"Xyvir"


The Core Menace

Little is known about the true intend of the Xyvir, or where they came from. The fact that their shapes can differ largely depending on their environment and colony has made it hard to tell what their origin is. What is known is that they prevent the empire from coming closer to the galactic core, defending the black hole as if their sole existence depends on it.


The Outliners are tasked with defending the borders from their attacks, but progress has been halted for a long long time now. Neither the empire nor the Xyvir budging an inch into the other direction. With the current arm of the empire relatively safe and stable, the little itch of pioneering has started to work up in the minds of many. Hence why about twenty years ago a program was launched to send exploration missions to the most reachable arm, though none of the first ships ever survived the intended stay of 2 years.


It is unknown, but most likely, that there is a Xyvir presence near the end of the Centaurus arm aswell. This race doesn't seem to spread beyond a quarter of the arm though, and never dabbles with other intelligent species that mind their own territory. If you do not have the intend to come close to the galactic core, you have nothing to fear from them.

"INANES"


INtelligent Artificial NEogenetic Soldier

First things first, unlike common belief and conspiracy theories, these are NOT androids. They are very much fleshy and meaty, just very very strong flesh and meat.


INANES are created in laboratories in the space and science division of the military, mostly in secret. Not many people are involved, and only a few actually know what types of DNA are used to create them. It is known though that they all are clones of one person, whom's DNA was the most suitable to genetically modified and tinker with.


They are mindless in the sense that they do not form opinions or emotions of their own, nor can they feel pain, guilt or make moral decisions. The tales of their ruthlessness and physical prowess are not exaggerated, and you best hope you never have the displeasure of getting them dispatched onto your back. A normal human wouldn't stand a chance fighting them directly.


Aside from their increased senses, reaction times and strength, they have the best technology infused with them from the start of their creation, which is where the confusion with androids comes from. They have gadgets that allow for many many different things, and it isn't entirely sure what the limits are. Some technological specs aren't given away, in fear of sabotage or a hostile race finding out what they can do and countering this.


They are killable, they bleed... but don't get your hopes up high just because they do.

This is a special recorded case of an INANES being mismade, but there are a few more running around that have special conditions or mutated DNA. This one was from the 42nd try, number thirteen exactly, hence the code name. A young INANES, at only two years of fully functional operation, but a distinguished one nonetheless.


His physique is completely different from the other, more bulky and physically strong ones, as the origin human DNA was replaced by a non-approved set. The son of a researcher that worked for the military to be precisely, one that died in a horrible accident at the age of 21. The researcher was locked away for tampering and sabotaging and awaits the last verdict, which according to the predictions will most likely result in a life sentence in a maximum security prison.


From an excerpt of Pro-Human communication who stole a few documents earlier that day:


- This 'version' of the INANES does not have the usual strength, but his speed and agility is a remarkable thing, far exceeding those of his peers into the near supernatural. This comes at a price though, as his structure is weaker than that of a normal human, and missteps or a wrong landing even from a low height might break his bones and bruise him. For this reason he was discarded from the fate of the outliners... lucky thing.


Apparently it was trained for a job as a pilot, but the document notes some other things, like 'high intelligence', if that even means something for those mindless monsters.


- They don't usually note intelligence as a feat, that is interesting, what else does it say?


- Not much, and I think we might have to write disabling this one off, the location is known, but it is aboard the SSE Lullaby, the exploration ship that is about to be sent off into deep space... the bloody thing is going with them, so I don't think this one will be within reach anytime soon.


- Why would they send that abomination off into space? What use would it have there?


- It just states they use it as the head-pilot, after that the document ends, they probably send the thing with them as cannon fodder, you know, like a canary in the mines... I doubt it will survive

The Steel Servants

These are made entirely of technology, and are meant to serve and to keep peace in the police force, most commonly the military police. These would be the real cannon fodder, as they legitimately have no feelings, emotions or senses. Though many people are starting to feel a bit more warmer towards them as they become more and more mainstream as daily servants for the common man.


They are everywhere, and for every citizen of the empire, there is at least one android, perhaps even more if we count the stolen and reprogrammed ones in the more backwards colonies.
