you're gonna go far, kid
As their roles and who would go up against who was listed off by Namjoon, Seokjin gazed back out at the other team, his eyes narrowing. Lisa... that was familiar. She was the girl who had been staring at him, wasn't she? Well, this would be fun; Jin had been up against a number of people before of varying powers, and though she may be a girl, he had no intentions of losing today. Even having to work together with Bangtan wouldn't cause them to lose this match and he would make sure of it. Biting his lip, he returned his attention from their opponents to level Namjoon with a serious gaze, trying to set aside any hard feelings for the other group just for the sake of the class. For cooperation, as Namjoon had offered. He could do that, but he hoped they wouldn't expect him to remain so civil afterwards.
Seokjin nodded, along with Hoseok, at the prospect of having to jump in and help Taehyung. Right, he could do that. The youngest was bouncing on the tips of his toes, seeming rather eager for what was ahead of them, and Seokjin was almost tempted to sling his free arm around his shoulders to keep him from bouncing so much. Almost.
With his responsibilities under his belt, Seokjin was already considering ways of getting the girl to reveal if she had the gem or not. Of course, it might be hard, considering she would be invisible. Seokjin's powers were quite nice and quite powerful when they were able to work. See, that was the thing; every person had at least one weakness when it came to wielding their powers. Limits that kept them from a complete potential, which was for the best; he could only imagine what would happen if villains were so powerful they destroyed whole cities and countries so easily.
Seokjin's weakness came in the form of being heard; if someone couldn't hear his demand, or if it became distorted in some way, it became invalid. Such as Yoongi's earbuds; there was no way for Seokjin to be able to control him unless he pulled them out, simply due to not being heard. The person had to be in range. If he couldn't make sure she could hear him, then it would get harder for her to reveal her location and make her spill who had the gem.
Their five minutes was up in a flash, making it feel like they had just gathered together when their teachers had called for them to gather up. Seokjin let the arm that had been wrapped around Jungkook drop, though he sent a wink in the youngest's direction.
"You got this, kid." After all, he was the golden maknae; surely he would go up against Jennie just fine. He turned to Hoseok and sent him a wink as well, grinning at the younger man who smiled a bit back with a roll of his eyes. Had to keep morale up after the drama that had gone down just a few minutes prior, after all.
He looked back at BPEX1, eyes seeking for the young member who would be his target. Her eyes were locked on him, too, making him highly suspicious that he was her target, too. Well, all the more fun this should be, he thought to himself with a hint of a smirk.
Mr. Jung snapped his fingers and immediately Lisa was in motion, her body disappearing in moments as she ran forward. Seokjin knew he would be easy to see, just as tall or taller than the others of his group, so using them to disappear behind himself was useless. She could have been anywhere in the gym, and with the sounds coming from around him, it wouldn't be easy to just yell for her to show up. "Come out, come out," he muttered, rushing past Jimin who had started to retreat to the side, his gaze trained on the healer of the other group who had started to do the same thing. Out of the way, the healers would be out of harm's way. He looked for just a few seconds too long at the other team's healer, his strides quick as he tried to cross the gym's floor, when something unknown came out of nowhere and tripped him. Certainly he didn't trip over the floor; this had been above the floor.
He let himself fall to the floor rather than catching himself, immediately rolling over and looking up where he suspected the invisible thing to have come from. "Show yourself!" he said in the powerful tone he used when using his power.
Within seconds the light-haired girl was above him, looking rather pleased at having watched him take a tumble to the floor.
"Sorry for tripping you," she said, though she didn't look so sorry. In fact, the happy-go-lucky expression he always saw her with in the halls was gone and replaced with one of determination, of excitement, and showed more than a young girl eager to learn. No, she was clearly in some sort of mission mode, and she was determined to win. "If you have the gem, though, I'll gladly take it off your hands." She bent down, likely to try and search for where he could have hidden the gem, but he was quick to scramble away and to his feet with a defensive stance.
"No, no. That's alright. It's quite safe where it is," Seokjin said, wiggling his fingers as he looked at her with a challenging gaze of his own. Clearly she was looking for it on him, and as long as he could keep her distracted for the rest of the ten minutes playing cat and mouse, then she might suspect him of having it if he acted a little too smug and like it really was hidden on his person. "If you want it, you'll have to do better than that. Though, I would like to know-" But before he could demand her to reveal the location of their own gem, she was invisible again and gone- causing him to curse. Time to play cat again and find where that little brat had run off to this time- hopefully without ending up on the floor this time.

Jimin had been quick to leave the action to the others. After all, he wasn't going to be of much use in the department of fighting, but he was always observant. He watched as a bit of chaos began as people spread out or immediately launched themselves at their targets; he, on the other hand, took Namjoon's role for him to watch Jisoo, who had quickly run off to the side to watch. She was eagerly watching everyone face off, quite unaware of anything that was around her, herself. Her focus was primarily on the younger members of her own group and she got excited, his gaze snapping to what it might be. Seokjin was on the ground, Lisa standing above him, and he realized that was probably the reason for her excitement.
She really wasn't paying any attention, too focused on the fighting happening in the center of the arena.
He knew it would be a bad idea to go up to her, to try and wrangle the gem away from her if she really had it; her team might come after him and it would throw the whole plan out of balance if he tried to sneak up on the other healer. On the other hand, she was wide open, not paying any sort of attention.
No, no. He had to focus first and foremost on being a look out, and equally as important, the plan he and Taehyung were trying to put into motion. If Jisoo started to show signs that she had the gem, then he would be quick to get one of the hyungs' attention (primarily Yoongi or Seokjin) or, if all else failed, get it himself.

