" _Mommy, Daddy! I want this story! This one!_ "

In a small towns bookshop a young seven year old girl with short jet black raven hair and dark almost black brown eyes stared starstruck at the picture book held in her hands pale hands. The book was a cute story about an obese yellow bear that was trying to teach the entire woods about the importance of his obsession with food, specifically honey. The name of this secretly haunted story? Winnie The Pooh. Despite the strange honesty of the story the little girl was drawn to it's bright whimsical colors and so was blinded, unable to see the sad tale beneath the happy venue. The young girl ran to her mother, a tall beautiful woman with light chocolate colored hair and deep emerald green eyes that everyone always commented on saying that they could freeze a race car in it's tracks with just one glance. As soon as the little girl was at her mothers side she reached up with her short arms about to grasp her mothers pale pink flower printed shirt when her hands were smacked down.

" _And just what do you think you were about to touch? You didn't actually think you were going to lay your stubby germy fingers on my brand new designer shirt did you? And just what is this?_ "

Her mother grabbed the picture book out of her daughters hands roughly takings look through it quickly rolling her perfectly shaped eyes as her thin, manicured, pink painted finger nailed fingers turned the pages in boredom. She looked in disappointment at her daughter, the gaze wavering slightly between disappointment and disgust she leaned down slowly until she was at the height of her young child who was used to this treatment and stared in blankness back into the depths of her mother's eyes. The mother stared straight back as if waiting for the girl to crack her gaze away and run away, however she didn't she just looked stiffly at her. The mother glared harshly until finally the younger girl started to tear up about to cry, the mother smirked and grabbed her daughters face.

" _Honestly Elizabeth, half the time I doubt you're my own daughter, those dark eerie eyes are soulless that burnt short choppy hair is dead and gone so quit your stupid crying over a story book. You have bigger problems that deserve your tears._ "

Once home, Elizabeth raced her way to her bedroom on the second floor of her house storybook in hand thanks to her father who bought the book quickly to reduce the conflict that was forming in public. Her mother had no repercussions of course on the way home she threw a fit about not having any new scarves for the winter season and so the father stopped the car at a near by boutique as Elizabeth and her father waited in silence til she returned in a much happier mood many bags in hand. Elizabeth didn't wish to think about the day and instead retired to her bedroom where nothing was real, at least that was what she had determined her bedroom wall was lined with mythical fantasy tales that she loved. Each of them of a different meaning and topic, each of them filled with endless, bright, and whimsical colors Elizabeth smiled at her wall of make-believe holding her new addition to her chest possessively. As she walked silently but hastily to her bed to indulge in her new story, however she was caught off guard when she saw sitting idly on her nightstand was a book, curious she placed Winnie The Pooh on the bed and picked up the book carefully. It was thicker than her other stories and there didn't seem to be any pictures, even knowing that though Elizabeth felt the need to read it, it drew her closer than any other storybook she owned had ever done. The name of this consuming story? Alice In Wonderland.

Six years later Elizabeth was just as haunted with Alice In Wonderland as Pooh was honey, instead of her room filled with various varieties of fantasy stories they were lined with any and all Alice In Wonderland merchandise. Posters of the strange story hung happily against her walls and as always sat the book that started it all, Elizabeth never left home without it to her it was the most amazing creation there ever was. It was winter again, a harsh one at that snow stuck to the ground as if it was super glued and Elizabeth sat alone in her room listening to her mother and father as they argued. The fight wasn't anything of importance, her mom wanted the fireplace lit because it was freezing her father said no due to the fact that the fireplace was extremely old and wasn't very trust worthy, he said it could catch the entire house on fire. Elizabeth held her stuffed white rabbit named Time closely, he was a gift from her father given to her ninth birthday, she fell in love with Time seeing him as the white rabbit from Alice In Wonderland therefore he was very precious to her. Elizabeth knew her father was right, the fireplace was quite old and it was dangerous to light it.

That very night her mother while her husband was asleep slipped downstairs and lit the fireplace quickly, it flickered small embers landing on the ground popping off the wood however she simply walked back upstairs satisfied with the heat radiating from the fire she went to bed. It didn't take long for the fire to spread after that, the entire lower half of the house was in no time consumed in flames, Elizabeth awoke to the sound of screaming and the smell of smoke. In the corner of her eyes she could swear she saw a black and white tail flickering before it disappeared in the thick smoke, she coughed climbing out of bed, grabbing her book and Time before rushing out of her room. The scene before her was horrifying to anyone, she looked in devastation as wood and flames burned high and on the ground right in front of her door was her own father, his dark kind brown eyes were scorched with fear as laid still, a wooden board still on fire stuck out of his chest awkwardly.

