Alexander Stark
Excited
Kings Landing
Open for interaction
Alexander took in a deep breath of the warm air, then the sharp cold airs of Winterfell crossed his mind very different but this was very refreshing, throughout all of the places he had traveled to he never stepped foot in Kings Landing making today just that much greater, outside of the tournament. Riding behind his father one hand holding the reigns to his stallion, the other resting on the hilt of his blade, today gave Alex mixed feelings, this tournament could end horribly with some mad trap, but he also knew that it could be a beneficial opportunity, to create alliances that would eventually strengthen The North.

Tightening up on the reigns, gradually pulling back, frost began slowing down to a trot before completely stopping, dismounting his horse, he began giving the white Steed a few strokes along his back with his hand, before looking over towards Delta giving him a series of pats on the head. Hearing his father toss out orders he retained what was necessary, and responded with a simple nod before turning away, his father hated events such as this and knew Gawyn may be easy to anger, that being the case Alex made sure he wasn’t the one to do so. Strolling through the shops Alex couldn’t, and wouldn’t leave Kings landing without seeing a blacksmith or two, he had made sure to bring enough coin to cover his costs for fourteen days even though the tournament was set to only last seven, he would not leave with any regrets.

Smelling the scent of burning coals, and the sounds of clanging metal Alex knew he was on the right path, following his senses he found himself at bladesmith’s stand with a great line out front. Waiting in line for a good while he had finally made it to the front, to find a large man standing behind a table covered in blades. Scanning the table in silence, nothing catching his eye until he seen a set of throwing knives, with intricate designs, smooth finishing on every blade, not to mention how easily visible it was that they were forged from an excellent grade of metal, there was no way he was leaving without those knives.

“ What would you like for this set sir? I am comfortable with whatever your asking price is, but I am in a bit of a rush, but happy I waited through the line you had, the craftsmanship on these blades are remarkable, and I cannot allow myself to leave without them. “ Alex said sharply his hand resting on his coin pouch right next to his sword.

The Burly man opened his mouth letting out a low growl of a voice “ Give me three gold dragon coins and be on your way. ” the man said before noticing the wolf’s head that sat upon his sword. “ A Stark huh, must be some sort of royalty here for the tournament, give me two and share where you got them from and we’ll call it a deal, they come with leather belt sheathes also, by the way my name is Harvey! ” The man said handing over the blades.

Reaching in his pouch he pulled out four of the gold coins and dropped them in the man’s hand. “ Well then Harvey, you make your way too Winterfell and I promise there will be more where that came from. ” He said placing the blades along the left side of his belt, giving the man one last nod before heading back to meet with his father before everything got started.

Cordelia

Kings Landing

The young Lannister girl clasped her hands, causing Cordelia to stand up slowly. Most would never guess she was once a slave with how she carried herself. Looking back at the Lannister girl, she opened the book and flipped the pages; she spoke, "The Religion of the lord of light." Stopping when she landed on the page, "And you are not wrong to do so."

Cordelia looked to the book and only rose when Cassia spoke again. Finally, noticing the Lannister who seemed to be acquainted with Cassia, Markas Lannister. Giving him a subtle smile as she said, "Cordelia of Asshai."

Closing the book, placing it on the earth's soil, and kneeling back down, she turned to look at Lady Lannister; her visions showed a girl on the iron throne. Cordelia had faith that the girl in front of her was the one in her visions. Letting her out of her sight wasn't an option. Looking at Cassia's clasped hands as she spoke, "Lady Lannister, I believe you are a special girl." she paused, "And not just because you could sing." Cordelia has never heard the Lannister girl sing, but the Lord of light has blessed his Priests with the gift of knowledge, which Cordelia didn't use often. Looking back up at Cassia, she determined that she needed to be bold but not too much that it would send Cassia running.

As she unclasped the girl's hand, she spoke, "If I may be so bold? Please don't be wary of me, my Lady. I wish to protect you with the power of R'hllor." And hopfully cut down the fellow who has crushed this little girl's soul, she thought.

Maerie Stark

Maerie Stark could hardly contain herself. She was in King's Landing, a place far from home and completely fascinating. It had been a long trip and she couldn't read much along the way, as looking down at the pages whilst bumping around in a moving carriage made her feel rather ill. But Maerie was so excited she could barely focus on such things anyway, too busy rattling off every type of plant or tree or little critter she could recognize as they passed by, regaling a bored Freya with facts about their growth or habits. And when they'd finally reached King's Landing, Maerie was even more awestruck by the sights, all the people and hustle and bustle of the city that Winterfell just didn't offer. She wondered what it was like to live in such a lively place.

Once they'd reached their destination and Lord Stark had dismounted his horse to speak with the servants that greeted them, Maerie could barely stand waiting in the carriage for their father to give the twins permission to get out and stretch their legs. Pressing her face against the window to watch curiously until Gawyn had finished his short conversation and opened the carriage door for Maerie to come spilling out with her sister in tow.

The young ravenette gazed around in wonder, absently smoothing down the front of her midnight black dress. "Isn't it beautiful??" Maerie squealed, an interesting choice of words for such a filthy place lousy with beggars and the inescapable stench of excrement. She glanced around her family for anyone in agreement, first Freya, then Alexander up on his horse; though when she got to her father, the scowl on his face made it evident he didn't think much of the city at all.

