conscious control of her bodies Speed release, mostly because it took that long for her to learn to supress most of her emotional responses. She accomplished this by throwing herself into her studies, first of the archaeology that her parents, both living and deceased, loved. Not content to study just the remains of civilizations, Rae began to expand her studies to include currently active civilizations and how they interacted. As she studied more and more, Rae wanted to be able to study the civilizations in their own words. After consulting with T'vir and T'viri, she received her first set of implants. Basic memory modules to allow her to read the various languages came first, but they were eventually followed by modules to increase her visual range, then hearing enhancements to allow her to hear the languages above and below her natural range. Finally came modules wrapped around her vocal chords, allowing her to speak directly with any species she had a language kernel for. During this time, she also studied personal combat, excelling at hand to hand, both with and without weapons. Being able to defend herself without resorting to using Speed by instinct was now a survival trait.
  
  By now, Rae was 20 Solvirian years old, and it was time for her to make her pilgrimage away from Solvir. For the next 5 years (8.75 Terran years) she would have to prove herself capable of surviving on her own wits and the limited resources she was given as seed capital. Her desire for new societies to study, new civilizations to unearth, led her to Arid Harbourage, and her skills brought her to the SSE Lullaby.

  It's Any's 2nd Memorial today, a year has passed since she died. But I can't attend this year, I'm signing up for a job in the archaeology and culture profession. She would understand if I didn't go... Even though she is the last of my family. My family had been living in poverty for most of my life, 3 years back we had it really bad. Our parents couldn't take the circumstances anymore and took their own lives. They left a note saying they sacrificed themselves so we could survive, but Any and I knew that they had been cowards and they had abandoned us. Any was the younger of us and she was most angry at our parents. She went through a huge stage of trauma and depression in her life... She couldn't take it and she hung herself a year after our parents died.... Now a year has passed again and it's her 2nd memorial year and my parents 3rd. I'm hoping this bad luck I've been having every year won't happen again. I need to get this job to support myself. I barely was able to get an education using the money that I saved and that others had given to me over pity. All my friends are planning to go in different life paths then me so I'm left all alone again. I put on my black jumpsuit and jacket and slip on some black, yes more black, buckle boots, and my special scarf and some gloves. I learned in ancient times the wore black to memorials and such, so... Even though I'm still a bit bitter towards them, I still want to show I do care...

For dangerous environments, he wears an armored Kevlar suit with a full life support system attached. His use comes from his sense of duty and his knowledge in engineering (both mechanical and electronic). He once repaired a salvaged medical drone with nothing but sheet metal, contact welding, and tweezers to cauterize an open wound from a hostile tribe spear. For combat, he uses his prosthetic limbs to their threshold, using the hard metal to absorb hits and deal hits. In close quarters, he follows no formal doctrine, following instead his intuition and experience to mirror a street boxer. He puts a lot of faith in his servos, and it shows from the amount of artillery strength punches he throws out. Firearms are not his forte, and when having to use one, usually sticks with the easy to use scatter-guns (ballistic, plasma, or laser).
- In his free time, he takes care of flora and animals, extending his compassion to even the simplest of organisms. Outside of flora, he also distracts himself with talk about philosophy, and is seen as a deep thinker. Lastly, when motivated, he writes poems and stories to fill the void during long spacecraft voyages or empty, desolate nights.

