Plot Synopsis

In the world of Titansward, the people put their faith to the goddess, Eden, who resides in the heavens known as Sanctuary. Though their faith is weakening as they turn from prayer to power. The world is caught in the midst of war and people are losing faith in Eden as their prayers of peace go unanswered. The kingdom of Eigros, ruled by King Juste III, a ruler who still believes in Eden, fights only to make peace between Eigros and its warring nation, Archaedea. Alongside Juste, is the elfin ruler of Alrehawke, King Ricard, who fights Archaedea due to its oppression of elfin people. Archaedea’s ruler, King Madoss, has the idea to rule over Titansward, and plans to do so by brute force and perhaps a myth about Eden, turning faith against them. Madoss’ intentions being that to destroy faith in Eden and render the church a useless power in the world.

This RP will have you developing characters and choosing sides. Take on the role of either a human or elf and join the Eigros/Alrehawke alliance, join up with Archaedea to help take over Titansward, or just be neutral throughout everything.

The Way This Works

This RP will be treated like a Video Game . Unexpected twists and turns will happen and as a result, something (good or bad) can happen to ANY character at ANY time, so please be aware of this. (You will receive an e-mail saying that your character is the target of something though/This WILL NOT happen often). This may be different from other RPs and if you do not like the concept, you do not have to participate, though I encourage you to do so. If for any reason you question why this functions as so, look at like this;

A video game will kill off or have an event happen to a character and you (usually) do not have control over it, and only two things are given as options to you (the player) and they are: keep going to find out what happens next, or quit. These events do not happen often and usually only result after a major event. (Which means, chances are, your character will be spared).

Because of this, I encourage having at least two (2) characters in the event fate takes control of a character. Throughout the RP, many characters will be introduced who may be taken over control by other authors.

Basic Concepts

  • You are free to choose your alliance off the bat or develop your reasoning for choosing a side in the RP as you go along the story (or just be neutral)

Changing alliance is acceptable should an event occur causing a character to defect.

[*]The only races in this game are Human and Sylvan Elf. (Obviously animals and creatures appear but they only will appear as pets or monsters).

  • Some information about both on innate concepts and powers:

Human: Might and magic but not always together. Humans are built for power and are better able to take on roles of heavy armored classes or learn the magics of the arcane elements (fire, air, earth, and water). They possess average speed, but excel at physical or magical oriented roles.
  • Sylvan Elf: The child of nature. While not all are necessarily tall in stature, they possess amazing speed and dexterity. With these abilities, they make for excellent marksmen and ninjas. While not able to control arcane magic as well, they can control nature around them as their magic. While their small stature and amazing reflexes aid in combat, their brute power does not match that of a human.

You are allowed to create a hybrid of the two races but they cannot combine every outstanding factor of both Human and Elf.

[*]Lore throughout will mention races that have gone extinct and/or may exist, but only the two mentioned above are playable.

Character Sheet Outline

This is just a basic outline for characters in copy/paste format. You do not have to go overboard on information, just enough to get a brief backstory/idea of that character. I recommend having at least 2 characters just to keep the story flowing and interaction up. I WILL BE APPROVING CHARACTERS.

*Name:

*Gender:

*Age:

*Race:

*Class:

*Weapon:

*Ability 1:

*Ability 2:

*Biography:

Other Information:

*Appearance:

Character Theme:

*Means this information is necessary for creation.

Rules

These are just some rules to go by.

*I am the Game/Dungeon Master. (This RP follows a pretty straightforward story with quest arcs and such appearing, though I am always up for ideas).

*Detailed means detailed. (One liners are not acceptable, there is plenty to talk about and if you need help, e-mail someone for assistance on posts).

*No Mary-Sues. (The biography part of the sheet is just some basic backstory, the main part of a character's journey is how their story unfolds).

*Enjoy the ride.

The story begins in the farmland city of Hyrien.

