The ‘Friend of a Friend’
The SeⓋen Deadly Sins
"In the beginning, God created the Heavens and Earth."
Genesis 1:1
Plot
There are things that cannot be explained in this world. Demons, ghosts, monsters, the like. They can be spotted in the old woman with the glass eye who always seems to keep her gaze just slightly too firmly on you at the bus stop. They can be seen in the quiet kid who sits silently by himself at the backdoor of the old seven eleven on Market Street, his skills just slightly too pale to be natural. They can be seen in the playful young lady who strides down the dark streets as if she owns them, none of the men bothering to jeer at her out of fear of whatever that slightly inhuman tinge to her spirit is. Some people recognize the monsters, some ignore them and pretend to have never noticed the old lady's smile out of the corner of their eyes, or how the kid seemed to flicker, or how the last man to tell the woman to smile vanished a few weeks back.
These monsters have been forgotten and ignored for many years. There are more important matters on the horizon.
Gang wars have become a common occurrence in the port-city of Daon, primarily between the two gangs known as the revolutionary Ushye Rioters and the powerful Ordai Dock Mafia. Following the death of a young boy who had been related to the leader of the Ushye Rioters, the Ordai Dock Mafia, in an attempt to maintain the appearance of peace in the city, had covered up the cop-lead death, causing one of the largest scandals in the city's history. In turn, there is a war one two fronts; the poverty-stricken Ushye Rioters fighting off the Ordai Dock Mafia as well as attempting to highlight the corruption of the police in the city while the Ordai Dock Mafia simply attempts to maintain their business as usual.
This was all going steadily and normal up until a few days ago.
It shocked the streets, the silence from both fronts of the war.
Some people theorized that someone powerful had been killed. Some said that a third front had arisen. The more religious, and the more lunatic, people said that only the wrath of God himself could end the fighting.
Theoretically, they were all correct.
Seven siblings, simply referred to as 'The Sins' had seemingly appeared overnight, claiming a large chunk of land from the supposed all-powerful Ordai Docks and putting a sharp barrier between both the revolutionaries and the mafia in their strategic boundaries as they claimed only a couple blocks, separating the poor from the rich with only a couple blocks of territory.
It is six days into the silence. Nobody knows who these siblings are or why they have invested themselves in the outcome of this war.
Some say it's for power. Some say it's for money. Some say they just find it amusing.
All that is known is that one of the former Ordai clubs that had been taken in the Sin's new territory has been closed for six days, each day, counting down with a bright red spray painted sign across the front of the building. Nobody can be seen entering or leaving, even the sprayed paint across the bricks seeming to appear all on its own. This morning, a bright red 1 appeared spray-painted across the front of the abandoned club.
Setting
This roleplay takes place in the fictional city of Daon, a coastal city in the North-Eastern area of the United States. It's a rather large city, about the size of New York City with about the same population. It is late Fall in the time of the roleplay, without even the first snowfall of the season having begun yet.
The city has faced a lot of issues with poverty in the recent years due to the shift of most of the factory jobs becoming more advanced level and requiring higher education, something which has also lacked in proper funding for the last twenty-so years. In turn, there has also been some animosity between the higher and lower classes due to the education barriers, leading many of the more poor areas to become cramped and rough while the higher-classes live in nicer suburbs on the edges of the large city and near the center of the city in apartments while the poor live in tenants.
A few years ago, there was a large amount of publicity surrounding the death of two young men who had been shot during a police chase, both of which died. In turn, a woman who had been related to one of the boys and had been involved in the political life of the city had risen to begin a stance against the police, inevitably being shot by a radical and dying shortly after. However, her revolution continued on to become the Ushye Rioters, with the power being traded between the members of the group with no true solidified leader to the constantly shifting revolution. To try and cover up the cities so-called 'embarrassment', the Ordai Dock Mafia attempted to cover up these deaths, leading to them to be blamed for the death of the previous woman leader of the revolution.
There are also many gangs in the city, the most prominent one being the Ordai Dock Mafia who own most of the ports of the city as well as hold a large influence over the dockside entertainment sectors of the city, also happening to reside close to the tensions of the revolution.
The final gang, the Sins, only recently secured a small portion between both the Revolution and the Ordai Docks, taking a small amount of the latter's land forcefully and securing it as their own.
If you are a human in the roleplay, you will have a lot more of a choice where you reside and may pick anywhere in the city as long as you describe it.
If you are a Sin, you will reside with the other sins either in or near their claimed sector.
If you are a Supernatural, (Though not a sin,) you may pick wherever you want to live, though it is recommended you take caution in choosing. People with high influence can live in the wealthier parts, people with lower influence will likely live in poorer areas.

