The Tides of Chaos- Roleplay

OOC
Here
"Oookay," says Cassie.

Henry shakes his head. "Do you remember why you were doing that?"

“Wanted heat. There isnt very much insulation out here”

Henry nods. "Yeah, that makes more sense. See, this is the problem with banning magic. Eventually, society's gonna break down."

“I guess I should have listened to their warnings” he says, wincing.

Henry shrugs. "Maybe. Not much we can do about it now, though, except try to figure out what happened."

“it’s pretty simple.” A bystander says. “He didn’t listen, and got burned”

“There needs to be punishment for using magic. It’s far too dangerous”

"Perhaps if we don't figure this out and the town transitions back to non-magic tech," says Henry. "As it is right now, I don't see a blanket ban being helpful. Or did you forget that farmers need it to grow food, we need it for clean water? How are people going to get to work? I suppose you didn't think of that, did you." His tone turns a little icy at the last part, but then he calms down. "Sorry. Look, the point is, right now, people need it to survive."

"Henry's right!" says Cassie. "Magic is good!"

"I didn't say that," says Henry. "But we need to consider the practical consequences."

“I guess you’re right… but we do need to prioritize making magic unnecessary.”

"I agree," says Henry, "and we also need to figure out why this is happening in the first place."

"Maybe the reason it's happening is that Magic got its peanut butter sandwich stolen, so it's grumpy and taking it out on everyone!" says Cassie.

"That makes literally no sense," says Henry, flatly.

“Let’s wait for that meeting in (idk how many days I have short term memory loss AHHH) days”

The man says “do any of you know how to start a anamig (their version of muggle) fire?”

Henry nods. "Yup. Starting a fire without magic isn’t too hard if you’ve got the right materials. You’ll need some dry wood, something to act as tinder, and a way to spark or ignite it. If you’ve got flint and steel, it’s pretty straightforward."

the man grabs what you said. “Can you show me how?”

Henry nods. “Sure, I’ll show you.” He kneels by the pile of wood and begins arranging it properly.

“First, you need to make a fire structure. You want to start small, so use some dry tinder. Things like dry grass, twigs, or shredded bark work great. If you’ve got paper, even better.” He gathers some small, dry materials and arranges them in a pile at the center of the wood.

“Next, place small sticks—kindling—around it in a teepee shape. These will catch fire easily and help the larger logs ignite.” He demonstrates, stacking the sticks carefully.

“Now, here’s the tricky part: starting the spark. If you’ve got flint and steel, you strike them together to create sparks. Aim the sparks onto the tinder until it catches fire. If you don’t have that, you can try rubbing sticks together, but that’s harder and takes time.”

He picks up a small rock and a piece of steel, striking them together a few times until a spark lands on the tinder. Gently blowing on the embers, Henry watches as the tinder begins to smolder and then bursts into a small flame.

“Once it’s burning, slowly add larger sticks and logs. Don’t smother it; let the fire breathe.”

Cassie grins. “See? Who needs magic when you’ve got survival skills?”

Henry nods but remains thoughtful. “This’ll help for now, but we still need answers about what’s going on with magic.”

“Lot easier to just use magic. I think there’s a meeting tomorrow over there” points to the place the meeting is happening

"Three days from now, the notice said," says Henry. "And yeah, magic's easier to use. That's kinda why the Information Age came to an end. But it seems like Alantïk will have to downgrade to Information Age technology now."

"By the way, I didn't catch your name," Henry says.

“John Beck” (he was nameless I did not expect you to talk to the MAIN SOURCE OF ATTENTION I AM SO BAD AT THIS AH)

"Right, well, you definitely need to see a doctor..." says Henry. "Only problem is, well, you know, the hospital. I can take you to a nearby town, though."

“Ok. I think Rauna has one using anamig healing”

"Okay!" says Cassie. "Where's she?"

“Rauna? It’s north of here” he points roughly north