Town Theme:

A rooster was screeching loudly to awaken the town; inside a small house, Kaine awoke and looked to the window to see the sun's rays peaking through. He threw the sheets off of his bed, got up, and walked over to the window, and saw many farmers heading out to tend and harvest their crops. Despite the war going on, Hyrien seemed to be a haven away from it all. Kaine decided to get ready and put on his 'casual' armor and attached his sword sheath to the belt. "I hope all is well for you today, brother..." Kaine spoke softly, repeating this phrase every morning as a prayer to Liam. Even though Kaine had left Eigros Kingdom to pursue meditated training, he still missed seeing and battling his older brother on a daily basis; he also missed seeing all the castle servants and future soldiers. He opened the door and stepped out of the house and saw the morning sun shining on this small village.

Jenounes slowly opened his eyes and noticed he wound up in a bed. He quickly panicked and hurt himself in the process of getting up, trying to see where he was and noticed that his armor was set in the corner, hung up neatly and his spear leaning in the corner. "Hiryu!" Jenounes called out, "Where are you boy?"

Like a dog, Hiryu popped his head up by Jenounes' bed and gently rested his head on Jenounes' lap. The elf smiled and stroked Hiryu's head and ears. "Where are we?" he wondered as he looked around the small hovel. Eventually he heard footsteps outside the door and was curious to see who the person was. The door creaked open and an elderly woman appeared, holding a tray with bread and water.

"I see you have awoken." she said, smiling and setting the tray on the bed, "I'm Lettie... and you are?"

Jenounes sat up in the bed, trying to get in a comfortable position to ease the pain, "Jenounes Stein... I am a knight from Alrehawke's vanguard," he stated proudly. "Though, where am I?"

Lettie walked over to the window and moved a curtain over to look outside. "You are in Hyrien. My husband and I were walking along the shores and saw you and your dragon. We brought you here to mend you back to full health."

"I thank you for this. I owe you... gah, my head hurts so much," he spoke a bit loudly, grabbing his head with his left hand. "The last thing I remember is being on a ship and another ship attacked us. Was anyone else on the shore!?"

"Unfortunately, only one other was on the beach, but he died shortly after we tried to help him-"

Jenounes' face turned gloomy, "I see..."

Lettie walked over to the table and grabbed a green gem inside a garnet case. "He asked us to give this to you though, said you would know what it was." She tossed the gem over.

Jenounes looked at the gem, "It's a dragon's relic. They are used to channel dragon magics." He clutched the gem and looked at Lettie. "Was he buried nearby?"

Lettie nodded and told Jenounes she would take him to the burial site after he got some rest.

Hyrien could only be described as bucolic in Finbar's mind. The rustic wooden houses, the sound of children playing, and the smell of rich soil made him feel right at home. Fin set his horse into a trot, riding his way through town and watching life pass by as if he weren't even there. Eventually he happened upon a cozy looking inn close to the village square. Now couldn't be a better time to get some much needed rest, he thought.

As he walked inside, Fin was welcomed with a roaring hearth and the smell of spiced meat roasting on a spit. He didn't realize how hungry he was until his stomach growled from the delicious scent. With long, graceful strides, he approached the innkeeper. "A meal, if you please." Fin asked, tersely but politely.

Freija awoke to the sound of her family talking over breakfast, she got out of bed and put on her work clothes which consisted of a long white shirt with blue stripes on the sleeves and black pants. After putting on her shirt she slipped on her brown, leather boots and opened the door and walked into the room where her parents were eating. The meal on the table was a small portion of bread and cheese.

"Not much this morning again, eh?" Freija asked as she took a small part of the bread and broke it up into chunks. "I suppose I should head out to the market after work."

Her mother smiled and handed Freija a knife for the butter, "Well we ran out of some fruit as you noticed and we never got a chance to make a journey to Shear to get more."

Freija perked up, "What if I go for you?"

Freija's father intervened, "It is a bit of a journey, you have to go through Lake Shear and back. Perhaps a day or so to go to Shear and return here. Though I want you to have someone join you, I don't want you going into Lake Shear alone- wild animals and such roam around."

