The Vet and Criminal JustadashxGuySouvlaki

Silas managed to set up the tent in near useable state, well enough to keep two people dry through not enough not a lot space meaning it was going to be tight fit. He was not sure if he should be glad or disappointed on that thought considering past event but he pushed the thought aside. He took a whiff at himself and recoiled, he smelt of sweat. No wonder she rejected him. He removed his clothes deciding to to take a dip into the lake, he ran forward cannonballing into the lake hoping it would wash away his troubles as well as his dirt. The water was cool so waved his hand around him in a circular motion moving the very atoms of the water to creating energy which generated heat. It became as warm as a bath could and he reveled in it.

Kali was stooped behind a bush watching a rabbit in front of her. Quick as lighting Kali took one of the daggers and threw it at the rabbit. The dagger hit it right in the heart, instant death, no suffering. As soon as Kali stood up Alaric landed on a branch right above her with a large fox squirrel in his talons. Kali laughed, "fine, you win! I have to give you the benefit of the doubt since you had to fly to me." Alaric screeched his agreement.

Kali scooped up her rabbit in the opposite hand that held the sticks doe the fire and headed back to camp with Alaric swooping from branch to branch. Once she got back to camp Kali saw Salis swimming in the lake, she laughed thinking she would join him after she had the stew cooking. Setting up the sticks and getting her magnesium stick out she had a fire going in no time. She gutted and skinned the animals, giving all the entrails to Alaric, who happy accepted them, then started to cut the meat up into little tender strips.

She took out the little silver flat thing out that she had pack at the last minute and put it over the fire to brown the meat. After the meat was brown, which didn't take too long, she carefully removed the pan and meat from the fire and have the pan a few quick twists on the edge, and it formed into a bowl. She then walked over to the lake, got about half a bowl full of water and took it back to the fire. Before she did anything else she made sure the water boiled, killing anything in it, then added the meat and some of the dried veggies they had brought with them. She also added some herbs she had gathered while looking for firewood.

With the stew cooking, Kali rummaged through her pack and pulled out her string bikini. She quickly went behind a tree and changed into it, and made her way out to the lake to join Salis.

"Well that is a fine little bikini you are almost wearing, i approve." He commented watching her enter the lake, his face redden slightly as he moved back and lower his hand and body cover himself." I wish i had the same foresight to get a suit but i am glad i am not that much under dressed in comparison."He began swimming around figuring there was no point doing nothing."Food smells nice. What did you catch?"

Kali shrugged not knowing what to say about the bikini comment. She was never very comfortable with people making comments about her body, good or bad. She just viewed herself as a plain jane, nothing special. Kali giggled as she noticed him backing away, "don't worry, I won't look at you down there... Unless you want me to..." She teased giving him a little wink. She closed her eyes and submerged herself under the water trying to wipe of of the dirt and grime off of her face she was sure was there. Coming back up she wiped the water off her face and shook her head a bit. "Ah, much better," she said as she felt her now clean face. She then closed her eyes and laid back in the water with her arms spread out floating. "I caught a rabbit and that show off bird over there caught a squirrel," she said answering his question, "the stew should be done here in about 20 minutes, so no need to rush."

"I think i made my feeling on that, and you made yours."He commented coming of more coldly then he had intended as her referred to her teasing comment He looked down guiltily and sighing himself for what he though was rude."Sorry, i mean nothing by that pay me no mind. I just need a little more time to rec0ver. I think you are remarkable woman, kali, i rather have you as friend better then nothing at all." As he spoke could help but goggle her slightly as he stretched out as she was bathing. When he realized he was doing that, he shook his he as if trying to shake her effect of him."You enjoying the water? I can make it better.."With a slight hand movement he raised the water temperature slightly and created a jacuzzi affect around her.

"You're fine, I take no offense to it, I understand. You aren't going to lose me as a friend." She spluttered and put her legs back down in the water as he splashed her. "Hey now!" She said as she splashed water back at him, not caring whether or not it hit him or not.

After she wiped the water off her face she sank down in the water up to her chin and grinned, "there, is that better for you?" She giggled and kicked away and started to swim to the other side of the lake. It felt good to be free and open with him. It had been a while since she had truly laughed, especially this much.

"Oh. Running away?"He said cheekily as he lowered himself into the water almost disappearing from view. He swam towards her indirectly getting himself behind her. He took a hold of both her legs and pulled her down into the water. He smirked playfully making a withdrawn to avoid reprisal and surfaced."Your in my element now, can you avoid me here?"

