"I'm Primrose Tamlen, it's a pleasure to meet you Jabari," The small elf said with a smile, glancing around the table. She was going to say something, when some idiot bumped into her. At first, she glared, brushing him off, her hand moving to check her coin purse. Unfortunately, while she was typically left alone by bandits and other unsavoury types, she seemed to often find herself a target of thieves. Cowardly bastards. Reagurdless, that hand moved to check for her dagger, then for her necklace. Of course. Slamming her hand on the table, she scanned the tavern, spotting the weird man who had bumped into her, then glancing to the Orc, "Mind following me for a moment darling?" Her eyes wandered to the others, "Would any of you mind assisting me?" Primrose didn't even wait for an answer, assuming one of them would follow her if they wanted to.

Drawing her dagger, as soon as she got to the red mans booth, her dagger would pierce the cloth or whatever it was he was wearing right there above the shoulder closest to her. "I think you have something of mine you little shit," Primrose said sweetly, "I want my damn necklace back."

The tiefling was simply enjoying his brew and relishing in a job well done, when a dagger was thrust in his direction by the same little elf woman he had swiped the necklace from in the first place. Yossarian's eyes widened, and he let out a rather unflattering yelp as the blade pinned his rather flamboyantly multicolored (and expensive) coat to the wall. He looked up at the woman with a rather embarrassed smile, before dexterously slipping out of his coat and sliding to the other side of the booth.

"I how you know how expensive that jacket is. It was a gift to a prince. Well, it was a gift before I stole it." The demon looking man said, as he tapped his black nails on the table before pulling the necklace out of his pocket. "I mean, if you want it that badly, I might as well just give it to you... but I want in on that job you guys are talking about."

Jabari Asfour

"A thief?" Jabari drew his sword and stalked over behind Primrose. "Where I come from, if you steal without a hell of a reason, you lose a finger," said the warrior to the alleged thief. If there was one thing the man hated, it was a thief. There was a philosophy of sacrifice deeply rooted in his people's tradition. Thievery was a spit in the face to a person's sacrifice centered around a treasured item. Looking at the thief, he could probably toss him around like a ragdoll. "Give the lady back her necklace and I'll spare a finger. Fight, and I'll take your whole hand." The man's voice was gruff, a calmer anger than the one he showed to Sarastro. This was an anger that would have him throwing blades. The guy asked about joining their group, presumably as an exchange for that necklace he stole.

"You're out of your damn mind if you think I'm gonna allow a thief anywhere near me." The man's blade dripped a green liquid. Poison and it was most likely very deadly and, with not magic to identify or cure it fast, a scratch was all but fatal, let alone the type of dose that would come from a stab.

Sarastro Lancerose - Redvale Tavern

Sarastro's bloodline had been blessed with enhanced sight, many ages ago by an owl spirit. The gift diluted over the centuries, but an innate power isn't removed easily. With perception several stages above the ordinary, Sarastro saw what happened immediately, his eyes following the key movements of the body of the tiefling and the woman he just robbed. Sarastro realized what was taken even a moment before she herself did, and sighed deeply. This was going to end badly.

Primrose asked him and the others to assist, and he thought for a single second, and not a second longer. He nodded, civilly saying, "Okay. Just don't kill him."

Sarastro followed after Primrose quietly, if only to ensure no one died over the theft. It'd be a shame if a stolen necklace led to tragedy. They approached the booth where the faux-drunk tiefling sat, enjoying a cold one.

Then she pulled out a dagger on his ass and pinned him by the jacket.

Sarastro's eyes widened a millimeter in response and threw a quick glance at the bartender and the patrons. No one seemed to notice or care about the rapidly escalating situation, which was in their favor, as the guard might be called otherwise to intervene. Well, calling the guard and telling them about the theft would have been the mature thing to do in the first place.

Now everyone was accountable, not that Sarastro was bothered.

He looked back at the situation and saw as the tiefling gracefully slid out of his jacket, speaking with frank calmness.

No, not even calmness. This was almost flippant.

Sarastro narrowed his brows, a mite disturbed by the calm reaction to abrupt violence. Most people would already have their fight-or-flight responses through the roof at this point and be trying to run away, but not this man. He was a tiefling, so a little strangeness was to be expected, but this was no mere eccentricity.

Sarastro suppressed the urge to laugh.

He gave the tiefling an amused but not-quite-mocking smile as he said, "And I thought I don't worry about dying. Drawing the ire of a woman by stealing her jewelry is one thing, but remaining calm as she threatens you is another. Not to mention you want to hunt Titans? Do you have a death wish or something?"

Sarastro was perfectly aware he sounded like a thug, but didn't care enough to stop himself.