Chewing on a piece of bread, Freija rolled her eyes a bit, "I suppose I can ask someone in the guild hall, since none of my friends would join me." Deciding to leave soon, she scarfed down the food and went back into her room to finish getting ready. She put on a long-sleeved coat with gold embroidery designs and tied her hair back into a pony-tail. The only thing missing was her katana, which she tied around her belt. "Time to pay a little visit to the guild hall." She went back into the kitchen and told her parents she would be back as soon as she could. Leaving the house, Freija headed towards the guild hall. It was not far from her house but she arrived at a barracks with a large sign hanging on the wall reading, "Guild Hall," on it. As she walked in, she looked around at who would be a good travel companion.

At the inn, a man dressed in a long coat sat at the bar, sipping on ale but slowly set his beerstein on the table as he saw an elf walk in and ask for a meal. He slowly got up and walked over to the elf and stood near him as he talked to the innkeeper. He tried to eavesdrop on the conversation, but he was more curious as to what an elf was doing all the way in Hyrien. Finally he intervened and joined the conversation, "I'll treat you to a meal if you tell me a little about yourself- the name's Iain Rosenheim. What about you?"

A trail of small footsteps rested in the mud, if followed it'd lead up to a figure shrouded in a dirty brown and green cloak. Hidden under the cloak was a Sylvan Elf named, Robin Maynet. A Wind-Fighter for the kingdom of Alrehawke. He was walking at a steady pace towards a town named, Hyrien. 'Not the place I'd like to be, but somewhere to subside my hunger, I suppose.' He said internally.

He made his way into an inn, the smells of cooked meat and ale flooded his nostrils. Moments after sitting down he was greeted by a waitress. Human, of course. "What would you like, Sir?" The elf took off his his hood before answering, showing off his white hair. "Beef stew and ale." His voice was deep and as smooth as silk. She simply nodded and walked off.

He didn't enjoy humans, so after the stew he planned to rent a room and leave by first light. He glanced to his right and saw another elf. And beside him, a human. He didn't think much of it, so he turned back the way he was facing. Eager to receive his stew.

As Finbar nibbled on his meal of venison haunch, he took note of a young man coming to sit next to him. His eyes moved to look to the stranger who had approached him, noting his features. A young human man clad in a long coat, with short brown hair and a rapier hanging at his belt.

"I'll treat you to a meal if you tell me a little about yourself- the name's Iain Rosenheim. What about you?"

So direct! But Fin has had stranger encounters with humans, he supposed. He finished his meal, waiting until the last of it was swallowed down before he spoke. "Finbar Rhovanor. Ranger Corps. Born and raised in Arlehawke." he said plainly, pushing his clean plate aside. "Now, I'd say that meal was worth around twenty crowns. Hope your wallet's full enough."

As he glanced about the common room, Fin's eyes finally fell upon another elf, military type, sauntering over to a nearby table. With his long pointed ears and bright silver hair, he was hard not to miss in a place like this. Not wishing to gawk any further, Fin's eyes returned to his new acquaintance.

As the morning progressed, Kaine made his way into the Guild Hall when he got the chance and was looking at various jobs and guilds recruiting. "None of these seem to fit me." Kaine remarked and grabbed a list of jobs to look at and sat at a table. After looking through the jobs available, he saw none that would interest or benefit him so he sat and chatted with others there to find any additional information. A few minutes later a girl walked in and looked around- this girl looked like she would have an adventurous spirit. Kaine got up from the table and walked over, "Kaine Whitewill, at your service," he said, bowing to Freija. "Let me guess, you need someone for a job? If so allow me to accompany you."

Unable to rest, Jenounes got out of bed and put on his armor and grabbed his spear and placed it on his back. "Miss Lettie?" He asked as he walked through the house, "Would you please take me to my friends grave?"

"I can tell you are anxious, it has not been long for you to rest, but I will take you."

Jenounes was happy she was taking him to the site of his comrade and they left the house and she lead him near the northern entrance to Lake Shear's forest. Finally they stopped at a small cemetery and Lettie pointed out a grave that was recently dug. "There is his grave." Lettie waited as Jenounes walked up to the grave.

When Jenounes approached the grave he knelt down to look at the headstone, which was a wooden cross, with nothing etched on it. He turned his head to Lettie, "Did he give anyone his name?" His expression dimmed when Lettie shook her head 'no'. "Your death will not be in vain, brother. I shall find out who you were and spread your tale to the other warriors." Lettie watched as Jenounes knelt and waited silently, as if waiting for an answer.