"Oh,"she said after she wiped the water off her face, "so cheating is the game eh? Well I know how to play at the game," she said giving him a mischievous grin. She swam slowly toward him and them swam around him, lightly brushing his arms and legs as she went. The whole time she was swimming around him her eyes did not leave his. When she came around to his front again she was probably about 3" from his face.

She grinned knowing she had disarmed his senses, and leaned back once again and swam off. Kali giggle to herself, she had not had this much fun in the last two years. She couldn't careless if it took them 2 days or two weeks to get to the factory. She didn't want this fun to end. She frowned, isn't that one of the definitions of love? Never wanting to be away from someone? Never wanted their relationship to end?

"Wow...."He managed to say having taken in by her display, grace in her movement in the water, her soft quick touch on his limbs...The teasing way she went close. He splashed some of the water on him as a result trying to snap out of her effect before chuckling finding her giggle infectious."I do like the way you cheat. Even made me splash myself."For that moment there trip was forgotten: no overhanging fear that the police could be baring down on them or worry that this whole trip was for naught. Just the two of them, enjoying themselves on a camping trip and he hoped it would not end. He saw her frown and slowly swam up to her, keeping his hands visible showing he was trying anything."You ok?"

Kali put a smile on, "yeah I am fine, I am just trying to figure out of I am crazier than I thought or not crazy at all." She laughed, "but one thing I do know is that I haven't had so much fun in a while" she dipped her head down into the water again to easily get the strands of hair out of her face that had crawled their way there. When She came back up she slicked down her hair getting most of the water out of it. She then closed her eyes and leaned back and started swimming in a small circle around him. "Love it," she said simply as she let out a small sigh.

"I chose not comment on your craziness as i am afraid i would be honest."He said jokingly keeping his eyes on her as she swam arround him." Though i am glad your are enjoying yourself, i am too immensely. "He looked back out at their make shift camp seeing the stew began to overflow slightly. He also the smell coming of it reminded him he was hungry more so after their brief play." You stay and soak a bit more while i check the food."He made his way to walk out the lake, though he didnt say it the other reason for leaving is he was getting more self conscious about being nude.

Kali laughed at his crazy comment and drifted away so he could get out of the lake in private. Kali heard Alaric squawking and jumping from side to side on the ground as the stew started over and started throwing sparks up. She laughed listening to him knowing Salis would take care of the stew. However After Salis was out of the lake she started to feel the water temperature go down. She wouldn't stay in much longer, especially since the sun was going down, the lake temp would drop even more. But she did want to float and enjoy the moment... For a couple more moments.

"Its fine, Alaric i am getting to it. You must be as hungry as i am." He said as he got out, instantly regretting coming out the warm water into the cooler air as he shivered slightly. He got dressed quickly and just moved his legs and arms abit trying to warm himself up before walking up towards the stew. He sat down next to it and Alaric, giving him a quick stroke to calm it before stirring the pots contents and enjoying the smell. At one point he could help but have a taste of the stew, it was nothing special but pleasant enough considering the circumstances needed to make it."Its ready...Though needs some hot sauce....Then again everything i eat needs hot sauce."

When Salis said the food was ready she slowly got out of the lake. She didn't want to change right off because she didn't want to get her clothes wet. Instead she resided to drying off my the fire as they ate. "Um... Well crap..." She said thinking about the stuff she packed. She pulled out another spoon from her pack and looked at Salis, "well... I packed two spoons but I didn't pack any other kinds of utensils..." She carefully removed the bowl from the fire and sat it on the log next to Salis but on the opposite side of Alaric, "You okay with just sharing out of the soup bowl?" She asked as she sat down on the other side of the bowl, a little closer to the fire.

Alaric coo'd and hopped over to Kali and settled down beside her cooing. Kali rolled her eyes, "I haven't forgotten you. You will get your fair share." She said ruffling the feathers on top of his head.

"No worries, i dont see an issue."He said calmly getting one of the spoon and starting to eat."You are ok, dressed like that? The temperature is dropping, even with the fire it might get a bit nippy." He said with genuine concern."But cant have you catching snuffles or something now either....You know what, just for my own peace of mind" He took of his shirt revealing a tshirt he wore underneath, he draped the shirt over her."It will also soak up some of the water."

"Thank you," she said accepting the shirt though there was really no need, her back had already started to get warm and dry from the fire. "I will change as soon as I am dry. I would probably catch my death out here is I didn't but I didn't want to get either pair or my clothes wet." She said as she took a bite of the stew and gave a piece of the meat to Alaric, who of course, happily accepted the meal. "It's nothing special but it will keep us from going hungry," she said getting another spoonful. "And even if we did run out of veggies we can still always get meat." She looked around and saw the sun was hanging pretty low on the horizon, and the sky was already turning a bring shade of pink, "going to be a beautiful sunset, she said watching the sun sink for a few moments as she chewed the stew in her mouth.

