Fantasy The Shifters

[Plums]

The city is full of theives and bad guys. Gangs own the streets, and normal people are to scared to go outside. They need help.


A small group of normal humans, changes. They become half animal. They will now have to choose if they will fight the bad guys, and become superheroes, or join them and become supervillians. But the normal people doesn't know what to think about the changed one's, called Shifters. Some of them is positive about them, while others is scared off them or envy them.

Alice walked around in the streets. It was a late evening, and everybody with a brain should be inside. But she didn't have to. She was different, she was a Shifter. She had ears and a tail and fox eyes, and she could become a fox whenever she wanted. But, she really shouldn't be out on the streets alone anyways. Shifters was hated, even if she were a superhero and protected the normal ones. And gangs of villians were also lurking in the shadows. But she didn't care. She wasn't scared of death, she welcomed it with open arms. The only reason she was still alive was that she liked to protect others, and to do that you need to be alive. Unfortunality.

 

[Ananfal]

To be honest, Kira prefered to stay in her panther form. People didn't look strangely at her tail and ears then, then it was natural. Hissing at the latest pair of humans to chase her away after she saved their lives, she ran away into the security of a nearby alley. Slowing down to a walk, she scented the air to see if anything bad was happening nearby. There was no scent of fire or blood, but... A shifter? Snarling, she ran into the street, instantly spotting the girl with ears and a tail walking. Unfortunately Kira couldn't speak in her panther form so she just growled at the stranger, hoping they understood her meaning. What are you doing here?

Chewing almost angrily on a piece of bubblegum, XJune walked through the small, empty town. 'You can do dis, you gotta...right?' He told himself in thought. He heard footsteps of someone, he looked behind him to see the silhouette of a person with ears. "Ah crap..." He mumbled. He ran for a set of stair and shifted into his cat form and engaged in a cat nap until the person passed. The person got closer and he could begin to make out more features. 'A girl, ears, tail of a fox's, dem eyes...' He thought. 'Shoot, dats a shifta...' He was excited, he rarely ran into others of his own kind, usually it ended in him getting the crap kicked out of him though. He prayed that she'd just pass.

 

[Plums]

She stopped and turned around at the roar, and looked at the black panther behind her. It was beautiful, but she knew that it was a shifter. C'mon, a real panther in a city? But she didn't know if it was a friend or foe. Alice didn't think that the roar sounded threatingly, scary sure, but not the ROAWR-I'm-going-to-eat-you roar. But she was a bit shaky, she had always been scared off animals, expecially big and dangerous ones like this one. She was still a bit scared that she was an animal herself now. "Can you shift...like please?" She said to the big, black cat, trying to not show how scared she was.

 

[Ananfal]

Kira laid her ears flat against her head and growled defiantly but eventually shifted back to her human form, folding her arms over her chest. "What are you planning on doing here?" She growled, even though it didn't sound as threatening in her human form. "This part of the city is under my protection, so state your business or leave." In her human form she only had her tiny claws to defend herself with, so she really hoped that there wouldn't be a fight.

XJune saw his opportunity, both were distracted. Still in cat form, he stood up, stretched, and started walked down the street. Eventually, he turned the corner and changed back into his human form. He walked down the few alley ways to make sure they weren't following him, once back where he started, XJune entered a convenient store. 'Here we go...' He sighed in his thoughts. The only person in the store was the clerk. He approached the counter and smashed a rack of food of the counter with his bat and threw a bag to the clerk.


"I bet you ain't stupid, fill da bag. Quick." XJune said, bat cocked back ready to swing at any moment. The confident smirk on his face was that of a crazy man's. His ears flickered under his hat when he thought he heard a noise from on the street, her turned, didn't see anything, and turned back to meet the barrel of a gun. the holder, the clerk. XJune snatched the gun and pointed at the clerk. "Continue! knucklehead! Try anything again and imma slug you so hard you'll wish you were never born!"

 

[Plums]

Alice's fox ears twisted at the sound of a man yelling. She really didn't want to fight this girl, who she still wasn't sure if she was good or bad, so this was the perfect excuse. "I'm going to check that out." She said, shifted to the fox and started to run. She knew that she was probably faster than her, and soon she came to a store, where a robbery was going on. She charged towards the villian's leg (Who seemed to be a cat, in human form) and was baring her teeth, to bite his leg.

 

[Ananfal]

The instant the other shifter moved, Kira was on her paws and chasing after her. She would have went to the yelling anyway so it was two birds with one paw, she figured. Arriving at the convenience store only seconds after the fox shifter, she instantly took in the situation. Seeing that the Fox was going for the intruder's leg, she went for the gun to prevent him from shooting anyone.

XJune felt a sharp, deep pain in his leg. He screamed in pain as he dropped the gun causing it to discharge and swung his bat ear his leg. He missed the creature but managed to kick it off and toward the wall.


"Ah! You friggin'..." he saw what bit him, it was a fox, probably the shifter from before. "Aye, where's you pantha friend?" he said tauntingly. XJune saw the panther enter. "Welcome to da party!" he smirked and took a fighting stance with his bat in hand.

Kira was mid-leap when the intruder dropped the gun, making it accidentally discharge. It was too late to dodge and so she ignored the sharp pain in her shoulder and landed gracefully upon the ground. Sending the gun flying away with one paw swipe, Kira turned to growl menacingly at what seemed to be a cat shifter. She couldn't speak in her animal form so she settled for a threatening slash with her claws as a warning. She was not playing around! This was her territory and she would not allow innocents to be harmed!