Maerie straightened up as Lord Stark barked orders at everyone, dismissing her uncle and brother and offering the twins a chance to do some shopping and exploring around the city with their guard Larra. He promised he'd see to it they had enough gold to purchase anything of their little hearts' desire. The girl was overjoyed at this suggestion, throwing her arms around Gawyn to give him the biggest squeeze of gratitude. "Thank you, father!" She grinned up at him before she let the man free from her tiny bearhug, deep green eyes sparkling with delight.

"Come on, Larra! Can we look for books first pleeease??" Fizzy with unabashed joy and excitement, Maerie grabbed the woman's hand and tugged her along impatiently. She could only imagine the sheer volume of fantastic tomes that were tucked away the little shops strewn about the city, probably things she'd never dream of coming across in the limited library of Winterfell.

  • Larra Sand

Countless eyes watched from the sides of the streets as the Stark caravan road through the crowded streets of the capitol. Despite the clear increase in city watch due to so many lords and ladies rolling into town Larra never let her guard down for a single seconds. She looked calm and cold up on her horse, her dark hair running down her back in a long and thick braid as she road atop her black speckled steed. She had positioned herself carefully in the line of carriages and horses, close enough to the Lord and his son to reach them if needed but near enough to the carriage to dissuade any from attempting to break in. Her icy blue gaze swept over the streets as she road and she took note of any individual who so much as sneered towards the passing lord, ready to cut them down if they dared to move a step closer. She wasn’t keen on losing her greatest source of income to some daft thug on the streets of Kings Landing, not that she didn’t believe Lord Stark could fend for himself but it was her job to keep the blood pumping in his heart.

Of course, Larra herself got several looks as they entered the gates of the Red Keep. While Ladies and their handmaids were adorned in beautiful, clearly expensive gowns and taking dainty steps out of carriages Larra road on horseback like a man. With her, there was sooner a chance of seeing the sun turn blue than witness her in a dress. She almost exclusively wore pants and shirts or her leather armor because those were far easier to move and fight within. She couldn’t imagine having to go into real combat with layers of fabric ready to trip her at any moment and truly hoped to never have to even try. At her side her sword, dagger, and whip were safely secured to her belt and legs, easy for her to reach at a moments notice but not accessible to anyone wishing to disarm her. Overall Larra looked ready to do her job and quite clearly didn’t give a dame what anyone had to say about it unless they planned to pay her to listen.

Dismounting her horse, Sava, the sell sword moved swiftly towards the carriage to make sure Maerie and Freya exited it safely. Just as she reached the young ladies method of transportation you Lady Maerie came bursting forth from within, her face painted with pure excitement and wonder as she looked around at the massive city. Larra had no doubts that the entire ride through Kings Landing Maerie had sat with her nose practically pressed to the window as she took it all in. This was not Larra’s first trip to Kings Landing, no, the ebony-haired bastard had been to the capitol more than once in her time before the Starks and during her service to them. Any time Lord Stark left Winterfell she was at his side, his life hers to protect and defend. He paid her well and they had their fun together, she was comfortable and he always found a way to make that so. As far as she could see at the moment her future was in the North seeing as she had no reason to leave the Stark House any time soon.

As Gawyn began to bark orders and take charge of the unloading of the caravan he instructed her to go with his daughters into the city and ensure their safety. The Dornish sell sword didn’t complain as she was told to go on a shopping trip with the young girls. She knew all too well how dangerous a city like this could be for a young woman and intended to make sure no harm came to the young ladies and that nothing ruined their excitement. “Books? Didn’t I see a whole trunk full of them packed away with your things?” She teased the young woman as she followed her through the streets, making sure to keep a close eye on Maerie and Freya as they wandered. “Did you bring a spare trunk to fill that I missed?” She added with a chuckle as she gave Freya a wink as she spoke to Maerie.

Laena Velaryon

Laena stepped out onto the street, flanked by her 2 guards. She had been to see the seamstress on the progress of a new dress she had requested on her fathers’ orders. Satisfied that the deep blue silk dress was going to be ready in time, she paid the seamstress a nice tip of an extra gold dragon for the excellent work. Walking along the busy street her guards right there with her, allowed Laena some time to think on her fathers words from the night before. He had announced to the family while they were eating that while in Kings Landing for the Tourney, he would be arranging betrothals for both Laena and her oldest brother and her fathers Heir.

Her father had stated that he would take his sons opinions and requests under advisement, but Laena was not granted the same courtesy. Sighing to herself, her smile slipping slightly as she remembered the debate, she had with her father this morning while breaking her fast. Laena’s talent for negotiation and charm worked and she was given the same courtesies as her brother. But she knew that if her father disagreed with her choice, she would be told so, unlike her brother. Shaking herself from the memories of last night, she remembered the plans she had made with Kyra. With the Tourney happening it was the perfect time to stand and watch ships coming in through breakwater bay since nobility from all the Seven kingdoms would be in attendance.

Laena had become friends with Kyra while she joined her father on negotiation trips to the Riverlands and had kept in touch via letters and visits when time allowed. Once close to the docks, Laena could make out her friend and smiled. “Started without me?” She said with a grin as she approached. Her guard standing back a bit to give privacy. “Any far-flung banners been seen yet?” She asked, joining her friend and looking out over the water. Being from Driftmark, the sea was as common as the air she breathed but she could understand the love of ship watching if she were from a more inland place.