A high pitch scream echoed through the home ripping Elizabeth back away from her father and to the burning staircase though it didn't seem the most appealing choice she had to go, dead people couldn't read. So Elizabeth took a risky step forward before breaking into a run flames nipped harshly at her skin burning her as she coughed continuously, leaning on the railing for support. Suddenly a hand grabbed her arm, a perfectly manicured pink finger nail colored hand, her mother gripped her hand harshly holding tight enough for bruises to form.

" _If you think..y..you'll... Get...a..away.. You've got an..anot-_ "

A large spike of wood came crashing down into her mothers face, the wood forced her to let go and blood spattered onto Elizabeth, then immediately after policemen and firefighters rushed in they screamed for survivors spraying down the flames. Elizabeth ran down the stairs forgetting the scene before her and running to the firefighters in urgency, they grabbed her quickly lifting her to the police and getting her out the house away from the smoke. Immediately Elizabeth was questioned about the fire, what she thought caused it, if someone could have caused it, if someone did cause it who she thought it would be. However, Elizabeth's attention was to her burning home, it was starting to fall apart the windows had broke minutes ago from the wood breaking them, soon the police realized they couldn't get anything from her and went to investigate somewhere else. Time sat in Elizabeth's lap and Elizabeth held her book close possessive of one of the two items she managed to save she rubbed the toy rabbit softly feeling his smooth fur in between her fingers. Time seemed captivated in the view of the burning home as well and so the two of them watched the destruction together

It had been two years since the fire, Elizabeth was now thirteen and had counted each day by drawing sticks on her red walls with purple her marker, she was moved to her Aunt's home which was significantly smaller than what Elizabeth was used to but she didn't speak about it, in fact she didn't speak much unless she was reading Alice In Wonderland or talking to Time. Her Aunt hated Time, when Elizabeth first moved in her Aunt had said that the rabbit had to leave, its blue button eye's were 'soulless' in the aunts words. Elizabeth combated with the argument of once Time left she would leave too, since her aunt did somewhat care for Elizabeth she allowed the rabbit to stay under the rules that he would be with Elizabeth and never near her. Elizabeth agreed, never intending to leave Time alone anyway, Time was her white rabbit and she wasn't going to loose him, ever.

" _911, What's your emergency?_ "

" _Uh, Yes hello? I think there's something wrong with the house next door to me_"

" _Wrong? What's wrong there ma'am?_ "

" _It's just been eerie there for awhile now..I was nervous because I used to hangout over there sometimes but when I knocked on the door there was no answer. The woman who lives there, Julia, she's taking care of her niece and I'm just very worried and would like someone to check it out_"

" _Alright ma'am just wait there for a moment and the authorities will be there shortly_ "

An hour later a police car arrived at the home riding slowly across the rough concrete driveway. The man soon came out the car and looked over the house carefully, he didn't look all too worried about the house and simply sighed before going to the green painted front door and knocking.

" _Hello? Nevada Police Department, I'm here investigating your home here. We got a call of suspension._ "

There was nothing, just an empty silence that echoed throughout the neighborhood only interrupted by the birds that calling out to each other. The cop took out his walkie talkie speaking into it and requesting back up because he was about to attempt to go inside the house. Slowly reaching out to the golden doorknob he placed his back hand on the handle of his gun, he could tell something was definitely wrong here something was off.

" _I'm entering your house_ "

Once he opened to door and looked at the scene before him, the wretched irony stench of blood filled the house also in the mix was the small of decaying human and mold, riddled all over the ground was stuffing from Elizabeth's own beloved rabbit. But that wasn't what shocked him most, no what was the most terrifying picture in front of him was something that he was sure would haunt him for the rest of his life. There sitting at the end of the hallway sat Elizabeth, she was covered in blood and the entire ground where she sat was covered in it too Elizabeth was unmoved by the policemen and continued sitting in the hallway looking down at the book in her lap. She held an amused smile on her lips as she giggled lightly, turning the pages with her clean fingers.