"Oooo dis kittypet's ascared for a little housecat like me? Throw a swing!" He yelled at her. He waited until she swiped at him to take a warning swing of his own with his bat. Once his exertion of energy from the swing was done, he noticed blood on the floor. His mind instantly shot to the gun. 'Who's hurt? That wasn't me was it?' His thoughts distracted him as he zoned out, the bat dropped to his side and the sound of a gunshot rang in his mind.

 

[Plums]

As she hit the wall she shifted back to her human form, and saw the panther comming in. Hero then, she thought and stood up with a hand on her hurt shoulder, but soon she put it down and dashed so that she was placed besides of him, and she took the bat. She looked worried and quickly at the panther, it seemed like she had been hit by the gun.

Now that the cat shifter was unarmed, Kira allowed herself to relax slightly, the pain instantly hitting her. Drawing her front left leg off the ground so that she didn't put weight on her injured shoulder, she limped over to the fox shifter and bared her teeth in a friendly snarl. It seemed as though the fox shifter was doing good and that was enough for Kira. Turning her gaze to the cat shifter, she wasn't quite sure what to do with him. He seemed dazed for some reason, and allowed himself to lose his primary weapon. What was he thinking about so hard?

The bat was no longer in XJune's hand when he came back to reality. 'Da hell?' He looked to his side to see that the fox girl had the bat.


"Ah ah ah, dat's not for you!" He dropkicked the fox girl to the ground and grabbed his bat and a lump of money.


"I'd better not have rabies, Miss Bitey Pants!" He dove out of the store and over the panther girl and onto the sidewalk. "Keep pressure on dat, mittens." he said to the Panther girl. XJune stood up and started running down the street. 'What da hell was I thinkin'?' he thought to himself. He looked down to see his leg was now covered in blood from the bite.

 

[Plums]

She stood up again and wiped his blood of her mouth with her arm. Then she headed out on the streets in fox form, but with the headace his kick gave her, she couldn't track him down. She growled silently at their failure.

 

[Ananfal]

Snarling, Kira instantly began to run after him. She was stupid to let her guard down, stupid! Ignoring the pain that shot up her shoulder every step, she began to track the blood that had dropped from his injured leg. Growling at the fox shifter to follow her, she led the chase. Unfortunately she couldn't run very fast with her injury, but thankfully the trail was clear and seemed to be straight. Pushing herself to run faster, Kira let out a panther scream that promised pain to the cat shifter when she found him.

 

[The Darkling]

Freyja was standing a top one of the roofs doing her nightly scan of the city. She crossed her arms, her long sleeved black sweater clinging close to her body. She sighed, "Tonight is just as quiet as any other.." She shifted her weight, the black spandex leggings gleaming lightly. She preferred black to any other color..it made her blend in with the night much better. She was about ready to leave when raging flame like heat signatures popped up. She listened closely and she could see three of them. Quickly she tied her hair up into a black ponytail and jumped to another roof close by trying to get a better look.

XJune Climbed up a fire escape of a nearby building. He only made it to the second platform before he turned and saw the panther girl was chasing him.


"Ah! Whassa matter; you friggin' stupid?" He had another 5 flights of stairs at least before he was safe. "Ah forget it. Here!" He yelled down to the panther girl. "Take the friggin' money back." He threw the bundle of cash down to the animal-girl. After tossing the money, he took his hat off and put it in his bag along with the bat, letting his hair flow in the night breeze. "Thanks frisky..." He mumbled in a darker tone just loud enough for her to heard before he kept climbing. He got to the roof and told himself 'Don't friggin' look down...' When he saw someone else standing on a rooftop in the distance.


"Ah crap."

 

[The Darkling]

Freyja noticed one of the signatures climb higher as one of the others chased. "Its possible they are shifters..or some crooks.." She pulled the knife from her belt clip and crouched, she needed some cash and she could get it either way. One of them was getting closer and she sensed she could be seen by now. She prepared to change form if she needed to.

"I'm ain't blind..." XJune mumbled to himself. He could see the figure only a few rooftops away. Instead of investigating, he sat down on the ledge of the building, feet dangling off the edge. He laid back and looked at the sky. He was gonna wait out the panther on the streets below before he went home.

 

[The Darkling]

Freyja glared and tucked the knife back into her clip. She changed form quickly and spread her wings wide swooping over the rooftops. Everything was still so clear to her as it was when she was human. Her bat form was much easier to deal with. She swooped over the head of the guy she noticed before. He was a shifter she could tell from here.

 

[Ananfal]

The pain was hazing over Kira's mind by the time she managed to corner the cat shifter on the roof of a random building. She barely registered the fact that he threw down the money towards her. Instead she collapsed on the ground, her front left leg stretched out awkwardly. The bullet was still inside her and it was hurting like crazy, but she couldn't get it out herself and she couldn't shift back either. Laying her head on the ground, she closed her eyes and resigned herself to unconsciousness.

"Hey creep-o." XJune mumbled as he saw the bat fly overhead. He knew it was the figure from he other roof. Thoughts of the gunshot still rang in his head. He shook out the thoughts and looked down at the ground, the panther girl was now laying on the ground.


"You sleepin'?" he yelled down. he remember the gun from before. "Crap..." he put the pieces together. He made his way back to the fire escape and started slowly making his way down. he had lost sight of the bat-shifter, but didn't care.

 

[The Darkling]

She scrunched up her nose and waited for him to leave when she dropped down on the roof where he just was. She also noticed the panther, "Wow..shifters galore tonight.." She walked over to where he left and looked down seeing a bag close by. "Hmmm.." There was really no way to tell if these two were heroes or not.
