The Shadow of the North (Scandinavian Folklore) - Out of Character

By the way, Iver's CS is up. Not that it really means much, haha but it's done.

I'm thinking up the next one for me. @Abyss was going to be away from the comp for a bit. Also might create another character. I'm thinking we need a draug...

I like it! Iver could end up in the sea somehow and the draug could be there to foreshadow his drowning but save him instead, for some reason (he hates death, he gets the feeling you're important, he misses being around the living?) Thinking about this, I just realized there's a huge flaw in my country map regarding the location of the sea...crap. I have things to correct.

I'm back! So I'll get to posting soon. Also is my second character accepted or declined?

I'll hopefully also be posting soon; my internet hasn't been working and posting on my phone is annoying if it gets lengthy, lol

I'm almost done my post for Blagden, should be up within the next 20 minutes.

I made my post, just wanted to mention something here in case your wondering when you read it.

Blagden, just like every other Sjell can't manipulate regular solid objects, but he's able to sort of manipulate the locket because it contains a piece of his essence inside. It's what traps him to it and what allows him to hold on to it, because he's just interacting with a piece of himself and not the actual container. If he tries to break it himself though it will glow, burn him and cause him to drop it.

I just have to say, this looks awesome! Is knowledge of Scandinavian lore required before joining? If so, I can definitely do some reading, but I have very little background on it.

I think I'd be interested in joining this, if that's alright, but it will be a few weeks before I'm able to do much. I'm on mobile until then, so you know how that goes... But I am able to chat a bit in the meantime.

(I think this is the right place? Or maybe the other? I'm not entirely sure, just let me know if I need to fix it...)

Hi @AlbaGuBrath !

Yes, this is the right place to post OOC, and thank you for being interested! Knowledge of Scandinavian lore is definitely not required, as I only based everything off it and sort of made up my own stuff to fill in the blanks. :D Everything you will need can be found in the overview, character sign-up and settings/locations. I'd love for you to join, as soon as you are able! When you are, go ahead and send me a character sheet either here or in a PM and I'll get it added to the sign-up.

This is awesome!!! I'll probably begin to interact with you a little in my next post.

Okay, I fixed my map (again) so now we have accurate ocean and Wasteland.

Name: Mara, The Mist Banshee, The Blue Wraith

Age: unknown

Race: unknown

Description: The Blue Wraith is a relatively new "apparition" that has gained quite a bit of attention in the larger towns and cites of the north. Its unclear just how long they've been around and what their purpose or agenda is. The Blue Wraith appears to be a young slim man around 5'6", somewhere between the ages of twenty and thirty. Whenever they are seen, they are always wearing a mask, half white and the other half an elaborate design of blue leaves and vines. They always wear a dark brown cloak which covers the rest of their body and head, tho it should be noted that the cloak is very light and allows for quick movement.

It is unclear of the Blue Wraith's race as there doesn't seem to be anything ethereal about them, they are known to quickly appear and disappear from town to town, but not by using any magic or ethereal ability, it could be argued that the Wraith is simply a tricky human. Tho whether they simply don't have these abilities, or they choose not to use them for the sake of obscurity is unclear. The Wraith has never been known to speak and carries a number of pouches on their sides. It has been said that one of the pouches is capable of carrying things that seem too large or heavy to fit. Tho it is very rare that they are ever actually cornered and forced to fight, and when they are, they typically prefer hand to hand combat, a skill that is obviously VERY developed.

Name: Fjor Vayenhjal

Age: 25

Race: Human

Description: Fjor is a young man from a small Northern town, on the outskirts of the Elveik forest. He is a somewhat practiced mage, tho he typically employs various types of unique magic that he has developed himself. Due to his travels over the past few years he has become very reserved and skeptical, traveling alone while studying the world and his magic. Fjor is about 5'9", he has fair skin and deep red hair tho curiously there is a single white streak that flows down the side. He is dressed for the cold Northern winter, wearing fluffy wool and carries a mysterious book, filled with a number of different things.