*_I've lost myself in make-believe_*

Elizabeth was locked in solitary confinement for months, the police couldn't put her in jail because for some reason the only proof was her covered in the blood, there was none of her own blood, no violent fingerprints, nothing to suggest the Elizabeth was the murderer. This annoyed and stopped everyone on the case, it didn't help that Elizabeth continuously read Alice In Wonderland as if she didn't hear the officers at all. After the book was taken Elizabeth started singing to herself, still not answering questions and simply staring at a wall in what seemed like ignorant bliss. She sang her song happily and lightly as of it was a nursery rhythm rather than a song of delusion, perhaps the happy tune blinded her as the bright colors had done so many years ago. Or perhaps Elizabeth was insane, it was what many had remarked to her face and to her back either way it was your call to make. You had to been hired as a specialist to check Elizabeth's sanity and accountability to the murder, both to her parents and her aunt. You, yourself were very interested in this case and had researched deeply into it aiming to gain as much information as possible your own goal being to save this girl from the brink of insanity or try to understand what she might have a hard time saying. You didn't get called into cases often, only for serious situations so for them to call you meant that they were truly stumped, the police loathed asking for outside help.

Today was the day that you were to meet Elizabeth and you were to evaluate her, you couldn't hide your excitement as cases that were mind boggling like this were hard to come by. You navigated your way through the investigation building, walking into the solitary confinement center and reaching your hand to room 1923 and creaking it open so you could see her, enough light came through that she could see you as well. Elizabeth was singing lightly and she continued when you came in, she smiled looking at you her voice stopping the melody as she looked at you before opening her small mouth back up again to speak.

" _Oh Hatter, you've finally made it._ "

The coffee Benjamin Heart had drunk the night before had started to wear off, his eyebrow rising at her statement, “Hatter? Who is Hatter 'Alice'?” which 'Alice' was not her name, actually being 'Elizabeth', but the only name she would respond to was 'Alice' anyways. A case he had picked up a while ago, now being able to check on Elizabeth, he was able to get a lot of research on this case, though. It was peculiar, a child had been involved with 3 cases of murder.

Her father.
Then her Mother.
Finally, her Aunt.

Looking over her smile it was nice, but reading a little harder, he could see a slight madness to them. He smiled just as he practiced in the mirror over and over because if there is one thing he could try to do was help her.

Right?
==============
I'm not sure if this was right? If there are any inconsistencies please tell me... I'm not the best at writing.

Elizabeth felt, oh what was word? Spontaneous? Extemporaneous? No..none of those seemed right, her emotion can't be described with a single word so as Elizabeth would say she felt like a person; meaning she was feeling numerous emotions at once and any person would after seeing someone they've been eager to meet their whole life. He, Benjamin Heart was the Mad Hatter and Elizabeth knew it, even if he himself didn't because the Cheshire Cat had explained it, and he had never lied to her before so why would he start now? Plus Elizabeth could feel it, as soon as Ben walked through her door he reeked of madness and that was what caused the smile on her face. As she crossed her legs on her white sheet bed Elizabeth rolled her coffee brown eyes to the dull grey ceiling as she carefully tossed her body back to the bed.

"You're the Hatter, the Mad Hatter to be exact.. I wish you'd realize already."

Mad Hatter... There was that one story he had read a long time ago... What was it? For the life of him, Benjamin Heart could not remember.
"Realize what?"
Racking his brain for clues on how this would help the case, not matching anything except...

"Alice in Wonderland..."

That was the book. Something about a girl who had fallen into a hole, then wandered a fantasy land? It was so... Distant, he could remember slightly, but he was failing to grasp it. There was also the fact that she seemed much more responsive than the files showed... Was it because of he calle- no that wouldn't make sense...

Taking a deep breath he looked at her, "What do you mean 'You've finally made it'?" Stopping himself he clenched his fist, it could have been a bluff, but why? why would she want, or need to do that? Not enough evidence to conclude anything the detective waited in silence, hopefully, able to get a story that wasn't on the file.

Elizabeth hummed slightly as Ben tried to piece together her words, her legs swung wistfully while he thought of what she could possibly mean but the Mad Hatter was smart, that much she knew and almost like a light bulb switches on he recalled the tale.

"I love that story, our story, everyone's story!"

Pushing her body up from the mattress she looked at him with longing, as if he could also share the feeling of not being at home with her, here she just felt so out of the place, this grey room got cold and the nurses refused to let her climb on the walls. Each doctor didn't play pretend and every time a cop showed up he didn't want to play cops and robbers, Elizabeth could understand though, after all she wasn't entirely so open when she realized that she was Alice. That face of longing then suddenly turned to a face of interest, her eyes lowered to Benjamin's clenched fists then back to the soon to be Hatters eyes with a smile on small smile on her face as if she was confused but happy.

