Character History:​

Saeko was born to her two parents, Sayako Nagasawa and Hitachi Nagasawa. The two parents were the last living members of The Nagasawa family, a prestigious Ghoul family. They were known for having large territories and being blessed with beautiful children. Saeko was the second born to Sayako and Hitachi. The first born was Izumi Nagasawa, who was four years older. But long before the two of them were born the CCG was unionized and began wiping out prestigious ghoul families. First the Tanaka’s, then the Akiyama’s and so on. It had gotten to the point where two Nagasawa siblings had survived, but were now in a dire situation that they couldn’t continue their pure blood line. That’s when their distant relatives decided the best course of action. For the siblings to mate and continue the pure blood line. The incestuous children developed abnormalities, as all incest children do. Their kagune had been different. Instead of scales and shells, they developed tough muscle with bone armour around the muscle. When this happened, their abnormality in their kagune was dubbed the ‘Nagasawa curse’. It was a taboo among ghouls to commit incest, but in this case of preserving the blood line, it was necessary to them.
Both Izumi and Saeko have identical kagune. It is a rinkaku, but not the traditional. The abnormality caused it to be less fragile, the muscle being the power source and the bone to protect the muscle and cause more damage. Despite having the ‘Nagasawa Curse’ Saeko’s parents wanted their children to thrive and lead normal lives while they carried the blood. In their way of normal, it meant living the human life but being superior. They enrolled her into prestigious private schools, music lessons and martial arts lessons. They wanted their children to be superior in every way, and while Izumi obliged, eventually he rejected the idea of constricted freedom and left home. He was disowned by his parents for not living the life they wanted for him. He was a great artist and began making masks for ghouls in their ward.
Saeko stayed with her parents, trying everything in her power to please them. She was allowed no friends, and her free time was spent with her lessons. Among her time in the private all girls school, she developed a friend. A human no less, but a friend. They spoke through letters, having a notebook they exchanged since Saeko had no other ways of communication. Her friend had learned Saeko was a ghoul, but promised to keep the secret as she viewed Saeko as a valued friend. Things were good for a while, until Saeko’s grades started slipping. Saeko was extremely intelligent but this new friend had distracted her somewhat. Saeko was no longer top of her class. She wasn’t getting first place in exams anymore and her tests were no longer 100’s. This angered her parents and they set out to find the truth. Upon discovering the journal, they couldn’t bring suspicion to themselves by killing the human girl. Instead they isolated Saeko and moved away, having a homeschool tutor teach her until she graduated. It devastated her, but was brainwashed into thinking that friends are toxic towards ghouls and were not permitted. When she graduated, her parents wanted her to go into the business field of university but that was far from what Saeko wanted.
Throughout the years of her isolation, she would sneak out frequently. Being a woman alone at night was dangerous, but the men who harassed her were in far more danger then they could believe. That’s when Saeko began binge eating, and where her love of hearing Bones Snapping came to be. As she was killing her meal one night, she shoved her hand into the mans torso. When the man's ribs broke and snap, it piqued her curiosity. Throughout her victims, she began experimenting with the sounds that bones made. After a while, she began to no longer discriminate her victims. Human, Ghoul, Female, Male, Child, Elderly, it never mattered to her. Eventually humans began to bore her, a taste for something different made her mouth water when she killed her first ghoul. It was a sneak attack against the victim, her falling body making her knees land against his spine and breaking it.
When she began to cannibalize, she earned the reputation of Bone Snapper. The Ghoul that would torture you by breaking your bones and eating you at the same time. It was horrendous. After she found her love of bones, she no longer wanted to go to college for business. She no longer wanted to be a CEO of a large company and lead the Nagasawa family in prosperity. When bringing this up with her parents, they were infuriated. Saeko had wanted to go into the Osteology field… The study of bones but more specifically, human and ghoul anatomy. Refusing to give up on her dream, her parents disowned her and threw her out to fend for herself. She no longer had parents, but the one person that was always there for her was Izumi.
She spent most of her time at her brothers side, building up a ghoul group that she named “The Legion.” It was more like a cult, but she took in injured or endangered ghouls and gave them a home. They lived in an abandoned hospital building. Not the best home, but the ghouls were grateful. There was just one catch.
Each new member had to go through a rite of passage. She tortured them until they gave in total submission. Whether this was breaking their bones or stitching their eyes and mouth shut, there was no discrimination. As the Legion grew, so did her reputation, and her age. There was one odd thing though, with her and Izumi’s cannibalism somewhat halted their biological clock. There was no sign of aging. Saeko was in her thirties but still appeared like she was 18 years old. It was an immortality trick, and both Izumi and her took advantage of this.
And though she was still physically young, but biologically old, there was something she was yearning for.
A child.
To continue that bloodline, she desperately wanted a child but knew her wish could not be granted, as the bloodline would no longer be pure. Months and months of searching for a solution, she finally came to one.
Izumi.
Izumi could bless her with a child, mate with her and keep the bloodline pure. When bringing up this issue with Izumi, he held no hesitation and agreed to mate with her. There was no regret, no awkwardness, just two people sharing their ideals and having a child.
Six months later, Mirai Nagasawa was born. A female ghoul that held the pure blood, and the Princess and future heir of The Legion.