NPCS [Can be controlled by anyone.]
- Hera -
Hera is a former guard of Hell, having assisted the Sins in their escape as per the request of Ezekiel. She is sullen and angry, snapping at people over the smallest of things. Despite this, she is exceedingly loyal to the Sins and has vowed to serve them until her death. Rising from Hell cost her most of her abilities, leaving her behind in a mostly mortal state with only her strength and stamina remaining. She is a heavy smoker.
- Fikhar -
Fikhar, the sin of Envy, is a moody male appearing to be in his late teens or early twenties. He tends to enjoy causing trouble, having a mindset much similar to Hera with the 'fight first, ask questions later' sort of attitude. That being said, he seems to have a passion for human magic tricks, often enjoying presenting these tricks to his younger siblings as well as using them to scam people off the street. His ability allows him to use watered-down variants of other Sin's abilities, such as being able to summon anything that can fit in the palm of his hand when interacting with Jonah, or gaining a boost in charisma when interacting with Ellie. He can only use these abilities when in the presence of their owner.
- Cain -
Cain is a bit of a wildcard for the Sins, having been a religious man before unwillingly becoming the sin of Gluttony. While being a religious man though, he has picked up on many feats of true magic. Unlike Fikhar's simple mortal magic, Cain has learned how to manipulate many of the dark arts of the world. Sadly, this was also what lead to him becoming a sin. Many of his spells, primarily consisting of runes and sigils, are very resource consuming, taking large quantities of things that are oftentimes rather hard to obtain. He is somewhat prude and exceptionally quiet, making him often the last to be noticed in a crowd, though he is kind and generous at heart, only using the spells when needed due to their large demands.

The Sins
Below is for anyone playing a Sin and contains potential spoilers.
The sins are all siblings that are the official Seven Deadly Sins themselves. The reason for them stopping the war was not for their own pleasure, but rather from them fleeing from an old problem, it unintentionally halting the fight between the two groups as they took residency in the human world. Each of the sins had previously endured intense training in order to take their positions, training that sadly claimed the life of one of their former sisters. Fleeing from the person who they had been attempting to learn from, they entered the human realm and happened to find themselves between the war. Living in a city of sin was the perfect alibi for them. It wasn't ideal, but it was better than continuing to suffer training under the man that had indirectly caused the death of one of their closest friends and their own sibling. As far as their opinions on that subject go? It's up to you. Not all of them are proud of the past and will likely want to look to the future. After all, they're in a city of sin. What could ever be a better place for them other than right here?

Ezekiel Sin
Appearance : Ezekiel appears as a male in his mid-twenties, having scraggly blond hair and light blue eyes. He fairs more on the lean side, oftentimes dressing in simple white dress shirts, black or grey slacks, and occasionally with a jacket or an apron according to if he is working or not. He has rather sharp cheekbones and is clean-shaven.
Sin-Related Ability : Ezekiel is a bit of a wildcard when it comes to abilities. Due to his tendency to use his ability as a last resort, it has become somewhat shrouded in mystery to most of those who are aware of the Sins. The primary basis of his ability seems to follow the premise that he is capable of saving his energy for later usage. This has been witnessed in hell only a handful of times with different themes each time, though the one consistent aspect seems to be his great speed when using his stored energy. His ability also causes him to remain idle for long periods of time, either through sleeping or simply resting.
Interests/Skills : Ezekiel seems to be both a decent cook and an excellent mixer, shown through his job as a bartender for the Sins Club. As a more hidden talent, he seems to have a passion for teaching, shown through his discussions with Ellie as he teaches her about the human world.
Affiliation : The Sins.
Personality : Ezekiel has a kind and somber personality, often being the listener in most conversations while others speak. He enjoys listening to and talking with his younger siblings and teaching them what he has picked up about the human world in his time prior to them all fleeing Hell. With all his kindness though, he is also flirtatious and a bit of a trickster, taking slight amusement in playing small tricks on humans at any chance given. He is a natural leader, being the one to originally scout out the human world before moving to bring his siblings with him. For all his leading skills though, he also shows a lot of fear and paranoia, even going as far to reject the trauma the siblings had endured in Hell while being taught.
Other : Ezekiel is the second oldest of the Sins, right behind Malachi. After Malachi left though, Ezekiel was given the role to lead the sins, according to their mentor. Enduring similar brutality that had pushed his older brother out, Ezekiel quickly snapped under the pressure, stooping to one of the lowest points in his life as he let the Mentor move past him and begin trying to train the next youngest sin. Sadly, the next sibling's training did not fair well and the Sins lost one of their sisters that day. Ezekiel began using the fact that the Mentor ignored him to his own advantage, sneaking out to the human world in order to look for a place to bring his siblings. Eventually, he found Daon, the city of sin. He enlisted the help of one of his closest guards, Hera, and snuck out from hell with his siblings, claiming the territory with Hera's help. The future is up to the rest of them though.