"Hatter.. Are you angry at me? You shouldn't be as my father would say, 'there's no use in being a grouchy goose!' it's better to smile, like this"

She stretched her cheeks out really wide, her smile much bigger than before.

Frowning slightly, he ran Elizabeth's words through his mouth, 'Our story, Everyone's story?' what did that mean? was there... more?

Looking at her confused smile, Ben unclenched his fist as he lets out a breath, "Not angry just.... Confused" putting his feelings in the right words was much more difficult than it should have been. Benjamin thought about it; he should try to coax her into giving her side of what happened, "Alright Alice, Is there anything you... want to tell me?" a small smile on his face, as her smile widened.

Her black haired head tilted slightly at Benjamin as he spoke, how he unclenched his fist and released his breath almost like he was upset even though he claimed that he wasn't; Elizabeth bit her lip in dismay as she, for obvious reasons from previous circumstances doesn't at all enjoy conflict so turned her eyes back to the ceiling. However, as soon as Benjamin called her Alice again she returned to a happier mood placing her tan hands on her black shoes that lacked their shoe laces, that was the thing about mental hospitals they didn't allow shoe laces so they took hers away for fear she would hurt herself or others.

"Tell you? Hmm..Well no, ask you? Obviously! When are you going to take me to your house Hatter? I don't want to stay here, the walls are so grey and dull and fun is like the Queen of Hearts love of white roses. So tell me what's our plan of escape?

"My house? Well, it probably as dull this place is." Which was true as Ben lived in a dingy apartment, most of his money going towards his agency. He recalled something strange(Well... Stranger.) that Elizabeth had said, "What did you mean, 'You've finally made it.' did one of the nurses tell you?" It was strange, as they could have told her, but the mental hospital here in Nevada wasn't known to be the best of them. Of course, this could have been a useless conjecture, as he had nothing to talk about and....

He felt he shou- can't waste time.

Though getting permission from the hospital to try and get her out more sounded like an idea he could humor. Looking up towards the clock on the wall of the hall, he saw he had about 8 minutes left. The thought passed his mind as he made a mental note to check on his children books, that for some reason he kept.

"The nurses Hatter? They aren't going to tell me anything because they lack my sanity, they haven't seen what we have seen."

Elizabeth rolled her head back slightly as if she was thinking of the right words to come up with, she wanted something that was fun to say, unique and well just more.. more. Yes, the conversation definitely needed more moreness, if it didn't Elizabeth feared that Benjamin would leave her there, in the monotonous room without so much as a cheery tune to keep her entertained. Quickly she shut her eyes tight, concentrating deeply on the next words that she would use to explain her past remark, she thought that it was self explanatory but as she constantly had to remember; Benjamin wasn't aware of his Mad Hatter self yet, she'd have to spell it out for him.

"I knew that you would come Hatter, I had an inkling but Katze confirmed it.. He's everywhere you know."

'Jesus Christ why was it me...' It was quite ridiculous really, 'They haven't seen what we have seen' what the hell does that mean? However she said something deeply unsettling to Ben, 'Katze confirmed it' his detective instincts are screaming at him at the pure irrationality of it; after all, she was in a mental hospital.

It was just a small part of him wanting to take her seriously.

Ben scratched his chin in thought, before looking up at the clock again wanting to see whether or not anyone suspicious visited her.

"Listen, I'll see if they can get some music playing, or a book you can read" Ben sighed in resignation internally before speaking, "... I need some time to digest it all, me being the Mad Hatter and all." He said before starting to close the door, without noticing the unnerving smile he had on his face.

(OOC- I'm so sorry... XD. I forgot about this...)

Elizabeth peeked through her eyelids after she had spoke of Katze, she didn't quite know him that well either but she knew that he liked surprises, the fact that she just introduced him early without him being around might make him upset. 'He'll understand though!' Elizabeth thought to herself 'he has to understand, the Hatter he.. He's the only one who can get me out!' Her mind ached for her to continue on, her eyes gazed over at Benjamin as they opened wider, and her mouth pursed to a slight pucker, Ben was leaving?

Her brain sprung into a panic as she lifted herself from the bed, her hands reached out a bit to him but still close enough for her to tug it away. Those same indecisive limbs shook ever so slightly from her irrational fear, if he left then she would stare at these dull walls again, she would talk to herself in maddening silence till a sharp pound on the door from the guards signaled for her to shut up even though she wouldn't, her own instability would swallow her if she did.