Primrose would keep her eyes on him, while she pulled her dagger out of the wood letting his coat fall. Her blade would turn to the teifling, her eyes narrowed. "I don't care who you stole it from, just give me back what's mine," She said firmly, seconds before he pulled her necklace out from his pocket. With a huff, her dagger dropped to her side and she snatched the chain from the teifling's hand. The nerve of some people! Her dagger was sheathed, but her glare remained as she moved her snowy white hair out of the way of the small clasp. "I don't know what type of idiot goes and robs someone and then tries to go and join them, you're mad!" She told him, seconds before Jabari added his words. The same idea basically, the other human as well, and Primrose made sure to move herself so that the teifling fellow couldn't reach her between both Jabari and Sarastro. "Sacred jewelry too, last remaining one from my tribe, the rest were all stolen," she added quietly.

Yossarian's lips curled into a devilish smile, as he relinquished the jewelry. "I could tell. The craftsmanship is shoddy at best, but the jewel is way too pretty to be homemade, let alone to be a fake bought from a vendor. I stole it cuz I knew it would get your attention, you know? An artifact like that is hard to fence, let alone size up flr value. So seeing that one of you had something precious, i took it so you would come to me, rather than me butt in on you. So without further ado, I want in on this titan job." The teifling said, as he used his pointed tail to scoop up his colorful jacket and then plant it in his lap.

"Easy now hot stuff," he said in Jabari's direction, giving a flirtatious wink. In all seriousness, all of these guys were hot as fuck. And it would be a lie to say that Yossarian didn't want a piece of each.
"Don't start brandishing things that you aren't ready to use. And speaking of hot stuff, the reason why you want me in your little party is because I know where the fire sigil is."

"Do I have a death wish? Maybe. Or maybe it's just that I wanna get closer to you, stud." The thief flirted, as he gave a wink to the human knight. "There are really two main reasons why I want in on this. Number one, most usually, people who do heroics like this are usually well compensated for their time, and two, because I am currently hiding from the lord of this villaige. The poor guy walked in on be shacking up with his daughter."

Jabari Asfour
Redvale-Tavern

Jabari's eyes grew wide. The man grabbed him and tossed him to the floor, face down. Using his Grappling Hook's Rope, he tied the man up with his hands down at his sides. "Fire Sigil or not, you're a thief. You're gonna burn everything you stole, then show us where this fire sigil is. Otherwise, I'll be shoving your own fist up your ass instead of mine." Jabari was honestly in a toss up between taking his hand or letting him come with them, so he just compromised with tying the guy up. Telling as to how he was openly flirtatious and sexual towards them, he probably wouldn't care about being tied up anyways.

The red man could still walk, but not use his hands and arms. Jabari would be damned if he allowed that thief the use of his arms and free movement around them. "Refuse to cooperate and I may just take your one handed ass back to the lord of the village."

Jabari threw himself at the devil-man and began to tie him. Sarastro sighed, massaging his nose and closing his eyes. Without opening them, he muttered something that may or may not have been, 'so uncivilized...'

This was such a mess.

Sarastro opened his eyes and looked at Jabari when he was done threatening the thief. "Before we go there, let's buy paper and ink. It might be good to map the terrain and use it to our advantage when planning."

"If you were actually that smart, you would have just come up and asked to join like everyone else had. You're just spouting off so one of us doesn't kill you,"Primrose said from behind Jabari, poking her out from around his side. "You don't turn people you wanna work with into allies by stealing from them!" God, that was annoying, that smarter than everyone else stick he was doing. However, when Jabari broke out the rope, Primrose just stepped away. She didn't exactly want to see where that was going. Instead, she returned to the table, and grabbed her rucksack and bow, and made for the door after paying for her food. She had seen enough of tavern shenanigans for the day.

When she was outside, she wouldn't wander far, just to the bench right there at the door, but before she sat down, she brough her index and pinky finger up to her mouth, and let out a long shrill whistle. Once she stopped, she waited a moment, before she was greeted by a call in return. It came from above her, and then beside her as a white and brown feathered owl landed on her ruckssck. "Hello Maxwell, how was your breakfast?"

Archbishop Alarac
"For if we do not repent, we will be punished by the Demon Messiah! From the out from the depths of hell will come something new-a man that can walk the earth part human and part demon. He will look human enough, and can move about the mortals in plain sight-yet can wield the power of Chaos magic and the has ability to bring in demons right from their home world! This man would come to us should the world prove unfaithful, and I see it as my and your duty to prevent this messiah from coming! The Church is here now my friends, here to bring you salvation and eternal peace! The material plane is great-but your soul lasts forever, and I offer the chance for your soul to be healed!"

Archbishop Alarac was standing in front of a very large crowd, giving his usual first mass to the town. It usually involved scaring the crap out of people, then showing them the Church was their great friend. Two temple boys stood holding banners of the Order of the Stars, and 3 guards stood behind him-plate armor gleaming. He had arrived earlier today, and though he was tired from travel, he wanted to get on with this town. He had no idea where these titan hunters were, but he would try to snuff them out of hiding.

