Band Camp
What do you get when you throw a bunch of angsty, hormonal, dubiously talented teens into an empty university campus for a whole month?
Welcome to the infamous Stanton Band Camp, located in the quaint town of Greenbarrow Texas. Not for the faint of heart, the camp's gotten quite the reputation over the years. Inhumanely long practice times, physically intensive drills, an incessant need for absolute perfection, and a staff who for the most part, aren't above verbal abuse to get the outcome they want. It's not a popular choice by any means-with those who do attend usually falling into one of two categories (a) people who are insanely serious about music and are convinced that trial by fire's the way to go to perfect their craft, or (b) teens with behavioral issues who've been sent there by their parents to learn some good ol fashioned discipline.
But that's not to say there's no silver lining in the whole situation. Band camp from hell aside, for many of these teens it's the longest they've been without any parental supervision, and they intend to make good use of that time. And if they have to sneak around a few cranky old people to do it, then so be it.

the setting
This is a slice of life roleplay that will take place in Stanton University, Greenbarrow Texas. Over the course of the month of July, students will be taking up residency in the now empty campus in order to avail of the notorious camp, well known for it's strict training regimen, taken up only by the truly masochistic. But then again, a whole month away from parents and school is still a golden opportuntiy for any teen. Whether sneaking into the pool, discreet dorm parties, or weekend getaways into the surrounding town-the sky's the limit, so long as you don't get caught. Or do. It's your funeral.
the cast
Given that this program's targeted towards teenagers, the agre range for participants would likely range from 13-18. The infamous nature of this program means that it's likely to attract the attention of students from all types of locales, personalities, and backgrounds. Creativity is absolutely welcome and encouraged here!
And it's not just the students you can make. After all, where would a camp be without the dutiful employees holding it all together? Whether an anxious first timer, a kindly lunch lady, or a seasoned instructor with a horrible reputation, all are welcome to come aboard and traumatize them kids!
