Poetry Through my eyes

I'm going to post some of my poetry here. Most of my current poetry is written in Dutch, but my English ones I will post here

My senses are overwhelmed by you
I smell your perfume in my nostrils
See your face above mine
Hear your voice coaxing like velvet
Taste the sweetness on your lips
And every touch sends shivers down my spine
As you slowly destroy me
Until I collapse

My body is a ruin
Of what was once a beautiful palace
In which I was the queen
Yet now the crown I wear
Is adorned with thorns
Drawing blood and aching
And while I try to restore the castle
To its former glory
I feel how you broke it down

My body is untouchable
Since you came along
And planted seeds
That did not bloom
But withered down
Leaving nothing but sharp thorns
That are hurting me
Leaving me raw and bleeding
Praying to once see Ivy growing
Adorned with flowers
Covering up the scars you left

Among blossom I lay
I don’t want to die
Do I?
Confusion overwhelms me
Here under the silvery ivy
I feel disconnected
All is floating
My whole world is trembling
About to fall into chaos
As my doubt about living
Controls my every thought

Embrace me and keep me safe
Under the golden stars
Where hope ignites
And doubts die slowly
Like the withering leaves in autumn
As the howling storm of fear subsides
And leaves a peace
That blossoms like trees in spring

A little house
In which resides my soul
A storm of life
Crumbling walls
All breaks down
And under the rubble
The foundation of my heart
With new pillars I strengthen
The core of what will become me
As a new house is build
Strong and protective
While the storm rages on

Strong arms around me
From two dark haired strangers
Meeting on a lonely road
Where we huddle
Embraced in the warmth of recognition
As child and parents are reunited

And as the sun rose
The poet wrote
Feeling the warmth on her skin
While the early birds were chirping
Chasing away the demons of the night
Revealing the endless possibilities
In the face of safety and hope

Both take their time
They rise and shine
Shedding their light
On the lives of those who believe
In the strenght of togetherness
Giving a sense of warmth and security
Cause nobody is alone
As everyone is connected
Under the same sun and moon