"The Church is seen as a villain. They are seen as a force that bends people to their will, led by the ruthless tyrant that is the Archbishop. But I tell you now that I have traveled hundreds of miles with these 3 alone-not a crusading force! We do not invade and conquer, we offer our help to anyone who needs it." He glanced around the audience, until he found what he was looking for.

"You there!" He pointed at a man with his arm wrapped with a blood stained cloth. "Let me heal your wound!"
The man went up to him slowly, as if he got too close he might burst into flames. Alarac looked him dead in the eye as he came up, and took a step towards him. "By the power of the divines! I heal this man with the power of my Order and my Church!" With a quick spell, he healed the man's arm completely. A look of awe crossed his face, and murmurs of excitement began to come from the crowd.

"You see, the Church has healed you! I offer this as a gift, and I encourage you all to join the true faith! In about 3 hours I will be waiting here to sign people up for eternal peace! Once again, some say we are monsters. They say we are murderers, and conquerors. They say I have knives for hands-but answer me this: How could one with knives for hands heal this man, and heal anyone of any sickness? I will be doing free healing sessions with any who sign with the Church today! Think of it, no longer waiting weeks to recover-you recover now!"

He continued speaking, reading from his Holy tome and winning people over slowly. He was good at this. He was a God after all.

"You all still believe this nonsense? He's a thief and a tiefling to boot. For all you know he's got an entire band ready to jump you. Looks like no race is safe from desperation." Isla was ready to take another swig when she stopped herself. Despite their stupidity that band of thieves idea may net her some serious money. Or even if she didn't approve of magic coming back a sigil and killing a titan would get her a small fortune. Either way it was a win-win for her.

"Well on second thought it may not be a bad idea. If he does have a band of thieves waiting for him we catch them and get paid. And if it's a sigil, we fight a titan and I get paid even more then the band of thieves scenario. Bonus for me if it's both."

Jabari Asfour
Redvale- Tavern ---------> Redvale

"Shut UP, baqarat ghabia!" Jabari barked at the drunk woman still taking verbal shots at them. He really wanted nothing more in life at this moment than to grab that woman's hair and fucking scalp her. He threw Yoss over his shoulder and walked out to see a preacher doing his job over a crowd. From the voice he had and the murmurs from the crowd, this was the Archbishop. Jabari's Water Shaman had a bad experience with the Church and ever since, he warned against the Church and everything they stood for.

The Archbishop had magic though. Magic while everyone else didn't. It seemed weird to Jabari that the man wouldn't use said magic to help take down the Titans. Instead, he went and tried to convert as many people to the Church as possible. It reeked of helplessness on part of the people who actually went with his words. Most of those people HAD magic and then it got sealed. Why go running to the Church when you could get your magic back?

The Archbishop healed up a man. Admittedly, Jabari was happy to see that Magic was still an actual thing, that it was still attainable. It..............it demolished in him that fear that this was all a ruse, a ploy by the Gods to just toy with them and their livelihoods. However, the archbishop did what the Water Shaman warned him he'd do: Try to convert instead of try to help take down the Titans. "Oi! Why won't you just help take down the Titans?!" Jabari called out in a challenge. "We could heal ourselves if we got our magic back!" Jabari strutted with the bondaged man on his shoulder to work the crowd. If he could do it to Sarastro, he could work this crowd on the same logic, right? "Why would you succumb to helplessness? You all had in you the magic to heal these kind of wounds!" The crowd stopped moving to sign their names down. He had a point. Most were there because they no longer had the magic to do the things they could do before, and this man could still do what they no longer could. "Why would you listen to the Church? The Gods took our magic from us. He's working WITH them, right? So why does no one ELSE in the Church have any magic? It's false hope!"

Sarastro Lancerose - Redvale

Sarastro watched for a moment, as the priest lorded his healing abilities over the people, like some sort of god.

It was tempting. To be healed and live. But even if it cost him his life, Sarastro refused to bend to the authority that took his future away from him and become its thrall. Joining them would be no different from admitting he was their slave, to do with as they pleased.

When he saw the people shuffling towards the fake priest, Sarastro scowled and reached for his sword, momentarily taken by an urge to charge at the bishop and cut him into tiny bits.

But then, Sarastro felt the phlegm in his lungs.

Damn it.

He let out a staccato of raspy coughs, feeling bile rise up to the firmament of his throat. He began to swallow saliva to get rid of the bitter aftertaste of vomit down his throat and breathed as much as he could to stop any potential gag reflex.

By the time he was finished, his skin was a shade paler, but he stopped coughing.

Sarastro saw as Jabari made his declaration, and eager to diss the bishop, he stepped forward himself.

