The World Divided, and Powers Rampant

"None." She said. "I'm... The last one." She meant the last of her family. Not that it mattered. She was the youngest in her family and knew that someday she'd be the only one left, but she hadn't expected her relatives to be wiped out during her childhood. "And yes, I travel alone, though that's by choice. I'm on a mission of sorts." She shrugged and gave anon committal smirk. She wouldn't say what her plan was, but it satisfied his question all the same. "What about you?"

His eyes slitted due to her question. His teeth looked sharper as he smiled. The metal studs in his chin vibrating softly as he looked at her. "I travel alone. I'm looking to travel the world and meet new people. People are interesting when you've been raised by animals your whole life." The metal still vibrating as his hair catches a small breeze and billows. He was intrigued by the woman infront of him, but he didn't know if she was dangerous or not. His instincts were confused as well. He would remain calm from the time being and if any harm came his way he was more than capable at handling it.

Half of her lips raised up in a smile. "We have very different ideas about people, then." She said. "I find them to be more of a nuisance than anything. A hinderance to my cause." Her face turned almost friendly once more. "Not that it matters. I'd be more interested in hearing about a person such as yourself, though. Being raised by animals and all, it's fascinating." Her lengthy hair caught some of the wind as well, and the tips flew on the breeze while the rest was still held down by her hood. She noticed that Gajeel seemed almost wary of her, as if he still considered her a threat. She could be very dangerous if she had a weapon, due to the gift she had. She could stop time and impale him a hundred times over before he even moved again. But seeing as how she carried no weapon right now, his wariness was unneccessary.

He noticed the smile and he eased up for a moment and began to laugh to himself. He stared at her. This was the first human he had met and she had struck his complete interest. " We do have different views and You do have an interesting side to yourself. Hating people as you do." He laughed aloud for a moment. He could sense something different about her. His body eased up and he decided to ask her a question that had bothered him since he had started this conversation. "Do you have powers?" He was fascinated by powers since he had accepted his. He would only reveal his if necessary.

The man's next question set Rain on edge. He'd somehow immediately guessed that she was different and was now questioning her about it. It was clear from the beginning that there was something different about him as well, and she suspected there may be more to it than just his speed. "That's an odd question," she said, not fully answering it. "Why do you ask?"

He smiled as his slitted eyes started to glow red and the metal in his skin started vibrating loudly."Let me show you." Suddenly his skin started turning metallic with scales on it. His entired body was covered as his red eyes remained on her. His entire figure was covered in iron scales. "This is why i asked. I control this power over iron." He remained in his iron cladded form, knowing that barely little harm could come his way. He stood their for a moment before asking his question again. "Do you have a power?" His interest in this girl grew more and more.

(Frost and Kage. I am so sorry I haven't been replying. I will get to it tomorrow. And, Frost, unless you replied again, I thought I replied to you.)

Rain raised her eyebrow. It was definitely a lot more noticeable than her power. "Yes." She said. Without further warning, everything stopped. She was the only thing mobile in the frozen space. She walked behind him, not wanting to lose too much energy in her demonstration, and time started again. "I have one power. It's not as.... Strong, as yours." She crossed her arms, waiting for him to turn around after noticing she'd disappeared and reappeared seemingly instantly. Time itself had not progreesed more than half a second for the rest of the world. After catching his attention again, she continued. "I'll show you." She reached out slowly, so as not to freak him out, placing one hand on his arm and stopping time again.

Everything around them froze. Any noise was gone, leaving the two of them in a silent, immobile zone. Birds in flight were frozen in place overhead. "As long as I'm touching you, you'll remain unfrozen as well." She said. "You can move around in here as much and as long as you want, and to everyone else it will seem like it happened instantly." Smiling, she allowed time to continue, dropping her hand back to her side.

He realized she had move from where they just was. He was kinda shocked for a moment but then he turned his gaze towards her as the metal faded from his skin. The studs vibration had ceased."That is amazing." He smiled as he continued to look at her. "so this is how you move around undetected and unharmed?" He was curious. He had never been so useless to a power before but then again he knew she was friendly so his worries was put aside. He hadn't seen such a power before and the very thought of it continued to spark his interest.

"Yes. At the first sight of danger, I can just... Walk away. Usually people think something dumb, like I've turned invisible or something." She shook her head. "You're the only one that knows what it is now." She smiled, covering her lips with one finger in a keep-it-secret motion. "The only time they've ever thought it might be something else is if I do something while time is stopped. I've taken down enemies before they even knew what was happening. It can be dangerous if I use it right, but I'm not all that dangerous a person. At least, I don't think so."

He smiled as he noticed the motion to keep it secret because he knew how killer instinct ran through everyone, especially people. "Your secret is safe with me." He laughed at the dangerous part. "You could be dangerous with a weapon, but your eyes show that you don't want to harm people. You are very calm but timid to others as if hiding something." He smiled knowing he had observed all this from just the moments they had spoken. He watched her waiting to see if his assumption was right or if he just said this out of nowhere.

