Back Story (200+ words):


Jakin was an orphan, both his parents killed in a car accident when he was taken in by a priest. The priest raised him teaching of his god, his beliefs and his way of life. Jakin found it all to be boring, needing to find his own path he left the priest at 14, homeless cold and hungry Jakin learned to steal, finding a way to become a grifter. Always looking for the next mark, he found himself able to con anyone he chose. His only curse was that he had a conscience, which in essence gave him a code, he'd only steal from those who could spare it, and he'd never take advantage of someone who didnt have it coming.


When he turned 17 he met a woman, this woman was the first to steal from him catch him off guard starting with stealing his heart. The two found themselves in a whirlwind of a romance, there love was passionate and intense. She was just like him only difference she didnt have the same code. This was never more evident then the day she told him about these mysterious talismans, "a big score" she called it. Finding one she attempted to betray Jakin, leading to him being forced to set his lover up. Stealing the talisman for himself, and abandoning her. Now on his own he wields the silver shield, using it to help him cheat death and live only for the moment. but something says his destiny is much bigger than that.

Sounds great thank you :) sorry if i didnt post my request to reserve the talisman first. but in case it wasnt clear cause i was kind of stealth about it lol i want to reserve the Silver Shield

Backstory:

Bexโ€™s life started out anything but normal when she was born four weeks prematurely. Her first year or so was spent fighting for her life inside an incubator in the ICU due to being born too small with organs struggling to keep her alive. Safe to say Bex survived but her parents were destroyed by the ordeal. Her mother just about held it together but her father turned to the drink to try and forget it all. Things held together for several years, even if the conditions worsened and her father got angrier every time he was drunk, but then when she was 9 the police came knocking on their door to tell them that her father was dead after a bar fight gone wrong. It broke her family remains beyond repair which was proved on her 10th birthday when Bex, who was already scarred for life, came home from school to discover her mother dying of a drug overdose, too far gone for anything to be done.

There and then, she decided that she wasnโ€™t going to let herself get hurt again. Bex bolted with a backpack containing a few belongings after calling the police so that she wouldnโ€™t be taken by social services. Her next few years were rough as she learnt to survive on the streets but eventually she got there and fell into company with The Fliers, a free-running crew that she just felt at home with. The thing with the crew is that everyone has a token that means something to them about the crew. This was how Bex got her talisman since she didnโ€™t have a token, she had to find one and this one, literally fell out of the sky and landed at her feet. Bex hasnโ€™t taken it off since the day she found it, taking ti as a sign that she was doing the right thing.

Backstory


One of Ralph's earliest memories was receiving the talisman from his mother when he started going to school. Neither of them knew of its power, in fact, Ralph's mom only gave it to him because a merchant said it would give him good luck on tests. But Ralph quickly discovered the talisman's power, and it shaped his entire life since.


When he was little, he loved playing pranks on the other school children and sneakily getting away with it. However, he was never good at the "getting away with it" part. Instead, he would often find himself surrounded by boys who wanted to beat the crap out of him. But this was no matter; with only a thought, he could instantly heal all of his wounds and fight off any opponent with vigor. By the time he was in 5th grade, he was the most feared person in his school, and could get anything he like from anyone with just a threat. Everyone knew that he was essentially unbeatable. Teachers knew it too, and often wondered why he wasn't expelled. Some rumored that he threatened the principle, and even he bowed to the ten year old's might.


When Ralph entered middle school, his parents were depressed and fearful of him. Like with everyone else, he got everything he could ever want from his parents, by threatening to kill them. He made sure that they stayed the financially secure family he desired so he could get what he wanted, despite how broken they were. One time, his father got severely drunk and Ralph fought him until his Dad was coughing up blood, threatening the next he got drunk he'll kill him. After his dad was shipped off to the hospital, with his Mother telling the doctors he got into a bar fight, Ralph's father vowed to never touch a beer again.


Ralph was getting bored of his suburban life, however. He realized that above all the materialistic things he owned, what brought him the most joy was the fear in people's eyes when they realized they hadn't landed a scratch on him. And his peers at school weren't really satisfying this anymore... it was just too easy. So he decided to dabble in the drug trade, threatening dealers where they got their drugs from so he could "join" a drug cartel. ("Give me people to kill, or I'll kill you.") After being "accepted" into one, he moved out from his home, which literally wrought tears of joy from his parents.


From then on, Ralph's life was filled with the blood of his victims. He was assigned people to kill and followed through, becoming of of the most reliable hit men in his section of the cartel. It was a glorious two years, but eventually he got bored of this too. He wondered what it would be like to kill one of his superiors, and decided to try it. It wasn't long before he found of the identities of his superiors, and started plotting to kill the one that would assign him jobs.


But his plan failed. Never the one to sneak up on a person and plant a knife in their back, he walked up to his superior with a pocket knife and started slashing at him. The man was twice his size, and easily pinned him to the ground and punched him in the ribs. Ralph healed himself, but became extremely fatigued, something that never happened to him before. All the muscles in his body ached like he just ran ten miles. Something was wrong. Ralph managed to thrust the knife into the man's stomach, and as he bellowed in pain, Ralph picked himself up and ran. He barely managed to escape the cartel by hiding out behind rocks and brush. Now he lives on the run, being chased down by the cartel, confused by why his power turned into complete crap, wondering what he'll do with his life, and how long he'll live.