"You're a fraud! You come here, lording a gift over us and you dare ask people for something in exchange? You serve false and evil gods, and yourself are a cheat! If you really cared about people, you'd use your gift to kill the Titans and save the people from the oppression of the gods, not goad them into serving the pantheon that abandoned them!"

Archbishop Alarac
It was too easy. People were broken these days without magic or wonders of the ancients. This glimmer of hope was the reason people didn't think twice about joining his Order. For a while, Alarac was actually disappointed that it was this easy. He began to think perhaps these Titan hunters weren't actually here, and that this had been a large waste of his talents. He was even considering packing up and heading out, when his wish was granted. A man called him out in front of the crowd, causing his flow of volunteers to slow. The first one who spoke gave it away completely, he might as well have just stood up and screamed his quest to the world. Still, Alarac loved a challenge, and before he could respond, another opened their mouth to speak, giving him more to work with.

"Something I find fascinating...is how you critics of the church run yourselves in circles. You both speak of the Gods as if they are weak and evil. You talk about how the Gods abandoned you, and how they don't care about the lives of mortals. Are you blind? The Church is the God's way of reaching out to help you! The Church is trying to help all people so that we might all work together as a united front to bring fourth a brighter future! You talk about how the Gods abandoned you, yet it is you who have abandoned them! Anything is lost if you refuse to look for it, as are the Gods. I came here and healed a man for no other reason than because I didn't want to see him in pain. I force nobody into joining the Church, they have their own free will. I come with a message that the Gods are here, and they want to help-and all you can do is talk about how awful the Gods and Church are. You wouldn't know a blessing if it smacked you in your ignorant mouth!"

He waited a few seconds to let that sink in. Talking circles around his opponents was one of his favorite things in the world, and the only thing that could make it better was to do it in front of a crowd.

"The Gods took nothing from you. Once again, I return to my previous point. When help is offered, it is not up to the Gods to shove it down your throat. It is up to the people to stand up and take it. Why do I not fight the Titans? What good would it be if I left on a fruitless quest to chase a fairy tail? If I did that, there would be people here, perhaps sick and injured, that neither I nor the Church could help. Let me ask you this, if I am such a fraud. Where were you when I spent years traveling around healing the sick and injured?" Admittedly, he himself didn't remember it much. He knew he did it, but he himself couldn't explain it. Oh well, it didn't matter. "Where were you when my Order built an entire village to save people from the cold? How am I a fraud when my magic is real and my Church is real? How many others look to the light of the Church besides you and your friend, who try to tear it down?"

He didn't pause for them just yet. "Yes, I am the only one that can use magic in the Church, you have truth to that...but how many of you have magic? The reason I have magic is because I surrendered to the Gods, and they gave me the power nobody else has. At the moment, we have dozens of disciples who train now to receive their blessings of magic. I ask for nothing in exchange for my gifts, and my invitation is extended to everyone! Nobody is above salvation my friends, and nobody is excluded from it. If any want magic, they need only come to the Holy Capital of Thoros, and by surrendering to the will of the divines they might also receive the gift of magic!" He put his hands up. "Here me, good people! The Gods are here NOW! They want to help you, and many people have already accepted their help. It is because of people like them-" he pointed at the two who called him out- "that turn people away from the light. I heal a man, you call me a fraud. My Church defends a town, you call me a monster. How can you sleep at night, knowing you deliberately turn people away from help?"

He stopped now, and looked around. His trickle of sign ups continued, but it wasn't near as fast as it was before. The others on the fence wanted to see who would win this battle of words, and Alarac intended to win.

Sarastro Lancerose - Redvale

This self-righteous... Sarastro's fists clenched tightly, to the point where it hurt. He barely kept his anger contained, and it showed that he was one provocation away from drawing his sword and charging at the priest, whether or not it meant death.

"My grandmother died because Gods abandoned us, I will follow suit in not too long, and my family is right behind me! You can't heal this ailment, not even with healing magic... There are many people suffering out there, in ways you can't fix, but that could be fixed if the Gods hadn't left us without magic! I refuse to bend my knee to such an authority, that plays with people as it pleases and abandons them at the pettiest reason! And you? You're just manipulating these people, using tricks to consolidate power!"

There was ardent zeal in Sarastro's words. He was the anti-bishop of the argument, the foil, his words burning with passion and venom.

"Your Church is the Gods' way of reaching out? Don't bullshit me - they wouldn't have to reach out in the first place if they hadn't abandoned us! We didn't throw them away, I never have! Because of the mistakes of the few, they condemned hundreds of thousands of people to agony; if that's what you call holy, then I'd rather be a demon! Save your rhetorical questions for judgment day, and spare me the lecture on what a great slave organization you're building!"