"No! Don't leave me with the walls Hatter! The walls, the walls will stare at me in silence, I can't stay in these walls.. You have to know what it's like to be stuck somewhere Hatter, where were you before you were here? Take me there!"

===============

That's fine really, I was out anyway so you're not at fault at all

'Oh god dammit... Not the begging!' Benjamin hated begging; as in he can't help but try to help the one begging. Looking over to Elizabeth her frail limbs shaking - the fear of it...
Fearing the dark, dark loc- Shaking the memories from his head he tried to form a plan.

Because the memories wouldn't stop if he couldn't.

He furrowed his brow and sighs deeply before trying to soothe Elizabeth, "I'll see if I can get the doctors to allow you a day out..." Hopefully, he would be able to persuade the hospital guys to let her out for a day, maybe using the reasoning she might do something drastic? She seemed a bit obsessive in her tone and desperate as she held out her hand. Pity... was not something Ben felt on a daily basis, but for some reason, he knew he'd be feeling a lot of that in the coming future. He reached out and squeezed her hand reassuringly, "I'll be back soon..." He resigns himself, "I pinkie promise." Ben says while holding out his pinkie.

Perhaps she was overdoing it a bit, her fear of the still silence enabling her to make good decisions on her own, was that it? That had to be it, so why did it seem like she knew what she was doing even though she didn't, as if this had all already been planned. Elizabeths haunted brown eyes evaluated the look that her Hatter was giving her, for a moment there looked like a spark of pain in his face, uncertainty, dismay, it looked well.. eerie..and Elizabeth felt attached to it, she pried on it with her begging eyes, and it worked.

Somewhat.

You see, she expected a sort of domino effect, a chain of reaction, for him to show an impulsive action. 'He's the Mad Hatter' she rationalized 'he's supposed to be impulsive and self reliant right? Or perhaps that's too predictable left? There's no way the doctors will let her leave, they thought she was mad..as did the police officers who would also disapprove of her departure.' The situation escalated in her mind, her shaking seemed to intensify with each anxious thought that waltzed itself into her brain, the foreign feeling of flesh on her own made her jump as she locked eyes with the detective.

"Never break a promise"

Her pinkie extended as well as she linked it with Ben's.

Smiling he gets up and slowly closes the door keeping a tight leash on his memories; so he doesn't just carry her out. He sighs bitterly before looking over to the stand-by doctor and asking, "Is there anything she could sign to get out of here for a day or so? I believe it will help with her stress..." He relies on his social skills to try help her, if not he could try persuading them with more pressing concerns.

Should I add in the NPC talk or will you do it? GiantSugarCake GiantSugarCake

Elizabeth allows a small smile to spread itself on her face as her sight catches his own, her throat swallows a gulp as the door shuts, the ever strong thunk of noise repeating itself through her ears continuously. When did she end up on the floor? Her knees hurt, did she fall on them? That thunking sound was starting to fade from her head, it began to be drowned out by the thoughts that flooded through her without mercy, her head slightly turned up to the ceiling, the pale white color was draining. Like someone was pulling out her soul, yes, that's what it was doing, the ceiling was stealing her soul, and there was nothing she could do about it. A soft laugh escaped her mouth before she allowed her body to fall flat on the harsh cold ground, of course it hurt but Elizabeth didn't particularly care, her Hatter was coming, and if Hatter was coming, the Cheshire cat was coming, along with the White Rabbit, all of her friends would be there to see her.

Another swallow sunk down her throat.

================
Hmm.. You do the NPC talk for the doctors and officers at least because this part is entirely up to you, whether or not Elizabeth actually gets out.

The doctor nodded hesitantly, "Yes we do sir... but do you thi-" He stares at the doctor for a second before speaking, "Honestly, no I don't... But I'm willing to believe that she might do something drastic if she doesn't get some fresh air" he spoke much more harshly than he meant to. The doctor stared him in the eye for a moment before nodding in resignation, "Here are the forums sir" he passes the papers to the detective, his eyes already scanning the waivers. Taking out a pen he sits in a nearby waiting chair writing up most of the paper leaving the spaces where Elizabeth signs.

He hesitates slightly writing his signature, before crushing the doubt, 'There's no negative of doing this, I might even be able to draw out this 'Katze' person... Of course, if he is actually real' he reasoned to himself with the flawed logic. Getting up several minutes later he opens the door to Elizabeth's room, "Alice? Can you sign here - We can get you out for today like you wanted". Hopefully, she doesn't ask him for this again anytime soon.

