The world of Leidren [pathfinder]

Welcome to the world of Leidren, a land of dying magic and broken vows. Once, hundreds of years ago, there was a war that threatened this land. A deity raged against others of its kind, tearing apart the Kras Mountains to the north.

This entity, known as Neibros, created many monsters and atrocities in his attempts to kill his fellow gods. The Kras Mountains became a horrid waste, where few if any would venture. Dragons and Drell, Ungiltan and Wraiths prowled ever farther from the fortress upon which Neibros had made his creatures of despair.

In an effort to defend the world, water was drawn from the wells of fate by a certain Aisheri in secret. Seven mortals were granted power beyond that of normal mages, at a terrible cost. But mankind was allowed to keep their gift as it was freely given.
The enemy was driven back, and put into a deep sleep. Mankind soon forgot the danger lurking in the dark.

It's been many generations since the Great War. The Kingdom has flourished under its King, and peace has all but erased the need for powerful magics. Magic is all but forgotten except a few trinkets and mages left over from the War. The Seven have vanished, leaving their strongholds unguarded for any adventurer to seek.

[Do let me know if this sounds appealing, as I'm hoping to create a discord server for a proper roleplay. The main quest will be to defeat a rising evil, that vanished for centuries. Other, smaller quests could be essential for its defeat... or a diversion as the evil grows stronger]

On the other hand I'm going to be keeping the rp here for now, until I'm sure it has enough interest 😉

A few questions:
1. To be clear the IC component of the roleplay would be here on RPN or would it be on discord? Or would it start by being on RPN and then move on to discord?
2. Are we talking about Pathfinder 1e or 2e here?
3. What are your rules/expectations regarding posts? Any length or frequency requirements?
4. I'm a little confused regarding your intended approach to the setting's magic. Your description seems to suggest magic would practically be rare at best and potentially largely absent, but on the other hand you literally tagged this roleplay magic. On that note, assuming that the former is more accurate to your vision, will this imply restrictions on what player's can choose in terms of character creation, such as classes, archetypes, races etc....?
5. How comfortable would you be having a player who's new to pathfinder in your game? (note: No hard feelings even if you're not of course, it's quite understandable especially for a system with pathfinder's reputation)

The Rp will start here on RPN,and only move to discord if enough players want to join.
We'll be using pathfinder 2e
I have no rules over post length, but a frequency of a couple times a week would be awesome.

As to magic; very few people in the setting understand it anymore. While I'm not limiting character classes, choosing certain classes will make your character disliked by the general public. Some villages may even be hostile towards the party due to the presence of a Warlock or other magic wielder.
The same goes with races, such as Drow, orcs, gnomes.

I'm fine running a game with newer players as well

Thank you for your answers! Unfortunately as I'm not really interested in a discord IC and I'm a little iffy on that kind of position in terms of the magic (not a dealbreaker but does compound on the other issue) I think I'll be passing this time after all. Nonetheless, best of luck with your search!

Hi, I've played Pathfinder before (with a lot of overseeing because I don't know the system all that well) but the premise for your game is interesting. I'd like to know more.

I am interested in this, I am familiar with Pathfinder 2e (just got the Player Core 2 Book recently too)...and would love to play something...the martial classes are very good in PF2e...and the idea of possibly playing a life oracle in a world that disdains the supernatural/magic would be interesting to me.

how would classes like Animist, Exemplar or Kineticists be viewed in the world?
also at what level are you planning for us to make characters at?

How many characters can each of us have?

I'm interested, Partly because I'm curious about PF2.0. I've played D&D 3.5, 5e and Pathfinder as well as Gumshoe, Numenaria and a few Homebrew systems so I won't have trouble adapting.

The setting sounds like the kind where a character can start as seemingly mundane but discover their power as the story develops. I might be interested in that. What are the options for types of weapon specializations, classes, and races?

As for post frequency, twice a week sounds doable. How many players are you looking for?

Also I do like RPN's integrated dice system. I'm quite comfortable with it. Someone would have to walk me through how that would work on discord though. Discord is still new to me.

I'll keep an eye on this! I'm interested in the setting's idea, and I'd love to try out PF2 (haven't played before but I'm confident in my ability to learn quickly). I'm just worried my schedule won't allow for frequent posts but that's something to figure our if I decide to join.

Are there still spots open for this? If so I'd be interested in joining! (If your alright with someone who hasn't played pathfinder that is, I am a quick learner though and was able to catch onto DND 5e rules pretty quickly when I was introduced so I think I'll be able to pick things up fairly easy)

I know how to use the Discord dice system so if you needed help with that I can be of aid (It's very easy to use so I'm sure you'd catch on quickly) I however didn't even know RPN had a dice roling system so please help me with that if we do it on here in exchange.:neutralteeth:

May or may not also be relevant that I'm currently in the middle of reading Project Lawful, set in the same world.