Sarastro met the priest's gaze with a spark of lightning in his eyes. There was killing intent in his glare - a broken man roused to work, a lying man taken to action, a dying man more expedient than those alive.

If he hadn't been determined to do this before, now he was the most eager to go out and face the Titans, even if it meant certain death.

Sarastro stood up on a nearby barrel and addressed the crowd.

"The Gods already condemned me to certain death, but there's grim satisfaction in dying on my own terms, so I'm going out to kill some Titans! Maybe I'll get myself killed like an idiot, or I'll contribute and get water to flow into barren land." He briefly looked in Jabari's direction, then turned back to the crowd, with a sneer of disdain when his eyes went over the people who approached the bishop previously. "You? You can bend your neck and kiss their boots for mercy. You can be their puppets and mindless servitors, bending yourself over to some meaningless miracle. I'd rather fight for my freedom from their slavery!"

With that, Sarastro approached his group, ignoring whatever reaction the crowd may have had, and he turned to the tiefling.

"You said you know where the Fire Sigil is. If that's true, then I don't know about the rest of the team, but I have no choice - I'd like you to show us where it is."

Mentioned:

Men. Always with the pissing contest. They didn't see it was maybe too convenient that some Church people showed up just as they were setting out? She had heard rumors, whispers, of weird religiuos cults and worship of the titans, and had come from a frantic town. But before they're brains kicked in, and before she could step in, they spoke up. Primrose sighed, joining Jabari and the other human, Maxwell resting on her rucksack. Her eyes went to Sarastro, watching his coughing fit. She would have to talk to him later, but for now, her attention would be on the priest. She never could turn down a debate.

"Oh boo hoo! You religious pigs are all the same!" Primrose laughed, "The gods were the ones who took the magic away in the first place, why in the hell would they want us mere mortals, the ones they cursed in the first place, to spread a message they have the power to do themselves." God she hated religious types, all of 'em. They were all the same, preaching the same shit, just different ways. And not to mention the shit the Church would get up to. "This is just another ploy, yeah? Donations at mass not good enough lately? Forced to prey and weak and terrified instead of doing something useful with the magic you possess and actually try to slay the titans? Wouldn't someone with magic have no issue with that." But this man....he seemed familiar. Someone from a memory, but a memory from a dream. Or a nightmare. And Thoros wasn't far from Larnwick, her home town. She knew what the humans did in those mountains. "Parlor tricks and bread aren't what these people need right now, it's saving. True saving. Hero's work, not the work a holier than thou uppity git."

She stepped forward, infront of the boys. "What these people need isn't grandeur, it isn't a march, or a speech, it's help. Real fucking help. Not parlor tricks and bread for three coppers, or a sign up sheet for disgusted slavery, but medicine, protection, and no false hope. And maybe some people willing to get thwir blades wet, the people willing do what seems like the craziest thing to try and get the world working again. The kind of person you aren't." She turned to follow Sarastro, digging something off a pouch on the side of her ruck sack. She offered it to the human. A small vial an orange liquid, a little warm to the touch. "I'll break up the gunk in your check for a bit, help with the cough. Might make you a little more comfortable."

Jabari Asfour
Redvale-Tavern

Jabari let the 2 speak up, seeing the fire ignited in their own bellies for why they wanted to kill the titans. This entire thing, both the preaching and the healing was pretty see-through. When they were done, he himself spoke up. "The Ancient Gods themselves decreed that the Titan Sigils were on this earth. Why would they lie to us? It would be quite boring to watch us wander about without aim. Much more entertaining to watch us fight giant monsters."

"Oh you built a village? That's nice. What have I been doing these past 5 years?" Jabari strutted up on stage. He essentially stole the man's spotlight and he couldn't retaliate in aggression if he wanted to keep his crowd. Jabari pointed to a timid lady in the crowd. "What have you been doing since the magic seal?"
"Taking care of my chronically ill mother." Chronic illnesses-Something only extremely high level magic couldn't cure.
Jabari pointed to another, a man who looked weathered. "You?"
"My family line has a Curse of Reoccurance. We're dealing with the effects." Curse of Reoccurance- An ancient curse that reappeared every so often even if it was lifted. The Magic Seal wouldn't affect it if it was placed by divinity like an Angel or Demon. Ancient Curses were ONLY placed by those or higher.
"You?"
"I've been having to work as a prostitute since my husband was crippled by a Troll and can no longer work." Extreme body damage/amputations- Took extremely high level healing magic to do, which only Army Knights actually got free of charge. Healing that took about 10 minutes of incantation

Jabari tossed the woman a bag of gold coins. Then he looked out to the crowd. He had to tell them of his own life if Sarastro did. "I live in a barren land. My people live there and we used magic to carve out a life. Since the gods took their magic, my entire village has been suffering from a perpetual drought and hunger." He threw a fierce glare at the Archbishop. "That's what I've been doing these past 5 years."
"None of those people need YOUR magic or YOUR villages. They need their own back. The gods wouldn't have to reach out if they never left in the first place."