"Deary, just follow the way back, I must return to the garden but you are welcome to return to my home." Lettie said, turning her back and returning to the town.

Jenounes mourned a bit longer before finally standing up and saluting the grave. "I will avenge you, brother." After his salute, he returned to the town and decided to check out the inn and see what kind of people were inside. As he opened the door, he was greeted by the aroma of beef and ale, but then he noticed two more elves in the inn. He saw one sitting with a man in a coat and another seeming to mind his business. He approached the elf who joined the man in the coat and removed his helmet, revealing his pale face, silvery hair and pointed ears. "Are you from Alrehawke?" he asked, directing the question to Finbar.

Elayne walked into the small inn not expecting much. Still, only four patrons is a bit embarrassing. Two elves sat around far away from another, one was ordering a meal. The other two were large humans, thuggish looking and mean. I came in with a single job in mind though and I would act on that. In bardish circles there is a code used, two nods to the barkeep means that you want to play at your inn. A shake of the head says “no get the hell out,” one nod means that you will get food, two nods means that there might be pay in it. If he shook his head at you at any point to you during the performance you must leave. Those were the preset rules for Barding. The bartender shrugged.

Elayne walked up to the bartender, “You gonna pay me for playing or give me food?”

“Eh.” Said the bartender as he cleaned a glass. “Do you what you want.”

“Okay. Do I get paid?” Elayne asked.

“In friendship. Or maybe light hugs.” The bartender said, as the two thuggish looking guys began walking over. Elayne was dumbfounded.

“You a half-elf?” Said the big guy to the right with an axe. “Cause, I can barely stand norma’ elves.”

“Half-breed.” Agreed the other man armed with a short sword.

The lute made a big thud as it smashed into the skull of the short sword wielding man. The axe wielding man got the advantage of her though and knocked her to the ground with a large hit. She needed help.

Freija noticed the man named Kaine who immediately walked up to her. "Well, you do look like you know a thing or two about combat and exploring." She grabbed Kaine and walked out of the guild hall and shut the door. "Some of those people in there are quite scary and crafty. Your armor colors, they are close to Eigros's colors." After taking a minute to look over Kaine, she finally decided he would be a companion that she could trust. "My name is Freija Arior. My job for you is to accompany me to Shear and through Lake Shear."

Iain smiled and laughed, "That is nothing!" he said, opening a bag full of gold and silver coins, "There you are barkeep." "So if you don't mind me asking, is Alrehawke still doing well? It has been awhile since my sister and I visited that place." Before Iain got an answer, he saw an elf clad in golden armor approach and remove his helm. "Today is just the day for elfin meetings. "Name's Iain, come join us!" As the golden knight joined them, a girl with a lute walked in and she was followed by two thugs and he quickly knew they would be trouble after they started to cause a scene. After one started a fight, the girl swung her lute at a thug and Iain grinned, "Excuse me, this looks like something I'd enjoy," drawing his rapier he approached a thug holding the girl down, "Why not pick on someone your own size?!" Iain swung his leg, kicking the thug and freeing the girl and he held out his left hand to her, "Need some help?"

As Freija spoke they heard a noise coming from the inn and Freija ran towards it, grabbing Kaine to join her, drawing her katana as she approached to see a girl with lute and two thugs. "What is going on here?"

“Apparently they think I’m some sort of half breed.” Elayne said quickly as the distraction allowed her to shove the man off. The other man felt his head as he sputtered something about stealing his gold, before brushing himself off. He punctuated it all with “Half-breed.” Elayne looked into her pockets, she had actually stolen a few gold off the bigger man when she was pinned, but that was only after the fight began. As the man with the big axe pulled his wounded friend over his shoulders, Elayne stuck her hands out and thanked the person who saved her. “Thanks for not letting me get beaten up, names Elayne.”