As Elizabeth counted each breath she took, she also began to estimate the amount of blinks she made while her Hatter had gone, each passing moment was like a painted rabbit, it's white soft fur now stained with a thick liquid that formed the shape of a number that rose with each hop, like a timer or a clock. This type of numbering helped keep Elizabeth stay competent, she feared the silence would numb her so she numbered it, that same patience though was wearing thin, her dark brown eyes that stayed wide observed the ceiling.

Slowly, Elizabeth could feel her right hand raising from the cold ground, its pale complexion making its way into her line of sight though something seemed.. off.. her vision was blinking though her number didn't much higher, it was as if her eyes caused flashes yet each time it happened she saw blood on her hand. Something about the bright red coloring seemingly splashing against her own deathlike skin held up in front of the dim ceiling made her think of the night that she lost her father, the night where she saw her dead mother, slowly her head tilted in interest.

For a while Elizabeth stayed like that, mesmerized by the hallucination of her mothers blood on her skin, there wasn't much to think about as she stared she didn't even noticed the tears running down her face, only that the color comparison was aesthetic to the eye. The sound of the door opening made her jump up though, excitement laced upon her tear stained face as she stared happily at her Hatter.

"Hatter! You actually did it! You must be very clever to get my freedom so easily."

Ben stood there frozen for a second taking in the tear-stained face before running into the room and kneeling to her level.
"Are you alright? Did something happen?" he asked in succession before noticing what he was doing and stood back up. Putting a hand to his head
Drip - Drop
he
Drip - Drop

it. Ben felt weird for a second but it quickly dissipated. He looked back to Elizabeth's tear stained face a smile on her features.

Once she saw Ben she was confused at the lack of movement that he showed, as if he was made of stone but nevertheless her smile stayed strong till he ran to her, their eyes meeting at an even level despite their clear height difference, Elizabeths brain took a few moments to identify all that had happened as she once again tilted her head. He seemed worried for her, why? What was causing him such grief? Elizabeth didn't understand till she felt another tear run down, her mouth opened a bit in what felt like shock, her fingers swiped away at the tear drops till they were no more, all she could feel now was phantom tears that seemed to have a mind of their own, no matter how much she swiped at them they wouldn't leave her. 'Strange' she thought as a chuckle escaped her mouth and her wet eyes sparkled at the detective, they were both so strange, so unordinary, utterly peculiar, absolutely mad.

"I'm just fine Hatter, no need to worry.. now where do I sign?

He frowns deeply before sitting next to her and taking out a handkerchief (Birthday present) wiping at her face drying her tears. After they stop he passes her the clipboard with the waivers on it, pointing out what she needed to sign. He thought that their might not have been trauma, but why was he so stupid! Of course, she would have some kind of damn trauma... Ben berated himself the stupidity that he had been showing all throughout discussing things with her.

The feeling of cloth touching her skin made her let out a small whine, she didn't like it but stayed still throughout the cleaning noticing the change in the Hatters presence, it seemed colder and it wasn't very pleasant. Elizabeth kept her eyes on him as he put his handkerchief away and passed her the clipboard, tucking her dim lips together she breathed out a small hum while leaning back, her fingers pealing back the different waivers as she scanned them contently, her black shoes foot tapping a bit.

"Hatter? Do you have a pen?"

Her other hand took the opportunity to give the distracted detective a slight poke in the shoulder, it was playful because that was what she felt would be appropriate for a moment like this.

"If a Hatter is upset, an Alice cannot function"

He passed Elizabeth the pen after she reminded him, smiling as she poked at him, "I'm fine, you just gave me a shock is all".
Her smile reassuring Ben he places his handkerchief back into his pocket, helping to point out what she needed to sign. So she could finally get out into the sun again, she had been in there for a while after all.

Elizabeth felt a bit more joyful as she saw Bens' smile return to face, a Hatter without a smile? It was like a Cheshire Cat without an Alice, or a Tweedle dee without a Tweedle dumb, a White Rabbit without a clock, it simply couldn't be, his words though they confused her as she twisted her body as she now positioned herself on all fours, pen in hand.

"I shocked you Hatter? I apologize for that though.. I'm not sure how I did it..after all you're the most shocking one here"

Her shoulder rolled as she shrugged with her legs kicking up and down behind her, the pen scribbled itself on the paper reading, Elizabeth J. Heathers.

"Why am I the most shocking one?" Ben asked while taking the papers. Was it because he was a detective? Oh, he could feel his ego growing by the second! He ushered the guard over to the door passing him the papers before coming back to Elizabeth.