History: Ever heard someone say "ogre are not real" well maybe they're not, but he sure his, Arthur grew up in west Africa with his biological parents he had a pretty simple childhood made of beating and yelling, nothing out of the ordinary; no, the most important detail in arthur childhood is that he was one of the tallest kids around, he has always been and more importantly, he was hella strong even the adults human or ghouls could not match him, at the age of 16 he was recruited by a local gang called the "raging Ghouls" a melting pot of madness and disorder the test to enter the gang was to fight a veteran member and win, arthur did not just won, he killed the guy tearing him apart like wet paper. He rapidly rise through the rank until he himself become the boss leaving a trail of blood and corps behind him earning the nickname beastial for his savagery, beastial life end when him and his parents supposedly killed by ghoul's hunters, his parents may have died but he didn't, rampaging in the west africa region he find his parents murderer and take revenge. He then go to japan rejoining his uncle, no one know of him those who do are either way dead or his new ally, even the CCG itself have little intel on him (that why he doesn't have a rank yet). His objectif keeping as low of a profile as possible and what the best way to do so than to have eyes and ears everywhere? Nothing can be hide from him not even the shadows themself. So if you feel like you're being observed, know that the ogre eyes are on you.

Personality: ​

Zena is eccentric, optimistic but somewhat self-reserved. She is not quick to trust, but once accustomed, she makes a loyal and determined ally, as well as the voice of reason and sensibility. She is both law abiding and tries to refrain from violence in any given case, preferring to use her trapeze skills as a deterrent when hunting and in combat. It must be said that she would much prefer to dance and train alone in the studio than spend too much time socialising, but there are days when the quiet cup of coffee is enough to suffice for the morning hours.

History: Zena’s history is not altogether complex, although it is not something that she openly shares. Both her mother and father being ghouls, it was a wonder that they had managed to secure more higher-ranking careers in Tokyo’s banking sector and car manufacturers. As a child, Zena lived with her parents, her elder brother Sirus, and younger sister, Auine.
Misfortune fell on the Kuzuki household, and their happy home experienced a breakdown. On the night of November 21st, it was reported that a handful of ghoul rebels had set the Capital’s main Finance Office on fire – the death toll exceeding 297 people, with 80 missing. Her mother and little sister were presumed dead. Zena was forced into boarding school as a young teen after her father’s mental and physical health began to decline. Her brother nowhere to be found after the incident, she often makes regular visits to care for her father during the week and provide for him. Having nearly finished her studies, Zena has not only enrolled herself in beginning a career as a physiotherapist in the nearby hospital, but has also committed herself to the ‘Resistance’ – fighting alongside the ghoul community in the face of opposition, in secret.

Her 'trademark' combat style is ultimately her ability to scale heights, move almost rhythmically and with poise. She entices and distracts her victims by swinging and climbing, enabling all her gymnastic based skill and more importantly - her trapeze. Known as the 'White Dragon' or 'serpent', her movement ritual is rhythmically likened to that of a chinese dragon dance during combat, as well as her Ukaku wing set which produce the appearance of jewel-like flames, white in appearance

History: Hansuke was born to a family of cowards. His parents were both ghouls, so low on the CCG's radar that they were never given ranks. His father worked quietly as a janitor, keeping his head down and making no effort to get a better job for himself. He tried to be as inconspicuous and unremarkable as possible. His mother worked in a soup kitchen. Both of his parents dropped out of high school before graduation, too afraid to continue spending all their time around groups of humans.

To maintain their cover as nobody humans, his parents ate only the scraps left behind by other, stronger ghouls, and eventually forced Hansuke to live the same way (starving and weak, relying on others to continue living). One day, the CCG came knocking, questioning Hansuke's father about a report of questionable behavior from one of their neighbors. His father, having never encountered a CCG officer but hearing horror stories his whole life, betrayed his human façade by acting terrified, stuttering and shaking when he should've had no reason to be afraid.

So, the CCG officer, suspicions raised about the origins of Hansuke's parents, forced his way into the house and killed them both with ease. Hansuke only survived because his mother shoved him into an air conditioning vent before she died and his neighbors, when questioned later, never knew his reclusive parents had a child.

That was the day, at the tender age of six, that Hansuke promised himself that he would never be weak again. He fed off the bodies off his parents (until the CCG came back to collect their kagune), and then he lived on the streets. Starving and half-dead, Hansuke was eventually found by a human couple that (because he was so malnourished) thought he was much younger than he was and took him in. Their apartment smelled like lilies. The couple wrapped him in blankets and tried to feed him while they reported a missing child to the police. It was the first time Hansuke had ever experienced true kindness from another person.

