The Wandering Tide

Aaaall abooooooard!

I've checked if everyone's on the ship from their posts and it seems like we all are (yay!) KrisiStar should be ok to catch up when she gets back so we can start sailing now, can't wait to hit those waves Naga :D

Songbird it might be good to let us know when you reckon the ship is all set up to sail so we can move on to more talking bits or some action :big grin:

I waited a week for someone to post in one RP. This RP was moving along so fast and now.. it's slow.

It's slow because people are doing other things. The solution to that isn't to post big changes to the story before others even get a chance to read the previous changes. What you do is show some self control and patience, find something else to do until people post. It's not hard.

I thought of a possible edition, just an idea: several items on the ship/in the ocean (one for each character of course c:) have curses or spells on them. This makes each item have a power, like the power to create fire or poison things with it's touch. This would help us fight the Kraken > :D ... But to avoid it being to godlike each item (sword, bow and arrows, hammer, etc.) should take a lot of energy to use: each character can get in one or two or three very strong attacks, or more less powerful attacks. Let me hear your thoughts ^^

I'm really confused now, this RP had such a simple premise and stuff has gone in a direction I didn't think it would. I thought we'd be fighting other ships and seeking treasure but now all this strange stuff is happening really quickly.

yeah, i agree, its starting to get too crazy, i liked the simpleness of it and like a stereotypical pirate adventure, but now its starting to sound like something out of a fairytale thats even more crazy than peter pan, i dont realy like the idea imo, as well as people are getting godmoddy as it is, this is like giving everyone the ability to, i dont think we should, i agree with vindictive

Yes, this should be a pure and simple pirate rp. I don't have a problem with supernatural things usually but that isn't really the essence of pirates. Sure they had lore and such, but it wasn't what they were about. They wanted wealth in the easiest way possible, by attacking the vulnerable. You're idea isn't bad, it's just not what I think any of us were expecting per se. Though if supernatural is what everyone wants, I'm fine with it. Just thought I'd throw in my vote.

I don't have a problem with supernatural stuff either. I just thought there'd be some progression from normal to fantasy as we reach Freedom's Ocean, not barely two minutes out of port before we even get a chance to talk to one another.

This isn't a mutiny either, we're just voicing some opinions that's all :smile 2:

Yea I am not finding a problem with the kraken or whatever I just feel that it is a very powerful being and all our attacks are simply going by unnoticed. I don't mind playing an underdog but I don't like when my attempted are simply shrugged off the shoulder. I like this rp and I was/am looking forward to other possibilities but I was looking forward to getting to know the other characters and seeing if my own character was spotted as a fraud yet lol . No offense to Naga and all but the Kraken is powerful. Yes that is true. But at the same time rp is fair and you should be showing some signs of weakness.

lol ok you're right, i was thinking it would be a good way to fight/hurt the Kraken... as it seems kind of unbeatable

v.v;; I'm sorry guys, I literally haven't been getting alerts for any of the roleplays I'm in, so I'm catching up to all of them now.

As soon as I'm done reading the posts, I'll get one up of my own.
Er... I see some arguments went down. o-o;;

Why not just try to get along? Everyone has weaknesses, all you need to do is just make it evident. :B

What could help is maybe talking about battle strategies in the OOC? Like if you want to hit someone, type it in the OOC:

"Yo, Your character just tried to kill me, so I was wondering if I could dodge that attack and throw a cat at your character's head, and possible have your eyes scratched out."

See? Not hard right? Simple solutions. n.n;; It's to refrain from godmodding, and will help the roleplay move along more smoothly.

no but honestly dealing with someone with a temper like his is nearly impossible, with everyone posting huge paragraphs that are quite well done (like you, havoc), and he does a tad bit of godmodding, i would say to let him grasp a feel on other lighter RP's until he gets the hang of not being overpowered and can tell the difference and when to take a hit and when not to. im not saying it was good for him to leave or that im happy, but it may have been a better choice then to stay and to keep causing mini arguments

Ah, I see your point. Godmodding is definitely a problem I see here.

But it wouldn't be much of an issue if we could plot things before it happened? The roleplay might move a bit slowly, but things would be much smoother, and possibly raise the entertainment level when roleplaying.

Naga

And just wondering, the island that we supposedly crashed into.... It isn't the "paradise" we're looking for right? o-o;;

Because... well, yeah... That's another form of godmodding. o-o;;

Now, I don't want to get in an argument here, but I vote on you staying. (( Since your character can add some serious twists in the roleplay )) but do you think possibly it'd be better if you would just ask permission before making a change in the roleplay? It would definitely help, and with our input, things might be even better.

Never mind. How is finding an island that isn't paradise godmodding? I don't have this temper when nobody gets mad at me, but that is all you do. I'm leaving. Disregard my last post. Disregard everything that happened with the Kraken.
