There are many stories passed about the social circles as to what Marley's history is.Some say she was a thief, forced into slavery due to her crimes.Others say her parents were killed, there were no family members capable of taking her on,and the orphanages were all full and could not take her so she was put into slavery (that's one of the epic ones that comes from the people discussing it having had too much to drink before hand).Nobody truly knows the true history of Marley, which consists much more than just how she became a slave.
Marley was the only child in the family. Her mother was always frail since the time of birth and she was pretty much stuck in the house all of the time aside from small errands and family outings. Her father was a hard working man, owner of a construction business. They loved their daughter dearly and she loved them. They were not from the city or the country the city exists in,which will explain the slight accent her voice carries, and the area they lived in,including the country itself, was in trouble. They were at war with the city's country and were close to collapsing. However, her parents tried to keep that fact hidden from their daughter despite her being well-aware of the fact that life as she knew it,which mainly consisted of having fun when she wasn't helping her father with the business, could change in an instant. And,indeed,it did.Her hometown was attacked by enemy soldiers. Many buildings were set on fire, others raided, including her home.It was a gruesome moment in her life, one she would never forget. One soldier in particular took a liking to Marley and tried to take her away. Her parents intervened, but were shot for their efforts...right in front of her eyes. She was taken away from the only life she knew, taken to the impressive city that,if she wasn't in the position she was in,she would have admired. The soldier, who was very drunk at the time, bet her in a card game, which he lost. The man quickly sold her to a slave trader, and she became a nightmare to any person who dare tried to control her.
Dr. Rick started his life out in luxury, his father a rich business man owning an entire corporation based around slave trading. It was common as he was growing up to see many different slaves in his house doing any manner of things, all of them darker in complexion than him leading him to be supremely racist. Though that aside, he realizes in the modern society that slavery is a class game now, rather than a race issue like it used to be when he was younger. But nonetheless, contempt still builds inside him to see a white slave, the likes of which he usually treats with particular care.
Immediately after graduating from high school, he enrolled in a university based around military leadership, plans to be a high ranking officer on the horizon. And while those plans never quite fell through, his service in the military gave him a sense of authority that could never be deflated. After successfully completing a masters degree in Business management, and a PhD in Phycology, he hatched his plan of the most brilliant school he ever could:
One meant to calm and shape the salves that otherwise would have been a wasted investment.
He would double his already substantial money over night.
And after a lifetime of owning slaves, and knowing the human mind inside and out, he prides himself on being the single most effective slave trader and owner, boasting in advertisements how no slave could ever sustain his teachings for long.
(Side note, I'm going to assume his society has some kind of familial, cultural reason behind the tattoes and piercings. Cuz I really like this character look)
Name: Akeem Al Said
Nicknames: Sid
Profession: Nurse Practitioner (Medical Clinic Based, not hospital)
Age: 25
Ethnicity: Middle Eastern
History:
Akeem grew up comfortably middle class, his father a Paramedic and his mother a Nurse, medicine was always embedded in him since he was young and it was never a surprise when his curiousity with biology and the human body evolved into studied into nursing long before he ever graduated high school. But like all families within his culture, they always kept one slave. A slave that served as more of a housekeeper and family member than that of a true slave.
To the slaves lucky enough to find their ways into homes of the generous, a full room and separate living accommodations equal to a small studio apartment were not uncommon. Even those of the more cruel family suffering far less than those in more capitalistic countries outside of his little oil driven country. While Akeem himself never liked the idea of a slave, no man could ever hope to marry within his country without one.
No wife of a bountiful man should ever have to do a single load of laundry or trim a single garden by her own delicate hands.
So reluctantly he begins his search, the idea of saving a slave from the clutches of a capitalistic nightmare at the edge of his thoughts. Even if he didn't like it, a good heart always wants to see the good side of things. So he begins his search, a particularly terrible school on his mind that he had first class tickets to examine and even though his contribuation wouldn't be much to the grand scheme: Perhaps he could at least save one of the newer students from a life time of mental trauma. Put them to work as a CNA or something at his clinic. Perhaps even free her one day if maybe he could find a kind hearten woman with his same views on the world....
