The War of Black and White

Kouraj grunted as she sat in her seventh hour class, just waiting to be released from Greenwood Prepatory Academy. She saw the rain fall down onto the football feild, where the poor track kids were running. She trailed off into thoughts. "That rain is falling hard. Good thing I brought my umbrella. Oh, I did forget to bring my Black realm bracelet. Shoot. I'll have to go come and get it. While I'm at it I could-" Her thoughts were interrupted by the school bell. She stood up and walked to her locker. She smoothed her skirt and grabbed her umbrella, heading out into the rain. She walking tightly under her umbrella until she reached her front porch. She walked inside, knowing it would be empty. Her parents live in the Black realm, making her attend school in the human realm. She was going over her schedule and then realized somthing written down that she had missed the day before. In small, perfect letters it said: Helping Master: 4:30. She gasped and snatched the bracelet off of her kitchen table and sprinted out the door. The walk home took half and hour, meaning she only had another half hour. She had to get to the edge of town so that she could go to the black realm. She couldn't wait to see master again. She could see some other kids staring at her, but she ignored them. Slipping on the Black realm bracelet, she kept running until she read the sign: Greenwood: City limits. She looked at her watch. That had took her ten minutes, despite her running. She rubbed the bracelet and said "Black as night and day, magic door take me away." She walked forward and suddenly dissapeared. She opened her eyes to show her the black realm.

Aetherius was walking down an abandoned road in the Human realm. It was calm, and silent, he liked it that way. This peace was disturbed when a group of thugs, started walking towards him carrying baseball bats. There were three of them, Aetherius used his eyes to analyze them.

The first was the "Leader" of this pitiful gang, his name was Ronnie. His father was an alcoholic and would come home very late at night, just to beat him and tell him how worthless he is, while his mother stood in the sidelines, watching in fear before she got a beating herself. Then one day, his father never came home, the newspaper said it had been a DUI, and that his dad hit a tree while he was coming home, but something in Ronnie's mind made him think otherwise. But his mortal brain couldn't figure that out.

The second was a chubby one, his name was Daniel. He isn't popular at school, all the kids make fun of him and tease him about his size. That's why he joined the gang, for protection, and acceptance. These juveniles were the closest thing he had to friends, but even they, make fun of him from time to time. He wants to be here, because the others make him feel wanted, and humans like to feel wanted.

The last one is a wanderer, his name is Rick. He could've been real popular at school, he could've been captain of the football team. But, no. He decided to tag along with these losers, because he spent his Freshman year being popular, and he wanted to try something different. But look where that's got him.

He took a gulp of his water, before walking up to face them. Ronnie was the first to threaten. "Hey man, give us all your money, or we'll beat your ass!" Aetherius couldn't help but laugh. This irritated them, and they all asked "What's so funny?". He responded by looking Rick (He had the best build) directly in the eyes, and then taking his form. They were all completely shocked, because he was an exact copy of Rick. Aetherius reached into his pocket and sighed. A switchblade... I really hate knives, they're too easy to break. He pulled out the switch and promptly stabbed Rick in the neck, which was now gushing with blood. He turned to Daniel who was trying to run, but because of his weight, He grabbed him easily by his hood. He took the hilt of the blade, and knocked him upside the head with it, then he grabbed his neck and quickly snapped it. Then there was Ronnie, who was paralyzed with fear. He decided to do something special with him. He looked into his mind, and got an image of his father, he took that form. "Hey Ronnie-boy. Remember me?" He said stepping towards him. "D-Dad?" he choked out. He chuckled maliciously. "No. Actually, i'm the one that killed your father." He swung at him, once, twice, three times, and he was out. He laughed, and switched to his normal form, then took a drink of water. To think, they came here to take my money, I might aswell take theirs, don't want it to go to waste... Aetherius then looted the boys. It was about 340$ total. He looked up at the sky, it was getting dark. He decided he should head back to the Black realm, the edge of town wasn't too far from here, but still.. Aetherius looked at a nearby crow, and took it's form. He flew to the edge, and switched back. He rubbed his Black realm bracelet and called "Black as night and day, magic door take me away." He stepped forward and vanished.

Home sweet home...

Kouraj flicked her tail and put her umbrella away. She hated the stupid rhyme that they had to say in order to get home. She saw another enter the realm and wondered. "Have I seen him before? Does he live in Greenwood? Impossible."She ignored him and continued walking. She loved the black realm. Mostly everything was black. Of course, there were colors, but not many people used them. All of the buildings were black with a white outline, but the people remained the same. She walked toward the around the city until she reached the Dojo. She opened the paper doors and slid inside, seeing her master with a few kids. Tying her hair up, she walked toward her master. Bowing polity, she began to talk. "Master, what would you like me to do?" He looked up with his creepy old eyes and took a swing at her. She dodged it easily, thinking. "Ah, I see now." The middle aged man looked at his students, "Today we shall learn dodging. Kouraj here will be helping us." She bowed to the children. "Master, may I?" He nodded. "First thing children," She threw knives directly above their head, hitting the wall behind them. The children gasped at the near death and let out a deep breath. "Never let your guard down. Even in the bathroom. Next thing, build your reflexes. Expect the unexpected. I need a volunteer." One of the boys stood up slowly. "Come on, I won't hurt you." He shakily walked toward her. "What are you expecting me to do?" He let out a feeble breath and talked quietly. "To... point a knife at me?" Kouraj laughed, and continued."Well, you weren't expecting me to but you ice cream! Which is what I'll do because you volunteered." She handed him some money and told him to sit down. She finished teaching the kids, and then walked out of the Dojo, in the direction of the castle. She needed to see the queen. She pushed open the door to see the queen sitting in her throne, being beautiful. "Queen Kazuki! I came as fast as I could." She walked up the stairs, kneeling for the queen. Beside her sat her little sister, or so she claims, Hana. "There you are, please, we have an issue. We are on a shortage of soldiers. We need to get them, what's the word, pumped up or something. We are going to battle in four days. Four days! That is not much time and I prefer not to draft." Kouraj nodded and spoke. "Call a war meeting with the best in the Black realm. We will figure it out, my queen." She nodded and sent messengers to find the greatest warriors in the Realm. Kouraj reported to her room to get sleep. She mustn't be sleepy in the war meeting tomorrow evening.