"I don't have much to hide from normal people. It's just that they choose not to accept me. They think I'm strange, and blame me for their problems. It's strange. I try to help people, but somehow it looks like I'm the bad one." She crossed her arms. It wasn't fair, but it couldn't be helped. They wanted someone to blame, and she was the one that was around when bad things happened. "But I have things to hide from certain people, and I don't know who's connected to those certain people. So I just avoid everyone."

He smiled. "I have no connections. I'm just a wild creature." He laughed as he said it. It was true though. He had been raised in the woods and not even met a person til now. He could see that it bothered her that people blamed her."I don't believe you deserve the blame nor are you strange to me. I would seem more strange then you." He continued to laugh. He knew he was different but why be normal when you never was.

She smiled a little. "I suppose so." It was true that someone raised by animals should be viewed as a lot stranger than someone who could walk through time, but a lot of people would never guess that people like Gajeel existed. "I don't think people consider that there are people like you. Until today, I never would have guessed someone could be raised by wild animals."

He smiled. "You are very right but thats why i showed up. To meet people and make friends even though my exterior is cold looking." He had noticed how Rain's emotions changed. He was glad that he could put a smile on her face. He was curious about her which was very unusual to him due to his confrontations with other humans. He never knew they could be so nice. He was almost shocked but returned his attention back to the lady."So i guess we are now friends?" He awaited her response knowing the future couldn't be predicted.

Rain was a little shocked that he wanted to be friends. She had already been surprised when he stuck around for conversation as long as he had so far, but now he felt close enough to befriend her. Her smile returned. "You could say that. Yeah, we're friends."

He smiled even more as he noticed her smile. He had accomplished making a friend something he wanted to do ever since he left the woods. He looked at her for a second then looked around. He could still sense the others around. "What do you like to do for fun?" He was gonna break her out of this shell. He waited on her answer if she would give an answer.

She honestly had to think about that one for a moment. She hadn't taken the time to have fun in quite some time, since she'd dedicated her life to finding her parent's killers. "Sometimes when it's too cold outside to keep walking, I go into the library and read. The one here is surprisingly intact. Well, the books anyway. The building is nearly as bad as all of the other ones, but the books have been covered and sheltered from the wind. There are a few areas of the building that still stand, and it's a lot warmer than being outside."

He heard the word library and he noticed the way she talked about it. He would be interested to see what she meant. He always loved to learn some new stuff but maybe he would learn more with a library. He smiled as he looked at her. "Can you show the way?" He asked. He wanted to see it with his own eyes and maybe he would learn more about this world around him. Also he could give his friend something fun to do then just walking. He was gonna make a difference here no matter what came his way.

Rain nodded. She hadn't thought about the fact that the woods didn't have libraries, and Gajeel probably had no idea what she was talking about. She turned around, leading the way. She wanted to make some sort of conversation on the way there, but luckily it was a short walk and a few minutes later they were standing in front of it. It had orignally been a huge building, but one half of it had fallen in. The other half was mostly intact, which is where she did all her reading. It looked like it would fall any moment, but with her power she'd be able to get out before it hit her. But now she had to be even more careful since he was here too. "This is it," she said, motioning to the library.

He looked up at the building and at the size of it. He knew what she was talking about. He looked at the conditioning of the building before getting the urge to enter it. Without a thought in his mind, he looked at her. "May we enter?" He asked. Curiousity had sparked within inside him. He only knew of what to come not focused with the possibility of harm. He waited for her response as the metal on his body began to give off vibrations once more.

She nodded and started walking towards the building. Nothing had changed since the last time she was here, so she figured that they'd be okay. There were a few shelves still standing, but most lay on their sides or their contents were scattered on the floor. She picked some of them up, setting them on a table that looked just as rickety as everything else here.

He noticed all the books lying around on the floor. It almost saddened him that a place had become like this. he didn't want to be sad not infront of her. He looked at the books then back at her."What happened here?"

"It's kind of a long story..." She said, adjusting the books on the table. It was a story for another day. Today should be all about being happy for once. She'd met someone who didn't instantly hate her, and she was introducing him to all the things he'd never seen since he wasn't raised around it.

What the **** Kayla thought and glared at their assailant, her eyes going an odd purple color, small pentagrams where the pupil should be, and a grin formed on her face. Alright, let's play. She looked at Jake, then to the unknown assailant again, "Friends I presume? How nice." She still intended to have fun with beating him in a fight. What should I use...? I don't want to hurt the boy too much...

Kayla decided and readied her stance, "Spirits of the light draw near and hear my cry, evil rises and forms against me. Thine enemies harm for me harbor, and clamor that ill-deeds be done. Ill-deeds to add to the iniquitous actions of them and their minions of the dark. I beg thee fold me in thy arms, whilst right be done, and vengeance be wrought. The flaming sword of retribution be visited upon them and their hearts be purged. Let great pressure be brought to bear Upon their wicked heads, so that their minds may be washed clean of ill-intent and darkness. These things I beg of thee, that thus they may come to pass." Gods be I hate these long incantations...

A sword made of fire appeared in her hands, long, though she knew it would not help with the long range. She sighed,
Wow I am out of practice... this is good for me then... She motioned for the flying man to come down to her own level as she grinned. Kayla pointed at his wings, and spoke again, "Cillis tempra." The simple spell would make his wings considerably colder and harder to move, while Kayla just readied herself further.