"Yeah it is. Credit to nature, you dont get view like this in the city. Maybe will get to see more stair out here as well, you cant see them well due to the light poluttion"He said remembering an old hobby he used to have. He took another spoonful of food. "Maybe its because i am hungry but thing it not half bad. Kinda grows on you." He throw a piece of meat at Alaric as well."What do you think buddy?"

Kali smiled looking to the sky, she had been out here before and knew the breath taking view. "You have no idea, the stars are so clear out here that it looks like one of this high definition photographs. You can see the Milky Way as plain as day. Absolutely beautiful."

When he changed the subject to the food Kali just rolled her eyes. "That food is almost terrible. Very little flavor... If I had a few more seasonings it would be one hundred times better. That," she pointed to the pot, "is just tolerable and you asking a bird," she jabbed a thumb at Alaric with a piece of the meat hanging out of his mouth, "that is used to raw meat is not helping your case." Kali laughed and rubbed her arms.

"I am dry for the most part, be right back.." She went over to her bag and grabbed the t-shirt she packed. She slipped off behind a tree, took off her bikini top and put the tee on. It was fairly large on her almost looking like a mini skirt. She always took this shirt with her camping because of the many uses it had, just because it was extra big. She wadded her top up and put it back into her back and went to sit with Salis again.

"I hope you don't mind if I sleep like this. I hate sleeping in jeans, they are so uncomfortable. But if it would make you feel more comfortable I will put a pair on." She said not wanting to put him in a situation he wouldn't like. The way he erected the tent looked like there wasn't a lot of room inside, so they would be sleeping pretty close together.

"You are really hard to compliment. Do you know that?"He said with a slight smirk at her reaction to his comments on her cooking. "It looks a tad silly and leaves more to the imagination then the previous outfit but i have no issue with your choice of clothing." He added watching her as she sat next to him, it was strange she caught his eye the same as her in her bikini did. He wondered if it was her in specific clothing that attracted him or just her in general. He looked back at the tent as he remembered their sleeping arrangement."If this arrangement bothers you you can always get the tent and i will just rest up on one of the trees i dont mind."He gave her the option to sound polite but he already made his mind he wouldn't trouble her. He didn't sleep enough to warrant a tent anyway.

"Tell ya what, when I actually cook, then you can compliment it, but until then, the food is just bleh." She laughed, if he thought this was decent cooking he hadn't had a good meal in a while. Watching Alaric tugging at the meat between his talons Kali smiled and took the other end of the meat and started pulling on it. This started a friendly game of tug of war, "I have no issue with the sleeping arrangement and I will now have you sleeping in a cold tree. That's just plan silly and selfish if I asked you to do that," Kali let go of the meat which sent Alaric on his back. Getting up he gave out an indignant screech, picked up the meat, hopped down from the log and over to the other end of the log on the other side of Salis. Kali raised her eyebrow, "well aren't you a little trader," she said this in a fake harsh tone. Alaric just ignored her and started tearing at the meat again.

"Aww, Thank for the vote of confidence Aleric, you old turncoat." Silas said laughing reaching his hand to stroke him but Alaric screetch at him believing to be after his piece of meat."Easy...Easy, buddy....I guess i spoke too soon. Heh."Alaric calmed and returned to his piece of meat. "I wish i had him around my brother was stilling my food when i was a kid. As for bedding, well i had to give you the option for courtesy sake. Tomorrow dont say i didn't give you the option."He looked up at the sky as the last bit of sun disappeared and the stars gradually began to appear. "Wow, you weren't kidding...."

Kali laughed "I don't know about that, he probably would have taken your food away from yours as well as your bothers." With another soft laugh she turned her head up looking at the stars with him. "No, I wasn't." She whispered almost as a sigh. "Give it a few more minutes and it will be even grander once the sun's rays are completely hidden." She got off the log and laid down on the ground next to it with her hands behind her head so she could look at the stars much easier.

((I am sorry it took me so long to reply, I was sick this past weekend and am finally feeling better... I didn't feel like doing anything this past weekend.))

(Coincidentally had a similar weekend so no worries things happen. ;-))

He kept quite for a little bit as if waiting for her prediction about the night sky to become real. It did and only prevented him from speaking even longer, though in truth he didnt know what else to speak of. He figured it was only natural, they just spend an entire day together and bit together, the talk would peek sometime until something triggers it again. Though that was no complaint the quite was comforting for once, when compared to other times he spend in pavement in the city.
