Pandora's
Box

♡coded by uxie♡

Below is a description of the prior set-up and events of the roleplay, Pandora's Box. Of course, given some of us are from this roleplay, I've tried not to give away too much as it still is ongoing.

Pandora's Box ⁂
The project began as a way to cope with the person they all lost. Then, it turned into an obsession. A blood-thirst to not only make Egress pay for its transgressions against the trio known as Ramiel, Verona, and Cleio, but also for all its crimes. Their planning and attempts to unveil The Fallen 30 Experiments resulted in discovering not only how the Wolfsbane virus came to be, but also much of the current spendings and incomes by the Egress Empire, particularly through use of the prison system. For the three privileged descendants of the Egress gentry, this came as a shock and only bolded their passion. The project was dubbed Pandora’s Box as a result of these discoveries.

The Origins
Through their insurmountable access to knowledge, the three learned how to hack through simply finding the right literature. Furthermore, Verona utilized their supreme intellect to garner enough of an understanding to teach the other two, resulting in a hastened learning curve. After almost seven years, they mastered a majority of the most common coding languages, along with beginning the initial stages of their plans.

The Plan
Pandora’s Box sought one thing: revenge. The details are slippery, without a need to be revealed as much of it didn’t go according to The Plan. Instead, all one needs to know is this: Pandora’s Box, in their final act before everything went to shit, pulled off the single greatest stock-market crash Egress has ever seen, destroying many and harming all. It wasn’t their intention, necessarily, but little did they know the Empire stood on such wobbly legs. As a result, the Empire has fallen into the Great Recession and Pandora is now on the run, having found their way just south in Rass. Madame Georgiette offered them a safe-haven via an encoded message by the Tower of Babel, as though they knew exactly what was about to happen.

The Signature
Every successful hack ended in the same fashion: a black screen with old-style Command Prompt font across the middle. Instead of green, the text is a pastel blue. It reads as follows:

The Box is open. Reckoning is nigh.

You have been weighed.
You have been measured.
And you have been found wanting.

See you soon,
Pandora’s Box

The Hunters
They wanted to catch the biggest hit ever, Pandora’s Box. Put their names in the history books and run off with more money than they’d ever seen. They discovered Pandora’s Box was hiding amongst the elite of Lazarus Alley once Darcy discovered a data leak while examining the work of their first hack, one which crashed the stock market for two days (oh how beginnings and ending always seem to sound the same…). While normally Pandora’s Box was good about hiding their location, there was a slip-up with the first hack, a mistake at the hands of an overzealous Ramiel. While it didn’t release their exact location, the IP address was linked to the general area. This pointed them in the right direction, especially since no other location information was devised from their other hacks, and not even the Empire itself discovered the leak, implying it was well-hidden and a mistake.

The End
In a spiral of events, Pandora’s Box and the hunters’ search ended the night Pandora released the hack which crashed the stock market for two weeks. The bounty hunters captured them just as they unleashed their fury, holding them temporarily in Holhorse House, where they’d been operating out of. It was a strange, life-altering experience as the six stood in the attic. The voice of Edvard Holhorse overtook them, and suddenly, the group was locked in red-dusted plain where they watched as war was waged. A floating head left for dead. Holhorse appeared next to them to explain, but his words were tricky. They read as follows:

Flames lick
Rabid dogs of war.
Their teeth scream
On bone marrow.
Yours.

Where are they?
But you, foolish human,
Have no clue about what lies
Below.

The End is sprouting,
dissolving the spring roots
into spindles that will prick Men.

You are the hands,
Pushing the fabric forward.
You decide the direction,
But not your involvement.

How will the three layers collide?
By your will?
Or by being swallowed by the tide?

Once they were released from whatever vision Holhorse held them under, they discovered the attic was filled with his fortunes. It appears that only the paper bills and jewelry could be saved before the flames threatened to overtake them.

Pin Prick

♡coded by uxie♡

Pin Prick House is a strange label to most, given it's ever changing aesthetics and in-your-face displays. Their guerilla-style fashion shows, along with political displays and charity work gives the brand a hard, yet redeeming edge that many other fashion houses don't have. Started and owned by the infamous Madame Georgiette, Pin Prick House is more than just a brand – it's a lifestyle. Amidst the worst economic downfall to face Egress, they stand ready to deliver countless arrays of style for those still rich enough to afford their wares. Little do they know what lies beneath.

The brand has managed to cultivate a significant following, and once they melted the ice around the heart of Lazarus Alley, the Madame's numbers have soared threw the roof. It is because of this that she could reach out to the hunters and hackers of Pandora's Box, slipping them an encoded message through one of the many Echoes hired and directed to hand-tailor her designs for only the most wealthy. If this wasn't proof enough that Madame Georgiette and her Fated sisters hold the country in their grasps, Pin Prick's influence has allowed them to create a handful of flagship stores throughout Egress, one to five in each province. Furthermore, they have an online store that millions log onto daily for exclusive coupons, freebies, and other content. For those who cannot afford the designs, there are other options, reinforcing the Madame's motto: Clothes are for everyone, and fashion is just clothes.

Workplace Structure
There are a handful of positions available within Pin Prick, including:

Model
Seamstress
Designer
Patternmaker
Marketing
Front Desk / Assistant

Tower
of
Babel

♡coded by uxie♡

In the recesses of Pin Prick House lies the Tower of Babel, exactly in the middle of the earth that separates what is known and unknown. It is said that ghost creep the halls of the nuclear basement, but it is just the flickering fluorescents. A labyrinth of rooms, warehouses, and studies. A library housed with illegal materials, a lab outfitted with stolen bionic limbs and medical equipment, a string of cubicles dressed in hundreds of monitors and stinging HDMI cables, etc. There are refugees that hide in the confines, squared away from Egress’s watchful eye, under the protection of Georgiette and her sister’s ever-present gaze.

What is the Tower of Babel?

A rebel group. Some might even call them the rebel group. Grown in past years, many wrongfully attribute various acts of ‘domestic terrorism,’ such as the most recent attack by the hand of Pandora’s Box. However, there are some deeds more infamous or dastardly that the public know nothing about. Not even the ears of Lazarus Alley reach far enough to hear the whispers within the Empire. Stolen test subjects. Fires casted on government buildings. The complete wipe of their entire data server. On a wider basis, people recognize the Tower of Babel for their protests, which often end in smoke and bloodshed. Recently, their projects have become less rudimentary and more exclusive, profiting off of their cover’s recent notoriety.

Crimes Committed by The Tower:
⁂ Theft from seven members of the Prime Minister's Cabinet
⁂ Murder of six Gentry members, leaving their areas lawless for a total of sixty days before they instated new Gentry and upped security for everyone elsewhere
⁂ Providing disaster relief funds to Tai after their most recent hurricane
⁂ Blowing up several govt buildings, including the ESID research facility in Espiritú
⁂ Corrupting the files on all computers within Espiritú's Space Research and Acquisition (ESRA) facilities
⁂ Making millions 'mysteriously' disappear and reappear, washed and clean, in Tai, Iris, and Rass and addressed to various welfare and charity organizations
⁂ Several protests...
⁂ Providing the authentic information concerning Empire issues by changing the online articles and histories in the databases
⁂ blackmailing the Prime Minister with information about the Wolfsbane Virus; that ultimately got leaked two months prior to the events of the RP
⁂ taking over national broadcasts to release classified information, propaganda, etc.
⁂ operating a digital blackmarket of information, in addition to a physical one where people come and trade goods
many, many more