Aetherius looked around. It's not much, but it's home. He noticed someone else walking ahead of him. A lanky woman, with a tail. Who's that? A recruit? Eh, it doesn't matter. He reached into his pocket and grabbed his water, only to find it was empty. "Dammit." He muttered. It was so hard to get water in the Black realm. Aetherius is the only person in the Black realm that actually needed water to survive. The only source of it was a stream, about 8 miles east. Aetherius began pondering what the most efficient way to get there was.Should I turn into a car? No. The terrain here is too unpredictable. A Cheetah? Maybe... Wait. I got it! He closed his eyes and imagined a magnificent spotted Falcon, they have top speeds of 202 Mph. He felt his body shrink and contract. He opened his eyes. Perfect.

He got a running start, and flapped his wings, he soared across the realm. It was truly an amazing view. He passed over the Hollowbark Woods, and over the mountains, until he got to his valley. He landed on a tree stump, and switched into his original form. He would never dare tell anyone about this place. This is his place, his home. He walked over to the stream and filled up his water bottle, then took a well-deserved drink. He pulled his hood down, something he would never do if he was anywhere but this valley. He owns this valley. And if anyone were to follow him, that would be their last day. He picked up a rock, and threw it at what looked to be open air, but it wasn't. It was a simple illusion magic that Queen Kazuki had helped him with when she was still a novice in the dark arts. Aetherius's house was now revealed. The cozy little tree-house he had built. He pulled the key out of his pocket, and unlocked the mahogany door. He walked into the living room, and climbed up the ladder that was hanging down from the ceiling. He got up in his bedroom, and heard a familiar 'Mrrrrooooowwww...' Aetherius smiled as he saw his adorable tabby kitten Chloe. Aetherius practically melted. He loved kittens with all his heart, but he could never let anyone know that, it would ruin his reputation. He got into bed and pet Chloe until he fell asleep.

Kouraj slept in the castle room made for her. She got up and changed into her war general clothes, mostly black armor with steel plates on the weak spots. She twitched her ears and flicked her tail, sensing someone coming. She turned around as the door burst open. She grabbed her katana out of the sheath and had it pointed at the head of the person standing before her. She saw a messenger holding a letter. She took it and sent him off. The letter read:

"My dearest Kouraj,

We will not be returning home for a few days. Please take care. Sorry for the late notice.

Your loving parents."

She sighed and put the note away. Holding her helmet, she walked into the main chamber, where the Queen sat gracefully. She bowed then left the castle, heading for the realm doors. She opened the one to the Human realm and stepped through. Her clothes changed to a black tee shirt and skinny jeans and her ears and tail disappeared. Her backpack was slung over her shoulder and she looked at her phone. The time was 6:45, enough time to walk to school and still be able to hang out before. Since it was Friday, there were no school uniforms.

(I will be posting some more characters, I don't know when. I'll let you know when though so please check the character sheet thread to see them! Oh, and there will be an update on the info on the school, town, and the realms. So be sure to check both of the other threads to see that.)

Aetherius got up from his bed, Chloe was still curled up on a pillow sleeping. He walked over to his dresser, and put on his familiar black hoodie. Once he left the house, he immediately transformed into a falcon. He soared over the landscape, until he reached the Castle. He walked in through the hidden passageway that had been made three decades ago. This way he wouldn't have to be bothered by any disposable recruits that would likely be dead once the battle has begun. The old passage led straight to the Main Chamber, where his old friend sat on her marvelous throne. He nodded a greeting to her, before stepping into the human realm.

The streets were busy this time of day, everyone trying to get to work or school... It comforted him that he would be the reason that one of them wouldn't make it to their destination. He looked around for the optimum prey, someone with a fancy sports car most likely. Then he saw it, a Cherry Red Mustang, occupied by a stressed business man. He began sprinting towards the vehicle, despite the fact it was on the highway. Aetherius shifted into a bright yellow Cheetah, and latched on to the bumper of the car, then shifted back. In the side-view mirror, he got a glimpse of the man's eyes. Now he knew everything he needed. He searched through the man's mind, to find he has two children, and a divorced wife. He favors his Son over his Daughter. Imagine that... It had been a while since Aetherius had to change into a child for a kill, but oh well. He took a drink of his water, and changed into his Son, Sammy. He climbed through the open passenger window. The Man still hadn't noticed him, but the cars behind him were now driving to a mental facility to get themselves checked. "Daddy...?" Aetherius called. That was all it took. The man, who's name was Steve, took one look at his Son in the passenger seat before he crashed into the side of a building. The car was totaled, but Aetherius had just gotten 3,000 bucks, off of this one guy.

When he got out of the car, he looked at the time. 7:40 AM. Hm... Maybe I should get some coffee. It's improved over the last 100 years right? With that thought, he headed towards the nearest coffee shop.