Back out to the crowd. "What this man is saying is that the Gods are the solution to the problem they themselves created for us. This Titans endeavor is a test of human will. None of you people have to fight. There are people who are willing to fight in your stead, just like this poor prostitute is having to fight in her husband's stead and I am to fight in my village's stead. What you MUSTN'T do is give up hope and give up your own will to fight." Fight has always meant more than just picking up a blade and swinging, a lesson Jabari himself only learned SINCE the magic seal. He was a hard-headed warrior that always taught his little sister that if someone was bullying them, to kick their ass

Jabari was happy he didn't have to incite a mob against this archbishop. Their battle was one of ideals. Dispersing this crowd was the name of the game. It was a far shot from the days where they could just slash each other and get healed right on up after. He had to bring this crowd on home. "This man may have magic, but he doesn't want you to fight. He wants you seek out the very beings that put you here and grovel before them. It's narcissistic. Well I say you don't grovel. Offer support in any way you can to those who fight in your stead. Offer food, water to the scouts who search for the Titans. For those injured, offer Healthcare if you can. Maybe a few coins to those in need. If you can spare nothing else, give words of encouragement, a cheer when they set off. That morale boost means the world."

At this point, the crowd had completely stopped signing and those that did started striking their names off the signature page. The crowd began murmuring amongst themselves and some left. Then a small cheer began. "Re-bels. Re-bels."
Rebels? Jabari would be almost too quick to say rebels was a bit too much. Maybe they see the Church as a big authority, Jabari thought. Still, it was a far better scenario from them cheering for the Church.
The cheer grew louder. "Rebels. Rebels. Rebels! Rebels!! REBELS!!"

Archbishop Alarac
A spark of anger flickered across Alarac's face. These people began to infuriate him. Little bastard, he could hear the swordsman's coughing while he was talking. Alarac could kill him in a few seconds, all he would have to do was rip out the small amount of life energy that the man had left. What made him even more furious, was when this little man's display of courage started the whole crowd up. His eyes tinted to a crimson red, and he began to draw upon the energy of life to twist it and rip the life from this man. It would be so easy...He almost reached out when...no...

He couldn't do that, not in front of everyone here. He had no doubt he could kill him, but everyone here would mob him...he might get away, but it would be too much of a risk. He released his flow of magic, hoping nobody noticed. They were leaving...time for a parting shot, and then he would follow them. He didn't care much for this disgusting little town, and his whole reason to be here was to find the hunters-getting people to join was just a small bonus.

"You blame your problems on me? You see, my Church takes problems not thrust upon us and solve them voluntarily. We ask for nothing in return, we provide defense and safety. I spent years traveling around helping anyone I could-but no, that's not what you focus on. You focus on the fact that I have magic, and you do not; which makes you jealous, and sinful. I don't see you healing people. The great cities that accept the Church thrive, while the ones who reject us fall. We do not threaten or enslave anyone, and once again, the Gods never abandoned anyone! It was the people who abandoned them! How can you find something if you don't look for it! You would have everyone parade around with magic, causing chaos and destruction? You would see yourself a God before the true ones return? How can you-" The Rebel chant began to get louder, despite his words. He had no doubt that there would still be a few that would join, but thanks to them there would be much less. No matter. Redvale. It would burn, and he would see these Rebels slaughtered and made an example of. He had been lenient. However, he was not yet done.

Before he would try force he would try diplomacy. Perhaps he could lull them into a state of complacency. He turned to the man he now shared a stage with. In a quieter tone, he sighed and said, "Well done then. I see these people seem to follow you. Are you some leader among these people?" His tone was quieter, though he didn't mean it. His eyes still gleamed with hatred towards this man who would dare challenge him. Still, he would try to speak with them. "How many are you then, searching for the Titans? Perhaps if you convince me of your righteousness, I will aid you, as you seem to want."

He would rather die the final death than help them, but at the moment he did want to see who he would be up against here should they not heed the word of the Church.

Isla was slowly starting to Sober up before she realized her shift for scouting was coming up. "Well barman here's an extra couple gold pieces. I'll be sure to come to you to tell any crazy stories like usual." She layed down the two gold pieces giving the man a friendly nod. "I'll be sure to mention the bar to some other scouts!" She shouted back as she walked out.

But as she got out she was greeted by a full on crowd chanting "Rebel". To this sight the elf was confused. "Well first a tiefling thief and now a group of people Rebelling. Ugh the commander will throw a fit when he hears this. I'm just happy he isn't here to see this." She slowly tried to get through the Crowd. For once apologizing for every person she bumped into. And she kept going before she came across the dark skinned man and a bishop.

