Fantasy Transcendence. (Kaoru Asuna x vynastrazzz.)

The following day was welcomed with a morning announcement of the weather and available menus for the day, Alasdair figured the orientation dinner was just to show off. Even with the amount of funding it took to build the place, it couldn't have been bottomless. As he dressed himself he took note of the features he glossed over the day before. Each room had a touch screen built into the wall by the door that listed the schedule for each student and included time slots for leisure or some other activity that was besides training their abilities and being evaluated– for Alasdair he was expected to an lecture and team building exercise that was about two hours of his morning. From there he could take a break and take any class for skills he actually cares about until the afternoon.
He couldn't shake the feeling though. It seemed less like an academy and more of a residency of guinea pigs, but with the veneer of a place of higher learning. Humans were the only animal that could be aware that it was being studied. Alasdair couldn't help but wonder what the desired reactions were being searched for as he made his way to the research hall.

Entering the room he noticed several others had arrived earlier so he searched around for a seat that was not too isolated and not too close to anyone either…

Sam awoke to an inanely annoying female voice stating weather information through those infuriatingly un-throw-stuff-at-able non-existent speakers, that she now noticed, seemed to be all over the room, not just in the school halls. She snatched the alarm clock from the nightstand -- her alarm was going to go off in 4 minutes. Why!? Why must she be awoken be humans? That's what inanimate machines were for -- so that if she threw them across the room in a rage, she wouldn't be incarcerated!
But she got out of bed (half-heartedly angry, but also tired), showered, put on her favorite black tank top, burgundy skirt, awesome-fitting wine running shoes, and what she called her Starlord coat -- a deep red (faux) leather long jacket, like Peter Quill wears in "The Guardians of the Galaxy."
When she reached the living room, her eyes were drawn to a flashing panel she hadn't noticed the day before. Maybe it hadn't been on.
When she touched it, a user menu popped up with meal options (not at all like the day before. She mourned the marbled goodness's banishment) and the days itinerary. It looked like she had some free time (Whoo!) and a choice in some of the skill based classes. But first was two hours of...a team building class? Ugh. Science. Biochemistry. Biology. And they chose to make her say Hi and shake hands...
She turned the screen off.
Then grabbed her bag, threw her earbuds in and ran to class so she wouldn't be late.

She performed a miracle -- she walked into class early, suddenly glad and proud that she'd started running 6 months ago.
She headed for the almost front of the room because if she sat in the back, she'd probably conk out. Not being the best student wasnt enough for her pride to let her fall asleep in the nearly front row. I guess no one else plans on staying up though (or everyone hates this professor), because the front rows are empty.
She plunked into the middle of the second row, thinking of church at home where aside from the pastor's family, no one wanted that much of his attention. (No offence, the man was nice.) It made her smile while she waited for the professor to arrive and begin telling them to all smile and pair up to do trust falls. That thought made her laugh quietly.
