Dear [enter name here], (and actually add the name here, don't just leave it blank.)
We have received your resume for the job opening of [enter title here] and after careful consideration, we are exceptionally pleased to offer you the position. Here at the White Swan, we strive to only employ the mostly highly trained (ha!) and capable individuals. We are sure you will fit right in with our team, and that you will show the utmost professionalism in your work. (Remember that guy that came to work dressed as a duck and gave some granny a scare? Man...)
As a part of your training, our HR has added this short information pamphlet about us and our establishment. Please read it thoroughly.
1. Where are we located?
Little Beacon, Oregon, USA. Set by a scenic view of the Bright Level Lake and of the surrounding area, we offer a peaceful atmosphere in the heart of nature and fresh ingredients from our gardens and farm. Not to be confused with the gentlemen's undergarment company based out of Massachusetts. (We are only loosely related.)
2. When was the restaurant established?
We have a long history and tradition, one first given to us by the original owner of the White Swan - the famous chef Thomas Luna, who first created the restaurant in the year 1956. Sir Luna, as you might have heard, passed three years ago and ownership has since passed on to his daughter Emilia Luna. She works in close contact with our team, pushing us to give out work in her father's highest standard. (When she's not drunk.) (...if you're reading this, Emilia. Please remember hiring new people is a tiring process.)
3. What is the restaurant's mission?
To provide an unique culinary experience, overseen by a staff that is passionate and willing to constantly learn. (And to get a Michelin Star. That tire boy can't keep it from me forever.)
4. How many buildings make up the restaurant?
Our main eating establishment with an attached patio. A more seasonal building, where we hosts yearly balls and holidays. A dock providing boats to guests. A smaller farm about two minutes away from the eating areas to prevent cross-contamination. From the farm we get our meat, eggs and milk, which are of the best quality expected.
We are pleased to answer any other questions you may have at our email or telephone number.
As a note - do not believe the rumors that our sheep escape routinely and terrorize our guests. It is propaganda from our near-by rival, the Estelicche Family. They have not, and will not ever, chase people up trees.
Best regards,
The White Swan.
Hi, hello and welcome to the White Swan, a small group roleplay about a high class restaurant and it's... questionable staff. This is based off a show I've been watching called Ja, Chef if any of you have seen it, although absolutely no knowledge is needed as this will be an original story.
This plot isn't expected to be long-term or complex - it's meant to be more, hopefully, fun and more episodic with the characters having to figure out various situations and with the occasional time-skip. While the set-up isn't dramatic, I would love for the characters to develop a sort of found family dynamic and have some angst/fluff, possibly with some mini character arcs along the way.
Also, you don't need to have any knowledge about fine dining or culinary arts to join in! Some of the characters are encouraged to have absolutely no idea about what is going on, ever. :')
If you have any questions, please let me know! On that note, character roles are not gender-locked nor do you have to pick any of them. Making up your own ideas is very much appreciated!

the head chef
The leader and the one answering directly to the owner of the White Swan, taking credit for all of the success... and the responsibility for anything that goes wrong. They're the one keeping it all together and giving orders. Or at least, that's what they're supposed to be doing.
open
the sous chef
A deputy. A second-in-command. The one trying desperately to not have everything go to hell, with all the cynicism of a war-worn veteran and a kindergarden teacher about to retire. Trying to keep the place from burning down is no easy task, but the Sous Chef hasn't failed. Yet.

headwaiter
Dealing with hungry customers is hard enough. Even worse when said customers have more money than you do stress wrinkles and never had to wait for anything. Well-trained, charming and with the ability to somehow carry more plates than should be humanely possible, they're the one keeping all of the wait staff from running loose.
open
the fight or flight
It's easy to get nervous, with people yelling at you - a new waiter is expected to shed a tear or two. But as easy as they are to make cry, they... well. Haunted house employees shudder at the mention of their name. They never mean to punch a customer or send soup flying in their face, but fight or flight is a strong force and it just so happens they're a fighter. A literal one, not in a metaphorical way. You'd think they would have been fired by now, but all of the staff has to agree the customers usually deserve it.

the fool
taken by miyabi
Who hired this guy again? They're a cook, supposedly, but they somehow don't seem to know anything about... anything. They've put forks in the microwave, gleefully toasted an entire phone and even flooded the entire kitchen with soda. And yet, by some strange joke of the gods, all of the food they end up making is exceptionally delicious. Which is why they're still round, probably.
open
the pranksters
This role is meant for two people, hopefully!
Work is never dull with these two - and that's not a compliment. Mischevious in the worst way and determined to make at least one person have a breakdown per day, they're the ones wreaking the most havoc. Sadly for them and great for others, most of their pranks get solved... until the pranks take an unexpected turn for the worse.
open
the newbie
Bright-eyed, hopeful and still with a sea of optimism inside them, they've just joined the team in hopes of following their dreams of working in fine dining. Energetic and willing to learn, altrough still inexperienced... and possibly not knowing what the White Swan is actually like. Hopefully they're ready for a misadvanture here and there.
open
the foreign hire
Trained in the prestigious universities of their home country and with all the pride that comes with it, they've travelled to America in order to learn under the eye of the well-known Emilia Luna. Their mentor is a close friend of hers, and so their spot at the restaurant was a given. They might have some high expectactions that, uh. Might be broken once they spend a week here.

rule one!
Please be 18+ and have a discord! Most of the OOC chatter will happen on there.
rule two!
This should be a given, but absolutely no bigotry, bullying or OOC drama will be tolerated. Please be respectful of you fellow writers!
rule three!
This will not be first come first serve. This is only to make sure characters will fit into the roleplay and not to be picky, so please don't be offended if your character doesn't get picked.
rule four!
This will be a more casual-paced roleplay, with the posts being more quick-paced and fun (a good paragraph or two would be ideal!) While a post per week would be great, I definitively understand if things come to a halt or if real life comes in the way.
