Realistic or Modern The Summer Family Project

Jayson approached the house with awe, it was so large, he couldn't believe his eyes. He set his bags down, pulling out an earbud, which was playing loud music- The newest 'Punk Goes Pop' album- and looking at the other teens.

But questions ran through his head, why were they here? What was this for? Questions and scenarios playing in his mind, making him panic a bit as his mind went to darker places. Yet, Jayson calmed himself quickly, resuming in taking in his surroundings. He couldn't think straight and it was a good distraction, taking in every detail in his mind.

Mason groaned at the sight of the mansion. What the hell was this, anyway? His mother didn't bother explaining, just said something about an'attitude camp', whatever that was. He tried pestering her for answers, but she wouldn't give him any. He almost didn't come but his mother forced him too. Mason hated that whole "underage" thing. Another guy had managed to get there before him, and he approached. "Stuck here too, huh?" He asked, inspected the boy closer. They were clearly visibly different. The way the dressed, looked, and possibly acted... this was gonna be fun. "Have any idea what the hell 'this' is?" Mason asked, motioning to the house.

Lacey frowns as the unfamiliar home comes into view; although it is just as large (probably even larger) than her own house, the teen was looking forward to a weekend relaxing in her room. Most her friends are out of town, so Lacey was excited to be herself for a couple of needed days. Even so, the girl was still hoping to fit in a few naps at this place. Her father said she would enjoy it, so he must know something, right?

"Can't you just--"

Lacey is cut off by her father's signal for silence, as he makes yet another business phone call. The female rolls her eyes, pushes her hair back, and steps out of the stylish sports car. She stops briefly to attempt to remember what type of car her father drove, but, alas, Lacey is terrible with traditional "boy" topics. She lugs her bright purple suitcase and Herschel backpack out of the back seat.

"Hello, boys..."

Lacey mumbles this quietly and smirks at her outfit.

Mason turned to see another new face. He smiled, already all for the new girl. "Don't look now, but here come's Mr. Out-of-our-league." He whispered while eyeing her up and down, not being discrete about it... he wasn't one for 'discrete'. "'Name's Mason and this is..." He looked to the other guy, realizing he didn't get his name, "... The coolest guy you'll ever meet." There was a hint of sarcasm in his voice as he patted Jayson's back.

"You must be staying here too? Please say you are." He chuckled lightly.

Jayson smiled awkwardly, not used to social interactions, "Hi Mason, I'm Jayson." He replied, voice wavering a bit at the end. "Yeah, I'm staying here too, but I'm not sure exactly what it is..." He shrugged, hoping he didn't sound as awkward as he felt. As he glanced at his outfit, he hoped it didn't give of the wrong impression...

Lacey kicks her high heels casually at the gravel beneath their feet. She assumes the answer is obvious by her luggage and presence, so she pretends not to notice the voice... or the eyes scanning her body. She simply starts strolling to the front door, acting as though she owns the place.

"I expect we are allowed to explore until someone tells us why we are here...?"

She does not care for the others' possible opinions and knocks politely, just in case, on the freshly waxed door. The girl bites her bottom lip, hoping she will not have to speak for everyone. Pleasing people takes so much energy, Lacey would know.

"Oh, ouch." He pressed a hand to his heart dramatically in reaction to Lacey ignoring him, smirking slightly. Mason watched her walk to the front but then turned his attention to Jayson. "You don't know either? Well. This'll be fun." Gripping his luggage handle, he continued onto the entrance, waiting for someone to answer the door.

"Try just... you know, opening the door." Mason mentioned once there was no response.

He took this waiting time to glance around. Open area, probably a bunch of land in the back. And from the looks of the mansion from the outside, it would hopefully be just as big inside-- he had never been into a house so big, it would definitely be something new.

Jayson watched wearily, questions still flew through his mind as he watched the others. He took a moment to think about them, Mason seemed nice, though a bit too out-going for him- he avoided talking and people at all costs- and the girl, she seemed snobby. Jayson nodded at what Mason said, though the girl wasn't facing him and couldn't see his response.

Lacey turns the knob, after Mason's request, and discovers that it is indeed open. She glances back at the other two, a bit anxious to go in first. She steps back and pretends to flatten out her skirt and situate her bags. The girl puts up a pretty good "I-suddenly-have-something-to-do" act and waits for one of the males to walk in the house first.

Jayson watched her open the door and not walk in, so, taking a deep breath he entered the house. His bags were heavy on his shoulders as he looked around, it was as big as it looked, amazing Jayson. "Whoa." He breathed without thinking, stopping three steps in.

Since the new girl didn't exactly want to go in first, Mason followed close after Jayson, admiring the inside just as much as he was.

"Holy crap."

He stated with a faint smile, turning to get the full view of just the entrance alone. "I could definitely get used to this, let me tell you." The house seemed pretty empty at first glance, so this was no summer correction camp, that was for sure. But in truth, he didn't care. It was a big house free of the troubles of the outside world-- that was enough to get him hooked. He was sure
nothing could go wrong.

Lacey follows behind and begins to examine the house's basic layout by peeking into a few doorways and rooms. It seemed like a model home to her, something a developer would set up as an example to buyers. Here we have a lovely bedroom for two little ones! Oh, and couldn't you imagine yourself watching your children play with the dog out these glorious french doors? Don't like the separate dining room? Knocking out this wall would be a breeze!