"Oh my god this whole thing is over some stupid religion! If you all have this sort of energy to do this we could use a lot of new muscle in the scouting corps! Instead of some stupid infighting how about we all focus on the loss of magic and getting it back!" At this point she was past being a dick. She was full on done at the moment. In fact she may ask the commander for a far off assignment. Deadly animals incapable of speech were far more tolerable then any form of people.

Yossarian Valentine
Location: Jabari's Shoulder
Interaction: Kylesar1 Kylesar1

This wasn't the first time he had been tied up by a big attractive guy, but it was the first time he had been taken hostage by said big attractive guy. He wiggled around and tested the strength if the rope. Strong enough to support a great deal of weight, but definitely not unbreakable. Pulling back his hand, a hidden blade stuck out from his sleeve, letting him grab it and hand it off to his tail, which wrapped tightly around it and began to cut through the ropes while the others were distracted by this weird church dude.

As Jabari, the elf lady, and the hot knight yelled at this weird cleric guy, he successfully made it through the main knot. Sliding down off of Jabari's shoulder, Yossarian let the ropes fall off around him, and slipped the dagger back into his sleeve.

"Yeah, go fuck yourself dude. You look stupid too." The teifling said, flipping off the archbishop and sticking out his tongue. He hadn't been listening to what the group was saying, but thought it important to chime in.

Shel followed everyone as a whole crowd gathering around someone preaching about gods or some such. Honestly, Shel wasn't much into religion and gods since her people never believed in such things. Her tribe focused more on their ancestors and traditions then worshiping any gods.

The situation was quickly escalating with her acquaintances arguing against the man who claims to have magic. Shel decided to stay out of the situation as it wasn't something she was knowledgeable in.

Jabari Asfour
Redvale-Tavern

"You're full of shit. You have magic. You probably KNOW where these Sigils" Jabari wasn't dumb. This wasn't some man touched by favor. He saw the anger in his eyes, that subtle desire to end him on the spot. "You may have magic, but you're false. Maybe you're not even completely human."

The crowd gasped at the accusation, then began to get riled up even more. Not in the way Jabari expected. Anger. It didn't help when the woman stepped forward and tried to yell over them. "What the fuck do you think they're talking about, idiot?!" The Prostitute woman yelled in her face. With the bag of coin Jabari gave her, she was firmly on their side, as was some of the people who saw the kind gesture. They swarmed Isla, shoving her around and pushing her out of the hole she made to enter the stage. They were talking about finding magic vs giving up and joining the Church instead. They were certainly angry now, not even enough to process that she was one of those scouts. "REBELS REBELS REBELS!!!!!" They cheered louder. "Servant of another plane, take your church and leave this place!" They had beaten this now disgraced bishop. He would not spread his influence to Redvale

Jabari tried to gain control over the crowd. "We need information regarding the Scouts who went to find these Titans. Any information you can tell us will be greatly appreciated." Some dispersed with a sense of urgency to go gather information, presumably those who knew the scouts either intimately or friendly. Others stayed back and kept cheering against the Archbishop. "Servant of another plane, take your church and leave this place!"

???
???

"Fuck......"

RRRRRRRUUUUUUURRRRRR!!! A horn sounded all over the palace-looking Church. It was gigantic. Maybe she shouldn't have killed 2 guards just to steal this damn sword. The woman held the sword close to her, its sheath about as mocha colored as her skin. It was fortunate, as the sword damn near gleaned in contrast and would give her away. The woman was quick, but security was high. It didn't take long before killing those guards and disposing of their bodies did they find them. So much for hiding them.
"HEY!!"
"Tch!" She was caught as soon as she stepped out of a Janitor's Closet. Unlike the former Archbishop, This new Archbishop didn't seem to hire those of darker complexion, so she stuck out like a sore thumb no matter what disguise she'd try to put on. No matter. They charged at her, swords drawn. They were definitely trained, so taking them on with brute force would be suicide..............so she charged. Immediately she slid under a man, tripping him and stopping in the gap between the 2 men. She laid on the ground for a second until the other swung towards her on the ground, with which she rolled over and kicked his hand, making him lose the blade.
The man on the ground turned to get up when an arrow pierced his forehead, putting him back on the ground for good. The other man grabbed his blade back and swung. She blocked it with the sheath and immediately faltered. This man obviously lifted and it showed. Fortunately, it gave her the opening she needed. She threw her free hand towards him, almost a point with her finger and an arrow came from her sleeve and pierced his skull too, ending him.
4 bodies now........This wasn't ideal. Her objective was to slip in, get the sword, get out. TheFormer Archbishop would reprimand her for this, but whatever. He sent her here, so he wasn't much better than she was.

