In an alternate history of which the cold war ended with the disestablishment of the major world powers, the USA and USSR, and the singular world power annexed or otherwise controls everything. without foreign threat, domestic policy is the only focus of the government, and focus it does. The government born out of the ashes of the old world order is known colloquial as The Unilateral but is officially the unilateral union of earth's peoples and lands. This authoritarian state values nothing but the upkeep of the nation and the suppression of the subjects, much to the joy of the fanatical and ideologically driven politicians that rule; these politicians are always at each other's throats, constantly using their power to work against one another in a horrid struggle for power.
As of the year 2023, the Unilateral is formed in such a way:
The Leader
is the man whom lead this revolution out of an ideological frenzy for a unified earth. now, at the age of 97, he only steps into politics to keep the government from completely falling apart. critique of him in any way is a death sentence that any opponents will take advantage of at any point. He is the end all be all.
The College of the Leader
is the committee comprised of the leaders of the main factions within The Unilateral. with the waning power of The Leader it holds almost sole political power. Its members are;
The Secretary of the Interior
is the deputy-chief of the Bureau of the Interior, the Minister of the Interior is The Leader. The Secretary acts in the leader's stead as the leader and order of the College.
The Minister of Security
Is the Minister who controls all protection forces. Police, Fire fighters, EMTs, etc. etc.
The Minister of Exterior
The Minister of the Exterior, prior to the global domination of The Unilateral, would deal with foreign affairs and the armed forces. now he just upholds the archaic yet still grotesquely strong armed forces of The Unilateral.
The Minister of Justice
Is the Minister who controls what becomes and how law is prepared, he controls the courts, and law books. handing the handling off to the police and military police respectively.
The Minister of Truth
Is the main ideological force that determines how good members of the society think, act, and communicate.
The Minister of Economics
The person who controls all facets of the economic corridor, supply lines, taxes, business, etc.
All of these people have unmatched power, aside from the idle Leader, and the only checks on the powers of each individual is how much influence they can muster in comparison to their adversaries. who will control the nation!