The girl mocks real-estate in her mind and finds her way to the kitchen. She opens up a few cabinets, here and there, and finds herself a cinnamon Pop-tart. As long as she cleaned up after herself, no one would mind. If they did, they could speak with her father. Lace yawns and props herself up on a couch in the living area, where the three had first walked in. She smirks at their innocent reactions and feels a bit guilty for making fun of the home. It was actually nice, just typical...

Jayson blinked, excitedly rushing through the house, 'Whoa! This is the biggest house I've ever been in!' He thought with giddy and childish excitement. He frowned and stopped in his tracks when he found the children's rooms, what could that mean... Jayson smiled again at the thought of little kids joining them, 'Good practice for my future work...' He decided, rushing back to where his bags were, blushing a little from embarrassment, did he actually do that in front of those strangers... Oh...

Mason cupped his hands to his mouth. "Woo!" He shouted, hearing his own echo. He laughed, which echoed too, to his own amusment. Grabbing his bag, he rushed to find the rooms, absentmindedly missing the few and heading straight to the end of the main hall-- claiming the biggest one (of course). He threw the suitcase onto the bed and soon threw himself on it as well. It bounced slightly and he let out yet another laugh. "Holy crap this is the best." He whispered to himself, feeling a like a kid.

After lying there for a good few minutes, he decided to explore more, getting up to peek into the rest of the rooms. A few were just like his, same sheets, decorations, the works. Once he spotted Jayson, he jogged his way. "This your room-?" He stopped himself, grimacing. Here came the horror. Bright colors, animated sheets, newly bought toys, everything a bouncing bright kid would want. "This is... for a kid, right?"He stepped inside, looking around. "Wait, what? Why is this here? I don't see any kids..." He hopped there wouldn't be any, either. Mason hated kids. Always so energetic, hyper, attention-seeking. Ugh.

Jayson watched him, shrugging, "I'm not sure. I mean, I wouldn't mind if there were kids." He sighed, plucking up his bag, "I'm sure more people will come though, I mean, this place is huge!" He shuffled his feet, "So... Um... I'm gonna claim a room then..." Jayson was quickly coming done from his few minute rush, feeling shy and awkward once again.

Lacey finishes her snack and travels down a hallway of bedrooms once again. She tosses her things into a random room, not paying much attention. She sees the guys in one of the child example rooms.

"I bet they have some children's program... like a camp or something after ours. "

She sits on a Disney's Frozen themed bed and crosses her legs, emphasizing the fact that her skirt slides up her thigh. Lacey's hair falls to her waist and she spins a lock around her middle finger.

Jayson nodded to himself, 'Yeah, that's probably it...' Finding a decent room, he threw his stuff on the bed. God, he couldn't get over the size of the house, this was probably the biggest room he's ever slept, or even been in. Jayson started to arrange the room, placing his small bit of belongings in various places.

"God, I hope so." He mumbled under his breath, inspecting a few of the toys in the room. Almost all of them involved batteries, it was almost amusing. When he was younger, all he had to play with was a box and some crayons-- which made for a great imaginative playground. Now a days everything was planned out for kids, no room for creativity.

"Fun." He stated while looking over an electric 'dog'. "Well, if there is another camp after us-- they'll sure be the luckiest kids ever-" He looked over to Lacey and quickly stopped talking, a small smile edging onto his lips. "You know, I never got your name."

Lacey frowns briefly and stares at the electronic dog Mason holds in his hands; it seemed funny to her, a grown teenager holding a childish object.

"Actually, I don't think you ever asked for it. And for that, I'll get revenge..."

The girl grins as a quote from the Wizard of Oz escapes her lips; she couldn't help but share it.

"I'll get you, my pretty, and your little dog, too...! Anyways, the name is Lacey."

Her smiles fades to its normal apathetic smirk, and the girl avoids direct eye contact by staring at the animated poster behind Mason's head.

"Well you got me there." He answered with a laugh, setting the 'dog' down to lean on the wall. "Lacey, I like it, though you probably don't care what I think, huh?" He tilted his head slightly, trying to keep her engaged with him.

"And I see you're a movie lover." Mason smirked, as he crossed his arms. "Though I guess that is a pretty well known movie so..." His voice trailed off and he started to look her up and down, then quickly stopping himself, looking off to the side. "You should be careful, pretty girls like you can get into some good trouble looking like that." He sounded sarcastic, but he was being serious, not all guys were full of good intent.

Lacey looks into his eyes, wondering if he himself has ever taken advantage of someone. Not just physically, but mentally. Either way, what he said causes her to let out a small laugh.

"Exactly, 'good trouble.' So you think I'm pretty, do you? How....sweet."

The teen feels awkward making conversation in a child's bedroom and silently travels towards her claimed room. She plans on unpacking, but she is quickly distracted by people texting her phone, so she begins typing them messages back.

He rolled his eyes after letting out a laugh, her cockiness rather fun to play with. "Yeah, you're alright." He stated simply before looking towards the door. He wanted to explore more and when Lacey promptly left-- he took that opportunity. Deciding to unpack later,he traveled down to the main floor, leading himself to the rather large dining room.

'Holy crap--how much space do you need?...' Mason thought, eyeing the newly furnished room.

From there he traveled to the kitchen, finding some chips to snack on.
