A notion that was dejected by everyone else, the premise that such a beautiful monstrosity could bring a catalyst that would expeditiously alter the fabric of our conventional reality forever. The Ripple. The Universe had to be filled with all kinds of life, right? Some more advanced than others, some more aware, more kind, more compassionate, and some... more perilous. Vile. Pained. Tarnished, and in turmoil. For eons humanity have observed the universe in all its glory, and all its crusades. The time of God and of like gods had not been long forgotten, the gods among the mortalkind who act as though they themselves are the rulers and defilers of their own fates. The things we don't know that we don't know that have constantly driven the life force of the cosmos for billions of years, but now... seemingly a tiny speck in time and space, things were said to be beginning to shift. The course is becoming more and more astray as we become nothing more than a conflux of anomaly and defiance of convention. To be fair, they did say everything would change. Something was disrupting the balance of reality, and whatever it was... it was monumental, felt by the lives of trillions, and even among the unseen and non-proven. However, destiny always arrives, and with it, the providence of a perfect machination of purpose. There are some of us among the universe that heed these calls of greater influence, whether they choose to or not. People & individuals once obscured to their world will now become a part of something bigger. Fate will align that potential together in a mix and sense of calling, one that will need to be fulfilled in order to correct the balance of life as we knew it. This is who this message is directed towards. You. Who's hearing this broadcast, who's hearing this message through whatever channel... the change is here, and I think there's some of you who know what I'm talking about. The spectacles of said change, the ones of beyond. I need you, the world needs you to be the beacon of the change. Reality has been flipped upside down, and we don't know how, nor why... but the falsely believed was now true, and the truth wasn't as secure as we thought. So please... if there's anyone out there that can bring this reality to the light, find us. Save us."

It came from nothing, nowhere. But it affected everything.
This was the sky, all across the world when it happened. No one will ever forget it, it's seared into our brains like the light that breached our eyes.
It came like an unwavering force of destiny. No one was prepared. The Ripple. The unknown cataclysm that appeared literally from nowhere and brought with it a surge of change in the very nature of causality. Science didn't have an answer for it, and Magic couldn't justify it. All that it was, was known by no one. And so, the chaos and harmony of the beautiful light brought with it an ushering of permanence that altered the fabric of conventional reality for mankind. It was now a premise to behold the wonders of the divine now. Did it originate from the gods? From THE God? Was it perhaps an outburst of energy from another dimension? A paradox in science of spacetime? The simple answer is: Unknown. It came just as fast as it occurred and disappeared.
But that didn't mean that it didn't leave anything behind. The burst of energy had unbeknownst to the world, created a catalyst in the very atomic and particulars of the human genome, as well as various other unexplained circumstances that seemed to defy the code of reality altogether... and in turn, from the world recovering from this gravely traumatic and massive event, a new actuality was born with the world none the wiser. But that too, like the surge of brilliant energy that cascaded the planet... would change. It was naive to believe such a catalyst wouldn't serve to alter life and instance on Earth as we knew it, and that had to include mankind. Humans. Us. You. There are those who were nigh unaffected whatsoever, nothing more than some stress and emotional shock that would heal with time.
But we all know that's not what's being referred to. There are also those, who for better or for worse became a machination to a greater mystery and purpose. The ones that the Ripple touched and changed their fundamental essence of soul, mind, heart, and body. That created them into beings just as mysterious and greater as the surge of unknown force itself. Superones, altered, the cosmically engineered, etc. Were they too now real? Or were they just a figment of something much too deep and unreachable to understand. All that is known now, is that in this new world... this new universe of wonder and intrigue... Earth will be called to rise to the stand of the incomprehensible. The impossible was now the new norm.
What fate it would bring now, following the amassed alteration of reality, was now in their hands.

Okay! So if you've read a little about the origin lore and you're still here, WELCOME! This RP is just as you've read, I'm creating a Superhero/Superpowered Universe where WE get to create the lore and characters around it! I think this would be a dope departure from just following Marvel, DC, or other fandom based projects and would give us the chance to keep those same interesting elements, while creating a fresh story and universe for us to explore for ourselves! In case there are those who didn't fully grasp the plot of this RP, the catalyst of an unknown energy force dubbed The Ripple appears and surges through Earth, giving some of the population vast and extraordinary capabilities. HOWEVER, this catalyst was also a reality check that perhaps the unknown and beyond are real as well, which would give cause and reason to explore and invite entities from everything ranging from the magic & mystical, to the divine, and beyond! This way people have the choice to decide what type of character and story they want to attribute to their abilities and skills.
Now with that being said, I've also developed a system to limit people from being too overly powered and to give a little nuance to their characters. To those who've RP'd with me before they know that I'll choose nuance and detail over a "cool and powerful" type of character every single time. I'd rather take the demi-god who's insecure about themselves and identity as opposed to the demi-god who has 3 godly tier powers and serves to be the Superman-like figure that abstains from any sort of character flaw. Hopefully this interest check draws diverse and various people that can honor those things while still having the absolute freedom to explore and develop a character they believe is unique and interesting to this OC universe!
Some Ground Points:
+ Characters are free to one Core Power, this core power is what makes them unique and stands apart from any other character. (Telekinesis, Metal Control, Animal Transform, etc.)
+ Characters will be limited to three Enhancements, these are abilities that are commonly known to assist or support the Core Power (Enhanced Strength, Enhanced Reflexes, etc.)
+ I will provide the list of Enhancements during the CS Phase, but you must find/create a Core Power on your own.
+ Characters will be categorized into Categories to better describe and specialize their abilities. There are currently eleven Categories. They are: Tech, Elemental, Nature, Mental, Sorcery, Atomic, Celestial, Munitions, Alien/Cosmic, Quantum, and Emotional. These will be described in depth during CS Phase.
++ My character will be a Quantum based character from the Categories above.
+ I will NOT take more than one of each Category for the RP, once I accept someone with said Category, they're locked in. Alien/Cosmic may be the exception.
+ Also, this is NOT first come first serve, I will be looking for the most engaging, nuanced, and fleshed out characters to accept into the RP.
+ I already have the Villain of the first arc set, so don't inquire about villain roles unless you're okay with playing support.
+ Word of advice: Create a power around a character, not the other way around. Build your character's psychological, emotional, mental, spiritual, and physical templates up first, and you'll be surprised at how clear a Core Power would be suited for them becomes.
+ The goal is to truly build a shared universe, with future spin off RP's, crossovers, world building, etc. If anyone loves the idea of that or that sense of long term / longevity play, then this is for YOU!