Finbar had been having a nice enough evening, relaxing in a comfortable chair and chatting it up with the other patrons. That was, until the half-blood arrived. Now, Fin had nothing against half-elves, but the second she strolled into the common room, he could smell trouble brewing from her direction. Within moments, a drunk man began shouting the most awfully vile obscenities at her, and it all went downhill from there. Soon, fists were flying, and even Iain had blindly tossed himself into the fray. Fin was about the abandon the common room altogether and get back on the road when, out of the blue, a third elf approached him with a question. "Are you from Arlehawke?" asked the knight, removing his helm. "Born and raised, yes." Fin confirmed. "What of it?"

@Aeon Sagittarius

Kaine was reluctantly drug across Hyrien as Freija took him to examine the ruckus at the inn. When they saw everything go down, he watched as the man flung himself into the fray and helped the girl out. The man certainly did not look the part to do so, but perhaps his thirst for battle interested him. "Everything seems to be all right now." As Kaine helped fix the damages that could be fixed, he thought of Freija's proposition. Finally he thought it through and agreed to join her on her quest to Shear. "It would be my honor to join you to Shear." Kaine then looked at the other people in the inn who might be willing to join as well. "Who here thirsts for adventure and wishes to join this lovely lady and I to the city of Shear?!"

Jenounes looked intently at Finbar. "You look like you have some stories to tell, but I was wondering, do you know the way to Alrehawke?" After asking his question he overhead Kaine asking everyone inside the inn about joining them, without missing a beat he asked, "What's in Shear?"

Kaine looked a bit awestruck but noticed Jenounes was elfin and decided to give him a break, "Why it is a marvelous port-city where ships travel all across the world!"

Jenounes knew something exciting might happen along the way, but perhaps Shear could hold an answer as to returning to Alrehawke to inform Ricard of the crash of his ship. "Sir," he said to Finbar, "Would you join me on this lad's quest to Shear? I want to travel, but I want to travel with another one of sylvan birth... and also learn of your story- you seem to know quite a bit."

As Kaine proclaimed his speech he noticed Jenounes might be a possible companion and put a watchful eye on him. "He may prove to be one hell of a warrior." After that, he noticed the girl with the lute, "What about this songstress too?"

<p><span style="font-size:14px;">The bowl of Beef stew was placed in front of the silver-haired elf. He nodded at the waitress before lifting the spoon filled with broth and tiny chunks of meat, and placing it in his mouth. "</span><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="color:#b30000;">Sickening.</span></span><span style="font-size:14px;">" He muttered, a disgusted expression cluttered his face. He nudged the bowl a few inches away from himself. The waitress who stood there during his judgement was somewhat annoyed, but she kept it hidden and politely asked if he'd like something else. "</span><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="color:#b30000;">No, I realize now it was a mistake thinking you humans could prepare a decent meal. <p>

His words were cut off by a loud thud. He raised a brow as he turned to see what the noise was. He wasn't all that surprised someone had been attacked. After all, he <em>was</em> in a place run by humans. A race that were in his eyes idiots and brutes. He stood up as if he were about to help but quickly leaned against a nearby wooden wall, remembering the word "Half-elf" escape one of the men's lips. '<span style="color:#b30000;"><em>A revolting mix of good and bad</em></span><span style="color:#b30000;">.</span>' He thought to himself. He watched the events unfold and once the entertainment ended he grabbed his ale and placed the correct amount of money on the table. No tip. They were lucky he was even paying for the slop.</p>

<p>

Something caught his ear. Adventure? Now that was something he'd enjoy. '<em><span style="color:#b30000;">But with those two? A human and even worse, a half-elf?</span></em>' Fat chance. However there was a question that lingered in his mind. He rubbed the bottom of his chin, a fake smile slowly crept across his face. "<span style="color:#b30000;">Will there be a reward of any sort?</span>" He asked, raising his head so they could see the forged smile.</p>

"If it's war stories you're looking for, then I'm afraid I have few." Finbar began, looking over at the couple who'd just arrived before continuing with his response. "But I suppose I can still recall some stories from my hunting years. I'm no stranger to action." Finbar was glad to see that the knight had so kindly offered him a place by his side. He seemed to look the part of a fighter, and in his armor he towered over most men of his race. He was good soldier material, which is why Finbar accepted his proposition without a hint of hesitance. "I would be honored to travel by your side, kinsman." he said. "You may call me Finbar Rhovanor, of the Elven Ranger Corps. And you are?"
