Jessica hopped into the right place in line - and then realized what she hadn't done yet. She giggled at Padma's comment and stuck her tongue out playfully. "Nope, you're just hard to miss!"
Okay, time to calm down and be serious here! There's work to do! ...how do I do this again? The more that she kept her eyes shut and tried to focus, the more warm she felt, as if the sun had forgotten the time and wanted it to be noon again. In her imagination, she grabbed at the source, and energy rushed through her body. For a moment she looked like a sunbeam shaped like a person; then the bubble of power around her popped, and the transformation was complete.
But her hands still felt warm, so she resisted the urge to open her eyes, and instead focused on that sensation. It grew more intense suddenly, only to fade just as fast, replaced by a weight in both hands. Jessica jumped and blinked at the same time, staring down at... "Huh?" They looked a bit like fans until she gripped them properly. A phrase from one of her brother's games came to mind: "Twin blades? But I'm not a rogue..."
Before disappointment could show on her face for more than a second, her gaze landed on the dress she wore, and she broke into a grin. At least this part is pretty! She bounced in place; balancing on her low heels was no problem, and though frills swished around her legs, the skirt felt easy to move in. When she glanced up and down the line to see what she'd missed, some of the others also had weapons in hand. "Cool sword, Minny!" Her eyes were nearly alight with curiosity as she peeked at it. "Looks like everyone's is different...that's normal, right?"