Before the police arrived, Hansuke painted the walls with their blood. He didn't do it on purpose. The woman leaned too close to him trying to pat his head, and his instincts took over when he caught the smell of her. That was the only time he ever killed by accident. Homeless again at 6, Hansuke freely used his looks to lure humans into dark corners, where he killed and ate them. None of his victims lived long enough to report him to the CCG, so he got away with it until he grew out of his childish features and he couldn't pass the blood on his clothes off as belonging to his mom/dad.

Eventually, a kind old man took pity on the local homeless boy and offered Hansuke a job cleaning up his shop, on the condition he use the money to better himself. He used the money to take online classes on his boss' computer and did very little work at all. The CCG started calling him 'Black Cat' because of the mask he wore while he carried his victims off into the shadows. After a while, the old man who gave him a second chance began to make a connection between the boy who worked in his shop and the ghoul that appeared around the area at night with a costly looking mask. He called the CCG.

By the time the CCG came, Hansuke was long gone and the old man (the only one who knew his real name in the 7th Ward), burned with his shop. Hansuke relocated to the 8th in order to attend University, and he quickly carved out a small corner as his own.​

History: Akito had a rough start since her birth. Her mother passing away during childbirth and her father descending into madness after his wife's death. He resented Akito since birth, and made sure she knew it. Akito heavily resembling his wife, he descended into madness and dove into drinking and gambling. Eventually, money ran out and Akito was begging for food from strangers, often without any results. She dove for scraps in dumpsters and trashcans, even stealing from some stores. Once her father was completely mad, he began to look for money in the wrong places. Borrowing money from the wrong people, people who happened to be ghouls. Specifically, The Legion. When seeking repayment, Akito's father was in a hard stuck place, having nothing to offer that they wanted.
Except for one thing.
Akito.
Through bargaining and negotiating, he sold Akito to the Ghoul group known as Legion. This caused him immense guilt almost immediately, hallucinating that his wife began to hate him for what he did to Akito. Within a couple of weeks, he committed suicide by hanging. During her stay in Ghoul custody, Akito was subjected to unspeakable things. Things that she got used to over time, and eventually rid her of most emotions, ones that she is just getting back after more than a decade. One thing she would never forget, was preparing the food for the Ghoul group, torture, and being forced to cannibalize her own kind, humans. But, Akito had always been smart. Throughout living in The Legion, she began to plan her escape almost immediately. It took two years to execute and by that time she was already nine years old. The only thing that failed in her plan were the amount of ghouls that were actually in The Legion.
Eventually, she was caught by The Leader. Akito never knew the leaders real name, only knowing her by The Wendigo, Bonesnapper and The Queen.
Akito was punished heavily for her escape attempt.
Her arms were amputated in a gruesome manner, before throwing her in a ditch to bleed out and die.
Two Ghoul investigators were investigating the area, given a tip that there was a body, presumably killed by ghouls, in the ditch. What they discovered was a young girl, still alive. Akito is reminded of this gruesome act every single day that she looked at her arms.
Taken in by an orphanage and enrolled in the CCG Academy and given prosthetic arms that reached right below her shoulders. It took years of physical therapy to get used to them, but she was a hard worker and fast learner. She conquered it quickly, and soon rose to the top of her class in the CCG academy, where she was able to graduate early at the age of 16 and be instantly be put into field work.
She rose ranks quickly, reaching Special Class Investigator at the age of 18, just in two years while it took many years of hard work and survival for others.
Akito never forgets her childhood, no matter how much she distracts herself. One thing she promises; she'll treat no other living thing the way she was treated.

History: Alessio came from a completely unknown ghoul family that consisted of his Japanese father and Italian immigrant mother. His family was extremely poor and were constantly moving to steer clear of CCG’s targeted areas. Alessio could never manage to make a single friend and in fact, his parents discouraged any social interactions. His only comfort through these dark times were the old and dusty books his mother had brought over to Japan from Italy. Plays written by Shakespeare and dark tales by Edgar Allan Poe brought great joy into Alessio’s life and his parents were amazed when they saw how advanced his reading abilities were at such a young age. This would all change rapidly when Alessio’s father was killed by CCG investigators when he got caught bringing home human remains for his family. Alessio’s mother was devastated and her sanity spiraled out of control. She began to emotionally and mentally abuse Alessio and purposely starve him from food while she became a well-known binge eater. Months went by and Alessio’s own state of mind was crumbling. He couldn’t tell if he deserved what was happening to him. Day after day, he would grow hungrier and hungrier with his mother only feeding him when he was on the brink of death. At just the young age of 10, Alessio waited patiently for his mother to return one night. His mind was blank and his whole body trembled in anger. These emotions fueled the formation of his kagune, where his arm manifested into a massive blade. The doorknob turned and Alessio plunged his kagune through the door into his mother’s abdomen. He ate well that night, feasting on his own mother. For the next 10 years, Alessio would survive on his own, killing his way around Osaka while also making himself one of the CCG’s prime targets. At the age of 19, Alessio settled down and took up a job as a tailor to help conceal himself more and fulfill his plans on continuing to rise up in the world.​
