The Yozis

Hi. New poster. Obviously. MOVING ON:

I'm trying to keep the history and facts of the Yozis straight and no matter how many times I read CoCD Malfeas, I remain confused. Is there a diagram or losing of the primordials and their component souls? Sometimes it's mentioned, other times it's not. And perhaps what the souls/yozis other titles are? Those writers bounce back and forth between the basic names and titles.

Has anyone any idea if the Neverborn are specifically named? I lack underworld knowledge.

Lastly: what is a fetich soul, definng soul, etc ??

Thanks for any help!

I recently did a little look up of this myself, it is a bit unclear. The relationship between Thirds Circles and their souls is pretty clear, though. Each Third Circle has seven component souls, the Warden, Indulgent, Defining, Messenger, Expressive, Reflective and Wisdom souls; these respectively protect, gratify, define, communicate, express, reflect and understand their progenitor's nature (this can be a bit metaphorical, however; Ligier's "message" is apparently "I will kill you dead, also I am so in love with this one dude you guys, seriously").

Every third and second circle demon has one basic name, one "official" title, both interchangeable, and perhaps a few nicknames. First circle demons are called "progeny of" their second circle creator, using their title rather than their name. Third Circle souls seem to be undefined in relation to their Yozi: they are simply know as the "seventh soul" or "twelfth soul" or whatever, and the number various between primordials. Similarly, the amount of first circles related to a second circle creator isn't set, since presumably they're just made whenever for whatever purpose is at hand.

Most primordials only have a handful of their souls described, which gives enough information to be useful and leaves things in the air enough that STs can make stuff up.

A defining soul is a kind of second circle soul, as mentioned previously. A fetich soul is a third circle soul who represents a Yozis core self, their identity or their brain or heart or... it's not really clear. But killing a fetich will force their primordial to change into something else.

Some of the Neverborn have names, but they don't do much of anything but be dead and crazy and horrifying. They're all pretty interchangeable.

Well that kinda clears up the component souls and how they are related to the Yozis themselves. Very awesome.

Guess I'll have to re-read and hopefully keep straight who Sondok is to which Yozi, who Adorjan is, etc. It's all very complicated.... But I so love it.

The other wiki has invested quite a bit of effort in filling out the "family tree" of the Yozis.

Not so much on the Neverborn, but at least it lists page references.

Common to both is the Primordials page, which is fairly bad as far as links go. Maybe I'll fix that by the time you read this. Or, maybe I'll just go eat.
