Late last night, to the dismay of our community and our members who witnessed the event, a Minecraft gaming community by the name of Evercraft (about twenty of them) found our TeamSpeak Server and decided to move into our channels and proceed to use Wayward Inn’s Private TeamSpeak for their community without the permission of the staff. After harassing our own members and our TeamSpeak guests, the staff asked them please excuse themselves from our site’s private server. They refused to leave and, shortly after, proceeded to abuse the TeamSpeak system by clicking on our members and spamming the “make a compliant” option which caused the system to start automatically banning our members. Shortly after this began we proceeded to remove Evercraft from the TeamSpeak and not long later, we were attacked by a DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) server attack, causing the entire site to crash and TeamSpeak to go offline. This continued to the point where our service provider stepped in and nullified our IP for our server because the attack was powerful enough to effect other customers on their network.
We were told that the site would be down for twenty-four hours but through elaborate server wizardry by our Server Administrator Ghan, we managed to allow the site to retain connections to an extent. We highly apologize to all users who are still getting blocked out and are seeing a broken site due to this workaround. Once our IP is released to us again tonight the site and teamspeak will be fully functional again.
However because of the nature of this attack certain security changes will be coming to the TeamSpeak Server. The biggest one, and the one we will be discussing with you, is a change in the Guest system for our TeamSpeak server. To allow our own members to invite friends to the server, there are now two guest ranks. To read more on this, open the spoiler below:
Again thanks for your cooperation and we would like to apologize for the downtime/speed problems the site is currently having. Once everything is back to normal we will make another announcement.
Thank you for your patience,
The Wayward Inn, Administration

Invited Guests, which are designated by a red star, are guests that have been promoted by a staff member for the purpose of visiting our server for multiple uses. Red Star members can access the Lounge (General Discussion), and the game rooms. Similar to the old Guest rank, they can not access the RP channels designated for Inn Members. Invited Guests also lack the ability to create temporary channels.
Restricted Guests, are the other type of guests, these users are restricted to the lobby where they have no voice privileges. If one of your friends is joining the channel and you wish to give them Invited Guest status, please poke a Moderator or Administrator online, who will promote them when prompted. Restricted Guests who are not spoken for by another member or not a part of the site will be removed by the system after a designated time has passed.
These changes are in the hope that we can keep our servers open to our community and open to their friends and honorary guests.
