The Setting Sun...

I'll be posting this as a placeholder for now, as I will be adding to this post in a few minutes.

This will be involving multiple players, across a number of worlds and dimensions. Honestly, it's a roleplay that's been in development for the last three years... so it'll take me a bit to fill in the history, the players and the worlds that this RP will have.

My intention, at least for the time being, is to have others take a look, point out issues and whatever else can be done.

The only similarities that I can see would possibly be that of Nivirres, at least in a loose, general way, but that aside, I don't think we'll have issues there... at least, insofar as I can tell from reading that particular RP, despite me saying I'll join.

For now, this will have to be an unbearable teaser for you RP-lovers. :P

Note: I'm terribly bad at the premise, but here goes nothing... I've got the history worked out, the planets, dimensions and the like, worked out. What remains now is for players to spin their tapestry into The Setting Sun.

DISCLAIMER

This is a work of fiction by the Roleplay Creator and the Players involved in this Roleplay. Any similarity to persons living or dead (unless explicitly noted) is merely coincidental. As a major portion of this roleplay is set in the future, the trends, forecasts, and conclusions provided herein should not be construed as being definitive projections for the purposes of political or economic decision-making. No assurances are offered, either implicitly or explicitly, that these projections, trends, or forecasts will occur.

The Setting Sun

Premise: Earth is a long-lost planet; a world made barren by the wars of Man, yet still livable, for the creativity of Man saved Earth. Alas, it was too late for Man to reverse the effects of its damage, and thus, a massive fleet of starships were constructed to send Earth's progeny out to the stars, to seed the planets and bring back knowledge.

By the year AD 2015, planets and dimension were discovered and pathways made between all of the planets and dimensions. This brought a new age to Earth, bringing new technologies and magic where once the death of Earth seemed all but certain. Or so it seemed. One man, a legacy and a legend among men and women, still lives to tell the tale, a tale of wonder and mystery. Alliances forged and broken. Friends made and lost. Loves found and lost...

It is now AD 7096. Akiro Sokovchenko, the last remaining man from the year AD2015 still yet lives. Earth must be found. It will be found once more. For Earth is Mankind's original birthplace.

History: During the wars of the last 14 years prior to 2015's discoveries, humans with Power worked together, exchanging information, training and occasionally, sharing abilities.

It soon became obvious that humans with Power were present to the governments all over the world. And forcibly used, when caught. During this time, classifications of those Powers were divided into five categories, typically involving the elements, such as Earth, Air, Fire, Water and Spirit. Further subclassifications refined the skillsets that could be discovered and utilized.

It was here that the links to the other worlds and dimensions were discovered, and NASA's purpose was redefined, unsurprisingly by the US government as the fruition of Project Sojiro came into being. (More will be added in as I figure out how to best phrase this.)

... Ugh, this feels inadequate. I'll refine this as I think about the premise more... it's been a long time since I thought about inviting others to play in my world... so to speak. It's also an effort to describe it on "paper", because I can see it all in my mind, and know perfectly how it works. ... It is a curse! D:

The issue with working with two different timelines is, obviously, that there's some time-traveling chicanery going on. This will be revealed in the roleplay, and will be very critical to the mechanics of this roleplay.

I've yet to decide on how I will add the necessary information that we will need... because I'm tempted to use my websites that I own (at least, one of them...), to host the more detailed information that this RP needs. Ironically, I have some of this documentation floating about the Internet, already... but I do know that some of you will probably point out issues that I may or may not have already considered, or not considered at all.