Ellie Sin
Appearance : Ellie has a strange appearance, her ability causing her appearance to take on specific aspects depending on the sexual preferences of someone. If someone prefers blondes, she will have lighter hair. If someone prefers taller girls, she will seem slightly taller than normal. If someone prefers men, she will have a slightly more androgynous appearance, (Though still distinctly female.) She tends to favor flowery dresses such as sundresses, flower crowns, and the sort. On consistent thing is that she seems to have a dislike for heels and shoes in general, often electing to walk barefoot rather than wearing any footwear.
Sin-Related Ability : Ellie's ability is an unconscious one, taking affect without her actively trying to use it. It allows her to appeal to most people, either as a sexual partner or as a close friend. This allows her to easily sway people to either align with her ideas or to change their minds.
Interests/Skills : To put it simply, if Ellie could dabble in everything, she would certainly try. She is fascinated by most human things, seeming to be completely absorbed in the ideas of gardening, finger-painting, and mortal magic. While she adores these, she is not exceptional at any of them, barely able to paint a cat or hide a quarter, though she does have a little bit of a green thumb.
Affiliation : The Sins.
Personality : Ellie is oftentimes mistaken for being self-absorbed and stupid, shown by her childlike fascination with everything. Despite these appearances though, she is actually quite sweet and sheltered, taking the time to make sure that everyone is happy and having fun whenever she is given the chance. She seems to make friends easily, befriending Hera after the Hell's Guard refused to even address any of the other sins upon leaving Hell. Due to her naive nature though, she is often left out in the dark when her siblings talk about more important matters, a detail that she has come to recognize as 'what they think is best for her'. Regardless, she loves all her siblings and only wants them to be happy.
Other : Ellie is one of the youngest siblings of the group, having spent the least time learning from their former Mentor. Because of this, she has trouble relating to the trauma encountered by the older siblings. Nonetheless, she tries her best.

Malachi Zander
Nickname : Iscariot, Rogue, & Mal.
Sin-Related Ability : Can enter a state of rage and has total flame control.
Interests/Skills : Fighting and drinking.
Affiliation : The Sins.
Personality : Malachi is a harsh person to start off with. He is caring towards his siblings and protective. He is easily aggravated, and quick to lash out.
Other : He has a total of 57 tattoos that cover his body. They range from Norse runes, dark magic sigils, demonic tribal tattoos, and tribal tattoos. He has total of five piercings. Two in each ear and a lip ring in his lower left side of his lip. He has super strength and speed. He can control and wield lightning, and he can heal minor wounds.

Jonah (Jo)
Appearance : A bit baby-faced, Jonah takes the appearance of a male in his early twenties. He's particularly pale with wispy platinum blonde curls and grey eyes. He stands at around 5'6" and seems to be a bit lanky, though that fact is often covered up by baggy sweaters. Generally, he has a bit of a somber look about him.
Sin-Related Ability : Jonah has the ability to materialize any inanimate object that he desires. Initially, he loved his power, because it allowed him to have whatever he wanted, but in his many years, it has grown to leave him feeling a longing for something more. Now, he only uses it when others ask him to. This ability can be useful if ever in a combat situation, however, typically, the object is no larger than a human. Anything larger than that puts a serious strain on him.
Interests/Skills : Jonah isn't particularly good at anything, but he's very interested in experiencing everything the world has to offer him. That being said, he switches between interests very swiftly. The only thing that's seemed to stick is his love for animals that he's developed since coming to the human world.
Affiliation : The Sins.
Personality : Jonah's demeanor can best be described as manic-depressive. On one hand, he's very excitable an ambitious, driven by his innate desire to experience and obtain everything, but more often than not, he falls into these gloomy spells where all that he can think about is how unsatisfied he is with his life. When he's like this, he can be a bit pathetic, even clingy as he relies on his siblings for affection and validation.
Other : Jonah is a "middle-child", something he attributes to his general feeling of mediocrity among his fellow Sins. Since arriving in the human world, he's picked up a stray cat, which he's come to find as a comfort animal of sorts.

Vivoree (Vi)
Appearance : Vi is, first of all, a girl of relatively short stature (5'1"). She has fair skin, particularly freckled around the area of her nose. The ends of her jet black hair are wavy, making her sometimes look unkempt. Her green eyes typically have an air of pride and superiority, though frequently half-shut. Vi doesn't specifically have a fashion sense. She usually wears comfortable baggy clothes.
Sin-Related Ability : Though she's small, Vivoree is like a compressed powerhouse. She has the ability to somehow gain a sudden burst of strength (but it has its limits). Because of it, Vivoree started to think she was better than others. Subconsciously this ability makes it hard for her to choose between "fight or flight," fearing others would be better.
Affiliation : The Sins.
Personality : Vi isn't the obnoxious, overly-loud type of arrogant person. She doesn't pick fights but when she feels threatened or considers something as a challenge, it's hard to not speak out. She tends to try to act like she's the oldest of the siblings even if she's one of the youngest. Manners don't matter to her when she goes against someone's decision, especially if she thinks that decision is bad, Naive behavior aside, Vi is a fun person to be with.

Sin-Related Ability : Each sin will have its own ability. As an example, Sloth can save his energy for later, Wrath can go into 'Rage', etc. (Only applies if your character is a sin. If they're supernatural but not a sin, then you can still decide on an ability.)
Interests/Skills : Is there anything that your character is particularly good at?
Gang/Affiliation : Are you a Sin, a Revolutionary, in the Ordai, etc.
Personality : What does your character act like?

Nickname(?) : Does your character have any nicknames?
Appearance : Pictures are encouraged, descriptions are fine too.