The woman went into another room where a guard was caught off guard. Throwing her hand towards his leg, an arrow flew out and pierced his kneecap, dropping him. She fired 2 more arrows at the windows then jumped out by smashing it with the sheathed sword. While she got cut a bunch of times by shards of glass, she ran through the pain, holding the sword close to her out and away from the Church. She panted and sweated bullets but it was better than staying and sweating blood instead.

She receded into the woods with the Sword in her arms.

Archbishop Alarac
Location: Redvale -----> Outskirts of the town
He remembered the first time he felt it. The first time, when it was nothing but a tingle in the back of his mind, to the present, where it took over his soul and drove him to action. This rage. Perhaps rage was not enough to describe it though, as it was mo ordinary rage. He had felt it when the Snow Elves refused his demands, when the now dead White Tigers disobeyed his call. Alarac could get angry of course, without feeling this mindshattering rage, but there was a time when this unbelievable rage would takehold, and drive him to do unspeakable things. This rage was deeply rooted in him as he saw the chanting mob.

His eyes flashed a deep crimson, a desire to murder the man who caused him trouble boiled up in him. He reached for magic...but knew from the start he would not use it. Not now. For now, he would retreat to the outskirts of the town, and return in a day or so when reinforcements could arrive. Then, he would cleanse this pathetic town.

"YOU ARE ALL FOOLS! HERETICS, ALL OF YOU! JUDGMENT SHALL BE PASSED ON YOUR SOULS SOON ENOUGH!" He roared, before turning and walking off, his guard following.

"Most blessed one, why the retreat? Kill the nonbeliever now!"

"The best things in life come to can bide their time. Contact Thoros. Bring Inquisitors, rally men from Alexandrite. I want enough people to be able to turn everything here to Ash."

Kylesar1 Kylesar1

Fuck it, she tried. And of course finding info on the scouts. Were these people daft or were they aware they could ask the millitia for where scouts were deployed. Sure it wasn't the most accurate option but all of these people were in a rage. One she could bother with, If she wanted to waste a shot. But the commander would get riled up at a firearm being discharged in town.

Instead of saying anything else she decided to offer the advice to a passerby. "Just between you and me, the Millitia HQ is always an option, they send the scouts and have a rough idea of where they could be. Not fully accurate but in the frenzy you all are in something is better then nothing."

Nothing left to say she now had to blitz it to the scout building. Gods knew she would be helping someone out. And being late, she did not want that. So she ran from the riot that was breaking out. She didn't like these people before and now she had to keep the urge to stab or shoot them at bay. "Stupid magic reliant pigs." She muttered to herself as she kept running.

Jabari Asfour
Redvale

After taking the time to speak to the townspeople, Jabari had the information he needed. The scout was attacked in a field called Water Crow Plains by a herd of buffalo. The assailants used magic so it definitely wasn't human. The scout got a picture of one he thought was notable. It was memorable because it was wearing human armor and the spells it used were weapon summoning spells. According to the scout, the buffalo herd attacked in formation with the leader itself in the back using arrow summoning spells to shoot at him. Other things were calling firebombs from the sky. Yeah......no normal magic-enchanted wild animal except maybe a parrot or similar that could mimic human speech could use spells that centered around man-made items like arrows and bombs.

Water Crow Plains and Red Hills Battlefield
clouds-2993977_1920.jpg
Red Hill Battlefield is a 50x20 mile stretch of a larger plain called Water Crow Plains. It's a place where a massive battle took place, the deadliest battle in the war against one of its neighboring countries, Kuflea (cuff-flay-yah). The battle claimed the lives of more than 35,000 soldiers, 500 Flying Creatures, and 3,000 trained combat animals in the span of approximately 36 Hours. Each end of the 50x20 mile location marked the spot the body of a combatant was found. The name was given due to an overhead view a general got of the plains after it was all over. The blood-soaked hills was visible from high in the sky and was the most notable feature of the battlefield besides the dead bodies themselves. The highest hills typically housed a unit of archers, the mid-sized hills housed crossbowmen to attack from behind a defensive unit. The lands at the base of the hills were where the support mages were kept. It gave them easy access to both the units charging towards the enemy as well as the ranged combatants set up on the hills. The Hill is a massive memorial to every soldier who lost their lives in battle, both from Ishrion and from Kuflea and remains uninhabited out of respect for those who died. The Red Hill Battlefield and the Water Crow Plains it's set in is separated by a 100 foot thick line of permanently charred grass.

This was the place of interest, at least to Jabari. Buffalo using military tactics was weird enough and it took a military trained scout to know the military tactics that they actually used. "This is where we need to check out. Let's see if we can find this Armored Buffalo and the buffalo it commands." In a massive plain, it wouldn't be hard to find. The concern would be just if they attacked on sight and how strong it was. With no magic of their own, they were inherently at a disadvantage.