As soon as they were set free, Taehyung disappeared from where he'd been standing among the others to the other side of the gym; the one that was the side their opponents had started on. None of them had realized he had disappeared quite yet, and he crouched down to take that moment of surprise to watch the others. He was nearly vibrating with excitement at this game, though everyone was taking it far too serious, he thought to himself. He could see the looks of tension on everyone else's expressions. Games were fun.
One of them turned around. Ah! Wasn't that Kai? The other man seemed to recognize him, pointing in his direction as he spoke something to one of the other guys beside him. Taehyung grinned, noticing the Kai was getting ready to teleport his way. With what was genuinely an innocent wave in the other man's direction, he didn't see the look of anger cross Kai's face. He didn't realize that he had made him think that Taehyung was mocking him. He didn't realize that he had just amplified Kai's competitive streak. After all, the older man was forced to work together with his ex, which was humiliating enough, so to have Taehyung acting as he was rubbed salt in the wound.
Taehyung appeared beside Jimin, who startled just a bit when he appeared. "Aish, Tae- that never fails to scare me-"
But as soon as Taehyung was there, he disappeared and in his place was Kai, which made Jimin jerk back with a yelp for real that time. Kai blinked, noticing it was Jimin that he had appeared by. "Jiminie," he said, though the tone of his voice indicated that he really wasn't in the mood to be friendly at the moment. Jimin raised a hand slightly in greeting, though still a bit surprised by the sudden entrance, but Kai barely paid him mind as he spun back around to look for where Taehyung his disappeared to that time around. With a snap of his fingers, he was disappearing, showing up in front of Taehyung.
Before his outstretched hand could grab the front of Taehyung's shirt, the younger man was gone once again, appearing at the complete opposite corner. It was fun, like a game of tag, Taehyung decided. Yeah, a lot of fun.

Honestly, Hoseok was feeling pretty good about his role. He, along with Jungkook, were more well-suited for physical tasks in their group when it came to their powers. With Hoseok's power, as well as his background in dancing, it had come as no surprise that he could be a tricky individual to fight. In fact, all three of their members were strong in the physical sense; Jungkook was nicknamed a ‘muscle pig’ with how much he worked out. He could huff around people like it was no problem with muscles that contrasted that baby face of his. Jin, though not as built as Kook was becoming, had an endurance that rivaled Jungkook's. Still a strong individual, but with his powers, he preferred to leave the dirty work to those who were more well-suited for it.
Hoseok was a mix of both. Strong but high in endurance, though not like the other two. Where he was just about average or above in those two categories, he was a professional in the category of agility. Dodging and moving around was his strong suit by a landslide. With dancer's feet, he was the type of person to quite literally dance around others, ensuring that he wouldn't get caught in a trap or a blast of power. It was quite useful.
Of course, there was the whole 'lack of confidence' aspect to deal with... but this wasn't a real fight. It was an exercise for class, and he wasn't facing down real villains who wanted to kill him. With that in mind, he wasn't nearly as nervous as he might have been, which was relieving.
And it was useful as he saw Kai turn toward Taehyung, tugging at Suho's sleeve to point Tae out. No, they both weren't going to go after him. Suho was his target anyways. He ran forward, watching as Suho prepared a ball of water in his hands to send toward Taehyung. Not on his watch, he wasn't.
Sprinting forward, he bent himself to be able to wrap around Suho's feet as he tried to step forward, tried to attack Tae. The water ball in his hands trembled as he lost focus and fell, down onto his pant legs and Hoseok who was wrapped around him. He squeaked as the water came down before unwrapping himself and rolling over, into the puddle around them, and stood up. "Aw, man! I have to go to class drenched like this next period," he mumbled more to himself than Suho. His fault for wrapping around the other man anyways.
Suho huffed, half out of laughter and half out of frustration at being stopped. "Your fault for wrapping around my feet," he said, shrugging. "Now, please, if you'd get out of my way-" More water appeared in his hands, ready to get rid of Hoseok. It surged forward at him but Hoseok was quick to dodge it, stretching to the side to miss the newest attack. Instead, his arms stretched out to grab Suho's arms, preventing them from being able to conjure up anything else while keeping a safe distance.
With a huff, Suho was quick to try and tug his arms away, but Hoseok's fingers started to wrap themselves around, almost like cuffs. Startled, Suho asked, "Is that even able to happen? That looks gross and kind of terrifying."
Hoseok laughed, and though he was concentrated on trying not to let Suho get away, he shrugged. "I guess. You get used to it after a while."
Suho hummed, looking genuinely intrigued for a few moments before his arms started to become wet. Squeamish, Hoseok jerked back with another rather high-pitched squeak, his arms returning to their original length. "Oh, that was not-!" He was blasted with water before he could finish, making him cough and sputter and look up to see Suho start running the other direction. "Hey, no, wait!" Hoseok sprinted after him, leaving a trail of water behind him as he ran, trying to shove his wet hair out of his face to concentrate.
Seokjin nodded, along with Hoseok, at the prospect of having to jump in and help Taehyung. Right, he could do that.