- Stoic, stubborn, and judgmental. He is reasonable by all means, but his prejudices tend to get the best of him considering that he believes his way is the best way. If you would ask him, he would point to his experience and his age as clear proof of this. Though he will never admit it, he is extremely sympathetic and a big softie. Past the cloud of smoke, and his deep, grim eyes, you would find a man who cradles children, cares for small animals, and cries for the death of the enemy. His duty, however, is above all else, and he does not hesitate to do what is necessary but this leaves much to be desired in his conscious. He is God-fearing, guilty, and sinful—a mentor and midwife to the rebirth of his character.
- Jericho, from a very young age, has been exposed to technology. His father was an electrical engineer for one of the hundreds of power companies, but for Jericho, nothing seemed more interesting than watching his father repair the wires of industrial complexes or brightening the Christmas lights in his tiny, subsidized apartment. He was fortunate to grow up on Earth, so from this, he witnessed the lavish lifestyle of businessmen and culture icons and figured how to act among the intellectual elite of his home planet. A dirty, son of an engineer that keeps the center of trade glowing bright as a beacon for all of humanity. Becoming the apprentice of his father, he proved sufficient enough to be drafted into the government engineer program where he was assigned to medical equipment. After his training, naturally, to pay for his school debts, he signed a contract to pay off the credits needed to put him through said training. Working for one of the numerous hospitals of Earth, his hospital got a sponsor for a new type of aesthetic surgery machine, but much to his dismay, the machine was ill-tested and malfunctioned with someone inside. Being the overseer for the machines use, he was the first to begin grabbing and prying open the machine after tradition shutdown procedures had failed, and having stuck his arms into what is essentially a blender of scalpels, suctions, and other aesthetic tools, when he managed to shut down the machine... His limbs had been left brutalized and destroyed. The only arm he saved was his right arm, which had held the exterior the machine to prevent the entirety of his body from falling into the chaos. Depressed and left without limbs, the state decided to pay for his prosthetic replacements and compensation for the trauma. He got out of the repayment program and with his compensation money, reserved himself to the darkness of an apartment for ten years where he studied his own natural philosophies and wrote his feelings down on paper. The start of his hobbies. Eventually though, debts stacked up as he ran out of compensation money and he ended up slaving for eight years, to pay of his debts. Lost in a world with billions of professionals like him, and no cash, he took the first opportunity at money making and joined the crew of SSE-Lullaby when they advertised their need for a "boot on the ground" medic for their culture/archaeology team. He wasn't necessarily the best surgeon, or even the best medic, but his experience in a hospital and operating the machines that people relied on made him a proven choice above the usual rabble that flock to jobs like this. He had hands-on experience. How many people can say that?

- Nevada Halley lives for her workplace, geology in particular, and is genuinely thrilled each day to put her skills to use for her captain and ship. Halley sometimes wonders if her crewmates might not understand what's so fascinating about alien rocks, but is always happy to enlighten them. Although Halley recognizes that she isn't trained for certain roles aboard the Lullaby and is generally happy to delegate, she also grapples to reconcile her placid life as a geologist with the adventurer she imagines herself to be. As a result Halley will always jump at the opportunity to do field work, but is somewhat prone to overreaching her capabilities if not kept in check. However while Halley may be a flighty, quirky individual; she is undoubtedly skilled in her area of expertise of efficient in her work aboard the ship.
- Chemistry and Geology Department: Halley is a trained geologist, specializing in topographical mapping, surveying, and mineral analysis.
- As a geologist, Halley's skills are largely scientific. Of foremost use to the Lullaby is her ability to create surface and subsurface maps using the ship's scanners and her training, helping to guide expeditions in foreign territory. She possesses an intermediate knowledge of chemistry, although wouldn't call herself a chemist by any stretch of the imagination. Outside of the lab Halley is an excellent driver of most vehicles but an appalling pilot. Her computer skills are sharp and can stretch to hacking a fair number of civilian systems, although her practical combat skills are strictly limited to spraying-and-praying, or finding cover and waiting for the noise to stop. Halley can jury-rig simple repairs, and with direction from someone more experienced can tackle complex projects as well. Her medical skills are purely theoretical, making her valuable as an assistant in procedures but not in conducting them herself.
- In addition to her scientific interests Halley enjoys wandering the ship, amateur programming, and watching holo-tapes. In addition to this she often intends to make use of the gym, but can never quite find the motivation to train on her own. When landed she takes the opportunity to explore whenever possible, and has made a habit of collecting souvenirs from the places she visits.

- Born into a wealthy family and academically successful, it seemed as though Nevada Halley would have a promising career ahead of her. However, after inadvertently running foul of the law during a research expedition, Halley was sent away aboard the SSE Lullaby to protect her father's reputation.
- Halley grew up as the daughter of a Lower Senator, enjoying ample privilege and opportunity. Aged eighteen she enrolled in a computer science course at Dohr University, although after her first year converted her degree title to Geology. Halley graduated with a master's level qualification, moving swiftly from university to a placement with a private research team. However, after their sponsor was indicted by the local government for smuggling and illegal salvaging, the team was threatened with criminal charges for suspected collaboration. Halley's father was instructed to disassociate from his daughter to protect his position. He did so; although first made sure to secure Halley a position aboard the outbound SSE Lullaby before cutting ties. While this was essentially political exile for her, she decided that it was preferable to a sentence in some backwater colonial prison. Indeed, despite Halley suspecting that she would miss 'civilised' space, the prospect of an exciting and scientifically productive life aboard the Lullaby appealed to her more than anything.
