Unrelated side note but intelligent creation of the races wouldn't rule out evolution happening once the races existed.

Well, we'd have to define our terms. 'Evolution' can mean anything as small as adaptation through natural selection, all the way up to abiogenesis and all of the resorting biodiversity diverging from the first life form, depending on the person using it. A lot of settings with intelligent creation already do include things that can be considered evolution- an initial elf race splits into dark elves in the desert, wood elves in the forests, and high elves on the plains. Humans split into pale-skinned northmen and swarthy dunefolk, etc.Avouleance said:
