Multiple Settings The uploaded life

You push the black button and part of the nearby wall lifts up to reveal a hidden staircase.

You get up off of your throne and you go down the hidden staircase. The staircase is long and narrow, the wall closes back down after a few seconds. Once you get to the bottom of it, there it is, a monitoring centre for your ministry of internal affairs. Hundreds of holograph projections of Belgrade survailence camera feeds in all sorts of places from convenience stores to public busses. A single high capacity android is connected to all the survailence cams, there's also cybernetic humans monitoring emails of suspect or dangerous individuals. You don't know wheather to be alarmed or intrigued. At the very end of the hidden room lies what used to be the castle dungeon, but more ditrubingly was that people were still being held within the rusting iorn bars. The warden for this dungeon greets "hello, your majesty, what brings you down here"

"I'm just seeing that your doing your job properly" you say "Of course your majesty, it's tricky work managing the Beli Dvor federal prison." You reply "I bet it is trying to keep the most dangerous people of Serbia in line" you go down beside the cells and you see all sorts of intimidating faces chained up to the wall in their Orange jumpsuits. There are two more corridors, one leading upward, the other leading downward and just as you reach the corridors, you hear "his highness must be tamed, for his crown is the biggest circus in all of Europe!"


What will you do


1. Investigate where the comment came from


2. Go through the upward corridor ignoring the comment


3. Go through the downward corridor ignoring the comment
 
You turn around and say with a growl in your voice "Who dares insault the king, it is an act of treason and shall be punished accordingly you walk back down the dungeon cells bearing your teeth as a means of indimidation "Now saying those things away from me is fine, but not in my presence and when I'm not expecting it!" You begin to growl as you turn back around at the end of the dungeon cells untill you see a light elf with a slight grin on his face "Was it you?" You ask and the elf just shuddered "Be honest in the presence of your king, lies will only make things worse!" The elf gulps and says "Y-yes your majesty it was me" You look at his prison number and say "Take 34569 to solitary!" The wardens do exactly as you tell them, opening up the Elf's cell, unchanging him from the wall and manhandling him to the upward corridor, where all the solitary cells reside. "And if anyone makes a remark like that again, you're going with him without further question!" 


What will you do next?


1. Follow the warden to the upward corridor


2. See what's at the downward corridor
 
You move downward to the corridor and you see a more modern looking dungeon, with walls of white plaster not stone. It was three levels high chocked with over 80 federal prisoners and moved down to the end of a hallway., there's iorn stairs leading down to the different levels of the prison as cameras are posted everywhere within the prison. You look around suprised at the difference of the lower levels from the upper one, you walk to the end up the hall and there's three doors in the back, one leading to the executioner, the other leading to the mess hall and another leading to the gym and showers.


what will you do now?


1. Fly down to level one of the prison


2. Go back upwards


3. Inspect the executioner's chaimber


4. Go to the mess hall


5. Inspect the condition of the dungeon's athletics


6. Look for a more direct exit
 
You go through the door leading to the gym and there is a direct hallway that went to the gym, where no one was at any of the workout stations. There were barbells, bench presses and other excersize equipment. It was like being in a gym, but without any windows for it was twenty feet underground. The showers were also vacant and lacked curtains. The place seemed clean, you walk back to the excersize equipmentand you notice two hallways. One leads straight to the third level, the other has a staircase leading to levels two and one.

You go straight back to level three and you look at the cells on the right hand side, the inmates weren't chained to the walls, but still had a lone jail cell. One of the wardens greet while patrolling "greetings your majesty" you say "greetings" in return. You go to the back of the hallway where two hallways one leading to the upper dungeon, the other leading to an elevator going to the exit of the prison.

"Let's get out of here" Your inner voice says "No," you say "We need to go back to the dungeon!" Your innervoiceargues "But Ben, don't you want or see what your palace looks like from the outside!" "No!" You say "I will not let you control me!" The prisoners look at you amused for it was weird for them to see the king arguing with himself so violently. They'd expect that out of an inmate who's been in solitary, not his highness the king! You continue to violently argument even to claw at the flexglass on your head. "Fuck this noise!" You roar "Let's just exit the prison, okay!" And you storm off to the elevator as two guards with assault rifles press the up elevator button for their king, the elevator opens and there's another guard inside the elevator "take me to ground level" you say and next thing you know the elevator opens up to a long hallway that leads to the outside. You walk through the hallway going outside. You are now Oh the opposite side of an appartment across the sreet of your royal compound, what will you do?


1. fly around Belgrade


2. Go across the street and greet your subjects


3. Fly back into the woods of your royal compound
 
You walk across the street to walk on the same sidewalk your subjects use to get to the bus stop. Some parts of the road didn't even have a sidewalk, but you remember that Serbia is kind of a poor country, so this isn't surprising, what was surprising was how cold it was, it was a brisk 32 degrees farenhieght and there was light snowflakes, the road wan't icy, but snow still draped the roofs of buildings and frost was all over the wall of your royal complex, You see the gate to your royal complex in the distance and an appartment building just across the street with bus stops on either side, you see people in large coats shiver beneath the bus shelter, there were few cars in the parking lot as you get up to the bus station and you casually greet "hey" the man leaning against the bus stop sign. The man nods before saying in surprise "Sir?!"

1. "Yep, it's old king Boris"

3. "I may be the king, but I'm just like you"


4. "No need for titles"


5. "Yes, of course it's me"
 
"No need for the titles, just call me your highness, or Boris" The man is at a loss for words, he is completely star struck by the presence of his king. He barely knows what to say, so he ends up walking to the opposite side of the bench to lean against the bus stop sight looking at you with wide eyes. You walk in front of the bus stop and the three people on the bench look at you with wide eyes "Your highness!?" A human woman says as the other two also become star struck in the presence of the king. "Yes, I just wanted to stop by and say hello" you say as two of your subjects, one a dwarf, the other a human take pictures with you. You like the attention, but you ask "How are you doing" The dwarf says "I'm d-doing fine your higness" the human said "I-I was late for work, but it was worth seeing you here, your Majesty"

"Y'know I always like to see my subjects alive and well" you say "Oh I bet" the man said leaning against the sign "and it also shouldn't be a surprise given my castle gates are right on the opposite side of this bus stop" you reply "Given that Christmas is in a week, I have to wonder, how do royalty celebrate Christmas?"

1. We have a big service in the royal chapel for our knights and castle guards


2. We decorate the banquet hall and put a giant christmas tree in the lobby
 
"You see, inside the courtyard we have a royal chapel where the patron saint gives a Christmas Eve service to the Knights, castle guards and the royal family. He tells us about the nativity of Jesus Christ and how the gifts we give are in commemoration of god's gift to the Virgin Mary. We sing carols in the church and give our communion to the church" the woman says "That sounds exactly like what my church does except we have a bishop not a saint" The dwarf said "I bet with all the money you have you probably give nice things"
