LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, BROTHERS AND SISTERS,COUNTRYMEN AND FOREIGNERS ALIKE!

Today I come to you with a thought I have long wished to see become reality, so now I make it so.

-----------------------------------

Here's how this works: Some time ago I got this wacko thought in my head, and for some reason or the other it just would not leave. As I was thinking, it morphed and eventually I got thinking at a higher level. I got to thinking to myself "Hey, wouldn't it be cool if we got all of RpN's best writers, took their stories, and shoved them all in to the same universe?"

I mean, just think about it.

Many of our best games and stories are PERFECTLY compatible. So many times it has been that I have looked between two RP's and said "Hold up. These two would be really nifty if they were in the same universe."

The thing is that RpN already has most of the necessary ingredients. We've got Genera types, we've got the Casual/Detailed groupings, but what is it we don't have? Unity.

The theory is that writers from all around RpN of all levels of writing come in and browse a series of universes set up for specific themes or styles of stories and - should they like what they see - apply to have their RP included in that particular universe. Games that are great will find their way in really quick, although games that don't quite fit that universe's theme might be directed to a different, more compatible universe or have someone coach the applicant in how to make their RP better suited for that section.

The universes themselves will be a lot like your classic Guilds or Clans, or even the Groups found on Deviantart. Each one has their own mission statement, have their collection of stories, have their "moderator" (be they a legit one or no) and have a place for cross game discussions. The members could ask their fellow RPers if certain crossover/cameos to/from their game would be acceptable and maybe even participate in intergame events (mega plots that can spawn from either the universe's leaders or its members) and competitions from time to time.

I know this all sounds more like a whole 'nother site and its organisation system maybe, but I think that we could make it work just fine on RpN itself. If we can do what I am about to mention.

Now that I've brought the idea up, what we will all need is a bunch of people who want to hop in on the action and at least one Mod or Admin that would be willing to sponsor and advise this project as it is developed. Both parts are equally important as I need the Staff to make sure that this caters to as many people as possible and turns out as cool as it can, and the roaring screaming crowd of RPers so that D-Wiz or his homies will see that this isn't just one guy's crazy idea but something that a lot of people want. That and so that this thing actually will have members.

Now, the only way that is going to happen is if everyone who finds this goes and tells their buddies on here who they think might be interested, and then they contact more RPers and so on and so forth. After we draw this massive collection of people here, we will have to find a way to set up conferences with different groups (the main group will be split into smaller ones depending on the size) and we begin the creation of our pan-RP-universes.

Comments? Questions? Concerns? Ask away. Anything you have to say is appreciated. If you would like to join the RPers Coalition, please tag me and announce your allegiance to the group.

Thank you.

So just to be certain I understand this correctly you proposing some kind of Hosted Project that would work as a vehicle to crossover various roleplays?

( i'm a comic nerd so i'll use DC as an example )

So DC comics obviously has several different titles out at the same time.

You've got your Justice League, individual titles ( Batman, Flash, Green Lantern, etc ) and your events.

The individual titles could be like onexones where one or two people complete a smaller scale story dealing with their individual characters only.

The Justice League or group roleplays - could be like the regular roleplays that people come up with. Each with their own story line and cast of characters.

The Events then could be the times when groups and individuals crossover for a universe wide storyline.

It's entirely possible to do this - although I'm not sure you'd get enough people who would want to go through the hassle. Especially in more original works where you asking someone to mesh their own personal universe with someone else.

Fandom roleplays could do this easily with little to no actual work. As your already working with a shared universe all you really need to do is put some organization into things

That...

Almost made sense. Not really, though.

In this case, DC is our RpN. The Universes are like Marvel's Eaths, only less interearth crossovers. Then, each game is an individual world or series of worlds depending on how it functions. 1x1s and Group RPs won't behave any differently in this system. Your description of Events was about right, though.

So is this still a thing? Because I must admit it was pretty interesting.

It most certainly is! I was hoping to talk a bit more to DWiz about it, but he hasn't responded. Also, if we want this to go forward... Well, I can't be the only one advertising it. I need you to promote this too.

Haha you should have told me m8. Consider me a part of the crew then. I will try to advertise this when I can.

I did, but if you missed it in that block of text then no biggie. Good to hear that I can count on you, Cyanide! No go forth and give almonds in surplus!

Yup, missed. I'm will try to make up for it I PROMISE!!!

So basically you want to make a giant rp "universe" that brings together/aligns/includes all the other rps

This sounds like your run of the mill multiverse, a setting where several world or other settings overlap. Like what Rhydin was on AOL (and now on dragonsmark).

Basically, yeah.

I'm not familiar with either of those examples, but you seem to have the right idea.

Good to hear! I'm starting to getting a pretty solid list of people who like it, but we're going to need a small/medium sized army to pull this off right. So from here on out, you are all hired. You're going to be the Weave's very own Recruiters. It won't pay much, but if you are willing the job starts immediately.

Woot! It took a couple weeks but, ladies and gents, the engines are starting and we are gaining some speed! Still got the rest of the runway to worry about, but if we keep going at this pace then we can pull this off!

It's good to have you on-board, Herr Volfe. We have an army to build, so let's get moving!
