(My eyes are a stormy gray-blue rather than a hazel. They are more of a blue color around the outer rim, more gray around the inner rim, and they gradually mix in between. I'm naturally pretty lean, and am five foot, five inches tall)

Animal Appearance: Barn Owl- I am kinda small and petite for a female barn owl, because females are normally a lot larger than males. That is probably due to me not truly being a barn owl. I weight 18.42 ounces while being 14.3 inches in length from the top of my head to the tip of my tail, and my wingspan is 32.8 inches.

<p><a href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_06/DSC_0783.jpg.8ce7d46f1e42601dd52aaed0f6bb75e0.jpg" class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image"><img data-fileid="57752" src="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_06/DSC_0783.jpg.8ce7d46f1e42601dd52aaed0f6bb75e0.jpg" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" alt=""></a></p>

Personality: I am generally very quiet and reserved and secretive, always wanting to keep to myself. So being alone in a place I am comfortable with is nice. But I come out of my shell more and act more comfortable with people when I am around people I am used to and feel comfortable with, or when I'm in my animal form. Although, I always seem to have difficulty making eye contact with people unless I know them well or in my animal form (mainly because it freaks them out to look at my pitch black eyes and I find that hilarious). I am also naturally very sarcastic and snarky in most situations, especially if I'm mad or scared. I'm also very stubborn and easily suspicious. Anyone who knows me knows that all is true. But, I am actually a caring and nice person, despite all of those personality traits. And if I call you a friend, I am actually pretty nice, friendly, and amusing. I just usually keep that side reserved when around people I'm not comfortable with. I may not be the best at showing that my nice side, and giving heartfelt speeches definitely isn't my forte. But I will still be nice to people if they deserve it. Also, I don't like to see people that I care about getting hurt, and I will fight to defend them whenever I see fit. Or I will just defend any person that I think deserves it. I will willingly fight for what is right whenever I can. But, there is one thing you should know about me: my view on respect. I don't care how old someone is to me, or who they are to me or anyone else. If someone respects me, then I will respect them. If someone is nice to me, I will be nice to them. But if someone is an asshole to me, or plain disrespectful to me, I will definitely return that. I will not be nice to someone if they are mean to me, unless I absolutely have to if I want to live. It is just hard for me to do. And if I have to be nice to someone I don't respect, it leaves me very mad and sour afterward.

Mate: None at the moment, but I'm interested if the right guy comes along.

Bio: I don't like talking about it much, since it's nothing too interesting. So if someone asks, sure, I'll talk about it. But if no one asks, that is perfect with me.

Extra:

• People who know me well usually call me Kie-Kie. And my friend, Kurt, sometimes calls me Church or Tyto. Church because he loves calling my species of animal their nickname of Church Owl rather than Barn Owl, and he finds it perfect to call me that because of my species and last name. And Tyto because that means owl in Greek. It is also the Genus name of the barn owl species. He's usually the only person that calls me those two nicknames, but I wouldn't be too mad if someone else did as well.

• I spend most of my time in my owl form when I am out of my home, as it makes me feel safer. I've also grown accustomed to it, because of my job.

• My job is...a kinda weird one, to say the least. It is not normal by any means. I have a friend who is a shifter as well (he's a golden eagle), and he owns a bird sanctuary. When I went to one of his outings he puts on to educate the public about birds, I was there and observing. I didn't know him at the time, and I just found it interesting to go because he would be talking about animals that are related to my animal form. So I was intrigued. While he was there, though, some little shitbirds decided it would be funny to open the cages of some of his birds while he was away for a minute. I didn't see it, but I heard about it. Quite a few of his birds got loose, including a barn owl. And that barn owl was one of only two barn owls that he had. To top it all off, the second barn owl wasn't friendly enough to be brought to shows.

The guy was able to catch a couple of his birds, some of the nicer and older ones that had been with him longer. But most were long gone the second the cages opened. I felt so bad for the guy, losing so many of his birds. So, a few days later, I went to his sanctuary and talked to him about the incident. I told him what form I could shift into, and that I could..uh, help him during outings by traveling with him in my owl form. He was confused at first, not understanding why I would want to do that. But I convinced him it would help him more than harm him, because he wouldn't have to house and feed me everyday, and he could turn me loose without me even trying to flee. And I just said that I wanted to be nice. After explaining all that, he agreed that it was a good idea. So that is where I "work", appearing as a barn owl all day, and getting paid almost the same as a 40-hour work week on normal wage. I even hunt mice for him now, as I'm really good at it and I usually eat that way since it requires less food. No one that goes to the exhibits knows that I'm a shifter, too, as I've only told a few people about my job. But that is good in my opinion. And I'm glad for my job, because it actually is fun and Kurt - my "employer" - is now a good friend of mine. So it works out good for everyone.

• My two choice weapons while in human form are two long and narrow seaxs. I carry them with me in sheaths all the time, and they are enchanted to transform into my animal weapon when I transform (the seaxs look like the ones below, except the handles are made from the end of a Red Deer antler rather than just a plain wooden handle). I know it's funny to carry around knives in this day and age, but I love the things and they turn into a weapon for my owl for when I need them to. So I can't help it. The seaxs are each 18 inches long, from tip to tip.

• My weapon I use in my owl form are metal Battle Claws. The weapon part is made of extremely strong and sharp titanium mixed with some iron. A wider, thicker base surrounds my actual talons and toes, giving the metal claws support and a way to attach to the leather sock-like cover that holds the battle claws to my feet. The deadly part of the talons gradually grows thinner as it curves away from my actual talons, ending at a very curved, sharp, and vicious end. They make my toes roughly twice as long as they would naturally be. The leather attaches to my feet and ends partially up my legs, where it cinches at the back to hold it onto my leg. There is also a small piece of metal on the front of the leather that acts as a sort of shin guard for my legs. I usually wear these, especially if I am going out to a place where I need good protection. But I almost never bring them to work, and if I do, Kurt keeps them with his things so I know where they are in case I need them while I'm there. But these things are mainly used for killing things that are as big as or bigger than me, not hunting.

• I occasionally wear a type of armor while in owl form. It is a face mask made from a leather hood that partially covers my head in certain spots with a thin amount of titanium for true protection. I would use different metal for that, but titanium has the highest strength-to-weight ratio of any metal. So it is both light for flying and strong for protection, which is important for a flying animal. It was also made for me without my choice of what it was made out of and what it looked like. So..yeah. I had no choice in the matter. I only wear my mask in certain cituations where I know I really need it or I want to be flashy. So, I hardly ever use it. I leave it safely hidden at my home when it isn't in use, as the mask can make it more difficult to fly, see, hear, and fight. (This basically what it looks like for me to be in both my Battle Claws and Face Mask.)
