boo.
the price we pay
Sparrow hadn't given a whole lot of thought towards the prolonged disappearance of the graduates. Stuff like this happened all the time, although it had been a bit strange when several of the professors and doctors went with them. Since the evils they went to battle were usually unknown to the public, no one had any idea of what their mission was and how long it would take to accomplish. Still, Sparrow would have liked to have his history midterms back. The substitute wasn't able to grade them, so he would just have to wait.
Stepping out of the showers, Sparrow tied a towel around his waist and made his way back to his room. One wasn't required to board here, but almost everyone did since Edgewood High was in the middle of nowhere. Like the name implied, is stretched across the edge of a large forest, the only road leading to it running through that forest.
Sparrow yawned absentmindedly, unlocking his room and throwing on the clothes he had laid out. Being that today was Saturday, there was no need to dress in the least bit formal. He grabbed the beanie from his bedstand and headed back out, making his way out of the dorms and across the campus to the dining hall. Squinting his eyes, he looked up at the grey sky that smelt of incoming rain.
A soft woosh, and his feet left the ground as Sparrow decided he was taking too long. The winds carried him a few feet from the ground and swept him toward the commons, and the boy let out a laugh. No matter how many times he had done it, he still loved to fly. It filled him with a sense of freedom, as if nothing else mattered.
Landing at the door of the dining hall, Sparrow stepped inside. There were already some students there, but not many people were willing to get up at 7 on the weekend, but Sparrow was a light sleeper. Not only that, but he had heard a rumour that some news might be shared about the graduates.
But for now, he would simply have to wait.
